Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya by Karisma promete
una escapada divertida, solo para adultos y con todo incluido.
Las suites bien equipadas del resort, todas con ducha de lluvia
y bañera independiente, tienen vistas a las aguas caribeñas de la Riviera
Maya. La decoración refleja diversos tonos turquesa, con sillas, cojines,
obras de arte y elementos de iluminación que se vinculan con el tema
náutico.
El resort ofrece una gran variedad de actividades; los huéspedes
seguramente llenarán sus días y harán amigos por el camino. Aqua
Zumba y fiestas de espuma se realizan en la piscina principal, mientras
que alrededor del resort los huéspedes pueden jugar cornhole, voleibol
y pickleball. Cuando oscurece, los huéspedes pueden participar en el
torneo de pickleball luminiscente, con pintura corporal, raquetas y pelotas

promises a fun, adults-only, all-inclusive getaway. The
resort’s well-appointed suites, each with a rain shower
and a free-standing bathtub, all overlook the Caribbean water
of the Riviera Maya. The decor reflects the many shades of
turquoise, with chairs, cushions, artwork, and lighting elements
tying together the nautical theme.
A variety of activities are offered around the resort; guests are sure
to fill their days and make friends along the way. Aqua Zumba and
foam parties take place in the main pool while around the resort
guests can play cornhole, volleyball, and pickleball. Once dark,
guests can participate in the pickleball glow tournament, with
fluorescent body paint, racquets, and balls. Live music is a nightly
occurrence at the LandShark Brewery & Grill while a Mexican
folk dancing performance entertains guests at The Boathouse
restaurant.
St. Somewhere Spa maintains a tranquil environment where guests
can enjoy the hydrotherapy facilities together as a couple, or with a
group of friends, before trying one of the spa's innovatively named
massages such as the Sensation Somewhere Massage or the
Deep Ocean Massage. Choose from body treatment experiences
such as the Citrus-Cilantro fragrant hot stone ritual, or the Mint-
Chocolate Martini to quench dry skin and refresh tired feet with a
mint foot mask.
The Water Journey Ritual at St. Somewhere Spa is the perfect
way to prepare the body before a spa treatment. Raise the body
temperature in the sauna before cooling off with a contrast
shower, and proceeding to the steam room. Refresh in the cold
plunge pool before enjoying the variety of massage jets around the
sensorial pool to stimulate the feet, legs, neck, and shoulders, and
then relax on the bubble beds. Head over to the hot Jacuzzi before
completing the circuit on the heated thermal loungers where an
attendant applies a heated towel and eye pillow.
The signature ‘Mezcalito Mi Amor’ ritual is not to be missed; the
journey commences with a smoky citrus foot bath with salt and
orange. The Massage incorporates Lomi Lomi, Swedish, and
deep tissue techniques using an agave body oil, a traditional
‘folk medicine’ practice known to improve circulation. The ritual
is completed with a scalp massage to reduce tension using a
clementine oil rich in antioxidants.

Un buen diseño spa refleja la cultura, filosofía, tradiciones sanadoras de
su gente, así como los sabores, aromas y artesanías que enmarquen un
fuerte sentido de identidad. Un buen concepto incorpora apoyos reales a
la comunidad que habita, proporcionando experiencias únicas, creando
recuerdos memorables, impecables e inolvidables para sus huéspedes.
La perspectiva en el diseño de un spa incorpora una gran cantidad de
elementos, incluyendo sostenibilidad, huella de carbón, cuidado al medio
ambiente, integración de espacios biofílicos que respetan y enmarcan el
poder de la naturaleza, selección de materiales de construcción, textiles
y recursos naturales, así como la aplicación de importantes avances
tecnológicos.
El diseño de un spa de clase mundial responde a la necesidad de una
mejor ventilación, un mejor flujo de aire con oxígeno, iluminación natural,
y materiales y superficies antimicrobianos. También considera la calidad
y uso responsable del agua, diseño biofílico con espacios al aire libre,
jardines botánicos, la aplicación de geometría sagrada, implementación
de estrategias de eficiencia energética y espacios multisensoriales. Estos
espacios están basados más en respuestas psicológicas y fisiológicas
a estímulos, como centros de neuro-sueño, instalaciones de longevidad
y renovación mental, e inmersión sensorial que brinde la oportunidad
de una convivencia e interacción entre huéspedes y terapeutas. Todo
esto contribuye a un diseño óptimo y digno para los profesionales del
bienestar.
En el futuro, predecimos un aumento en el interés de conceptos
vanguardistas como el biohacking, genómica y análisis de ADN y
programas personalizados creados para mejorar salud, nutrición y
condición física. La creación de salas cuánticas, donde el diagnóstico
por resonancia magnética no invasiva aporta la última tecnología para
reparar y renovar nuestra fisiología. Las salas de recuperación enfocadas
en la longevidad con cámaras hiperbáricas, cápsulas de luz infrarroja,
tapetes de tecnología PEMF, y vibroacústica se verán cada vez más en
los spas.
Sin embargo, a pesar de futuros avances tecnológicos, es vital recordar
que todavía necesitamos toque humano, calidez y conexión con los
demás; para conectar con la naturaleza y con nosotros mismos, para
poder alcanzar el equilibrio físico, mental y emocional. En conclusión,
la creación de espacios de bienestar donde podamos fomentar estas
conexiones seguirá siendo la base del futuro del diseño del bienestar.

