013

THE JOURN EY BEGIN S

David's entrepreneurial journey took flight

in 20 12 when he ventured into the world of

freelance photography, with a keen focus

on sporting events. His journey, marked by

resilience and determination, is a

testament to the transformative power of

entrepreneurship.

In the early stages David faced a

significant challenge. He hesitated to

reinvest in his business, fearing losing the

money if he did not set aside all profits. This

scarcity mindset initially hindered the

business's growth. However, he overcame

this fear and it eventually led to a

transformative shift in perspective.

David's journey took a turn when he broke

free from thinking. He came to understand

that money is not a stagnant resource but a

dynamic force that fuels growth. This shift in

perspective was a game- changer.

It empowered David to reinvest profits

strategically, leading to improved

operations, expanded product lines, and

advanced marketing efforts.

David fondly recalls the early days of his

journey, where every small victory felt like a

monumental achievement.

The first seamless order fulfillment, the first

glowing testimonial from a satisfied client,

and the first time his podcast entered the

Top 10 0 list on Apple Podcasts were the

sparks that ignited David's belief in his

path. They were the tangible proof that

his hard work and perseverance were

paying off.

LAUN CHIN G THE FIRST OF M AN Y

In 20 15, David launched his first real

registered business, Ratchet M onkey Shop,

an e-commerce store selling home and

garden goods, and began freelancing as a

digital marketer.

With his first marketing client secured via

UpWork, he built the company and

ultimately worked with industry giants like

Grant Cardone, Frank Kern and notable

clients including UBC, Shopify, Fairchild

TV, and M odelo. These achievements are a

testament to David's entrepreneurial

prowess and ability to secure high-profile

partnerships.

20 18 was a pivotal year for David as he

attended a podcast mastermind hosted by

Jay Wong just one day after the death of a

close family member.

He vividly remembers walking into the

venue, knowing his life would change. He

met Justin Tsui, who became his first

mentor and introduced him to the

Law of Attraction.

Inspired, David launched his podcast,

' The Self M astery Show ,' documenting his

journey toward becoming the best version

of himself. The podcast quickly gained

traction, becoming a ' N ew and

N otew orthy' podcast and reaching

the Top 10 0 list on Apple Podcast within

the first week, alongside giants like

Lew is How es, Jay Shetty, and Tim Ferris.

015

In 20 19, David co-founded a B2B

marketing company that quickly grew

to an international team of 15, servicing

clients in Canada, the USA, Australia,

Singapore, and Germany. The

pandemic lockdowns worked in his

favour as business professionals sought

to replace in-person networking with

LinkedIn, where the company was

positioned as an expert.

Before selling in 20 23, David gained

valuable experience in operational

management, people operations, and

enterprise sales. The company had also

ventured into government grants to

help clients fund their investments.

Later that year, David became a

co-founder and partner of Oration

Global, and in the past year alone,

have helped over 820 Canadian

businesses access over $52 million in

funding.

He focused on identifying and nurturing

these high-impact partnerships to

jumpstart their grow th.

This involved investing time and

resources into building strong

relationships, understanding partner

needs and goals, and finding ways to

create win-win situations.

Then came the collaborations on joint

ventures, co- hosted events, and

cross- promoted services. By aligning

efforts, they achieved exponential

growth that would not have otherwise

been possible.

Additionally, David leveraged

successes to attract more high-quality

partners.

Sharing case studies, testimonials, and

success stories helped demonstrate the

value they could bring to potential

partners. This credibility made it easier

to form new alliances and expand their

network.

A N EW PARTN ERSHIP

David met fiancee Emily Chow in

high school, but their romance did not

blossom until they studied together at

the University of British Columbia.

"It didn't take me long to realize that

she was going to be the person who

would stand by my side through every

challenge and triumph."

After seven years, he proposed while on

vacation in Big Sur, California.

"Emily's drive, passion, and

unw avering commitment to our shared

goals made it clear that she was in it

for the long haul, dedicated to building

a future together and overcoming any

obstacles that came our way."

017

As a young couple, David and Emily

know they must work together to

move forward professionally and

personally.

"When people speak of work/ life

balance, I always counter with the

idea of w ork- life integration. Yes,

there is a balance to be made, but

that is not to say that the two sides

cannot coexist."

"At the beginning, I had the

unrealistic expectation that I

needed to separate work from my

life outside of w ork, which made it

harder because there were times

when I just needed to work on

something in the evening or on the

weekends. Not tending to those

work activities because I was

trying to strike a balance just

added more stress to other areas

of my life."

"Another way to think about it is

that your competitors will not wait

for you, so what are you willing to

do to stay ahead and relevant?"

"This is where you can put your

personal opinion forward. This

question is important because of

the hustle you have exhibited in the

past as a single man."

"Now, you will get married and

must modify your work to find a

balance. People are always curious

about what this looks like for

people they admire."

GUIDIN G THE N EXT GEN ERATION

David has started giving back by

mentoring young entrepreneurs

through organizations like

Futurpreneurs and N ew Ventures

BC. This experience has been

incredibly rewarding, allowing him

to share his knowledge and insights

with the next generation of

business leaders.

"When I meet new Futurepreneur

members, I am always struck by

their emerging talent and

innovative ideas. I am noticing a

shift towards abstract thinking and

creative problem-solving,

reflecting these individuals' quality,

drive, and motivation. Their passion

for pushing boundaries and

exploring new possibilities instills

hope for a future where their

collective efforts lead to

groundbreaking advancements

and positive change in our field."

New Ventures BC is a natural fit for

David, who shares, "To be able to

be a part of an organization that

recognizes, encourages, and

develops entrepreneurship

regardless of age or background

is very fulfilling and exciting. I know

that so much talent is out there

shaping the future of tech. I am

grateful to be part of a community

providing resources that were not

as readily available during my

early days."

