EM A PETER | Fairmont Pacific Rim, Vancouver
EArchitectural photojournalist Ema Peter has
documented some of the most significant
international contemporary buildings over
the past 15 years, garnering her awards
and accolades for her images and key
collaborations.
" I believe that every building has a
personality and a soul." ~ Ema Peter
Her exhibition at The Pacific Gallery, titled
' In the M oment,' displays a series of
unaltered photographs depicting people
interacting with significant pieces of
architecture from around the globe.
Known for pushing the boundaries of
architectural photography, 'In the Moment'
is no exception.
Peter's work explores the soul of
architecture, investigating our built
environment and how we interact with it.
Living in a world where millions of images
are at our fingertips, with 'In the Moment,'
Peter invites us to pause and look at each
image in a more profound way. Her work
speaks directly to the heart of the space
and examines how architecture supports
our humanity.
013
The exhibition at the Fairmont Pacific Rim
features architecture at the forefront of
West Coast M odernism in West Vancouver
and coastal BC, with selected images of her
renowned international projects. The images
illustrate Peter's unique ability to catch
fleeting moments: figures moving through
space, a cloud tracing the sky, or a rare
quality of light.
IN FRON T OF THE CAM ERA
Born in Bulgaria, Ema spent much of her youth
on set with her father, a cameraman for major
Bulgarian film productions. Interested in
documenting life as it happens, she became a
presenter for Bulgarian TV, eventually leaving
Bulgaria to pursue an internship in
photojournalism at the M agnum photo
agency in Paris. Peter's love of modern
architecture was ignited by her visits to the
Corbusier Villa La Roche building. Inspired
by its clean lines and Corbusier's visionary
thinking, she drew from her training in
photojournalism to document the
architectural world around her.
She then led one of the largest photography
teams in North America at VRX Studios Inc.
She was also the lead photographer for ad
campaigns at Hilton, Hyatt and Fairmont
and was responsible for creating
photography standards for some of the
world's top hotel brands.

BENJAMI N
ROSEMBERG
PHOTOGRAPHER

BENJA M IN ROSEM BERG | Vancouver, BC
B R
The creative community in Vancouver recently welcomed
photographer and art director Benjamin Rosemberg.
Moving his family and business from Paris to Vancouver
was a big step for him - personally and career-wise.
"I visited Vancouver through a business trip a year ago, and
I fell in love with the vibes, the people. I discovered a
unique emotion with Vancouver's beautiful light and scenic
views. There was something great to be built here. Six
months later, my family and I were moving from Paris and
settling here."
023
A YOUTH CAPTIVATED
Benjamin realized his love of photography when
his renowned Parisian architect father gave him
his first camera at four years old, a magnificent
Kodak Ektralite 40 0 . At 16, when he received a
Hasselblad 20 0 0 FC, he then realized that
photography would be his life.
He began honing his skills by taking his first
photographs using friends as models and building
strong relationships with major modelling agencies
in Paris.
His world turned upside down when, at 18, Benjamin
visited the Dahinden Laboratory in Paris and
bumped into Jean- Paul Goude, one of the most
renowned and visionary artists of the Parisian
fashion and advertising scene. What evolved after
a few exchanges was an invitation by Jean-Paul for
Benjamin to join his team.
The pair collaborated for two years on prestigious
projects, which inspired Benjamin to further develop
his photographic technique by registering and
attending the world-renowned Gobelins School in
Paris.
A LEN S ON THE WORLD
Since graduating with the highest honours in 20 0 5,
Benjamin has signed projects with world-leading
fashion brands and collaborated with
internationally renowned artists and magazines.
"I've been lucky to collaborate with artists, people
and brands I really loved, such as Jean-Paul Goude,
an amazing French Artist loved by Andy Warhol;
Yaacov Agam, a kinetic painter; or recently
Jacques Garcia, a French interior designer who
works with the best ateliers and artisans in the
world," Benjamin shares.
025
"But there are also so many people I admire,
and I would love to collaborate with or capture:
Quentin Tarantino and wonderful Canadians like
M argaret Atwood, Roberta Bondar, Jeff Wall, or
successful people from Vancouver who have built
amazing companies like Aritzia founder Brian Hill
or Lululemon's founder Chip Wilson. Perhaps a
project with EA Games! It would be my inner child's
dream."
WEST COAST REFRESH
With the relocation and a desire to live more
compassionately, Benjamin shared that his time is
already full as he is "currently finishing a book on
my personal work to accompany an exhibition in
Paris for summer 20 24. I would also love to exhibit
here in Vancouver. I also almost finished an order
for M aisons Particulières, a prestigious hospitality
group that runs iconic palaces in Paris."
A COM PASSION ATE STAN CE
As an artist and humanitarian, Benjamin says that
many causes are important to his heart and who he
is - not only to his family but also to those around
him who may not have a voice.
"People who contribute to making things change
are wonderful, but for me, it is urgently needed to
make real change by reducing animal consumption
and fighting to really improve their conditions.
Four Paw s and WWF are the NGOs I feel the
closest to, and their values are the ones I cherish."
A PORTFOLIO OF VALUE
His most important clients are LVM H (LV, Dior,
Chaumet, Patou, Givenchy, Sephora), Richemond
group, Chanel, Les Editions Jalou, Conde N ast,
AD, N ew Balance, N ike, M aison Souquet, Volvo,
amongst others.

