Students, advisors, friends, and family —

I want to personally welcome you to the 2025 Student

Production Awards for the Rocky Mountain Southwest

Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts &

Sciences!

To every person nominated — you should be very

proud to be recognized for your exceptional work. I

can attest to just how impressive it was, as I had the

privilege of judging several categories. I am

constantly amazed by the creativity, dedication, and

solid journalism I see in the work you produce.

To the advisors who guide your students to strive for

greatness in all they do — thank you. To the parents who

support and encourage your children and young adults — thank

you.

The guidance and support you provide means so much as they grow and work toward a

rewarding career, whether in journalism or other areas of our

ever-changing industry.

This year, we were excited to introduce the career/college fair that many of you

participated in before our awards program began. It is our goal to help you make

connections that will further your careers and education. We also offer scholarships in

partnership with several universities. More details can be found on our chapter’s website.

This awards show would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of Chapter

Administrator Betsy Hauge and Executive Director Jessica O’Toole. I would also like to

thank our Education Committee, led by Committee Chair and SPA host Krystle Long, as

well as our Awards Committee.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and recipients

of the 2025 Student Production Awards!

You inspire and impress us more than you know and

should be so proud of your achievements this past

school year. This year, you set a record! There were

415 high school and college entries from all over our

Rocky Mountain Southwest region. I also want to give

a warm welcome to new entrants including Basha,

Lone Peak, Millennium and Riverton high schools.

You have once again expanded our Student

Production Awards across our region. Thank you all for

spreading the word. There really is no better way to launch

your career in the field of television arts and sciences.

I am very honored to be your Student Production Awards host for

the 9th time. Your incredible talent is what motivated me to join the board of governors

after hosting for the first time in 2017. I’m also honored to serve as your Education Chair

focused on bringing you opportunities such as our Lights, Camera, Careers program. This

program covers a wide variety of topics in our industry and is customizable based on the

advisors’ and students’ studies and interests. We can help facilitate guest speakers to

come to your school or set up off-site workshops. I hope your school will take advantage

of this free program.

We are also committed to supporting your future education and have established yearly

scholarships at Arizona State University, The University of Arizona, Northern Arizona

University, Utah State University, The University of New Mexico and Arizona Western

College. I encourage you to speak with your advisors about these scholarship

opportunities. In your journey through education, internships and even entering into your

career, never stop working hard for your dream and reaching for excellence. With the pace

you’re already on, I’m sure we’ll be seeing your future professional work recognized at the

Rocky Mountain Emmy® Awards in no time!
