SUPPORTED
Supported Internships provide an
amazing opportunity for young people
with an EHCP to take their first steps
into employment and learn a job role that
matches their abilities and interests in a
real working environment.
While in College, you will develop a wide range
of skills through pre-placement experiences and
by getting involved in social action projects. We
understand that the journey to employment can
be challenging, so we will support you to learn
how to search for jobs, complete an application
form, succeed in an interview, and be effective
in the workplace.
During placement/internship, we will support
you in the work place as you learn your role.
Over several months, you will take part in
different tasks to gain experience. We know
the importance of developing maths and English
skills, which lead to gaining qualifications,
including GCSEs. Some of our students are
offered paid employment or volunteer work at
the end of the Supported Internship Program.
At the end of the programme you will be put
in contact with agencies that provide the
assistance with your next steps.