019

ORATION GLOBAL

From the beginning, Oration Global has

presented a business model to help owners

secure financing, grow businesses, and

reduce costs. This unique approach follows a

company's natural progression from start-up

to maturity.

"Another aspect of our model is that our

financing and cost-reduction services are

10 0 % performance- based. Unlike others

who charge a fee regardless of the

outcome, Oration Global only makes money

if our clients successfully secure funding or

save money," says David.

"By the end of 20 25, Oration Global aims to

help Canadian business owners access over

$20 0 million in grants and financing.

This substantial injection of funds into the

economy will empower businesses to

innovate, expand, and thrive. We are

committed to playing a pivotal role in the

growth and success of Canadian

enterprises, ensuring they have the resources

they need to reach their full potential."

The vision for Oration Global and the OG

Consortium to become a premiere business

hub, creating a vibrant ecosystem where

business owners come to grow and access a

comprehensive range of services. This hub

will be a one- stop destination for financing,

marketing, cost reduction, and strategic

planning, all delivered by experts who are

masters in their respective fields.

SPIRIT RIDGE RESORT | Osoyoos, BC

W CR

At the entrance to Phantom Creek

Estates winery, visitors are awe-struck

at two female figures, each seven

metres tall, winged and poised to take

flight but tethered to the earth by a

slender waterfall of coated bronze.

Wu Ching Ru' s ' Pro Terra et N atura'

towers above the lush terroir as a

testament to her unwavering

commitment to environmental

awareness. This powerful installation,

one of half a dozen worldwide, depicts

two spirits of nature, mother and

daughter, seeking a sanctuary to

inhabit and their delicate connection

to our planet.

"'Pro Terra et Natura' is the perfect

first welcome to the winery," said

François M ateo, Managing Director of

Phantom Creek. "It captures everything

we're about: it represents our

commitment to creation, to art and

culture, and to being careful stewards

of this land. It speaks to our

responsibility to the community and to

what we aspire to accomplish, which is

to transform the landscape by

challenging the status quo."

031

Wu, who is of aboriginal Taiw anese

lineage, visited Canada and Phantom

Creek Winery for the first time since the

sculptures were installed in 20 19. She feels

they are well grounded against the natural,

breathtaking backdrop of the Black Sage

Bench. These sculptures, a significant part

of Wu's artistic journey, now stand as a

testament to her growth and the

culmination of her unique artistic vision.

"I have been yearning to visit Phantom

Creek, to see the sculptures in person, their

wings spread wide against the mesmerizing

blue sky of the Valley, surrounded by the

rich foliage and spectacular scenery," said

Wu. "I am very grateful that my creation has

found its home here."

PHAN TOM CREEK RESIDEN CY

In September 20 23, Wu was in residence at

the winery, drawing inspiration from its

surroundings to create 20 individual

collectible w ine- box art pieces. This

collaboration was a unique opportunity for

Wu to immerse herself in the winery's

environment and create pieces that

resonate with its essence.

Winery visitors could watch her work, and

many took part in a special dinner to

celebrate the artist's passion, cultural

diversity, fine wines and food, and the

exciting new opportunities envisioned by

the artist and the brand. Wu also designed

and installed a floral arrangement to mark

this exclusive collaboration.

"Emotions play an essential part in my work.

Serenity, modesty, sadness, tranquillity, and

joy feature prominently. I become entirely

engrossed in my subject. I shut out the

outside world, which, in oriental

philosophy, is extremely important. Only

when you can completely concentrate are

you at peace with yourself."

ORIGIN S OF THE ARTIST

Wu Ching Ru, was born on 17 August 1961 in

the urban township of Fenglin in the

Huatung Valley of Eastern Taiw an. From

childhood, she was taught the tribal

traditions of her ancestors and, above all,

the love and respect of all living things.

Unsurprisingly, by the time Wu was 17, she

had already developed a passion for

flow er arranging, emphasizing simplicity,

elegance, and harmony. Her love and

appreciation for the immense beauty of

creation became the common link in each

of her works. Driven by this passion, Wu

studied design and oriental humanities.

Wu Ching Ru completed her studies in 1984

and married soon after. She then moved to

the USA, where she stayed for two years.

There, she began to express herself through

painting and calligraphy while exploring

the differences between Eastern and

Western aesthetics. This contrast inspired

Wu to create a new kind of oriental beauty.

033

In 1993, Wu moved to the N etherlands,

where she studied Western sculpting and

bronze casting. This was quickly followed

by her first public exhibitions? held in

Europe to great acclaim? and by 1996,

Wu had decided to become a full-time

sculptor and artist.

In 20 0 2, Wu was signed by the prestigious

Halcyon Gallery, London, in a

relationship that lasted 20 years. These

next decades were a whirlwind of

creativity, with 50 solo show s throughout

Europe and Asia. Today, Wu's work can be

found worldwide in private homes,

gardens, public parks, and city squares.

Her artwork is in significant collections

worldwide, including those established in

the UK, the USA, continental Europe, the

M iddle East, and throughout Asia.

Multiple works are on permanent display

in museums in China, and 12 monumental

public sculptures have been installed on

three continents.

While the subject of Wu's work reflects her

passion for Asian history, legend and

religion, her process is deeply influenced

by it, too.

"I become entirely engrossed in my

subject. I shut out the outside world, which,

in oriental philosophy, is extremely

important. Only when you can completely

concentrate are you at peace with

yourself."

035

Wu Ching Ru's international journey and

feelings of displacement are often present in

her work, creating a communication bridge

between East and West. This personal

connection is apparent in her art, engaging

the audience and fostering a sense of

connection.

