Beyond the Books:
Silver Star Bookkeeping’s
Prosperity with BNI
I remember when my business partner, Tomie
Kottwitz, told me I was joining a BNI chapter.
She had recently joined one to start growing
our business outside of our home base in
Ringgold. Tomie was very excited about BNI
and all I could remember was the one time
I visited, fresh out of college, without a clue
on what networking really was. All I gathered
was that it cost money and there was an
attendance requirement, two things I wasn’t
even going to try and ask for at my job.
But, Tomie was excited, and in the two
decades since my last BNI impression I had
grown as a person and really had a knack
for talking to people. After researching and
visiting chapters in my area, I landed on
the newly formed and somewhat small 4
Bridges chapter. They were welcoming and
personable and the open networking at the
top of the meeting gave me an opportunity
to settle into the space and get to know the
people I would be meeting with every week.
Once I joined, the plethora of information
at my disposal, courtesy of BNI, was
immediately put to use. With the tools
provided, I was able to drill down what it was
I wanted to get out of this experience. It gave
me space to flesh out what it was that our
company specializes in and what solutions
we can offer to potential clients. This was in
place to help create specific “asks” for the
Weekly Presentation, but what we learned
about our own business in the process
spilled over into our marketing and how we
serve our current clients.
Through One on Ones, aka The Secret
Sauce in BNI, I had the opportunity to delve
a little further into the professions of the
other chapter members. I can meet with
members of my own chapter, or, attend one
of many events BNI hosts to meet members
from other chapters. The meetings I have
yield more than a networking opportunity;
it builds a sense of community that forms
strong and lasting bonds between the
members. Rachel isn’t just a house cleaner
– she practices acroyoga. Jay may be a
financial advisor, but he really enjoys a nice
ride on his motorcycle. Kelly is a real estate
agent who is just as lively with a great
sense of humor outside of work. Connecting
people is much more fruitful when you can
match personalities with services. One on
Ones are also a perfect time to bounce
ideas off other small business owners. I have
picked up a tip or two from other members
that I have implemented in my business.
Most members fear the Feature Presentation
even though it is their time to shine. It’s my
favorite part of the meeting because we get
to open our eyes just a little more and learn
a new fact that is going to stick with you. We
think we know what a banker or an insurance
agent does – but do we really? Better yet,
don’t you have a question about real estate
that you have been thinking about? At a
BNI meeting, professionals in these fields
are resources that can be used for work and
personal development.
Business Network International (BNI) | 15
SUCCESS WITH BNI
Personally, my feature presentation
is something I look forward to. I like
the opportunity to show and tell – my
profession is one that is multi-faceted and
oft misunderstood and this is a great way
for me to make an impression. I get to lend
my expertise to the chapter and give them
points to think about in their own business.
Educating is one of Silver Star’s core values
and I get to practice it in a productive and
memorable way. I’ll never forget getting a
call from a member of another chapter who
happened to be visiting my chapter on the
day of one of my presentations. I made such
a good impression on them, my name was
the first they thought of when someone said
“bookkeeping.”
The best part of all of this is that my business
partner is out doing the same as I, bringing
even more insight to our own operations.
With Tomie and I both representing Silver
Star in a chapter, we have a trusted and
reputable network with a common goal
to send referrals to our business. We can
connect our clients with that same trusted
and reputable network. As the referrals
become clients, a snowball effect has started
as those clients refer us to their peers.
Even as members leave a chapter, we stay
connected and continue to gain referrals
from them. The efforts we put into that one
meeting per week have lasting impacts.
I think back to my first BNI experience and
how I wish I had seen the forest through the
trees. The financial investment was minimal,
especially when you break it down. The
Member Success Program had a worksheet
that enabled me to calculate how many
clients I would need to sign for a return on
investment. Tomie and both were able to
make back what we spent to join within three
months. When someone balks at the cost
of membership, I remind them that our BNI
region passed $50 million dollars in business
last year through referrals. If you can’t carve
out a slice of that pie large enough to cover
what you spent, it may be time to revisit the
training and educational tools provided with
the membership.
I’m also reminded of how adverse I was to
attending a weekly meeting. Attendance
requirements – yuck! However, the
accountability is nice. Knowing I am going
to see someone each week makes me more
comfortable referring them to my network. I
can be sure that my referrals are taken care
of, all while making me look like the go-to
gal. I quickly realized I look forward to my
chapter meetings. What an energizing way
to start a day! It breaks up the monotony of
my work week and gets me out from behind
a computer. It’s the much-needed time for
working on the business instead of in the
business. And, I always learn something new.
Every time.
My favorite part is the structure. It’s such
a relief to know that the hour I spend in
the meeting is going to be productive.
Our time is limited and valuable as a small
business and it’s frustrating to attend events
that lack a sense of goal. The support BNI
offers to its members through education
to help achieve those goals is plentiful and
diverse. The Passport to Success alone really
opened my eyes in terms of how to make
the connections and time spent work for
me. The structure of the meetings has been
developed and perfected over time to create
an agenda that is key to what makes the
organization work.
The sense of personal development I
derive from my participation in BNI is quite
gratifying. Being able to use what I get out
of this membership in all aspects of my life
makes it even more valuable to me. It has
also helped my business partner come out
of her shell. She has become more confident
in speaking with people, which in turn makes
her more comfortable with our clients and
associates. It has made her more assertive
in our business decisions, making our
16 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
focus clearer and goals obtainable. I have
watched the connections she has made in
this organization make her flourish and it’s
exciting to watch that transformation.
This past year, I was honored to be
nominated and selected as President of my
chapter. This has extended my networking
opportunities beyond my chapter as I work
with leadership in the region to grow our
membership. Participating in a leadership
role within BNI offers more education, giving
me another way to improve what I am doing
on my own business while also sharing with
my chapter.
Silver Star joined BNI in 2022 with just the
two of us working in the business. That
snowball effect hasn’t stopped yet and with
the influx of clients over the past couple of
years, we have grown our firm to a group
of seven hard-working associates. We have
been able to offer certifications to develop
our team and continue their education
in our field. Our firm has expanded into
departments and is scaling upward and
BNI is an integral part of that growth. It’s an
absolute must in our marketing plan because
we know it will deliver results.
As the Positive Quote coordinator for my
chapter, I would be remiss if I didn’t include
one here:
“Small opportunities are often the
beginning of great enterprises.”

