Our Foundation Learning Programmes
are designed to create ‘a big plan’ for
our students with progression routes
that are ambitious and exciting.
We place EHCP outcomes at the centre
of everything we do and personalise learning
to support our students to reach their desired
destinations. All of our programmes offer both
simulated and practical work experience for our
students, which raises our students’ awareness
of the different types of jobs they could do -
giving them the opportunity to put into practise
the skills they have learnt in the classroom.
Level one
Our Level One programmes are the final
stepping stones to professional and technical
qualifications, giving students the opportunity
to practice and rehearse their skills in a
vocationally-specific learning environment.
With a focus on becoming ‘ready for work’,
our Level One students build confidence and
independence by learning the vocational skills
they will need for work.
Entry three
Our Entry Three Programmes offer students the
opportunity to develop their social and study
skills, whilst learning about the different career
paths they could take. By taking part in internal
work experience that simulates ‘real-life’ jobs,
our Entry Three students are able to apply their
learning in a low-risk, but realistic environment.
Entry two
Our Entry Two programmes prepare our students
for their next level of learning and for increasingly
independent adulthood. It develops the skills
needed for young people to stay safe and make
positive decisions and creates opportunities
that help them learn more about their strengths,
talents and career plans.
English and maths
Whether studying at Entry Three or Level
One, maths and English are critical skills for
life and work, which is why we ensure we build
our students skills in both competences. From
embedded learning (e.g. learning maths in a
vocational class) to our standalone classes,
the way we develop those skills will feel different
from school, with our expert teachers able to
bring the subjects to life in a way that feels
46.
fresh, accessible and exciting!
