THE LEARNING ADVENTURE!

The Learning Adventure began providing school trips and educational tours

in 2011 – and since then, we’ve taken thousands of students from all over

the world on academic travel programs. Many of our growing team come

from an educational background, and most of us interact with teachers

every day. We understand the rewards and challenges of working in the

education sector, so we aim to support you as much as possible in planning

your next school trip.

This brochure outlines a selection of our European school trips - however,

we can customize any tour for you globally. What’s more, all of our school

tour itineraries are fully customizable in line with your budget and

requirements, so please reach out to us to discuss your needs.

You may notice that itineraries in this brochure do not have prices attached.

This is because each tour is customized specifically to your requirements

and can vary depending on departure date, number of students, travel style,

activities included and guides required. However, we always ensure that the

price we quote is the best price available as we want as many students as

possible to experience an educational trip abroad. If you would like to find

trip, working with you on all the minor details and assisting in the

organizational elements to ensure the trip’s smooth running.

situations, make last-minute adjustments, and provide in-country support.

All-Inclusive Trips

Most schools book all-inclusive trips. We cater for all dietary

requirements, provide a variety of transport types, and include

all activities and transport. We can also arrange trips that allow

groups more flexibility.

Flexible Payment Plan

Our payment plan is flexible and we understand that every

institution is different. That’s why we endeavour to organise

and arrange a payment plan that works for your group.

Unlimited Quotes

To get your trips just right, we revise itineraries as many times

as necessary, commitment- and cost-free. We do this because we

understand that itineraries may need to be approved by several

members of senior management.

Pre-Departure Meetings

To prepare students and parents for departure, a member of our

team can come into your school to present on the trip ahead.

We provide information on the learning objectives, packing list,

flights and methods of contact. This will also be included in a

pre-departure pack.

Varied Travel Styles

We cater to all travel styles, from hostels to four-star hotels.

Accommodation must meet our standards and students never

share rooms with the public or the opposite sex. Whether you

choose private or public transportation, we only use reputable,

safe and trusted modes of transport.

On-the-Ground Support

We have offices in Asia, Europe, Australasia & the US, so we

are always on hand to help during your trip. Your dedicated

Adventure Leader will provide on-the-ground support during

your trip.

Flights

We can book ATOL-protected flights as part of your package.

We have special access to group rates, which streamlines the

process and means that full payment is not needed up front.

This allows you to delay requesting payments from parents

and manages your workload.

OUR ADVENTURE LEADERS

Our Adventure Leaders make sure that every part of the tour is a

success. All our Adventure Leaders are selected for their ability to

connect with and inspire students and deliver an exceptional

educational experience. Adventure Leaders manage the day-today

logistics and safety on tour, helping ensure your programme

of activities runs seamlessly from start to finish. We only hire

exceptional people and some of our Adventure Leaders have been

working with us since our first trips departed. Our Adventure

Leaders know their locations inside-out, undergo our in-house

training programme, and work closely with the rest of our team to

understand your specific learning objectives and on-tour

requirements. We have over 100 Adventure Leaders worldwide

who might be showing you around their home city!

Have in-depth knowledge of the tour location

Have a high level of English language ability

Are trained in Health and Safety procedures and Safeguarding

Have completed our comprehensive, in-house training programme

GEORGE HICKS

UK Adventure Leader

George is a Londoner - but he feels like

a European at heart!

He speaks German, French, Italian, and

Dutch, and loves how languages offer

insights into a country’s culture.

An art, architecture and history buff,

George is also a singer, and his ukulele

is never too far away to liven up a trip.

FRANCESCA DE PREZ

Italy Adventure Leader

Francesca grew up in sunny Italy and,

after trying out a few countries and

picking up a few languages (Italian,

English, French, German, and a little

Spanish), she settled in London – the

city of her heart.

On tour, Francesca enjoys finding out

what makes each participant special and

getting lost with them (metaphorically, of

course!) in different cultures.

FRANCE

LANGUAGE TRIP TO PARIS AND LYON

This sample French Language itinerary takes students across

Paris and Lyon, developing their speaking and listening skills

through cultural interaction and showing them key sites in

French history and wider culture across 6 days.

Don’t forget that all our itineraries are fully customizable

according to your needs and budget.

AT A GLANCE

DAY 1

Paris: Meet your Adventure Leader, take a

boat trip on the Seine, climb the Eiffel

Tower and visit the Trocadero Esplanade.

DAY 2

Explore the city further, with trips to Notre

Dame, the Latin Quarter, Place de la

Concorde, the Arc de Triomphe, and lots more.

DAY 3

Visit the Académie Francaise, take part in the

Louvre scavenger hunt, explore the Basilique de

Sacre Coeur and take an art tour in Montmartre.