Smart Ways to
Keep Your HVAC
System Running
Smoothly Year-
Round
Living in Chattanooga,
Tennessee, means experiencing
a mix of hot, humid summers
and chilly winters. Your HVAC
system works overtime to keep
you comfortable throughout
the year, so giving it some care
and attention is essential. Here
are ten practical tips tailored to
the unique climate and needs of
Chattanooga residents to keep
your heating and cooling system
running efficiently.
1. Keep Filters Clean
Chattanooga’s high pollen
levels, especially in spring,
can clog your HVAC filters
faster than usual. Regularly
check and replace your filters
to maintain clean indoor air
and prevent your system from
working harder than it should.
2. Use a Smart Thermostat
Chattanooga’s weather can
be unpredictable, with sudden
swings in temperature. A
smart thermostat allows
you to adjust your home’s
temperature remotely, so
you’re always comfortable
while saving energy. Set it to align with
your schedule for maximum efficiency.
3. Seal Drafts and Insulate
Older homes in Chattanooga’s historic
districts, like St. Elmo or Highland Park,
may have drafty windows and doors.
Use weatherstripping or caulking to seal
gaps and add insulation in your attic
to keep treated air inside, reducing the
strain on your HVAC system.
4. Maintain Open Vents
Furniture and rugs can easily block
vents, especially in homes with
18 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
traditional layouts common in
neighborhoods like East Brainerd or
Ooltewah. Make sure all vents are
unobstructed to ensure even heating
and cooling.
widely. Leaky ducts waste energy and
can cause uneven heating or cooling.
Inspect your ducts for gaps and consider
hiring a local technician to seal them
properly.
5. Schedule Professional Maintenance
Chattanooga’s HVAC technicians know
how to handle the region’s seasonal
challenges. Schedule a tune-up before
summer’s heat or winter’s chill hits. A
professional can check for common
local issues, like condensation problems
caused by humidity.
9. Plan for Extreme Weather
Chattanooga summers are hot and
humid, while winters can bring cold
snaps. To avoid overworking your
system, dress appropriately for the
season and use supplemental heating
or cooling methods, like fans or space
heaters, when necessary.
6. Use Ceiling Fans Year-Round
Ceiling fans are a staple in many
Chattanooga homes. In summer, run
them counterclockwise to create a
cooling breeze. In winter, switch to a
clockwise direction to redistribute warm
air that naturally rises.
7. Clear Debris from Outdoor Units
Chattanooga’s lush trees and seasonal
storms can cause debris like leaves,
twigs, and dirt to accumulate around
outdoor HVAC units. Regularly check
and clear this area to ensure proper
airflow and prevent damage.
8. Insulate and Seal Ductwork
With Chattanooga’s mix of old and new
construction, duct systems can vary
10. Upgrade When Necessary
Many homes in Chattanooga, particularly
in older neighborhoods, still rely on
aging HVAC systems. If yours is over
10-15 years old, consider upgrading to
an energy-efficient model. Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA) and EPB often
offer rebates or incentives for energyefficient
improvements, making it a
smart investment.
By following these tips, Chattanooga
residents can keep their HVAC systems
running efficiently, no matter what
the local weather throws their way.
A little maintenance goes a long way
in ensuring year-round comfort and
savings in the Scenic City.

Social media in 2025 isn’t just a digital
trend; it’s a vital part of how brands thrive,
connect, and grow. It’s no longer enough
to post sporadically and hope for the
best. Today, success demands creativity,
strategy, and authenticity. At Tic-Tac-Tag
Brands, we’ve seen firsthand how the
right approach can turn followers into
loyal customers and casual scrollers into
brand advocates. Here’s a deeper dive
into what it takes to boost your brand’s
awareness in the ever-changing social
media landscape of 2025.
Build Your Narrative: Stories That Stick
In a world inundated with content, a
compelling story can cut through the
noise. Brands aren’t just selling products
or services anymore—they’re selling
identity, purpose, and connection. Your
audience wants to know what drives you,
what values you uphold, and how you’re
making a difference.
The Why Matters: Are you championing
sustainability? Supporting local
communities? Innovating in your industry?
Let your audience in on your journey.
Execution Tip: Use Instagram Stories,
TikTok videos, and even LinkedIn
articles to tell your brand’s story. Share
milestones, struggles, and triumphs to
create a narrative your audience can root
for.
Engagement Over Everything
Gone are the days when follower counts
were the ultimate measure of success.
In 2025, engagement reigns supreme.
A small, highly engaged audience often
outperforms a large, passive one. Why?
Because people who interact with your
content are more likely to remember
your brand, recommend it, and ultimately
become customers.
Practical Steps:
Ask open-ended questions in your
captions.
• Use Instagram’s interactive stickers
(polls, quizzes, sliders) to encourage
participation.
• Respond promptly to comments and
DMs—it shows you’re listening and
builds trust.
Short-Form Video: The King of Content
The rise of TikTok and Instagram Reels
has cemented short-form video as the
preferred content format for 2025. These
bite-sized clips are not only easy to
consume but also incredibly shareable,
making them a powerful tool for building
awareness.
What Works: Tutorials, behind-the-scenes
clips, “day in the life” videos, and quick
tips related to your industry. Keep them
visually engaging and under 30 seconds.
Why It Matters: Videos boost
engagement, keep your brand top-ofmind,
and can introduce you to entirely
new audiences through platform
algorithms.
Micro-Influencers: Authenticity at Scale
While big-name influencers still have their
place, micro-influencers (with 5,000–
50,000 followers) are gaining traction
for their authenticity and highly engaged
communities. These creators feel more
relatable to their audiences, making their
endorsements more impactful.
How to Leverage This: Find microinfluencers
who align with your brand’s
values. Work together on campaigns that

