2024 is an incredibly exciting year for the team at
P-Wave. The launch of our NHS Cancer Awareness urinal
screen partnership is well underway and we’ve already had
some incredible support from companies looking to improve
both staff wellbeing, and encourage customers to head to
their GP Practice if they spot something out of the ordinary.

As per the banner at the top of the page, our new OurFresh-e
plug in air freshener is a finalist in several awards and we’re
also excited to announce that our award winning MyFresh has
been given a “freshen” up with a brand new, sleek and stylish
dispenser. Turn to page 13 for more information.

Cancer Awareness Partnership
On the environmental front, we’ve now rolled out the groundbreaking
EcoPure additive to three products in the range,
Slant6 Urinal Screen, Trough Urinal Screen and the NEW
OurFresh-e. EcoPure significantly speeds up biodegradation
should the products end up in landfill*.
*Long term independent testing to ASTM D 5511 standard underway by Eden Research
Laboratory. Currently 68.9% biodegradation achieved in just under 5 years - Feb 2024

Partnering with the NHS for vital
cancer awareness messaging
We’re working together with NHS England to deliver an
important health message and to encourage body
awareness. You'll see this messaging on our Slant6 & Trough
urinal screens throughout 2024
The NHS’s initiative is being supported by: David, 70
years old, from Cambridge; Adil, 28 years old from
London; and Michael, 67 years old, from
Buckinghamshire, who were all diagnosed with
cancer after noticing blood in their pee.
Adil said: “I first noticed blood in my pee in 2021. As a
fit and healthy 28 year old, the last thing I thought it
could be was cancer. But after losing a vast amount
of weight very quickly, I decided to reach out to my
local GP practice, which led to my diagnosis of
kidney cancer. Thankfully, it was treatable with help
from the amazing team at the Royal Free Hospital!
My story shows that cancer can affect people of any
age and the NHS and P-Wave partnership is a great
way to remind people to contact their GP practice if
they notice a change in their body which doesn’t
feel right.”

WHY WE ARE SUPPORTING THE NHS...
Passing blood in pee – even just once – is a common symptom for
bladder, kidney or prostate cancers, which are all amongst the 10
most prevalent cancers in the UK, and generally affect men more
than women.
Our urinal screens are already used at tens of thousands of venues
across the UK and present a unique, high-impact opportunity to
share an awareness message that has the power to save lives.
Survey data shows just over half of men in England use a public
urinal at least once a week. And the majority of men (71%) said they
would be more likely to contact their GP practice if they saw
messaging on a urinal mat and were experiencing blood in their pee.