A beautiful manifestation of this is Wu's

' Fountain of Blessings,' a public installation

in Xintiandi Shanghai that merges oriental

tradition and myth with Western techniques.

This sculpture group has become one of the

most photographed in China.

Other works, her ' M other and Child' bronzes,

celebrate motherhood while also touching on

the orphan's feelings, reflecting on her

childhood and a career that has taken her far

from home.

Since 20 0 8, Wu has lived and worked

mainly in Shanghai. In 20 11, her creation

'Pro Terra et Natura' was selected for public

placement in Lu Jia Zhui Central Park,

located in Shanghai's financial district. The

thirteen- metre- high installation was chosen

from over 1,0 0 0 proposals to be placed in

the green oasis at the base of three of the

most imposing skyscrapers in China.

'Pro Terra et Natura' features two winged

mythical figures, representing earth and

nature, their grace and placement

demonstrating their delicate relationship with

our world amidst the deterioration of our

natural environment.

The installation of these two sculptures

coincided with major exhibitions of Wu's work

in China. The monumental work is now

recognized as an official landmark of the city.

Drawing on her lifetime love of nature,

'Pro Terra et Natura' captures serenity, hope,

and harmony to convey its important

message of environmental conservation

through its monumental form.

This recognition of Wu's art did not make her

complacent. Starting in 20 12, Wu took

inspiration from Zen philosophy to create

works that capture the pursuit of

enlightenment and the search for the true self,

free from modern life's distractions. Her

perception of Zen is not necessarily religious

but rather an identity and principles that

guide her on a profoundly personal level.

This philosophy is represented in her body of

work, ' Beyond Zen,' featured in Halcyon

Gallery's 20 17 summer exhibition, Water and

Bronze. Each art piece skillfully captures the

intangible concept of the spiritual journey in

bronze's hard and unpredictable material.

That same year, during the 20 17 BRICS

international relations summit in Xiamen,

China, the Chinese government brought

together a collection of outstanding works

covering the last 80 0 years of Chinese art.

037

The collection featured Wu's 1.5 metre

bronze sculpture ' Endless,' from the

'Beyond Zen' series, a natural choice to

capture the continuous evolution of the

oriental tradition and aesthetic for

modern times.

It was during these last busy years that

Wu experienced life- threatening health

issues and was hospitalized for an

extended period in her native city,

Hualien. After a lengthy recovery period

at a mountain retreat, Wu Ching Ru and

her family decided to stay. Wu now works

from her studio in the mountains near

where she grew up.

Amidst the beauty of nature at her home,

she is in the midst of a new chapter of

environmental awareness and protection

programme featuring additional beautiful

sculptures and global installations.

"My only art teacher is the creator; my

only inspirational source are his creations.

When the mind is pure, that is where you

can find amazing beauty; In my works, I

endeavour to capture my appreciation

for these wonders."

"It's the quieting of self that opens the eye

of the creative. It's the return to the soul

that allows us to hear what is all around."

purveyor, M anuel Bernaschek.

This sponsored series provides a unique

opportunity to hear the stories of the

notable pianists and performers who

have visited our beautiful city and spent

time with one of the exquisite Fazioli

pianos in the downtown core.

Today, we are proud to present four

accomplished women who have been

showcased and are to be celebrated

for their talent, dedication, and

perseverance in a world that often

underestimates them.

An accomplished pianist, composer, and

producer, Chloe Flow er is making

waves in the music industry with her

unique blend of classical and pop

music, which she coined " POPSICAL."

Her self-titled debut album, released in

20 21, introduced this innovative sound,

combining sweet melodies, epic strings,

and hip-hop beats, leaving fans eager

for more.

In addition to her musical endeavours,

Chloe is a passionate advocate against

human trafficking and a vocal

supporter of inclusive music education.

043

In October 20 22, she received

The Last Girl' s Impact Aw ard for

her significant contributions to

anti-human trafficking efforts. Her

unwavering commitment to these

causes is genuinely commendable.

Chloe has become a prominent

figure in the music and fashion

industries through her exceptional

musical talent and captivating style.

show-stopping performance with

Cardi B at the 20 19 Grammy Aw ards

RACHEL N AOM I KUDO

Rachel's musical journey is a unique

blend of cultures and experiences.

Born in Washington, DC,

to Japanese- Korean parents, she

began her studies with Emilio del

Rosario at the M usic Institute of

Chicago.

Her childhood in Japan, her return to

Chicago to pursue a musical life, her

participation in chamber music and

high school orchestra, her

appearance on ?From the Top?on

N PR, and her studies with Kum- Sing

Lee in Vancouver, all contribute to

the rich tapestry of her musical

career.

Her advice for young pianists is a

testament to this belief. ?As for my

advice for young pianists, it?s

essential to find a balance between

discipline and passion. You should

practice regularly and hone your

skills, but you also need to stay

connected to the joy and inspiration

that drew you to music in the first

place. Don?t be afraid to take risks

and try new things, and always stay

true to your unique voice and

perspective."

" M usic is a lifelong journey!?

047

Rachel's belief in the transformative

power of music is unwavering. She is

committed to sharing this power with

the broadest possible audience to

foster cultural engagement and human

connection.

M anuel Bernaschek, founder and

owner of Show case Pianos, felt the

choice to invite Rachel to play at the

launch event (December 20 23) was

exquisite and fitting.

?The amazing thing about Rachel

Naomi Kudo is that she didn?t come to

just ?play the pieces.? Rachel truly

delivered a top-quality performance,

which was the perfect complement to

the stunning setting and wonderful

acoustics of Kengo Kuma?s building in

the Alberni development.?

Rachel has announced her 20 25

schedule and will be performing in

Italy and Switzerland, and sitting on

the jury of the 11th National Chopin

Piano Competition in Miami, Florida.

and artistry. Born in Vancouver and

raised in M ontreal to Taiw anese parents,

Celine's passion for music began at an

early age.

