Reflections from Mayberry
“Shine”

Over the past few months, I have been
reading and studying in my quiet times
verses in the Bible that talks about the
light. As many of you know, we are in the
process of recording a new project. It
seems like every time we begin looking
for songs, as we pick them with God’s
guidance, there is a definite theme. The
last theme was “Heaven”. This time, most
of the songs we felt lead to choose
mentioned “light”. In him there is no
darkness. Man may try but they can never
put out his light. He is the light of the
world and as long as we walk with him
there is no darkness.
We can show our light through Him.
Because He is the light. Matthew 5:16
tells us to let our light so shine before
men. Let your light shine so that others
can see Christ in you. I’ll be the first to
admit that some days my light does not
shine as brightly as it does other days.
Sometimes it even flickers. I am so
thankful God is always beside me, helping
me, and all I have to do is ask Him to help
me shine brighter for Him. Stay in word
and close to Him. Talk to Him daily and he
will help you to shine for Him.
I’m leaving you with a few verses that
help me and I hope they will help you to
shine for Him.

John 8:12 - Then spake Jesus again unto

darkness, but shall have the light of life.

comprehended it not.
1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship one
with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.
Ephesians 5:8 - For ye were sometimes
darkness, but now are ye light in the
Lord: walk as children of light:
Matthew 5:14 - Ye are the light of the
world. A city that is set on an hill cannot
be hid.
Psalms 119:105 - NUN. Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
1 John 1:5 - This then is the message
which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is
no darkness at all.

Don Moen Hosts Live Global Listening Party
to Debut First New Music in 12 Years
Celebrated Worship Leader and Composer Releases
"He’s On Our Side" EP Featuring All-New Songs
Worshippers from Over 25 Countries Join Worldwide Event
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 25, 2024) – Internationally acclaimed worship
leader, songwriter, and recording artist Don Moen celebrated the release of
his first collection of all-new music in over 12 years, “He's On Our Side,” by
hosting a Live Global Listening Party September 25, 2024.
Fans from all 50 states in the United States as well as Italy, United Kingdom,
Argentina, Australia, Philippines, Japan, Zimbabwe, Canada, Nigeria, France,
India, Abu Dhabi, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Ghana, Malaysia, South Korea,

Germany, Indonesia, South Africa, Kenya, Singapore, Brazil, the Netherlands,
and more came together for this special online event.
The listening party gave participants an exclusive first listen to Moen’s new
worship EP, “He’s On Our Side,” and united worshippers from over 25
countries. Throughout his career, Moen has had a profound global impact,
with his music breaking cultural barriers and offering hope, encouragement,
and healing across nations. “It was a blessing to see people from all over the
world joining in,” Moen said. “This new project is a reflection of where God has
led me in this season of life, and sharing it with such a global audience was
truly special.”
Reflecting on the new project, Moen says: “This is my first worship project in
almost 12 years that features new and original songs. The title cut, “He’s On
Our Side,” pretty much sums up what I wanted to say in this release:
‘Oh bless His name, for He has given us
everything we need to fly.
Our broken wings, they have not hindered us.
We have the Lord; He’s on our side!’
It’s my prayer that these new songs, produced by my friend David Hamilton,
will remind you that no matter what you may be going through, God is in
control, and He is on your side.”
ABOUT DON MOEN:
Don Moen, a pioneer of the modern Praise and Worship movement, has spent
his career as a worship leader, producer, songwriter, and music executive.
Moen has sold over 5 MILLION records during his career. While a student at
Oral Roberts University in the early 70s, Moen began touring with the musical
group Living Sound and evangelist Terry Law. By 1986, Moen had recorded
"Give Thanks" for the Hosanna Music! praise and worship series at Integrity
Music, where he would serve as creative director, executive producer, and
eventually, president of the label. During his tenure there, he sold more than 5
million units and signed worship leaders and songwriters, such as Paul
Baloche, Ron Kenoly, Darlene Zschech, and many more. Today, Moen lives in
Nashville, Tenn., with his wife, Laura, where he is president of Don Moen
Productions and oversees his international nonprofit ministry, Worship in
Action.