feel organic and collaborative—whether
it’s product reviews, giveaways, or cocreated
content.
Diversify Your Platform Presence
Instagram and Facebook may still be
heavy hitters, but new platforms are
emerging that offer unique opportunities
to reach niche audiences. BeReal, for
instance, thrives on authenticity and
unfiltered moments, while Pinterest
remains a go-to for lifestyle inspiration.
The Strategy: Experiment with platforms
that align with your audience’s habits.
Use BeReal for behind-the-scenes
content, Pinterest for mood boards and
product discovery, or even LinkedIn for
professional storytelling.
but a thoughtful infographic might resonate
more for a financial services company.
Ask Yourself: “Does this trend feel authentic to
our brand?” If the answer is no, it’s okay to pass.
Staying true to your identity is always more
impactful than chasing fleeting popularity.
Celebrate Your Community
User-generated content (UGC) is one of the
most powerful tools in your social media
arsenal. Featuring your customers’ photos,
reviews, or stories not only builds trust but also
shows that you value your audience.
Data-Driven Creativity
Analytics are your guiding light in
2025. They tell you what works, what
doesn’t, and where you can improve. But
the magic happens when data meets
creativity. Use your insights to refine your
approach while keeping your content
fresh and human.
Example: If your audience loves behindthe-scenes
videos, double down on them.
If carousel posts are generating saves,
incorporate more. Let the numbers guide
your strategy without losing your creative
spark.
Trend Responsibly
Trends can offer a quick boost, but
they’re not one-size-fits-all. The brands
that succeed in 2025 are those that align
trends with their core values. A viral dance
challenge might work for a fashion brand,
22 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
How to Encourage UGC:
• Create branded hashtags to make it
easy for customers to tag you.
• Run contests or challenges that
incentivize content creation.
• Spotlight customer stories in your posts
or Stories.
Paid Ads with Purpose
In 2025, a robust social media strategy
includes both organic content and paid
campaigns. But running ads isn’t just
about throwing money behind posts. It’s
about crafting compelling messages that
resonate with your audience.
Tips for Success:
Use eye-catching visuals and concise,
benefit-driven copy.
Test multiple variations of your ad to see
what performs best.
Retarget users who’ve interacted with
your brand but haven’t yet converted.
Stay Curious and Evolve
Social media moves fast, and what works
today might not work tomorrow. Brands
that thrive are those that stay curious,
experiment with new ideas, and aren’t
afraid to pivot when something isn’t
working.
Mindset Shift: View every post, campaign,
or trend as an opportunity to learn. The
most successful brands in 2025 will be
those that embrace change and adapt
quickly.
At Tic-Tac-Tag Brands, we’ve helped
businesses of all sizes navigate the everevolving
social media landscape. Whether
you’re launching a new campaign or
looking to refresh your strategy, we’re
here to make sure your brand doesn’t just
keep up—it stands out. Ready to take your
social media game to the next level? Let’s
get to work!

Revolutionizing Chattanooga
How Smart Roofs
Are Shaping a
Sustainable Future
32 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
As Chattanooga continues to embrace
innovation and sustainability, one of the
most transformative trends emerging
in the local construction and housing
market is the adoption of smart roofs.
Known for its scenic beauty and vibrant
community, Chattanooga is perfectly
positioned to become a leader in smart
roofing technology, which can help
maintain the city's natural charm while
embracing modern efficiency.
What Makes a Roof "Smart"?
Smart roofs integrate technology to
improve the functionality of traditional
roofing. In Chattanooga, where
weather can range from sunny days
to stormy nights, having a roof that
adapts to environmental changes and
enhances energy efficiency is not just
convenient—it's essential.
Key Features of Smart Roofs in
Chattanooga
Energy Efficiency: Chattanooga
residents can benefit from smart
roofs equipped with solar panels from
brands like Tesla Solar and GAF Energy,
which generate electricity, reducing
reliance on non-renewable energy
sources and decreasing utility bills.
Reflective materials by companies
like CertainTeed and Owens Corning
also help keep homes cooler during
the humid Southern summers, further
cutting down air conditioning costs.
Leak Detection: The weather in
Tennessee can be unpredictable,
with sudden storms that may cause
damage to traditional roofs. Brands
like LeakBarrier offer smart roofs in
Chattanooga that are equipped with
sensors that monitor for moisture and
leaks, providing homeowners with realtime
alerts to prevent water damage
and costly repairs.
Weather Adaptation: Some smart
roofs can change their properties
based on the weather, such as altering
reflectivity during intense sunlight or
improving insulation during cold snaps,
ensuring homes remain comfortable
without excessive energy use. Therma
Vent offers roofs that include these
adaptive features.
Durability and Maintenance: Designed
to withstand the elements, smart
roofs boast self-healing properties
that repair minor damages caused
by environmental exposure. This
feature is particularly beneficial in
Chattanooga, where the weather can
vary dramatically throughout the
year. Brands like Flexim Roof Putty
are leaders in providing durable,
maintenance-friendly roofing solutions.
The Benefits of Smart Roofs for
Chattanooga
Adopting smart roofs offers more
than technological advancement; it

is a step towards sustainable living in
Chattanooga. By optimizing energy use
and reducing heat, these roofs can help
mitigate the urban heat island effect,
which is crucial for a city surrounded
by natural forests and mountains.
Moreover, utilizing solar energy
supports Chattanooga's ongoing
initiatives to promote renewable
energy solutions within the community.
Local Success Stories and
Applications
Chattanooga's businesses and
residential communities are already
seeing the benefits of smart roofing.
Local projects include residential
developments in the Northshore area
and commercial buildings downtown,
where smart roofs from brands like
Tesla Solar and GAF Energy have
helped to reduce operational costs
and increase energy efficiency. These
initiatives not only showcase the
practical applications of smart roofing
but also demonstrate Chattanooga's
commitment to sustainable urban
development.
Looking to the Future
For Chattanooga, a city proud of
its technological and environmental
initiatives, smart roofs represent the
next step in urban innovation. They
offer a practical solution to improving
building efficiency and sustainability,
which is essential for maintaining
the quality of life as the city grows.
As more homes and businesses in
Chattanooga choose smart roofs, they
contribute to a larger vision of making
the city a model for sustainable and
smart urban living.
Chattanooga's residents have a unique
opportunity to lead by example,
showing how technology and tradition
can blend to create a healthier, more
sustainable community. With smart
roofs, we are not just protecting our
buildings; we are investing in the future
of our beloved city. Join us as we
elevate Chattanooga, one smart roof at
a time.