Her classical training as a pianist soon

propelled her to the international stage,

where she graced esteemed venues such

as Carnegie Hall in N ew York and the

Benaroya Hall in Seattle, all before the

age of 18.

Having been nurtured under the guidance

of renowned piano teachers such as

seamlessly with various artists and

musicians, from international opera

singers to classical instrumentalists.

This spirit extends beyond performance;

she actively engages in music production

and songwriting. Notably, Celine has

collaborated with her brother, a

professional cellist currently immersed in

the study of music in Florida.

Celine's love for the stage is more than

just a passion; it is a calling . Her desire

to share her musical creations with a

broader audience is evident in her social

that gained attention for their

soul-stirring renditions and compositions

to her notable presence on social media,

enchanting melodies and travels.

Her love for the stage is palpable, and it

fuels her musical journey.

pianos, and the elegant grooves that

PHA NTOM CREEK ESTA TES | Oliver, BC

P

CPhantom Creek Estates is a sought-after

winery on the renowned Black Sage Bench

in BC's Okanagan Valley. Famous for its

exquisite single-vineyard Bordeaux-style

blends and Alsatian-style white wines, the

winery continually sets new benchmarks for

Canadian winemaking. It boldly explores

innovative techniques while upholding

traditional methods.

063

Guided by the consulting winemaker

Oliver Humbrecht, Phantom Creek

remains steadfast in its dedication to

sustainable viticulture practices.

Emphasizing environmental stewardship

and utilizing organic and biodynamic

methods, the winery prioritizes the

well-being of the land and vines.

Phantom Creek Estate Winery recently

achieved a significant milestone by

garnering accolades at the esteemed

Decanter Wine Aw ards. The winery

proudly received ten medals, with the

Phantom Creek Vineyard Cuvée 20 20

achieving the highly esteemed

Gold Aw ard with 95 points. This

accomplishment celebrates the winery's

unwavering dedication and ardour, a

source of pride for all.

M ark Beringer, the Director of

Winemaking, expressed gratitude and

pride in the team's steadfast

commitment to excellence.

"We are honoured to have our wines

recognized by such a distinguished

panel of judges at the Decanter Wine

Awards. These accolades are a

testament to the dedication and passion

of our entire Phantom Creek team. Every

step of our process, from the careful

attention to our vineyards to the expert

craftsmanship in winemaking, has

contributed to this remarkable

achievement and reaffirms our mission to

create wines that capture the essence of

our vineyards."

FIVE DECADES OF GROWIN G

In 1977, Helmut Becker led the

groundbreaking Becker Project, which

ambitiously introduced over 30 different

grape varieties to the Okanagan Valley.

This initiative not only proved that

European reds could thrive in this region

but also marked a pivotal moment for

the local wine industry, catalyzing a

shift towards cultivating higher-quality

Vitis Vinifera grape varieties.

In 1993, Harry M cWatters astutely

recognized Becker Vineyard's potential

for cultivating late-ripening Bordeaux

grape varieties. That same year, the

inaugural planting of M erlot, Cabernet

Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc vines in

the southern Okanagan region took

place; subsequently, Syrah was also

integrated into the vineyard's cultivation.

Viticulture expert Richard Cleave

spearheaded the development of this

vineyard in 1996. Since then, it has

gained widespread acclaim as one of

Canada's most exceptional single

vineyards, consistently yielding premium

wines.

Kobau Vineyard traces its roots back to

1929, when it functioned as an apple

orchard. In 20 0 5, its significant potential

was recognized, leading to the initiation

of grapevine planting, with a primary

focus on varieties from the Cabernet

family, Viognier, and Syrah.

065

Fueled by a profound passion for

Bordeaux-style wine, founder Richter Bai

acquired the esteemed Becker Vineyard

and Phantom Creek Vineyard, thereby

laying the cornerstone for Phantom

Creek Estates' extraordinary legacy.

Phantom Creek Estates made a grand

entrance onto the global wine scene in

20 20. Shortly thereafter, the

establishment commenced offering

its exquisite culinary creations,

providing a perfect complement to its

exceptional wines.

The estate remains steadfast in its

commitment to organic agriculture.

By abstaining from the use of synthetic

herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers,

they are dedicated to improving the

vineyard's soil, enhancing biodiversity,

and restoring the natural equilibrium

of the land.

At Phantom Creek, the team places a

strong emphasis on cultivating our

vineyards in a sustainable and

ecologically friendly manner. This involves

the meticulous application of natural

fertilizers and employing traditional

artisanal techniques to nurture the

vineyards.

Additionally, they prioritize the cultivation

of cover crops to prevent erosion, enrich

soil health, and promote biodiversity. This

holistic approach stands as a testament

to their steadfast dedication, all

vineyards at Phantom Creek Estates

received organic certification in 20 21

from Ecocert.

.

PHAN TOM CREEK VIN EYARD

Sharing its nomenclature with the

renowned winery, Phantom Creek

Vineyard is situated on the lower terraces

of Black Sage Bench and is a relatively

modest 8- acre expanse.

Respected wine critic John Schreiner

lauds Phantom Creek as "one of the

highest quality vineyards in the

Okanagan." The exceptional wines

derived from this unique vineyard have

been awarded with over 85 wine awards

and clinched the title of " Best Wine in

Canada" on three occasions.

BECKER VIN EYARD

Tucked into the embrace of the

Okanagan Highland mountains, Becker

Vineyard is nestled on the steep slopes of

the upper terraces of the Black Sage

Bench.

The vineyard benefits from its lofty

altitude, granting its vines an extended

growing season. The prolonged sunlight

and invigorating cool breeze from the

north work in harmony to shape its

distinct microclimate. The wines that

emerge from Becker Vineyard are

imbued with pronounced flavours yet

manage to retain an exquisite vibrancy

and refreshing crispness.

