Juan Pablo
Dance Till Dawn
Juan Pablo is a person with diverse
style and motivation. He brings a
unique perspective and experience to
the art of dance. He explores themes of
gender, sexuality and identity through
his movements and performance,
challenging traditional notions of
masculinity. He shows that dance can
be a powerful outlet to express oneself.
Aside from dancing, Juan is also a bartender. Respected in the nightlife
community, Juan shares his wide range of experiences both through dance
and mixology. Join Juan at Viva La Heights and get to know him.
INTERVIEW
Hello, Juan. What bar are you working at?
I work at Viva La Heights.
What are some of the bar’s favorite night
themes?
The favorite theme, I think, is sensuality and
meeting new people.
What inspired you to learn to dance
and then to dance for the nightlife?
I always liked dancing since I was
a child, and now I had the
opportunity at one
of the best events
in the USA and
I had to take
advantage
of it.
What music inspired you the most and
why?
The music that inspires me the most is
romantic ballads because that transports me
to good times and memories.
What are you planning for your birthday?
For my birthday, I’m planning to have my
party on January 19th at Viva La Heights,
and I hope all my friends and readers will
attend this event, which will be great.

Tell us a little about yourself, your
hobbies, what you do on your days off
and how your childhood influenced who
you are now.
I am a happy, independent person who
wants to be better every day for myself
and society. I really like sports. I exercise
every day of the year. It relaxes me and
helps me stay focused. I also like singing,
I am a music fan and I do it very well.
My childhood was very happy, with my
family always supporting me and being
an example for me. Giving the best of
my abilities, this helped me develop the
personality I have now.
As a bartender, what drink do you
favor?
As a bartender, I like refreshing cocktails,
with a sweet and sour taste that sits in
the throat, such as a Margarita, Daiquiri,
Mojito.
What’s your favorite thing regarding the
bar?
What I like most about the bar is that
you feel a friendly energy with our clients
and friends. Also, the affordable and
comfortable prices, without leaving aside
the good music and the vibe of the people.
What does 2025 (and beyond)
hold for you?
This 2025, I will go in search of
new projects for myself, where I
develop my skills and improve as
a professional. I am also thinking
of moving to Florida, to a slightly
warmer place.

YAMIL X, EL PATRÓN DE LA NOCHE
NYC Gay Parties have carved out spaces in the nightlife that have offered an
important alternative place to enjoy the excitement and creativity of the Latino
community. Yamil has been hosting and working the clubs and the parties
in several of the New York bars and has had great success in his endeavors.
His parties emphasize a place where you can dance freely, express yourself,
celebrate and connect with others who want to share the experience.
Get Out shared questions and answers with Yamil about his parties, which
provide warmth and acceptance. We also talked about the resilience of the Latino
community and the vital role he plays in it.
INTERVIEW >>>
Since we last spoke several
years ago, what changes
have you made to your
parties?
Since we met back in 2018,
everything changed after
covid. NYC is not a 24/7 open
city anymore–inflation has
been a bit hard on clubs, bars
and all nightlife–but we are still
here, working nonstop doing
Latin events around the city.
What parties are you
hosting, and what nights
and venues?
I’ve been doing Battle Hymn’s
holiday events. Thursdays at
Leche @ Hush Bar, Fridays
at Boxers HK for Latinx,
Saturdays at Boxers Chelsea
for the Viva La Vida party
And Sundays at the Ritz for
Papito.
What’s new on the Latino
scene regarding New York’s
nightlife?
I love this new BK event called
Papi Juice. And Mercury in
Reggaeton, giving
a new flavor to the
Latino scene.
Tell us about your
favorite party of the
year.
I don’t have a specific
favorite event. I
always support NYC
nightlife in full effect.
What’s new for you
in 2025 and beyond?
We start a new Latino
Papito Sunday at the
Ritz.I’m very excited
about the new event
called Escuela at
Balcon Salon on
Tuesdays in HK.
We have a new
Wednesday noche
de escándalo uptown
and a collaboration
with Black Market, a new Afro
house rave event in BK. I’ve
been pretty busy these nights
while still hosting Meat circuit
events and our upcoming
Summer Latino Boat events
El Lechero and Chupa party
at Blue for MDW with Kedwin
Zapata.

Bring us back to the
Escuelita days. What
are the differences as to
today’s club days?
New York City changed so
much, it’s been hard these
days. Back in the Escuelita
nights, everyone was
engaged to the shows and
dance floor, and this newer
generation, they are most
of the time on their phones.
There’s a new generation
mixing up with millennials
and Gen X, so we have to
adapt to the new and keep
moving forward. At the end
of the night, the crowds
come out for the beats, the
boys and the safe place
venues that we plan and put
together week after week.
What more do you foresee
changing in the nightlife?
Everyone is moving faster
these days, I think, musicwise,
Latino beats becoming
even more popular and
especially the Colombian
and Puerto Rican. Perreo
music and Dominican
Dembow, taking over the
dancefloors.
You are part of the team
at Viva La Saturdays
that continues to break
ground in NYC with DJ
Alex Mendez, 5-6 gogos
and two VIP areas. Tell
us about this big night in
Chelsea on Saturdays.
Yes, I’ve been working with
Kedwin Zapata and George
Maestre–he produced Viva
La Vida at Boxers Saturdays,
full of Latinos where
everyone is welcome. The
music by DJ Alex Mendez,
the dancers, the VIP area.
“ufff” is the best way to
describe it. That is one of
my favorite parties to host,
and we have so many new
surprises for this year, so
stay tuned.
BOXERS NYC BARS UNVEIL 2025
BARTENDER CALENDAR
BENEFITING HOMELESS LGBTQ+ YOUTH
It’s that exciting time of year again! Boxers NYC is thrilled to announce the
release of its highly anticipated annual Boxers NYC Bartender Calendar for
2025. This year’s edition is more daring, artistic and meaningful than ever
before, as it celebrates the 15-year anniversary of Boxers NYC and benefits
homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
The 2025 calendar was shot on location at both of Boxers’ NYC’s iconic
bars, blending the raw allure of the male form with the aesthetic charm of the
venues. This year’s theme is centered on embracing natural beauty, with all
participating bartenders boldly posing fully nude for charity. Each stunning
image gives fans a unique glimpse into the artistry of Boxers NYC while
spotlighting the bartenders in an entirely new light.
Proceeds from the calendar will benefit Out My Closet, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of under-resourced
and unhoused LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. Through specialized clothing
donations, counseling services, and educational workshops in NYC and
Miami, Out My Closet provides vital resources and support to individuals who
need it most.
“At Boxers NYC, we are incredibly proud to partner once again with Out My
Closet,” says owner Bob Fluet, who opened the first Boxers NYC location in
Chelsea in 2010 with Rob Hynds. “This year’s calendar is a bold step forward,
not only artistically, but in its mission to raise awareness and funds for a
cause we deeply care about. By leveraging the power of this provocative
initiative, we hope to make a meaningful impact in the lives of LGBTQ+
youth.”
Boxers NYC invites its loyal patrons and community members to support
this initiative by purchasing the calendar. Each purchase not only offers a
year of stunning imagery, but contributes directly to Out My Closet’s vital
work. “Your support means the world to us,” adds Fluet. “We are so excited
to share this work of art with you and hope it brings joy and inspiration
throughout the year ahead.”
The Boxers NYC Bartender Calendar 2025 is available for purchase at both
New York City locations and online at boxersnyc.com.
