on behalf of myself and
all my colleges here at

your loved ones a happy
and healthy new year.
By the time you read
this, the celebrations will
likely be over but hopefully
not forgotten.
So, do all countries and
nations celebrate the
new year on the same
day? Or do they have
different traditions and
dates for new year and
Christmas celebrations?
For example, in most
European countries,
Christmas is celebrated
on the 24th of December;
the United Kingdom
celebrates on the 25th,
and in Russia they wait
for January 7th.
New year is celebrated
the same day, except
for Chinese New Year,
of course - but that is a
whole other story.
In Turkey, things are a bit
different in my view. As a
Muslim, Turks don’t celebrate
Christmas.
Luckily for us, almost
anything can be a reason
to party or celebrate, so
during the month of De-
cember, you will still find
many Christmas related
decorations and celebrations!
While the decorated Christmas
tree is often seen
as a European tradition, it
actually has roots in Turkish
culture, inspired by
the ancient ”tree of life”
tradition. Just like Turkish
Hittitologist words in here
When it comes to New
Year’s Eve, many Turkish
people living in the cities
choose to celebrate in a
restaurant.
In the countryside and
villages, New Year celebrations
are more quiet
and private, mostly due to
religious reasons.
Personally, I am not a party
person. So I might just
celebrate by relaxing with
Netflix :-)

Caretta Caretta sea turtles, which lay eggs on
the beaches in Alanya, are extremely important.
These delicate creatures typically come
to the shores in the summer months to lay their
eggs.
Caretta sea turtles are a species at risk of extinction,
and their protection is of great importance.
The nesting period for turtles usually
occurs in the summer months, especially in
June and July.
Female turtles come Cleopatra, Damlatas,
Demirtas and almost every beaches as they
feel suits to eggs at night to dig holes in the
sand where they lay their eggs. Once the
eggs hatch, the hatchlings make their way
towards the sea.
Thanks to the natural habitat conservation
efforts in Alanya, the population of Caretta
Caretta sea turtles has shown some

Even in Alanya winter is soon coming...
Did you know that there is a wonderful drink that is popular all over Turkey during the winter
months?
The name of this drink is Boza and it is made from millet, water and sugar
Boza can easily be confused with another popular winter drink, salep
But boza and salep are very different drinks, with the biggest difference being that salep is
made on milk which boza is not.
One of the places that makesthe best boza in Alanya is undoubtedly Hancı Pastahanesi.
Boza can also be found in the super markets for you to heat and and drink it at home while
sitting under a warm blanket reading your favorite book.

When more than one unit is build on a plot, the ownership of the plot is divided using “arsa
payi // land share”.
So when an apartment building of 40 units is constructed, these apartments are all located
on the same plot and the ownership of the plot is determined via land share.
The main factor to be considered in the land share is the value of each unit.
As an example, if all 40 apartments are equal in size they will receive an equal share of the
plot.
But in case the building consists of 4 commercial units, 4 penthouse units and 32 apartment
units, the land share will not be equally divided since commercial units and penthouse units
are more valuable than a regular apartment.

Just a few kilometres of the coast of Turkish
resort town Kaş you will find a small Greek
island named Kastellorizo.
There are many museums and historical artefacts
in the Antalya region. You know many
of them.
However, the most interesting of them is the
underwater museum in Side.
For those looking do to something different
this is a good and exiting opportunity, and
everyday small ferry boats sail the 7 kilometres
between Turkish Kaş and Greek Kastellorizo.
This museum is 20 metres deep in the sea
and is the first and only underwater museum
in Turkey.
Side Underwater Museum, a collection of
117 pieces made by Turkish sculptors, can be
seen closely by diving into the sea.
Certified divers generally like the Poseidon
statue, which is the largest statue with a
height of 3.5 metres and a weight of 5 tons.
The sculptures in the museum are made of
materials compatible with underwater and
are manufactured in a way that does not
harm sea creatures. There are 3 stages for
diving in the museum.
1st stage is between 3-8 metres and anyone
can dive for this stage.

A world champion from Alanya.
This philosophy of life has taken Red Bull athlete
and Alanya-born Toprak Razgatlıoğlu to
the top of Europe before he turned 20. Toprak,
who is one of the most promising young
talents of Turkey in motorsports, continues
to make his voice heard in the international
arena with his achievements.
Starting his adventure at the age of 5, Toprak
broke the track record at Istanbul Park at
the age of 16 and became the Turkish Track
Champion. His aggressive racing style, his
structure that always wants to win, and his
never giving up the struggle brought him
trophies. He became the first Turkish motorcyclist
out of 106 to qualify as a Red Bull
Rookies Cup racer.
After his success in the Rookies Cup, he was
specially invited to the Superstock 600. In
2015, he became the European Superstock
600 champion. Razgatlıoğlu, who raced with
factory team Yamaha until 2023 after racing
for Kawasaki until recently, ended Jonathan
Rea’s six-year reign by winning the 2021 Superbike
World Championship.

Camping Behind Alara Castle
Today we’re bringing you another travel idea.
This time, it’s Alara Village and Alara Castle,
located in the heart of Okurcalar.
Our recommendation? Set up camp behind
Alara Castle! With the cool waters of Alara
River, the stunning views of the nearby mountain
and castle, and the energy that comes
from being surrounded by nature, you’ll feel
completely immersed in the outdoors.
Turkey is a great place for hikers and you will
find trails all over the country.
The most well-know hiking trails are the
Lycian way, St. Pauls or the new Efeler trails
which all take several weeks to complete.
For those looking for a day hike in close
proximity to Alanya we have a great recommendation,
which is the hike from Çıplaklı to
Karedelik cave.
The path follows an old trade route in the
forest and up the mountain side direction of
Kızılalan. Once you have reached Kızılalan
you can take a side trail to a cave on the side
of the mountain.
Be aware that the last section from Kızılalan
to the cave will include some semi-technical
sections in open terrain on the side of the
mountain.
Once you reach Karadelik cave you can enter
with cautioln and explore the cave.In a steady
tempo without breaks the hike will take approximately
3 hours out and back with a total
of 650 meters of descent/ ascent and total
distance of 8 km.