Helmut Becker, a distinguished German

viticulturist and former chief of the

Geisenheim Grape Breeding Institute,

laid the foundations of Becker Vineyard

in 1977.

067

It was an ambitious endeavour,

especially considering that viticulture in

the Okanagan regions at the time

predominantly focused on cultivating

Vitis Labrusca and other hybrid grape

varieties. Becker's pioneering project

showcased that Vitis Vinifera could not

only survive but thrive in BC, ultimately

leading the local wine industry toward

a transition to this higher-quality grape

variety.

KOBAU VIN EYARD

Nestled in the southern region of the

esteemed Golden M ile Bench, this

expansive 63- acre vineyard is

strategically positioned to benefit from

the gentle embrace of the morning sun.

Kobau Vineyard is dedicated to the

cultivation of an array of international

grape varieties, including the illustrious

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc,

Syrah, and Viognier. Enriched by the

fertile gravel soil, the wines that

emanate from the Kobau Vineyard are

celebrated for their distinctive mineral

nuances, intricate structure, and

harmonious equilibrium, all of which are

a testament to the unparalleled terroir

of the Golden Mile Bench.

Notably, the Kobau Vineyard Syrah

captivated judges and enthusiasts alike

at the illustrious ' Judgment of BC 20 15,'

spearheaded by the esteemed

Steven Spurrier, securing distinguished

acclaim and the highest honours.

069

EVERN DEN SPRIN G VIN EYARD

The Similkameen Valley, situated beyond

Kobau Mountain, boasts unique

geological features that create the

perfect environment for viticulture.

The soil in this region holds a rich glacial

history marked by intense rock

metamorphosis. The interplay of

abundant stones, granite, gravel, and silty

soil provides a robust foundation for the

root systems of the vineyards.

In 20 17, under the expert guidance of

Olivier Humbrecht M W, Phantom Creek

Estates made the decision to introduce

two noble Alsatian varieties,

Pinot Gris and Riesling, to the prestigious

Evernden Spring Vineyard.

Painstaking adjustments were made to

accommodate the growth characteristics

of these distinguished varieties.

Furthermore, careful consideration was

given to the vineyard design. The

precisely distributed 2- acre parcel

ensures that the grapes reach optimal

ripeness, aligning perfectly with the

Austrian Foudres barrels. This meticulous

planning ensures that each 2-acre batch

of grapes undergoes complete

fermentation in a single barrel, allowing

for the unique terroir expression of each

plot to shine through.

UN IQUE TECHN IQUE

Phantom Creek Estates employs the

world's most advanced optical analysis

sorting machines to select the highest

quality grapes at the beginning of the

winemaking process. The winery was

conceived in accordance with the

' gravity flow ' philosophy, which

leverages the natural force of gravity.

With three different production areas

arranged vertically and automatic juice

transfer pipelines, each stage of wine

production ensures minimal external

influence on its quality. This architectural

design safeguards the wine's inherent

flavours and guarantees exceptional

quality.

Different types of oak fermentation

barrels and stainless- steel fermentation

tanks are used to achieve various styles of

wine. Every fermentation tank has a

temperature control system, allowing the

winemaker to monitor and adjust it 24

hours a day.

The winery has its state- of- the- art

laboratory, where almost all tests

can be conducted in-house, enabling

the winemaking team to receive

reports immediately. The winery has an

annual production capacity of 50 ,0 0 0

cases of w ine.

071

BIODYN AM IC FARM IN G PRACTICES

Since 20 17, Phantom Creek Estates has

dedicated itself to the exploration and

implementation of biodynamic farming

practices.

At the vineyard, this entails a steadfast

avoidance of chemical pesticides and

fertilizers, with agricultural activities

guided by a series of natural remedies

and an astronomical calendar. This

holistic approach is aimed at fostering

a self- sustaining and flourishing

ecosystem, extending from the soil to

the grapevines and culminating in the

wine itself.

Biodynamics epitomizes a profound

contemplation of wine production,

striving for the utmost purity in

expression.

Each bottle authentically captures the

terroir of its origin, the intricacies of the

vintage, and the distinct characteristics

of the grapes.

Embracing biodynamics is more than

just a choice for producing exceptional

wine; it is a tribute to nature,

contributing to the preservation and

sustainability of the planet.

Furthermore, beyond the vineyards,

Phantom Creek Estates upholds the

principles of sustainable development.

OFFERIN G TOURS & TASTIN GS

with a silicon balance spring and new

components made of non- magnetic

material, are a testament to the brand's

commitment to innovation.

Longines has launched a dynamic new

campaign just in time for summer called

" A Life in a Day."

Elegance should not be reserved only for

special occasions.

The ultimate everyday Conquest says it loud

and clear. An evocation of daring and

creative spirit, the collection was the first

Longines watch line to have its name

protected in 1954 by the Sw iss Federal

Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI).

Over time, the Conquest line has evolved in

design and technology while remaining true

to its original spirit, a blend of boldness,

timelessness, and sporty elegance.

Unveiled in 20 23, the new generation of

Conquest watches is being extended this

year to mark the 70 th anniversary of the

collection, with exclusive new models for all

Longines lovers.

The new timepieces come in various colours,

materials and sizes: 30 mm, 34 mm and

38 mm for the three-hand versions and

42 mm for the chronographs.

The 20 24 models of the collection are

designed for durability and functionality.

They come in a stainless steel or

bi- material case with alternating polished

and satin-finished surfaces. These

timepieces are water-resistant up to 10 bar

(10 0 m) and have a transparent screw-on

case back.