Chattanooga, Tennessee, has long
been a gem of the Southeast—a city
where natural beauty meets innovation,
attracting both longtime residents and
newcomers. As we step into 2025, the real
estate market in Chattanooga continues
to evolve, shaped by emerging trends,
economic shifts, and the city’s unique
appeal. Whether you’re a buyer, seller,
investor, or industry professional, here’s
what you can expect from Chattanooga’s
real estate market this year.
A Market Balancing Growth and
Affordability
Chattanooga’s real estate market has
seen steady growth over the past decade,
fueled by its affordability compared
to larger metro areas. In 2025, the
city continues to attract professionals,
families, and retirees looking for value
without sacrificing quality of life.
However, with increased demand comes
rising prices. Median home values are
projected to climb modestly this year,
particularly in desirable neighborhoods
like Northshore, Signal Mountain, and
Ooltewah. That said, Chattanooga remains
more affordable than cities like Atlanta or
Nashville, making it a prime destination
for those seeking a balance of cost and
livability.
The Rise of Sustainable Living
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a
driving force in Chattanooga’s real estate
market. Buyers are increasingly drawn to

A Boom in Multi-Family Housing and
Rentals
As Chattanooga continues to attract
a younger demographic, including
tech professionals drawn to the city’s
burgeoning startup scene, demand for
rental properties remains strong. Multifamily
housing developments are on
the rise, particularly in downtown and
surrounding urban areas.
In 2025, investors are capitalizing on this
trend, with many focusing on properties
that offer modern amenities like
coworking spaces, gyms, and communal
outdoor areas. For tenants, these features
are becoming non-negotiable, especially

prioritize green features are seeing strong
returns, as environmentally conscious
buyers are willing to pay a premium
for homes that reduce utility costs and
carbon footprints.
The city’s long-standing commitment to
sustainability, exemplified by initiatives
like its downtown revitalization and
green infrastructure projects, makes
Chattanooga a leader in this space.
Expect to see more listings highlighting
features like energy-efficient HVAC

Tech Integration in Real Estate
Technology is reshaping how real

Chattanooga. Virtual tours, AI-driven
property recommendations, and digital
contracts have become standard
practices, streamlining the buying and
selling process.
For real estate agents, staying tech-savvy
is no longer optional—it’s a must. Buyers

sellers want their properties showcased
through professional photography, drone
footage, and immersive virtual tours.
The real estate firms that adapt to these
demands are the ones thriving in 2025.
A Shift in Commercial Real Estate
Chattanooga’s commercial real estate
sector is navigating a period of
transformation. While traditional office
spaces have seen a decline in demand
due to remote work trends, mixed-use
developments are thriving. Businesses
are seeking flexible spaces that combine
work, retail, and living environments,
aligning with the needs of today’s
workforce.
Neighborhoods like Southside and
Warehouse Row are leading this shift,
with projects that blend historic charm
with modern functionality. Retail spaces
are also adapting, focusing on smaller
footprints and experiential offerings to
attract foot traffic.

Suburban Growth and the Appeal of
Space
The pandemic’s impact on housing
preferences lingers, with many buyers still
prioritizing space and flexibility. Suburban
areas like Ooltewah and East Brainerd
continue to see growth, as families and
professionals seek larger homes with
yards, home offices, and proximity to
schools.
Developers are responding with new
construction projects that cater to these
needs, offering modern floor plans and
community-focused amenities. For those

short-term rentals means investors need
to stay informed about local policies.
Those who focus on long-term rental
properties, multi-family units, and valueadd
opportunities are well-positioned to
see strong returns in the coming year.
Challenges Ahead
While Chattanooga’s real estate market is
full of promise, challenges remain. Rising
interest rates could make homeownership
less accessible for first-time buyers, while
inventory shortages may limit options in
certain price ranges.
Additionally, ongoing economic
uncertainty means that buyers and sellers
alike should work with experienced real
estate professionals who understand the
local market dynamics and can navigate
potential hurdles.

Opportunities for Investors
Chattanooga’s growing popularity

Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee
Aquarium continue to draw visitors.
What’s Next for Chattanooga Real
Estate?
Chattanooga’s real estate market in
2025 is a mix of innovation, growth, and

evolve, its unique blend of affordability,
natural beauty, and cultural vibrancy
makes it an attractive option for a wide
range of buyers and investors.

THE WATERCOOLER
Beneath the Boards:
The Chattanooga
Cipher
When Evan bought his first home in Chattanooga, TN, he wasn’t looking for
history. He wanted charm, proximity to work, and a fixer-upper he could make
his own. The 1940s craftsman on the edge of Missionary Ridge seemed perfect—
until the crawlspace inspection revealed more than just dampness.
The Discovery
Evan hadn’t paid much attention to
the crawlspace. It was dark, cramped,
and smelled like mildew—a problem for
another weekend. But when he finally
suited up with gloves and a flashlight,
something odd caught his eye.
Tucked behind a wooden beam was a
rusted metal box, about the size of a
shoebox. Curious, Evan brushed off the
dirt and opened it to find a stack of
papers, brittle with age. At the top of the
pile was a note written in shaky cursive:
"To whomever finds this: Solve the cipher.
Protect what remains. - JD"
A Hidden Puzzle
The papers were covered in strange
symbols and seemingly random letters.
Evan recognized it as a cipher—an
encoded message. Luckily, he was a selfproclaimed
puzzle geek, having spent
countless nights cracking escape-room
mysteries and online ARGs. This was right
up his alley.
He spent the next few nights decoding
the first page, using a combination of

frequency analysis and online research.
Slowly, a message emerged:
with age, and a small velvet pouch that
felt heavy in his hand.
"Beneath the floorboards of the master
bedroom lies the key to Chattanooga’s
forgotten fortune."
Evan didn’t know what to expect, but his
curiosity had him ripping up the boards
by the next morning.
The Safe
Sure enough, under the floorboards, he
found a small, locked safe bolted to the
foundation. It was old, with a rotary dial
and no sign of a key. Evan stared at it, his
heart pounding. What was inside? A few
relics? Cash? Something darker?
He returned to the cipher for clues.
The next set of symbols decoded to
a sequence of numbers: 12-37-08—a
possible combination. With trembling
hands, he turned the dial.
The safe clicked open. Inside was a
leather-bound journal, its edges cracked
The Journal of JD
The journal belonged to one James
Darrow, a former Union soldier turned
Chattanooga entrepreneur. In its pages,
James recounted how he had amassed a
small fortune during the Reconstruction
era by smuggling rare gems from the
Appalachian mines. Fearful of being
discovered, he had hidden the gems in
secret locations across Chattanooga.
But the journal was more than a
memoir—it was a treasure map. Each
page described a hiding spot, marked
by cryptic ciphers and coordinates. The
velvet pouch contained the first piece of
the puzzle: a rough emerald the size of a
walnut.
A Race Against Time
Evan wasn’t the only one interested in the
crawlspace's secrets. While researching
James Darrow online, Evan stumbled
upon a decades-old news article about a
local historian who had disappeared while
Business Network International (BNI) | 41

