COMMENTARY
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the
earth. Genesis 1:1 ESV
Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the
earth was filled with violence. Genesis 6:11 ESV
But understand this, that in the last days there will
come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers
of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without selfcontrol,
brutal, not loving good, treacherous,
reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God, having the appearance
of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such
people. 2 Timothy 3:2 ESV
For they all seek their own interests, not those of
Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:21
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding
cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality
and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example
by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Jude