All these timepieces are powered by

exclusive Longines self-winding mechanical

movements equipped with a silicon balance

spring and new components made of

non-magnetic material.

The result is resistance to magnetic fields

that exceeds the ISO 764 standard by a

multiple of ten, ensuring the reliability and

quality of this collection.

A WATCH FOR EVERYDAY

In a campaign that features the heroines of

the new Longines campaign, the

Ambassadors of Elegance Zhao Liying ,

Suzy, and Barbara Palvin, the 34 mm

three-hand versions feature a green, pink, or

blue dial.

Day or night, no matter your footwear, these

models are designed to suit any setting or

activity, ensuring you always look your best.

Elegant and understated, the dial has

external snailing, making the colour more

vibrant and intense. It features eleven

applied silvered hour markers and a date

aperture at 6 o'clock. The hour markers

at 3, 9 and 12 o'clock, coated with

Super- LumiN ova®, like the polished

rhodium-plated hour and minute hands,

offer optimum daily and night legibility.

The 34 mm version is also available in

several other colours, with a steel case,

diamond-set or not, or a bi-material case,

with a rose gold cap on the bezel and a

rose gold crown.

Comfortable and versatile, these watches

come with stainless steel bracelets with

triple safety folding clasp or coloured

rubber straps with hourglass motifs, ensuring

a perfect fit for any wrist and any occasion.

119

FITS ALL WRISTS

The Conquest three-hand model is also

available to fit all wrists with new 30 mm

and 38 mm steel or diamond-set steel

cases. The 30 mm variant is available

blue or green sunray dials, or white

mother-of-pearl with diamonds as hour

markers. The 38 mm dial comes in silver,

green, blue, black, or champagne sunray.

SPORTS N EW COLOURS

The 42 mm chronograph version has also

been extended with new variations of

silvered matt dials. In blue or green, the

sub-second dial at 3 o'clock and the

counters at 6 and 9 o'clock match the

ceramic tachymetric bezel. These

models and the champagne-coloured

version launched in 20 23 are offered on

new blue, green or black rubber straps

with hourglass motifs to match the dial.

These chronographs are also available

with a stainless steel bracelet.

VA CHERON CONSTA NTIN | A lberni Street

V

C

A Vacheron Constantin watch is a

masterpiece that transcends its individual

components. From a simple sketch and

technical drawings, a world of shapes,

colours, and textures is born. The intricate

fusion of complex mechanical engineering

and design, the meticulous attention to

detail, and the artisanal intelligence

behind each piece evoke a sense of

grace and spark emotions.

Based on a formal mathematical study,

Vacheron Constantin timepieces are thus

endowed with a touch of soulfulness and

elegance representing the ultimate

expression of artistic talent. The classicism

of the Traditionnelle collection, the

minimalism of the Patrimony watches, the

allure of Égérie, and the sporty-chic spirit

of Overseas Collection all vividly illustrate

this alchemy within which artistry is

inspired by geometrical shapes,

expressed through Vacheron Constantin's

20 24 theme.

The new Vacheron Constantin Overseas

collection introduces a striking

feature-intense green dials. This unique

addition, along with the interchangeable

straps in pink gold, sets these four new

models apart from the rest of the

collection.

127

In perfect harmony with the spirit of travel,

this new hue can now be found on the dials of

the 35 mm gemset, 41 mm date, 42.5 mm

chronograph and 41 mm dual time models.

Water-resistant to 150 metres, each of these

new timepieces is equipped with a

top-quality self-winding calibre featuring

meticulous finishing.

The movements feature an oscillating w eight

engraved with the collection's emblematic

compass rose. The pink gold bracelet with a

folding clasp is easily adjustable on these

four models, just as on all Overseas watches.

It can be replaced with a green rubber

strap, interchangeable pin buckle.

GORGEOUS N EW COLOURS

By endowing the dials of four pink gold

models with an intense green colour, the

Maison has enhanced the adventurous

vocation of the Overseas collection.

This new hue breaks with the classic colour

codes of Overseas watches: black, silver,

pinkish beige and the emblematic blue.

Combining the deep brilliance of pink gold

with the intensity of green, these new

timepieces bring a fresh aesthetic to

Vacheron Constantin's sporty-chic watches.

To accentuate the intensity of this new colour,

they have lavished meticulous care on the

finishing touches. Against a translucent

lacquered backdrop playing on depth

effects, the centre is graced with sunburst

satin-brushing, while the flange is delicately

velvet-finished, ensuring a luxurious and

detailed aesthetic.

The legibility of the models is ensured by the

contrast between the gold hour-markers and

hands highlighted with Super- LumiN ova®

and the dark dial colour. Featuring a

lighter-shaded double minutes track ? or a

single one on the gemset model ? they

enable accurate readings of the minutes and

seconds.

The finishes of the integrated rose gold

bracelets with polished and vertical

satin-brushed links evoking the shape of a

M altese cross harmoniously match those of

the dials, topped by a circular satin-finished

bezel.

CHIC YET SPORTY

This new introduction of intense green dials

covers different models in the Overseas

collection.

In keeping with the collection's sporting

vocation, these new models with open

sapphire crystal casebacks are

water-resistant to 150 metres thanks to a

screw-down crown. A soft-iron casing ring

provides anti-magnetic protection for the

movements.

These timepieces feature various calibres

with High Watchmaking finishes, all

self-winding with an 18K pink gold oscillating

weight featuring the collection's emblematic

compass rose.

Robust, sturdy and beating at a frequency of

4 Hz (28,80 0 vibrations per hour), they have a

comfortable power reserve.

129

Q&A w ith Christian Selmoni,

Style & Heritage Director

Why did you introduce this intense green

colour into the Overseas collection?

