We are the world›s seventh largest furniture exporter with nearly 45 thousand manufacturers, 12 billion dollars of production and more than 5 billion dollars of exports. The technologies we use in furniture production in Türkiye can compete with the world, but they are not enough. More importance should be given to product design in the sector. For this, the necessary attention should be paid to the training of furniture designers. In addition, generating brand awareness is of great importance for the perception of ‹Turkish Furniture› in the world. I believe that Furnishings & Design Istanbul Fair will make a great contribution to us with this purpose and perspective. Only original, innovative designs will take place in the fair and products that do not meet the criteria determined by the FDI Design Committee will not be exhibited. As sector players, we will reach our goal by strengthening each other in unity and solidarity.” Innovative Areas Furnishings & Design Istanbul (FDI) features areas such as “FDI Stage”, “FDI D2B”, “FDI Design Houses” and “FDI New Horizon Exhibition” in addition to original design exhibition areas. Innovative and pioneering design ideas, current insights reflecting the transformation of the industry and inspiring approaches will be discussed at FDI Stage, while designers and brands will hold bilateral meetings at FDI D2B. In the FDI Design Houses area of the fair, which will be generated around different themes with special curation, special products selected from the portfolios of participating companies and brands will be brought together. Within the scope of the organization, different design exhibitions will be held in the FDI New Horizon Exhibition area. In addition, the Onaranlar Kulübü (Repairers Club) will also design home decoration products from recycled materials exclusive to FDI and these products will be included in the Design House creation, offering visitors the opportunity to adopt and support a sustainable lifestyle.