"The Kengo Kuma Fazioli Grand Piano is a
masterpiece of craftsmanship and design inspired by
nature, with incredible attention to detail in its design
and construction. The unique materials used and the
precision with which it was crafted create an
exceptional sound and playing experience. What was
born was a perfect synthesis that combines the beauty
of the unique Kengo Kuma architectural design with the
inimitable Fazioli sound and craftsmanship," says
Rachel N aomi Kudo."
"I couldn't help but think about the quote by
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Music is liquid
architecture; Architecture is frozen music." Before
sound, every piece of music, either with or without
notations, including improvisations, has an
indispensable structure. Architecture, from its form and
structure, can invoke the imagination and the sound of
music.
"The Kengo Kuma Fazioli is the perfect example. When
you see the layering effect created using sheets of
Hinoki wood, a spiritual material in Japan used for
building temples, it radiates an infiniteness and
timelessness, as if the melodies can vibrate from the
depths of the keys with extra-dimensional resonance."
031
FROM DC TO YVR
Born in Washington, DC, to Japanese-Korean
parents, Rachel began her studies with Emilio del
Rosario at the M usic Institute of Chicago. After
spending her childhood in Japan, she returned to
Chicago to pursue a musical life, playing chamber
music and violin in her high school orchestra,
appearing on 'From the Top' on NPR, and studying
with Kum- Sing Lee in Vancouver, Canada.
THE IN VITATION
"When I was first approached to play on the
launch night for the Kengo Kuma tower, I was
incredibly honoured and excited. The Fazioli is
already such a beautiful and unique instrument,
and I was curious to see how the Kengo Kuma
design would enhance its sound and feel. I was
also inspired by the opportunity to play in such a
stunning and innovative space."
A PASSION FOR M EN TORSHIP
Rachel believes in sharing the transformative
power of music with the broadest possible
audience to foster cultural engagement and
human connection.
"As for my advice for young pianists, it's essential
to find a balance between discipline and passion.
You should practice regularly and hone your skills,
but you also need to stay connected to the joy and
inspiration that drew you to music in the first place.
Don't be afraid to take risks and try new things,
and always stay true to your unique voice and
perspective. M usic is a lifelong journey!"
033
THE HEART OF ' ALBERN I'
M anuel Bernaschek, founder and owner of
Show case Pianos, felt the choice to invite Rachel to
play at the launch event was exquisite and fitting.
"The amazing thing about Rachel Naomi Kudo is
that she didn't come to just "play the pieces."
Rachel truly delivered a top-quality performance,
which was the perfect complement to the stunning
setting and wonderful acoustics of Kengo Kuma's
building in the Alberni development."
THE FAZIOLI THAT ASTOUN DS
The Kengo Kuma Fazioli grand piano is based on
the Fazioli F212 and is a glorious instrument
designed by the renowned Japanese architect
whose name it bears. Developer Westbank
commissioned the piano, as it has many others,
through Vancouver's only Fazioli dealer, the highly
respected Showcase Pianos.
The Kengo Kuma Fazioli piano has an exterior of
40 bevelled wooden planes of Hinoki w ood?the
same wood used for many of the building's wooden
elements - and its uniform grain is also most
desirable in the piano manufacturing process?both
aesthetically and acoustically. The wood of the
piano case is sculptured to capture the look and
feel of the building's exterior, a look that is echoed
in many of Kuma's buildings.
The Kengo Kuma Fazioli grand piano took over a
year to build and cost USD 890 ,0 0 0 .