"The Overseas watches are a collection that

lends itself admirably to new colour

experiments. This was obvious when the

brand introduced a pinkish-beige hue on

certain ladies' models, and more recently

with a gold-toned dial. From there, it made

sense to ask whether the men's timepieces

could also adopt colours other than white,

black and the emblematic Overseas blue.

The first tests largely confirmed what we

suspected, particularly with the colour green,

a shade already appearing on some of the

watches in the Traditionnelle collection. We

chose a deep green exuding hints of plants

and forests. A sort of call to Nature that

makes a perfect fit with the Overseas spirit

of travel and exploration."

Steel Overseas watches were not chosen to

adopt this new dial colour?

"We initially opted for pink gold models. This

intense green colour acts as a revealer,

enhancing the brilliance of the gold while

ensuring exceptional legibility of the watch's

functions. The complementary nature of

these four references is truly striking when

placed side by side and it could well be that

this new colour will become as iconic as blue

within the collection."

What about the versatility of Overseas

watches?

"Versatility is a hallmark of the collection

and doubtless a much-appreciated quality

of Vacheron Constantin's sporty-chic models.

These watches must be able to adapt to all

circumstances of active life. Within this

context, it is a question of ensuring

impeccable functionality for models that

must also blend elegantly into their

environment, however diverse that may be. In

this respect, tool-free bracelet/ strap

interchangeability plays a key role. Whether

the wearer opts for an integrated bracelet

with a folding clasp enabling length

adjustment ? also without tools for the first

few millimetres... they can choose a style

that is casual, classic or sporty. Each

combination adds a personalized touch,

making it a different model every time."

AUDI

ETRON

GT

LUXURY

EV

135

A UDI DOWNTOWN VA NCOUVER | West 2nd A venue

AThe Audi e- tron GT has been the electric

and sporty top model in Audi's product

portfolio since its premiere in 20 21. The

four-door Gran Turismo combines

evocative design with a powerful drive

system and dynamic handling. The new

versions significantly improve the sporty

vehicle's range, performance, charging,

and handling. With the RS e- tron GT

performance3, Audi is debuting its first

fully electric RS performance model. The

new Audi e-tron GT family models are

available to order now.

'With the e-tron GT models, we are setting

new standards in performance. The

increased charging power and electric

all-wheel drive ensure improved

long-distance capability and

considerably more performance.

The newly developed chassis offers an

unprecedented range between driving

comfort, ride comfort, and driving

dynamics,' says Gernot Döllner, Chairman

of the Board of Management of AUDI AG.

137

The new variants of the e-tron GT series

combine a progressive design with

innovative technology, each having a

distinctive look. For example, the new Audi

S e-tron GT1 stands for elegant sportiness.

Its front end is homogeneous and

expressive at the same time.

A black mask encircles the fully closed,

inverted Singleframe, which reflects the

specific design language of the e-tron

models. Embossed structures lend the grille

a precise three?dimensionality. A strip of

body?colour paint above the Singleframe

gives the Gran Turismo an even sportier

and visually deeper look. The air curtains,

which ensure optimized airflow around the

front wheel in the front apron, are more

strongly shaped.

An elegantly designed aerodynamic

diffuser with vertical fins dominates the

rear end. A body-colour inlay above the

rear diffuser adds even more visual texture

and acts as a link between the diffuser

and rear bumper.

GETTIN G SPORTY

The new Audi RS e-tron GT2 is now sportier

as well. Its front end alone features a much

more radical look. The inverted

Singleframe comes in the RS?typical 3D

honeycomb structure. The apron framing

the black mask visually opens the RS e-tron

downwards. The vehicle appears lower,

seeming to hug the street in combination

with the functional L?shaped blades. The

rear end of the RS e-tron GT2 borrows

elements from motorsports.

139

The streamlined diffuser echoes the

theme of three-dimensional efficiency

elements in the front, such as the

L?shaped blades, in the rear of the

vehicle. The blades come as standard

in body colour for a sporty look.

Another detail from racing is a

vertical, red reflector between the

aero channels.

The Audi RS e-tron GT performance3 is

a masterpiece of design and luxury. As

the first fully electric RS performance

model, it features unique design

elements that set it apart from the RS

e- tron GT2. The optional matte,

darkened carbon roof, in combination

with the optional carbon camouflage

elements, adds a touch of exclusivity to

the vehicle. These elements, a first

from Audi, are intended exclusively for

the RS performance. The carbon

camouflage is used in the embossed

bumper structures, the door trim, parts

of the diffuser, and the side mirrors,

adding a unique and luxurious touch to

the vehicle's design.

A RAN GE OF COLOURS

The new corporate identity (CI) for

the e-tron GT family not only enhances

the exterior appearance but also

contributes to the overall brand

experience. The four rings now come in

a premium-quality, two- dimensional

design between the radiator grille

and the front apron, adding a touch of

sophistication.

141

The range of colours features nine exterior

finishes, allowing customers to personalize

their e-tron GT.

In addition to solid Arkona White, it includes

the metallic or pearl effect colours Ascari

Blue, Daytona Gray, Florett Silver, Kemora

Gray, Mythos Black, and Progressive Red.

Nimbus Gray is available as an exclusive

finish for the RS e-tron GT2 and RS e-tron

GT performance3, while the new colour

Bedford Green is on offer for the RS e-tron

GT performance3.

An optional Black Optics package is also

available to order, further enhancing the

vehicle's sporty look. It includes dark Audi

rings in the front and rear, air intakes, wing

mirror housings, and a diffuser element (S

e-tron GT1 ).

The RS-models come with dark Audi rings,

which is standard. In the Black Optics

Package, the L-shaped blades in the

bumper and the aero channels in the

diffuser are finished in high-gloss black.

Matching exterior mirror housings are an

option.