LOCAL SOURCING & CULTURAL INTEGRATION
Good spa design reflects the culture, philosophy, and healing traditions
of its people, as well as the flavors, aromas and craftsmanship that
frame a strong sense of identity. A good concept incorporates real
support for the community it inhabits, providing unique experiences,
and creating memorable, impeccable and unforgettable memories
for its guests.
The perspective on spa design incorporates a myriad of elements,
including sustainability, carbon footprint, environmental responsibility,
integration of biophilic spaces that respect and frame the power
of nature, selection of construction materials, textiles and natural
resources, as well as the application of significant technological
advances.
The design of a world-class spa responds to the need for better
ventilation, improved air flow with oxygen, natural lighting, and
antimicrobial materials and surfaces. It also considers the quality
and responsible use of water, biophilic design with outdoor spaces,
botanical gardens, the application of sacred geometry, implementation
of energy efficiency strategies and multisensory spaces. These
spaces are based more on psychological and physiological
responses to stimuli, such as neuro-sleep centers, longevity and
mental renewal facilities, and sensory immersion that provides the
opportunity for coexistence and interaction between
guests and therapists. All of these elements contribute to an optimal
and appropriate design for wellness professionals.
In the future, we predict increased interest in cutting-edge concepts
such as biohacking, genomics and DNA analysis with customized
programs created to improve health, nutrition and fitness. The
creation of quantum rooms, where non-invasive magnetic resonance
diagnostics bring the latest technology for repair and renewal.
Longevity-focused recovery rooms with hyperbaric chambers,
infrared light capsules, PEMF technology mats, and vibroacoustics
will be increasingly seen in spas.
However, despite future technological advances, it is vital to
remember that we still need human touch, warmth, and connection
with others; to connect with nature and with ourselves to achieve
physical, mental and emotional balance. In conclusion, the creation
of wellness spaces where we can foster these connections will
continue to be the foundation of the future of wellness design.

El AVACEN es un dispositivo médico único

The AVACEN is a unique medical device that is FDA Class II

widespread pain from arthritis. It incorporates a dry heat pad -
where the hand is placed, and then enclosed in a vacuum chamber.
This warms and thins out the blood, improving microcirculation all
around the body within approximately eight minutes, and delivering
more oxygen and nutrients to places that typically don’t have good
microcirculation.
Long-term use reduces inflammation, pain, metals, and toxins, and
as inflammation is the cause of so many diseases, the AVACEN
can help to prevent issues caused by inflammation. Think of the
AVACEN like acupuncture without needles, the body heals from the
inside out!
How are spas incorporating the AVACEN?
Spas are utilizing the AVACEN in their relaxation rooms with
20-minute add-on treatments before any kind of massage or facial,

record at the 8th edition of the WWW
The Dominican Republic organized over 3,000 in-person
activities across various parts of the island, with participation
exceeding 80,000 people.
The Dominican Republic received 14 awards from the World
Wellness Weekend, including recognition as the country
with the most WWW activities globally. Santo Domingo was
honored as the most active city in the world and the Americas,
with its mayor, Carolina Mejía, recognized as the most active
mayor worldwide, for hosting over 2,000 activities in the city.
Additionally, Punta Cana was named the most active tourist

Esta capacitación, exclusivamente para profesionales del estilismo,
fue impartida por los embajadores de TRUSS: la puertorriqueña Lisa
Hernández, especialista en balayage y corrección de color, educadora
internacional y reconocida como la primera estilista latina mujer por
#ONESHOT Hair Awards, enseñó técnicas de balayage y corrección
de color. Por su parte, el brasileño Danilo Herbert, ganador del ‘rubio
más sano’ por la revista Cabelos&Cia, y uno de los diez mejores
coloristas revelación 2019 en Brasil, impartió la técnica ‘solar blond’,
que consiste en aclarar el color base natural para conseguir un aspecto
natural.

