HISTORIC RAILWAY
STATIONS IN COLOUR
CHANGING WITH THE TIMES
Railway stations have always been gateways to
the world and important places of urban identity.
In the 19th century, the railway station was an
important type of architectural building, a symbol
of modernity, urbanity and industrialisation. Station
buildings were the cathedrals of the industrial age
and played an important role in the development of
modern architecture. Just like parliament buildings,
opera houses or town halls, railway stations have
also become important landmarks.
Colour was and still is an important design element,
especially in the context of refurbishments. With
its core expertise in mineral building protection,
KEIM is the right partner here too.