M ULTI- SPOKE WHEELS

Audi has also reworked the wheel range,

offering a variety of options to suit different

preferences. New 20 ?inch multi-spoke

wheels are available for the S e-tron GT1

and RS models, providing a balance of style

and performance. Two new six-twin-spoke

wheels have been added for the RS models,

offering a more aggressive look.

With its clear and uncompromising lines, this

iconic wheel belongs to the DNA of the Audi

brand. For the RS e-tron GT performance3,

the entire wheel surface is matte and

darkened, intensifying the vehicle's sporty

ambitions. These improvements in the wheel

range not only enhance the visual appeal

of the e-tron GT but also contribute to its

performance and handling.

IN TERIOR DESIGN DETAILS

Audi's new CI also shapes the interior with

redesigned seats, steering wheel, entry sills,

and digital content. The light projection

from the door has also been adapted.

When the driver's door opens, a red

diamond with a red shadow appears; the S

version features a white diamond with a

red shadow. New wooden inlays in natural

linear anthracite birch are available for the

e-tron GT family; for the RS e-tron GT

performance3, they are also available in

matte carbon camouflage to match the

exterior.

The new e-tron GT versions have a steering

wheel flattened at the top and bottom. For

the RS models, the steering wheel has two

red control satellites and optionally with a

12 o'clock marking. The seats have also

been upgraded. The new funnel aperture

design is more dynamic and features an

integrated inlay with an illuminated logo. In

combination with the leather-free design

package, the sports seats come with

contrasting orange stitching. The seats can

be ordered by request, and an optional

massage function is available for the RS

models.

143

LEAN IN G IN TO SUSTAIN ABILITY

The e-tron GT is not just about

performance and luxury, but also about

sustainability. The interior features the use

of sustainable materials, such as the

microfiber material Dinamica and the

fabric Cascade. Dinamica, which looks

and feels like suede, is comprised of

almost half recycled polyester, some of

which Audi sources from fabric scraps. The

seats, steering wheel, hood above the

virtual cockpit, door mirrors, center

console, and greenhouse are 37 to 45

percent Dinamica.

The RS models feature Dinamica in deep

black. Reminiscent of natural fibres, the

fabric Cascade is made with 15 percent

selvage and 35 percent recycled

polyester. In the interest of protecting the

environment, it is not dyed. Cascade is

used in the seats and the door mirrors. The

carpeting and floor mats are made of

Econyl, a material that consists of 10 0

percent recycled nylon fibres from

production waste, fabric and carpet

scraps, or old fishing nets. These

sustainable materials not only reduce

the environmental impact of the

e-tron GT but also enhance the interior

comfort and luxury.

AUDI CON N ECT SERVICES

The GT family is digital and connected

thanks to numerous Audi Connect services,

on-demand functions, and an app store.

The Audi virtual cockpit provides new

information on the battery temperature

and shows the maximum possible charging

power in real-time.

The RS e-tron GT2 features displays with

RS-specific content. For example,

customers who purchase an RS e-tron GT

performance3 can select a white power

display and speedometer via the MMI? a

tribute to the 1994 Audi RS 2 Avant, where

the analog dials initially came in white.

ALL- WHEEL DRIVE

Permanent-magnet synchronous motors

(PSM) are used as electric motors on the

front axle of the S e-tron GT1 and the RS

e-tron GT2 and have an output of 176 kW

(239 PS) each. As an additional feature,

the RS e-tron GT performance3 has

modified power electronics on the front

axle with a revised pulse inverter for even

higher discharge currents. All three

derivatives are more efficient while

boasting significant power increases and

improved acceleration.

HIGHER CHARGIN G POWER

Audi has increased the maximum charging

power by 50 kW to 320 kW. Under ideal

conditions, the e-tron GT family's HV

battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent

in only 18 minutes at a high-power

charging (HPC) station. In as fast as 10

minutes, the battery recharges to a range

of up to 280 kilometres.

Outfitted with Plug&Charge, the vehicle

automatically authorizes and activates

compatible charging stations when the

charging cable is plugged in. The new HV

battery also features a significantly wider

quick-charging window. Even in low

temperatures, the car reaches very high

charging performance faster.

145

This enables very high charging

performance at temperatures as low as

15°C, further reducing the energy

requirements of the thermal

management system and making it even

easier for customers to take advantage

of the ideal quick-charging window. As

an option, customers can also charge

with up to 22 kW when charging with

alternating current.

UPDATED COCKPIT

For the first time, the Audi virtual

cockpit Plus now provides customers

with comprehensive information about

the current operating state of the HV

battery, including battery temperature, a

quick-charging forecast, and the

preconditioning status. Specifically, this

new feature uses Audi-specific graphs

and icons to clearly display the currently

reachable charging power and the

current temperature of the HV battery.

The Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus also

indicates the preconditioning status

when navigation to an HPC charging

station is active. This allows the driver to

see what charging performance to

expect.

The thermal management system, which

consists of four optimized cooling

circuits, keeps the battery and the drive

system components at their ideal

temperatures. Depending on the outside

temperature, the battery can be cooled

or warmed for quick charging. The

standard heat pump increases the range,

especially in the winter, through

energy-efficient AC in the interior.

THE SM OOTHEST RIDE

The suspension keeps the car's body

nearly horizontal during dynamic

braking, steering, and acceleration. This

results in a highly precise steering

response, increasing the driver's control

of the car during dynamic driving. In

these driving situations, the active

suspension ensures near-perfect road

grip with its balanced distribution of

wheel loads. During smooth driving, the

active suspension almost entirely

neutralizes the vibrations of the car

body, especially when driving over

bumps.

On request, Audi offers all-wheel steering

combined with a more direct front-axle

steering ratio than the predecessor in

the e- tron GT quattro. This reduces

steering effort at lower speeds.

incredible electric luxury vehicles, visit
