Objective: This project focuses on strengthening the management and quality control of<br />
oceanographic data. It is accepted and financed by the European Union under the 6 th PCRD. The<br />
institute is involved as a contractor in its own right.<br />
Budget: 82000 Euro<br />
Participating countries: France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Tunisia, Israel, Egypt,<br />
Portugal, UK, Norway.<br />
� SESAME<br />
Objective: This is a project that has several components including two focused on the study<br />
of dynamic processes which prevail in the Mediterranean. INSTM is involved in two subjects on<br />
identification the amount of water into the Tunisian Siculo- canal, and quantifying the exchanges<br />
of large coast<br />
� Budget: 60000 Euro<br />

CIRCE: Climate Change and Impact Research: the Mediterranean <strong>Environment</strong>:<br />
Objective: this project focuses on the study of climate change and its<br />
Impacts on the <strong>Environment</strong> the Mediterranean region and this under different aspects<br />
(landward and marine environment, economy, social aspects, precautions, etc.) the goal is to<br />
understand the evolution of the Mediterranean <strong>Environment</strong> in earlier and predict centuries and<br />
understand also, what will happen in the future. Applications on selected key areas will be<br />
made particularly in the Gulf of Gabes.<br />