DAY 4

Lyon: Transfer to Lyon, where you’ll take a French

lesson and get a French-language city tour.

DAY 5

Alongside another language lesson, visit the Museum of

Confluences and the Gallo-Roman Theatre.

DAY 6

Visit the Lyon markets, take a French cooking class, and explore the

Museum of Cinema and Miniature.

GERMANY

ECONOMICS TRIP TO FRANKFURT

As a key European financial hub, Frankfurt is the perfect place

for an economics school tour. On this 4-day adventure,

students will get the opportunity to visit internationallyrenowned

financial institutions and a real-life German

business – all while getting a taste of German city life.

GREECE

CLASSICS TRIP TO ATHENS,

DELPHI AND NAFPLION

Take your students on a 6-day tour through some of Ancient

Greece’s most-famed locations and lesser-known gems. They’ll

explore world-leading museums in Athens, get up close to the

archaeology of Delphi and Mycenae, and take part in interactive

workshops to ground their learning with exciting memories.

DAY 1–2

Athens: Meet your Adventure Leader, visit

the National Archaeological Museum, take

a guided tour of the Acropolis & the

Acropolis Museum, and take part in an

immersive Greek theatre workshop.

DAY 3

Delphi: Spend the day in Delphi, visiting the

Ancient stadium of Delphi, the Delphi Museum,

the Delphic Charioteer, and the Sphinx of Naxos.

DAY 4–5

Athens: Back in Athens, explore the Agora and the

Stoa of Attalos, take a street food walking tour, learn

about Athenian democracy in an interactive workshop,

visit the Corinth Canal, and explore Mycenae and Homer’s

‘mighty walled Tiryns’.

DAY 6

Nafplion: Spend some time in Nafplion, visit the historic Epidaurus,

and learn more about Greek business and agricultural history at a

local olive farm.

ITALY

ART TRIP TO ROME & FLORENCE

Over 5 or 8 days, explore Italy’s famous artworks and finest

galleries, and try your hand at centuries-old traditional forms

of art. Along the way, students will learn more about art

history as a whole, as well as the importance of Italy in artistic

development.



AT A GLANCE

DAY 1–2

Rome: Meet your Adventure Leader and

explore Rome, including visits to the Trevi

Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps,

the Colosseum, the Roman Forum - and

much more. In addition, take a hands-on

mosaic workshop to learn about the craft.

DAY 3–5

Florence: Transfer to Florence and visit the

Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s

Statue of David. Explore more of the city’s best

sites, and take part in a Florentine marbled paper

workshop and a traditional pottery painting class.

DAY 6

Rome: Transfer back to Rome to carry on exploring and

have fun at a stand-up comedy show.

EXTENSION DAYS

DAY 1–3

Bologna: Transfer to Bologna for a city tour, visiting the Asinelli Tower

and the Museo MAMbo. See a performance at the Teatro Comunale and

learn more about the practice of art restoration in an immersive session.

LITERATURE TRIP TO MADRID AND

ANDALUSIA

Immerse students in Spanish authors’ context and get them

engaged with literary workshops. On this 6-day Spanish

literature trip, students will learn more about Spanish literary

history and its wider place in global literary development, while

also getting the chance to explore the country’s fascinating

culture and traditions.

Madrid: Meet your Adventure Leader and

get backstage tours of two theatres, before

seeing a show at the Teatro Español.

DAY 3

Take a pulse-raising sword-fighting class,

visit the Lope de Vega house & museum, and

lace up for a flamenco dancing class.

DAY 4

Embark on a guided tour of Toledo, take a swordmaking

workshop, visit Don Quixote’s windmills,

and head to Reina Sofía to see Picasso’s Guernica.

Andalusia: Transfer to Granada and take a historical

Take a trip to Fuente Vaqueros, listen to an expert talk on Don

TO LONDON & CAMBRIDGE

With a rich historical past and bustling diverse culture, London

provides the perfect base for students to discover iconic

historical landmarks and hidden gems over 7 or 10 days, with

immersive experiences in the city itself serving as highlights on

this history trip.

Don’t forget, all our itineraries are fully customizable according

homestay residential in Hangzhou, China.

Malaga as their base.

The Grayson School from Philadelphia took a ten-day

trip to Rome and Florence. As students had been

studying Italian history, the school worked with The

Learning Adventure to make sure their itinerary was

challenging and informative.

We used The Learning Adventure for our first international trip to

Rome and Florence last year. We spoke to several other tour

groups who had a very specific itinerary they ran with no changes

or adjustments, and knew we wanted to give our students a

different experience. Rory and Alex were super responsive, made