ANGELES
AGRELA

VANCOUVER
049
A NGELES A GRELA | CICA Vancouver
A A
A
solo exhibition by Ángeles Agrela graced
the walls of CICA Vancouver this fall season.
It offered a vibrant vision of the venerable
traditions of classical painting with the
nuanced undercurrents of contemporary
feminist semiotics. Rooted firmly in the fertile
historiography of Spain?s artistic legacy,
Agrela offered an avant- garde perspective,
inviting audiences to a tableau wherein
obscurantism and epiphany merge.
Born in a UNESCO World Heritage city,
Úbeda, Agrela was not only deeply influenced
by the Golden Age of classical painting, but
also Renaissance architecture. Her work
echoes the allure of masterpieces by
Vermeer, Holbein, and Velazquez; yet
resonates with contemporary artists,
photographers, fashion designers, and comic
illustrators.
Travelling and living in a mix of N aples,
Havana, and Berlin, Agrela?s rich
geographical journey infuses her work with a
unique blend of cultural aesthetics. This
diverse experience has cultivated a
distinctive narrative, seamlessly merging
classical influences with modern-day motifs.
051
AN IDEN TITY OF SYM BOLISM
Central to Agrela?s artistic ethos is an
intriguing dialectic of visualization and
erasure. Her meticulous chromatic pencil
renderings on paper delineate feminine
visages ensconced in flamboyant coiffures.
These intricate hair adornments that remind
us of fashion photography, while visually
arresting, frequently eclipse segments of the
subject?s countenance. This conscious act of
occlusion serves a dual interpretation:
critiquing the perennial abstraction of the
female form while compelling the viewer to
transcend superficialities, inciting an
exploration into the profound narratives
veiled beneath these luxuriant exteriors.
THE EXHIBITION
?Las paradojas del aura? featured 20
artworks from 20 14 to 20 23, tracing the
evolution of Agrela?s artistic journey. Her
artistic endeavours present a syncretic
fusion of historical reverence and
contemporaneous innovation. Each
composition invited an epistemological
quest, urging an unravelling of the layered
narratives concealed therein. Within her
domain, every nuance, every chromatic
variation, every obscured countenance
proffers a profound dialogue, awaiting the
engagement of the erudite observer.
053
REDESIGN IN G IDEN TITY
Angeles uses the symbolic charge and
communicatory capacity of hair to create
an exaggerated ?mass?that frequently
substitutes the face or hides it completely
as a playful way to attract our attention
away from the face and towards the rest
of what we choose to represent our
image.
Together with the hair, the use of colour,
patterns, and fashion play a role in her
discourse of ?identity,?Agrela presents a
beautiful and somewhat ironic reflection
on how women have been represented
throughout the History of Art.