investigating Darrow’s life. It seemed
Darrow’s fortune was a legend others had
pursued—and failed to find.
Evan’s excitement turned to unease. Was
he ready to follow this trail? Could he
trust anyone with what he’d found?
He reached out to a crawlspace repair
company, "Chattanooga Crawlspace
Solutions," to reinforce the area and keep
prying eyes away. Their lead technician,
Claire, was intrigued by Evan’s story and
offered her expertise.
“Treasure hunts don’t pay if your house
collapses on you,” she joked. But her
practical advice helped Evan focus: if he
was going to chase this mystery, he’d
need the right foundation—literally.
The First Clue
With the crawlspace secured, Evan
turned his attention to the journal. The
first cipher led him to a historical marker
near the Walnut Street Bridge, where
he unearthed a rusted tin box buried
beneath an oak tree. Inside was another
gem and the next clue.
Evan soon realized he wasn’t just
piecing together a treasure map—he
was uncovering a hidden narrative of
Chattanooga’s history, from Civil War
secrets to forgotten landmarks. The
ciphers led him through cemeteries,
abandoned rail tunnels, and even the
basement of an old speakeasy downtown.
The Final Reveal
After weeks of decoding, digging, and
late-night brainstorming sessions, Evan
42 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
found himself back where it all began—his
crawlspace. The final clue revealed that
Darrow had hidden his largest gem, a
flawless diamond, under the very beams
that supported Evan’s home.
As Evan unearthed the treasure, he felt
a mix of triumph and disbelief. He had
done it—not just solved the puzzle, but
connected with a part of Chattanooga’s
past in a way few ever would.
Legacy
Evan chose to donate the gems and
journal to the Chattanooga History
Center, ensuring Darrow’s story would be
preserved. But the adventure changed
him. He realized the real treasure wasn’t in
the emeralds or diamonds—it was in the
thrill of discovery, the late-night puzzles,
and the unexpected friendships he’d
formed along the way.
“Crawlspaces might not be glamorous,”
Evan laughed as he handed over the
artifacts, “but they’ve got stories to tell if
you’re willing to get your hands dirty.”
Today, Evan’s house is known as
"The Cipher House," and thanks to
"Chattanooga Crawlspace Solutions," it
stands as a solid tribute to the mysteries
hidden just beneath the surface.

Holiday party season is starting to ramp
up, which means you’ll be meeting new
people and seeing others you’ve met
in the past. It also means your ability to
remember names will be put to the test.
If you have trouble in this area, you’re not
alone.
There’s a biological reason for why
remembering names is a challenge, says
Ian McDonough, professor of psychology
at Binghamton University. “Our minds aim
to use all our previous knowledge and
experience to make predictions about
the world,” he says. “When we want to
learn new information, we are faster at
learning when it takes advantage of our
knowledge and experience. Remembering
people’s names is more complicated
than we realize. It involves combining
two pieces of completely arbitrary
information: a face and a word.”
That doesn’t mean we should shrug our
shoulders and give up. “People like being
remembered. They can feel offended if
44 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
EN
they think you’ve forgotten them,” says
Ivan Misner, founder of BNI, a business
networking organization, and author
of Who’s in Your Room: The Secret to
Creating Your Best Life.
Fortunately, there are a few tricks you can
use to improve your recall in this specific
area.
Engage Multiple Senses
We are more apt to remember
information, such as names, if we engage
more than one sense, says McDonough,
explaining, “Hearing a name engages
your auditory sense. If we visualize how
the name is spelled, we will engage our
visual sense. Better yet, if we write down
the name, then we engage our visual and
motor senses.”
When you write down someone’s name,
it helps to make a note about what you
talked about or what the person looks
like. By “encoding” the name with more
than one sense, you’ll be more apt to
learn it, especially if the name is one you
haven’t heard before, says McDonough.
Tap Into the Power of Repetition
Repetition is key for remembering names,
says Misner, noting, “When you meet
somebody and they throw their name at
you, your mind is usually thinking of other
things. Literally 20 seconds later, you’ve
forgotten it.”
Instead, Misner recommends asking them
to repeat their name. “You can ask, ‘How
is that spelled?’ Or if you’re reading their
name [on a name tag, for example], ask
how it’s pronounced. This is especially
important if it’s an unusual name.”
One trick McDonough suggests is to
repeat the name back to the person upon
meeting them. By doing that, he says,
“You are confirming you heard the name
correctly, you are engaging your auditory
senses one more time, and by generating
the name yourself, you will benefit from
a common mnemonic strategy called
GAGE

GROWING YOUR BUSINESS
the ‘generation effect’: the phenomenon
in which things you generate or say are
usually better remembered than when
you hear someone else saying them.”
Repetition is especially important
at events, which can be filled with
distractions. “Often at parties or other
social gatherings, it can be hard to
hear people,” McDonough says. “If
you don’t entirely hear their name, it
won’t be stored, and thus it will not be
remembered. Ask them to repeat it and
lean in closer this time.”
Introduce Them to Someone Else
Another way to remember someone is to
make a point of introducing them to other
people. Going into an event with that goal
will make you more likely to listen when
you meet someone. And connecting them
to someone else then gives you a chance
to repeat and use their name.
Misner recommends asking them
questions and then introducing them to
someone you know based on what you’ve
learned. “You can say, ‘I think I know
someone who might be interested in what
you do,’” he says. “Take them over and
introduce them. You are constantly using
the name.”
him on my way to work, but his name just
would not stick. So I created a mental
image. He was balding, and Craig rhymes
with ‘egg,’ and so I imagined a giant egg
in place of his face.”
That trick made the difference,
McDonough says, noting, “If a clever
rhyme and image don’t work, imagine
the text of the name bouncing around
the person or perhaps related to some
contextual information like where they
work.”
You can also relate them to someone else
you know with that name. “Our brains
learn information better if we can relate
previous experiences or knowledge to
what we want to learn,” says McDonough.
“So, if you already know someone with
the same name, think of that person and
put them in the same mental bucket.
Better yet, visually imagine the new friend
standing next to or hugging your old
friend with the same name. Remember,
the more distinctive or bizarre the better.”
Use Distinctive Imagery or Rhymes
People remember things associated with
visual imagery, and the more distinctive or
bizarre that mental imagery, the more it
will stick.
“One time I was trying to remember a
person named Craig,” McDonough says.
“I saw him day after day and talked to

