The "Kensington Patty" a bakery located .at 172 Baldwin Street is very much responsible for much of that change in Toronto. For many people a trip to the Market is just not complete without a visit · here, although nowadays you might be purchasing a beef, chicken, or vegetable patty as well as an assortment of Caribbean spec_ialties that are guaranteed to satisfy your tastebuds. •Worship Cook Cleve who has been working with the Davidsons since the beginning continues to handle most of the food prepared here like curries, jerk chicken, soups and more. · ,Pat and Ray Davidson, the friendly proprietors of the "Kensington Patty" bakery came to Canada from Kingston Jamaica in . 1977 and wasted no time in buying a bakery then· known as "Kensington ratty Palace. " Located at the intersection of St Andrew's Street and Kensington Ave. this was the first bakery of its kind in Kensington Market. It was started in 1975 by Ray's cousin.