HISTORY OF THE SEAM ASTER
The story of the Seamaster begins 16 years
before it was born, with the launch of the
OM EGA ?M arine? in 1932.
This ingenious timepiece, successfully
tested at 73-metres below the surface of
Lake Geneva, also proved water-resistant
at a depth of 135-metres when
pressure-tested inside the Laboratory of
Watchmaking Research in N euchatel.
This impressive start set the course for
OMEGA?s rapid advancements in
underwater design.
During WWII, OMEGA delivered over
110 ,0 0 0 w atches for the pilots, navigators,
and soldiers of Great Britain?s M inistry of
Defence to support its Air Force and N avy
pilots during service. That unprecedented
experience allowed OMEGA to progress
quickly in water resistance,
anti-magnetism, and robustness and
create a series of watches that could
withstand the harshest conditions.
Famously, the MoD gave each watch a
WWW engraving on the caseback, which
stood for ?Waterproof Wrist Watch.?
063
The collection blended battle-proven
technology with an elegant exterior to
produce a watch for ?town, sea and country.?
It soon became clear which word of the three
would define its future. In the heady rock ?n?
roll years, a decade of optimism and
exploration, the Seamaster came into its
own as the watch of choice for undersea
adventurers. The starting point for this new
trajectory was the Seamaster 30 0 , released
in 1957.
Wave after wave of extraordinary models
followed. Each offers exciting new designs,
innovative technologies, and even greater
levels of water resistance. Along the way, the
watch with the distinctive seahorse logo
would play a key role in ocean exploration
and conservation as the timepiece of choice
for the curious and the deeply concerned.
Today, OMEGA is able to test every one of its
water-resistant watches in a real underwater
environment, thanks to the brand?s
industry-leading facilities and the
certification standards set by M ETAS
(the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
These timepieces, launched to celebrate
the Seamaster line, pay tribute to an
extraordinary history of innovation,
exploration, ocean-tested performance and
design.