Test Your Retrieval Process
Before you part ways, make a habit of
using the person’s name one last time. For
example, “It was nice meeting you, Chris.”
If you can remember their name at this
point, repeating it serves as a type of
retrieval practice, which McDonough says
is one of the best learning techniques. If
you’ve already forgotten the name, it’s
the perfect time to politely tell them how
great it was meeting them and asking,
“Can you tell me your name again?”
“Catch their name one more time before
it gets awkward,” says McDonough.
You can leverage the retrieval practice
by recalling the person’s name a minute
after your conversation is over, then 5
minutes later, 10 minutes later, and again
20 minutes later.
Ask for Context
If you can’t remember someone you’ve
met before, Misner says it could be a
context problem. For example, you may
have met someone at an office party. If
you run into them at the grocery store, it
can be harder to place the connection.
“Ask them to remind you where you
previously met,” Misner suggests. “They’ll
often reply and provide context. Then,
boom, you’ll remember. Context always
helps.”
Make It Easy for Others to
Remember You
Finally, it can help if you make it easy
for someone to remember you. Misner
cautions against asking, “Do remember
me?”
“What you want to say is, ‘It’s great to see
it again. I don’t know if you remember, but
we met at such and such a location,’” he
says. “Now you’ve given context so the
person can reply with ‘Yes, I remember
you.’ Make it easy for people to connect
with you when you’re meeting them
again. And don’t be offended if they don’t
remember you immediately.”
Since recalling someone’s name is a
universal challenge, cut yourself and
others a little bit of slack, especially
during the holiday season.

GROWING YOUR BUSINESS
The Importance of
Social Responsibility in
Growing Your Business
BNI Members are already committed
to giving back to our communities and
making a positive impact in the world. It’s
in our nature. We also know that social
responsibility is good for business.
Corporate social responsibility (a.k.a.
CSR) is a business approach that delivers
economic, social and environmental
benefits for all involved. It’s a broad
concept that encompasses a wide range
of activities, including:
Community Outreach
• Pro Bono Services
• Ethical business practices
• Philanthropy
It is not solely about doing good for
society; it is also a good business practice.
CSR can help your business to:
• Attract and retain customers and
employees
• Improve their brand reputation
• Reduce risk
• Increase innovation
• Boost profitability
CSR fits perfectly with our BNI philosophy.
It’s all about Givers Gain®. Let’s dive into
this topic to see how you can implement
some ideas into your own business.
Why is CSR important for small
businesses?
CSR is just as important for small
businesses as it is for large businesses.
In fact, small businesses are often better
positioned to implement CSR initiatives
because they are more agile and can
respond quickly to the needs of their
communities.
48 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
CSR can help small businesses to:
• Stand out from their competitors
• Attract new customers and employees
• Build relationships with their
communities
• Improve their bottom line
How can you implement CSR?
There are many ways that small
businesses can implement CSR. Here are a
few ideas:
• Support local charities and nonprofits.
• A BNI Member who is a real estate
agent donates a portion of her
commission from every sale to a local
animal shelter.
• An accounting firm partners with the
financial advisor in their Chapter and
offers free financial planning services to
lower-income individuals.
• A small construction company or
handyman volunteers time and supplies
to help improve or repair homes for
low-income families.
• A small marketing agency donates
its services to help local nonprofits
promote their causes.
The most important thing is to get
creative and find ways to make a
difference in your community. This
increases your Visibility, Credibility, and
Profitability (VCP) and gives your brand a
permanent connection to your local area.
Consider partnering with the Members
of your Chapter to create a donationinspired
event like a toy drive or food
bank donation which doesn’t cost
Members very much but collectively
makes a large impact. Every little bit
helps. And remember, the more you give,
the more you gain!
• Adopt sustainable business practices.
• Create a fair and inclusive workplace.
• Be transparent and accountable.
What are a few examples of how small
businesses in BNI can use CSR?
• A small coffee shop donates a portion
of its profits to a local charity or offers
free coffee or food to those in need.

KICKSTARTING 2025
Sarah W.

A Story of Fresh Starts
and Big Goals
As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, Sarah
sat on her couch, a glass of sparkling cider in hand
and her journal open on her lap. She wasn’t one for big
resolutions, but this year felt different. 2024 had been a
rollercoaster—some wins, a few losses, and a lot of lessons
learned. Now, with 2025 unfolding in front of her like a
blank page, she felt ready to take control.
But where to start?
The Reflection
Flipping back through last year’s
journal entries, Sarah smiled at the
memories of her successes: paying off
her car loan ahead of schedule and
finally taking that family trip to the
Smoky Mountains. Then, there were the
less-than-stellar moments: unexpected
medical bills that drained her savings
and a few too many impulse buys
during holiday sales.
She scribbled a note to herself:
“Celebrate the wins. Learn from the
losses.” A quote she remembered from
speaking with her financial advisor in
mid-July of that year.
For Sarah, the first step was clear: take
stock of where she was and where she
wanted to go.
The Goal Setting
Sarah had heard it a hundred times
before—goals need to be specific. Still,
it felt overwhelming to narrow down
her ambitions into neat little packages.
So, she decided to keep it simple:
Business Network International (BNI) | 51
KICKSTARTING 2025