El cuarto Congreso Internacional de Bienestar y Belleza y de la Expo Wellness
Latino, celebrado por primera vez en México se realizó el 17 y 18 de agosto
de 2024, en el Gran Museo del Mundo Maya en Mérida, México. Organizado
por LIS Wellness con el apoyo del Consejo Internacional de Masaje y Spa y
Empowerment Massage Academy.
Las ganancias se donaron a dos organizaciones sin fines de lucro: Construyendo
Sonrisas, que apoya a personas con discapacidades en Mérida; y LIS Wellness
en Houston, EE.UU. que ofrece terapia holística a personas que padecen
enfermedades como cancer o parálisis.
El congreso contó con destacados ponentes, incluyendo a Ninoska Puerto, una
tanatóloga y reconocida motivadora personal, quien invitó a los participantes
a reconocer y celebrar sus logros, para fomentar su crecimiento personal y
profesional. Carlos Azuara Hernández, especialista en Desarrollo Humano,
liderazgo y gestión de equipos, explicó cómo establecer metas claras y
efectivas, y la importancia de cultivar un excelente servicio al cliente.
El Dr. Gustavo González Zaldivar, reconocido cirujano plástico, habló sobre
el drenaje linfático postquirúrgico, enfocándose en los beneficios y cuidados
necesarios para asegurar una recuperación exitosa y minimizar riesgos.
Magaly Alférez Amaya, dermocosmiatra con 40 años de experiencia en la
capacitación de masoterapeutas y cosmetólogas, demostró técnicas realizar
un lifting facial efectivo. Mientras que el Dr. José Carlos Jiménez Ortega, médico
especialista en medicina regenerativa, compartió conceptos erróneos sobre la
medicina regenerativa en la industria de la belleza. Christopher R. Helou-Decos,
terapeuta muscular con maestría en rehabilitación deportiva, enseñó cómo
identificar diferentes texturas de la fascia y demostró técnicas efectivas para
su tratamiento.
Saralina Cerón, terapeuta profesional y profesora en masaje terapéutico
explicó las precauciones necesarias para trabajar con pacientes oncológicos
y demostró técnicas seguras y efectivas para mejorar su bienestar a través del
masaje. Indira Rubio, especialista en rehabilitación muscular y manejo del dolor,
presentó las diferentes técnicas de estiramiento y evaluación adecuada de los
músculos que contribuyen al dolor lumbar. Además, demostró cómo aplicar
estiramientos neuromusculares para aliviar el dolor lumbar crónico causado por
retroversión o anteversión pélvica.
Los participantes recibieron un certificado nacional del Consejo Internacional de
Masaje y Spa, así como un certificado con validez internacional otorgado por
Empowerment Massage Academy.

The fourth Congreso Internacional de Bienestar y Belleza and the
Expo Wellness Latino, was celebrated for the first time in Mexico
on August 17-18, 2024 at the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya in
Merida, Mexico. Organized by LIS Wellness alongside the Consejo
Internacional de Masaje y Spa and Empowerment Massage
Academy.
Proceeds were donated to two non-profit organizations:
Construyendo Sonrisas, supporting people with disabilities in
Merida; and LIS Wellness in Houston, USA which provides holistic
therapy to individuals suffering from illnesses like cancer or
paralysis.
The congress featured prominent speakers, including Ninoska
Puerto, a thanatologist and renowned personal motivator,
who encouraged participants to recognize and celebrate their
achievements to foster personal and professional growth. Carlos
Azuara Hernández, a specialist in human development, leadership,
and team management, explained how to set clear and effective
goals, and the importance of cultivating excellent customer service.
Dr. Gustavo González Zaldivar, renowned plastic surgeon, discussed
post-surgical lymphatic drainage, focusing on the benefits and care
necessary to ensure a successful recovery while minimizing risks.
Magaly Alférez Amaya, dermatologist and cosmetician with 40 years
of experience in training massage therapists and cosmetologists,
demonstrated techniques for performing an effective facelift.
Meanwhile, Dr. José Carlos Jiménez Ortega, a physician
specializing in regenerative medicine, addressed misconceptions

rehabilitation, taught participants how to identify different fascia

Saralina Cerón, professional therapist and therapeutic massage

oncology patients and demonstrated safe and effective techniques
to enhance their well-being through massage. Indira Rubio, a
specialist in muscle rehabilitation and pain management, presented
various stretching techniques and proper assessment of the
muscles contributing to lower back pain. She also demonstrated
how to apply neuromuscular stretches to alleviate chronic lower
back pain caused by pelvic retroversion or anteversion.
Participants received a national certificate from the Consejo
Internacional de Masaje y Spa, as well as an internationally
recognized certificate from Empowerment Massage Academy
