We had a full house again for our September meeting. And if you
missed it, there was a lot of business to address.
We discussed some changes to the By-Laws regarding membership and
guest attendance to meetings and activities. Everyone in attendance
received a copy of the proposed changes to read.
Discussion and questions will be taken at the October general meeting
and the changes will be voted on at the November general meeting.
The $1000 charity donation has been voted on and is going to “The
Central Valley Fallen Heroes” this year.
Possibilities for our meeting location when/if we need to vacate Club
One have been discussed. Kroekerville and Harris Construction have
been offered if needed. Thank you to Jill Rosen, Jeff Kroeker and
Diane Tjerrild for your offers. We will also check with Yosemite Falls
again to see if that’s an option.
Dues for 2025 are now being accepted and must be paid by the
November meeting. We are now paying $75/year per membership.
The next general meeting is Oct 21st, at CLUB ONE starting at 6:30
VP Activities
October is here, the weather is better and next month we vote for new officers. What could be better? As the
club as grown in size we find ourselves with a variety of different events to choose from. The final weekend
in September had two events going, one in Arizona and one in Madera. The size of our club allows us to
multi-task, and hold two events on the same day. Decisions, decisions. The fall events tend to slow down a
bit as we get in to the holiday season, however if you know of a fun event, share it with the club and we will
go with you.
If you have a fun idea, reach out and we will see if it can happen.
Sign-up sheets available at general meetings and you can contact any of the run leaders or anyone on the board
for information.

SEPTEMBER
SUNSHINE & CLOUDS
By MaryLou Lebda
We want to welcome back some of our Central Valley Corvette members from their journeys. We
welcome back Kim and Charlie after a fabulous trip that lasted 33 days. We want to welcome back
the group that went to Bowling Green, and we want to welcome back Terry and Fred Parks from
England. At the meeting, I read a card from Frida Null thanking everyone in the club for supporting
her during Herbs illness and his passing. Julie Sons gave a report about the memorial service which
included a full honor guard and the luncheon that followed. Both Lorraine Henderson and Patricia
Garrahan lost a sister we ask that you keep them in your prayers. Craig Derringer had back surgery
and returned home to convalesce, but he was in a great deal of pain and had to return to the hospital
where they attempted to regulate his medicine and make him feel better . He came home and went
back to the hospital the following day where they eventually released him to a rehab facility. He is
currently at the rehab working on gaining strength and walking. Please keep him in your prayers for
a complete recovery. The Wards took a long trip. They started in Las Vegas and then went to Ron
Fellows driving school where they said they had a great time and then on to Arizona, Colorado and
then back to Nevada where they stopped outside of Reno for a few days of rest. I hope they had a
great time it sounds like they did. Mike and Jeannie King’s son became engaged. He proposed in
Paris, France to his future wife and they're going to have a destination wedding in Mexico.
Congratulations to all. Lori and Alan are off to Greece for a 17 day land tour, this is their third trip
with the same group. Hope they have a great time. Joe Bratton is in the hospital in isolation since
they have not really figured out what's wrong with him.
He has since come home as they diagnosed him with pneumonia . We hope he has a complete
recovery. Jasmine and Aracei were headed to Southern California to attend a conference when they
had a mishap in their garage. Jasmine told us the whole story, but at the end of the story they assured
us they made it to their conference in LA and had a great time . Sherry Garlock it's going to have a
hip replacement we wish her the best. CeCe And John Karli are waiting for the rest of their tests to
see what the doctors are going to do to make them better, so they can continue on their many trips.
Steve Laferrera had a stroke and an amazing recovery. Steve gives full credit to Jeff Engelman for
discovering that he was having a stroke and felt he saved his life. When they got him to the hospital
they did brain surgery to remove a piece of plaque from his brain he was at the meeting and looked
like nothing had ever happened to him, it was amazing.
‣ Added since the September meeting ~ Please be in prayerful thoughts for:
• Mike Henenfent who fractured a rib and punctured avlung after a fall at home.
• Emily’s daughter Linda who was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now awaiting results
and treatment options.