$5,000.
few too many takeout orders, and little
purchases that added up.
Spend more intentionally—no more
late-night scrolling on shopping apps.
Start planning for her dream of
owning a cozy cottage on the edge of
Chattanooga’s Lookout Mountain.
Each goal felt personal, tied to
something she deeply cared about,
and just achievable enough to keep her
motivated.
The Budget Makeover
Sarah knew her budget needed some
love. It had been neglected over
the holidays, with gifts and parties
throwing her off track.
She spent an afternoon combing
through her bank statements. There
it was—the truth staring back at her.
Subscriptions she’d forgotten about, a
Her solution? A budget that worked
for her, not against her. She signed up
for a budgeting app, categorized her
spending, and left a little room for fun
because life wasn’t just about saving.
Tackling Debt
Her credit card balance wasn’t out of
control, but it lingered like an annoying
fly buzzing in her ear. Sarah decided to
tackle it head-on.
She chose the avalanche method—
paying off the highest-interest balance
first while making minimum payments
on the rest. Each month, she’d set aside
a little extra to speed up the process.
With her plan in place, Sarah felt lighter,
as if the weight of her debt had already
started to lift.
52 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
Dreaming Big
It wasn’t all about numbers, though.
Sarah had a vision for her future. That
little cottage near Chattanooga’s
rolling hills wasn’t going to buy itself.
She started researching ways to
boost her income. Maybe it was
time to ask for that raise at work. Or
perhaps she could finally turn her love
of photography into a side hustle,
offering family portraits in the beautiful
Tennessee outdoors.
Her dreams weren’t just daydreams
anymore—they were plans.
A Fresh Perspective
As January unfolded, Sarah found
herself feeling... lighter. She’d said
goodbye to financial clutter, set goals
that mattered, and created a plan that
felt achievable.
But the biggest shift wasn’t in her
bank account. It was in her mindset.
For the first time in years, Sarah felt
in control. She wasn’t just reacting to
life’s challenges—she was proactively
building the life she wanted.
The Power of a Fresh Start
By February, Sarah had already hit
her first small milestone: she’d saved
$500 toward her emergency fund and
paid off the smallest of her credit card
balances. She celebrated with a home-
cooked meal and a quiet moment of
gratitude.
Her journey wasn’t perfect, and she
knew there would be setbacks. But this
time, she was ready.
Because the real power of a new year
isn’t in making resolutions. It’s in taking
the first step, and then the next, and
then the next—until one day, you look
up and see how far you’ve come.
For Sarah, 2025 wasn’t just a year.
It was the beginning of something
bigger: a life lived with intention,
purpose, and hope. And that, she
thought, was worth every bit of effort.
As you step into 2025, maybe Sarah’s
story feels a little like yours. Take a
page from her playbook. Reflect, reset,
and let this year be the one where you
take control. The life you want is closer
than you think—all it takes is that first
step.

Markets: The Power of Local
In the heart of Chattanooga, a revolution
in local food and community support
is thriving, thanks to CHI Markets
(Community Helps Itself). As we navigate
through turbulent economic times,
the significance of supporting local
enterprises like CHI cannot be overstated.
CHI Markets isn't just a marketplace; it's a
lifeline for many, ensuring access to clean,
safe, and locally-sourced food—a vital

increasingly urgent concern.
initiative that feeds thousands and fosters
economic sustainability. In the last two
years alone, CHI Markets, with the help
of corporate sponsorships, has provided

Founded in 2012 by Bates Reed, CHI
Markets sprang from a necessity to
combat the decline in food quality and
increase in food adulteration seen in our
global supply chains. Concerns such as
the approval of lab-grown meats and
the infiltration of low-grade meats from
overseas highlighted the urgent need
for transparency and quality in our food

and community resilience, and inspired by
his loyal dog, Chi, established CHI Markets
to forge a path to food security through
local means.

CHI Markets invites everyone—consumers

The Transformational
Power of Referrals: 4
Stats Every Business
Should Know
How long have you been searching for
the best way to get new clients? As
an entrepreneur, you’ve probably tried
countless marketing strategies to reach
your customers. Yet, despite all your efforts,
getting a steady stream of business can
sometimes feel out of reach. What if the
answer lies in something so simple and
human, but that you may never have thought
of in relation to your business?
• The same principle applies to business
referrals. When a client recommends
your services, it instantly builds trust and
credibility.
Think about the last time you visited a
restaurant or saw a movie that a friend
recommended. You trusted their opinion
and it probably saved you lots of time in
searching and deciding, right? It’s easy to
assume why that’s the case, but for those
who want to dig a little deeper, here’s why
referrals so impactful.
But it doesn’t end there. Referrals aren’t just
a helpful way for prospects to learn about
your company, they improve metrics at
almost every stage of the customer lifecycle,
resulting in better business.
The psychology of Social Proof is at play
here.
• A positive experience from a reliable
person adds a strong sense of confidence.
• We tend to turn to familiar connections in
uncertain situations.

Multiplying Sales Conversion Rate
Your conversion rate is where it all begins.
It is one of the biggest levers on sales,
business growth and ROI. Referrals can
help supercharge your conversion rate
because they’ve already been vouched for
by someone they trust. They know what they
need and are ready to make decisions faster.
So, what comes after conversion?
Boosting Retention Rate
When prospective leads come through
referrals, there is already a relationship and
sense of loyalty established. They trust the
personal endorsement and are more likely
to align their expectations with what your
business offers. This leads to higher retention
rates as well as repeat business, resulting in
increased lifetime value.

Increasing Lifetime Value of Customers
Businesses thrive on long-term relationships
and referred clients tend to be more loyal
than those acquired through other channels.
The result? They start spreading the word
to their network, and you not only get more
repeat business, but also tap into their
network. This is like a ripple effect that
you don’t really get with other marketing
strategies.
So, Why Should Referrals Be Your Core
Marketing Strategy?
• Built-In Trust: Prospects who come
through referrals already trust your
business.
• Stronger Connections: These clients have
a deeper connection to your brand.
• Repeat Business: They’re more likely to
come back, as their initial experience is
validated by someone they know.

By far the easiest broker to work with. He
communicated during all aspects of our long buy and
sale process. He answered numerous questions and
ensured we were clear to close without any issues. 10
out of 10 would use again if needed.

Brian was extremely helpful in helping me buy my first
home. I had so many questions and he helped guide
me through the whole process and all of the stress. I
would highly recommend him to anyone looking to
refinance or buy a home. He responded quickly every
time I reached out and had a wealth of knowledge on
anything I was concerned about.

