LAND

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Centennial College is proud to be part of a rich history of education in this

province and in this city. We acknowledge that we are on the treaty lands

and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We pay tribute to

their legacy, and the legacy of all First Peoples of Canada, as we strengthen

ties with the communities we serve and build the future through learning

and through our graduates.

Today, the traditional meeting place of Toronto is still home to many

Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the

opportunity to work in the communities that have grown in the treaty lands

of the Mississaugas. We acknowledge that we are all treaty people and

accept our responsibility to honour all our relations.

SKILLED

TRADES

What do construction, industrial, motive

power and service sectors have in

common? They’re powered by skilled

tradespeople who build, maintain

and support essential infrastructure

and services. These careers are in

high demand and offer strong earning

potential and independence.

APPRENTICESHIP

Start building your career while you train.

As an apprentice, you’ll alternate between

paid work and in-class learning with certified

tradespeople to complete your trade levels.

Hands-on training follows a competency- or

hours-based model, tracked through Skilled

Trades Ontario (STO), and programs range

from two to five years, depending on the trade.

Centennial, an MLITSD-approved Training

Delivery Agent (TDA), delivers apprenticeship

training at all levels across high-demand

skilled trades sectors.

RED SEAL PROGRAM

The Red Seal is Canada’s gold standard for

skilled trades, proving you’ve got the skills

and knowledge to work anywhere in the

country. To earn this endorsement (when

it applies), you need a minimum score of

70 per cent on the Certificate of Qualification

(C of Q) exam. You’ll take the final exam

after STO approves all your training.

SKILLED TRADES PATHWAYS

High School

Complete Level 1 training through Accelerated OYAP,

a high school program that lets you train at Centennial

in Grade 12 and may lead to an apprenticeship after

graduation.
