What a year it has been. Filled with many highs but unfortunately
also lows. In August 2024 one of the true pillars of our family
business passed away. Saskia, our loving mother, wife to Paul
and grandmother of Liam and George, is missed every day. And how we
wish we could still share the joy and the great sports moments with her.
Because we've been blessed with many highlights this year, also thanks
to our breeding successes and all our events.
On the cover we’ve featured, one of our family’s favorite artists: David
Trundley. A British artist who is inspired by the beauty of horses and
captures them in the most magical settings.
“Honoring a very memorable
equestrian year”
This year we’re looking back on the second edition of our auction in
Ocala at the beautiful venue of the World Equestrian Centre. And also,
the second edition of our favorite show JPM International, held at
Michel’s farm. We proudly celebrated the 20th edition of the Dutch Sport
Horse Sales, which was a blast! The Limburg Foals Auction once again
created a fantastic podium for the products of the breeders in our area.
Resulting in another record average price per foal at the live edition of
the Limburg Foal Auction. We’ve topped of the year with the HX Auctions
of December, where we provide buyers with the opportunity to acquire
youngsters bred according to the HX philosophy.
This Olympic year was filled with equestrian highlights for everyone.
Among which many reference horses that played great parts at top-level
shows all over the globe. We look back at some of them in the following
pages and their achievements that have made us proud.
We’ve been inspired by many equestrians, underlining that our horse
world is a very special one. Leading us to honor a Hero of all Times:
Ludger Beerbaum. A not to miss read is the Next Generation about V&W
Equestrian who are conquering the showjumping world with unparalleled
strings of winnings. Our locals Van Asten-Nyberg Equestrian told us their
inspiring story and we gladly highlight on of our partners: the family
business Hotel van der Valk in Venlo.
Last but not least, I would like to mention our HX Highlight of the Year:
Lambada Shake AG. A top stallion produced by our team that caught so
much attention that we had to let him go and continue his career with
a new rider. We are very excited to follow the next steps of his career.
