It was the summer of 1981. The sun beat down and the sounds of birds
and insects filled the languid air around a lone evangelist on a bicycle.
As he did every week, he was traveling 37 miles one way down rural
dirt paths, busy streets, and muddy lanes to a small village. He arrived
at a thatched hut to disciple three believers. For the next six years, he
would continue weekly visits until a church was established.
Eventually, a dedicated church building was completed with a capacity
of 50 people. An addition was recently built allowing 150 believers to
worship together.
Shamalya* is a new believer who lives in a
nearby village. She was possessed by an
evil spirit until one of our partners prayed
over her. The evil spirit left and she was
healed. She accepted Christ in 2023 and
was baptized in May 2024 at the church
that began over 40 years ago! (*Name
changed).
Through the Great Commission gift package, you are helping train
the next generation of ambassadors for Christ who are passionate
about bringing the Gospel to villages in need of hope. We may never
know the impact over the next 40 years as young pastors are trained
up to be the leaders of tomorrow!

long and dangerous hours chopping trees by hand and selling the lumber.

Lina’s husband went missing in Syria (most likely was killed) and soon after
she left for Jordan to live with relatives. A couple of years ago, she moved to
Amman and heard about [our partners’] Church. Lina was so happy that we
visited her house. She wouldn’t stop smiling the whole time we were there. She
prepared a delicious meal and served us chai. She shared with us that when
she comes to a distribution, she feels something very different in her heart.
