Work placements play a huge role
in developing as an Early Years or
Childcare practitioner and are a
significant part of our courses,
whether that be in schools, nurseries,
creches or other childcare settings.
Every year we receive excellent feedback
about our students and what they bring to the
organisations they have their placements at -
often with the offer of employment following
soon after.
This past year, one of our Year 1 students was
offered a permanent position at the creche she
had done a placement at - despite the fact she
still had to study Year 2 to complete her course!
She has since finished the course, gained a
Merit grade, and then started a full-time role
with the employer.
Our EY&C students are all prepared to create
their own resources to carry out activities while
on placement.
Many of our students were told either that they
would make a great teacher or, even better, that
no one would know that they weren’t already an
employed teacher!