The entire process was smooth thanks to Brian. He
goes above and beyond to explain all options and is
always available. I am eligible for VA loans and other
lenders encouraged me to use other options, Brian
knows the intricacies of the VA process and saved me
a lot of money and allowed me to use my maximum
benefit. He is also always there to answer any
questions for realtors and was a vital factor in us
securing our house in a difficult market

Brokenness
She was barely 19, home after a long day
of college classes. She looked forward to
relaxing with her dog and a soda. She lived
with her dad; it was just the two of them, and
she couldn’t wait to share stories about her
day.
But the house was dark. Strange. He was
always home by now.
Then she saw him.
She didn’t want the house. She wanted her
daddy back.
Impact
Tragedy and brokenness can strike anyone,
anywhere, at any time. It can show up in
countless ways and leave a lasting mark.
A tragedy can spark fear and uncertainty
that chokes even the strongest of us. Its
aftermath often brings an overwhelming
wave of emotions: guilt, embarrassment,
anger, frustration, confusion, and doubt.
And she screamed. And screamed. And
screamed.
The closest neighbor came rushing outside
as her cries pierced the air. She stumbled out
the front door, yelling, “MY DADDY’S DEAD!
MY DADDY’S DEAD!”
Within moments, the street was filled with
flashing lights—police cars, fire trucks,
ambulances, and concerned neighbors. Even
her father’s three ex-wives showed up. But
it was her 86-year-old grandfather who
brought order to the chaos and took charge
of her. He sent her to stay with her mother
while he and others “sorted things out.”
She was told her father had died of natural
causes. But how is it natural to die before
you’re 50? How is it natural for a 19-yearold
to suddenly make decisions she never
thought she’d face? Who said she knew what
to do next?
Everyone kept saying she was "lucky"
because the house was also in her name.
Lucky? There was nothing lucky about this.
For the 19-year-old, brokenness wasn’t just
about losing her father. It was also about
suddenly facing questions she wasn’t
prepared to answer. What would she do with
the home? What was her next step?
Grief is a deeply personal journey with
ups and downs, marked by overwhelming
memories of what has been lost. And in her
case, it also brought the question of how to
move forward when all she wanted to do was
freeze time.
Options
In the wake of tragedy, it can feel impossible
to envision life ever returning to normal.
Confusion clouds judgment, embarrassment
discourages asking for help, and fear of the
unknown tempts us to retreat into what feels
familiar. These emotions can leave us feeling
isolated, struggling silently, and unsure of
how to move forward.
If you are navigating a time of brokenness,
here are some options to help you begin
taking steps forward:
Business Network International (BNI) | 73
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Acknowledge your feelings. The emotions
you’re experiencing—whether fear, anger,
sadness, or confusion—are normal. You are
not weird, crazy, or needy. This is part of the
human experience.
Start small. Begin by reaching out to
someone you trust. You don’t have to have all
the answers or make big requests right away.
Sometimes, simply asking for a listening ear
can make a world of difference.
Take this
Space
Today!
Prepare before you ask. If you’re ready to
seek help or support, think about what you
need, what you want to say, and who you
want to say it to. Planning ahead can ease
your nerves and help you communicate
clearly.
Be honest and transparent. When exploring
your options, share accurate information
about your situation and what you need.
Honesty helps others provide the most
helpful and appropriate support.
Conclusion
Though the scars of tragedy may never fully
fade, there is hope for healing. Resilience
doesn’t erase the pain but gives you the
strength to move forward. By acknowledging
your feelings, seeking support, and being
open to new options, you can begin to
rediscover freedom and hope.
Remember, the journey isn’t about erasing
the past—it’s about finding the courage to
write the next chapter.

BUSINESS TIPS
Thinking About Selling
Your Business? Ask
Yourself These 8
Crucial Questions First
Selling your business is a big deal—possibly
one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll
ever make. Whether you're eyeing retirement,
chasing a new dream, or just ready for a
change, the journey to selling isn’t just about
slapping a price tag on your company and
calling it a day.
Before you dive in, take a moment to reflect.
Here are the 8 must-ask questions to make
sure you’re on the right track to selling smart.
1. What’s My Business Actually
Worth?
Let’s be honest—you probably have a
number in your head. But is it based on cold,
hard facts or just a gut feeling? Buyers won’t
care about your sentimental attachment;
they want the numbers to make sense. A
professional valuation will help you get real
about your business’s market value.
2. Is My Business Ready for
Prime Time?
Imagine selling your house without fixing the
leaky roof or cleaning up the clutter. Selling
a business is no different. Messy financials,
outdated processes, or weak customer
retention? Those are red flags for buyers. Get
your business in top shape before putting up
the “For Sale” sign.
3. What’s My Endgame?
Are you retiring? Starting a new venture?
Buying a yacht and sailing off into the
sunset? Your goals will shape how you sell.
Do you need a lump sum payout or are you
okay with an earnout structure (aka getting
paid over time)? Figure out what works best
for your financial future.
4. Who’s the Ideal Buyer?
Not every buyer is a good fit. Do you want
someone who will carry on your legacy, or
do you just want the best possible offer, no
matter who takes over? Finding a buyer who
aligns with your company’s culture can help
the transition go smoothly—especially if you
care about what happens after you leave.
5. How Secretive Should I Be?
Short answer? Very. The last thing you want
is for employees, competitors, vendors or
clients to hear about the sale before it’s time.
It could cause uncertainty, panic, and even
lost business. No cryptic social media posts,
76 | BUSINESSCHATT Magazine
no casual mentions at networking events—
keep things under wraps until you're ready to
go public. But once the ink is dry it's okay to
go public.
6. Any Legal or Regulatory
Hurdles?
Is your business heavily regulated? Do you
need specific licenses? If you’re dealing with
things like OSHA, HIPAA, liquor licenses, or
industry-specific rules, make sure everything
is in order. A messy legal situation can scare
buyers away faster than a horror movie jump
scare.
7. How Can I Boost My
Business’s Value Before Selling?
Think of it like flipping a house. Small
changes can lead to a big payday. Are
your profit margins solid? Can you cut
unnecessary expenses? Are your contracts
locked in with customers? A few strategic
moves now can mean a much bigger check
later.
8. How Long Will This Take?
Spoiler: It’s not a weekend project. Most
business sales take 6-12 months, depending
on the industry, the market, and how
prepared you are. There’s marketing, vetting
buyers, negotiations, due diligence, and
closing paperwork—so patience is key.
Rushing the process usually means leaving
money on the table.
Why You Shouldn’t DIY This Sale
Would you perform heart surgery on
yourself? No? Then don’t try to sell your
business alone either. This isn’t the time for
trial and error.
A seasoned business broker knows how to
find the right buyers, negotiate the best
deal, and keep everything running smoothly.
Add in a rock-solid CPA and an experienced
business attorney, and you’ve got yourself a
dream team for a successful sale.
Final Thoughts
Selling your business is more than just a
transaction—it’s the culmination of years
(maybe decades) of hard work. Approach
it strategically, ask the right questions, and
surround yourself with the right people to
make the process as smooth (and profitable)
as possible.
Ready to sell? Make sure you’re prepared,
and when in doubt—get the right experts on
your side.
