For more than a century, Landbouweekblad has

been part of farmers’ lives and agriculture. With

African Farming magazine – a brand extension

launched in 2020 – we are ideally positioned to

reach a large audience and host successful

educational and inspiring events. Starting in 2014

with just one event, we have grown exponentially to

and collaboration opportunities.

2025

Family farming

masterclasses

South African farms make a significant

contribution to the national economy. With

most of these farms being family-owned, the

successful intergenerational succession of

such businesses remains an important topic.

Following the success of the 17 masterclasses

hosted by Landbouweekblad in 2023 and

2024, we are excited to announce our

renewed partnership with Theo Vorster and his

team from Galileo Capital. While family

businesses remain remarkably successful

when managed properly, it remains tragic when

an asset, built up over generations, goes to

waste because succession is poorly executed.

at Nampo

Plaaskombuis, a joint restaurant project between

Landbou Boerekos and Syngenta, was hailed as the

great success story of Nampo Bothaville 2024. More

than 8 000 meals – freshly made with quality products

from five protein sponsors – were sold over the four

days of this agricultural show. The concept, which

originated after Grain SA requested that a restaurant be

established on the usually quieter southern side of the

grounds, was popular from the outset.

2025

‘Bossiedae’

workshops

Landbouweekblad will be hosting various workshops

where farmers choose the principles/themes that

experts and sponsors will discuss. The aim is to create

a platform where farmers can acquire reliable

production data, tailor-made for their specific area and

challenges, as well as exchange ideas and tips. A

maximum of 50 producers from a specific area attend a

daylong workshop. These meetings also create value

for input suppliers, consultants and academics.
