urinal screens are manufactured to the highest
standards and are being continually developed
with new designs, fragrances and innovative

Eco conscious
Go green! At P-Wave ® we’re on a continuous
journey of improvement, especially when it
comes to the environment. Compared with
their aerosol alternatives, our refills are more
environmentally friendly and are recyclable,
and we’re now manufacturing with up to 15%
recycled material across our range.
We continue to roll out the EcoPure ® additive for
faster biodegradation if they end up in landfill
across more products in our fragrance range.
So far this has achieved 89% biodegradation
over six and a half years.

NHS CAMPAIGN
Partnering with the NHS
We’re working together with NHS England to deliver an important health message and to
encourage body awareness. You’ll see this messaging on our Slant6 and Trough urinal
screens throughout 2024 and beyond.
Why we are supporting the NHS
Passing blood in pee – even just once – is
a common symptom for bladder, kidney or
prostate cancers, which are all amongst the 10
most prevalent cancers in the UK, and generally
affect men more than women.
Our urinal screens are already used at tens of
thousands of venues across the UK and present
a unique, high-impact opportunity to share an
awareness message that has the power to save
lives.
Survey data shows just over half of men in
England use a public urinal at least once a week.
And the majority of men (71%) said they would
be more likely to contact their GP practice if
they saw messaging on a urinal mat and were
experiencing blood in their pee.

Diagnosing cancer early means it is easier to
treat and can save lives, which is why the NHS is
urging people to be aware of changes in their
bodies and contact their GP practice if they
notice symptoms that could be cancer.
Dame Cally Palmer, NHS England national
director for cancer, said: “Having blood in your
pee – even just once – shouldn’t be ignored
because it can be a sign of cancer, so it needs
to be checked out by your GP team.
“Cancer survival is at an all-time high, and
we’re seeing more cancers than ever before
being picked up at an early stage – and this
partnership with P-Wave ® is just one of the many
ways we are helping people to be aware of
possible cancer symptoms.”
Cancer survivor Berry Mulder credits the NHS

with helping to save his life. After reading the
prompt, he sought medical advice and was
later diagnosed and successfully treated for
testicular cancer.

Vital cancer awareness messaging
This unique, first of its kind partnership with
P-Wave® has enabled the NHS to place vital
cancer awareness messaging in public urinals,
a relevant location where symptoms such as
blood in pee may first be noticed.
Now more than six months cancer-free, Berry
reached out to the P-Wave team to express his
gratitude, saying: “Dear P-Wave, I’d like to thank
you and the NHS from the bottom of my heart –
because you probably saved my life”.
Over 1 million NHS urinal mats have
been distributed so far!