5th edition of the Artycapucines
Collection combines the Maison's
emblematic Capucines with the
unique vision of five leading
contemporary artists.
069
LIZA LOU
American artist Liza Lou explores the
notions of social consciousness and
materiality through her sculptures,
paintings, and large-scale installations.
Draped and carefully embossed, Liza Lou's
sculptural Artycapucines recalls her
signature beadwork, printed in pastel hues
reminiscent of her emblematic Cloud
paintings. Its delicate texture offers a
contrasting layer against the smooth
Capucines bag, perfectly framing the
iconic Louis Vuitton clasp.
For a trompe l' oeil effect, the Maison
developed a new technology to emboss a
woven glass bead pattern, carefully
enveloping the Capucines to mirror the
organic forms of the original oeuvres, while
creating additional exterior pockets.
"Conceptual craftsmanship is at the core
of all my work. With the team of artisans at
Louis Vuitton, there was a shared love for
experimentation and rigorous attention to
detail." ~ Liza Lou
BILLIE ZAN GEWA (Page 68)
A South Africa-based artist born in
M alaw i, Billie Zangewa celebrates the
amalgamation of gender, identity, and
race in a socio-economic context
through raw silk assemblages.
Transposing her 20 20 oeuvre,
The Sw imming Lesson, Zangewa's
Artycapucines bag depicts her son
M ika on the edge of a glistening pool,
adorned with hand-stitched beads and
metallic thread to create a sparkling
reflection, and three Monogram penguin
charms in an ode to their enduring
connection.
In a fusion of art and fashion,
Zangewa's original bronze silk
patchwork was scanned and printed in
high definition, capturing its natural
creases, and attached to the Capucines
with deliberately uneven stitching.
A recurrent theme of her piece, gold
detailing outlines the pool edge and
continues along the top of the bag, to
the metallic LV signature.
"I have a love of texture and tactility so
working with fabric was almost
inevitable." ~ Billie Zangewa
071
ZIPIN G WAN G
Chinese-born artist Ziping Wang explores
the overwhelming visuals of digital
advertising in the modern era through her
paintings and illustrations, from still life to
geometric patterns.
Playfully reinterpreting the Maison's codes
through a kaleidoscopic lens, Wang's
mini- Capucines, the smallest
Artycapucines created yet, combine a
graphic motif reminiscent of the iconic
Damier with chromatic adornments.
Imbued with whimsy, the creation is
evocative of candy wrappers and sweets.
Animated with whimsical embellishments,
the Capucines' smooth surface is layered
with a shimmering midnight-blue patent
leather in a vibrant patchwork of textures
and hues, to transform the iconic bag into
a sweet treat ? complete with a candy
cane handle.
"I was extremely impressed by the details
that were achieved in this bag: from the
mint candy feet made of resin to the
enamel gingerbread man who has LV
Monogram flower buttons."
~ Ziping Wang
073
TURSIC & M ILLE
Serbian and French artists Ida Tursic and
Wilfried M ille, collaborators for over twenty
years, build their painting-on-painting
technique with a uniquely liberated and
conceptual approach.
Tursic and Mille's Artycapucines features
detailed stitches and rich paint for sensory
immersion, evoking the duo's passion for
melding together different mediums. Complete
with a wood handle, the model nods to the
artists' canvases.
Exemplifying unique savoir-faire, thousands of
embroidery stitches reproduce brushstrokes
from the artists' 20 21 painting, Tenderness,
which are then meticulously printed onto the
bag's front panel in vibrant hues, to accentuate
its depth. This process is repeated on the rear
panel to transpose a kaleidoscopic palette, in
a conceptual representation of perpetually
starting over.
"That work is from a series of 'sentimental'
paintings, which draw on the iconographic
source of advertising images from the 1950 s."
~ Ida Tursic and Wilfried Mille
075
EWA JUSZKIEWICZ
Polish artist Ew a Juszkiew icz deconstructs
conventional ideas of feminine beauty,
contrasting traditional European painting
with the surreal to create hybrid figures.
Juszkiewicz transforms her striking surrealist
20 21 oil painting, Ginger Locks, reminiscent
of a 19th-century portrait, into an inspiring
Artycapucines bag. A delicate string of
pearls adorns the side like a necklace, while
a leather envelope hidden inside alludes to
secret love letters of the past.
Hand-sprayed, the gradated green
background mirrors the original oeuvre to
showcase the vibrant portrait, its details
captured and reproduced in ultra-high
definition using an innovative 3D- printing
technique, which was also employed to
camouflage the iconic LV signature.
"I wanted the bag to reflect the essence and
character of my paintings. By combining
various techniques and materials, like
hand-dying and multilayered printing, the
final effect is beautiful and sophisticated."

POSTCARD

EARTH
SPHERE
079
SPHERE | Sphere Entertainment, Las Vegas
S
This past September, as our incredible
Resort World LV experience ended, the drive
to the airport was interrupted by an
astonishing site. A large black sphere dome
appeared in front of us. Our driver quickly
explained that this was ' The Sphere' where
mega-band U2 had been practicing for a
week in preparation for the official launch.
What is the Sphere? Well, the short version is
that it is a next-generation entertainment
medium that is redefining the future of live
entertainment! A mindblowing venue where
leading Hollywood directors, concerts and
residencies from the world's most prominent
artists, like U2 and premier marquee events,
will astound attendees.
081
A N EW WON DER OF THE WORLD?
The Sphere Experience is a new genre
of live entertainment that will
transform the shared experience and
put Sphere's 22nd-century immersive
technologies on full display. The
approximately two-hour program
begins in the Atrium, w hich tells a
universal story of how culture,
technology, science, art, and the
natural w orld have been intertwined
throughout human history.
"Every aspect of Sphere was designed
to transport audiences to new places,
both real and imagined and The
Sphere Experience is where that vision
comes together in its most integrated
form," said James L. Dolan, Executive
Chairman and CEO of Sphere
Entertainment. "From the moment
guests enter the venue, Sphere's
next-generation technologies will
create an unforgettable journey, which
includes a sci-fi exploration of our
planet via Darren Aronofsky' s
' Postcard from Earth.' "
083
' POSTCARD FROM EARTH'
The Atrium experience ties directly into
the main cinematic feature, 'Postcard
from Earth,' a first-of-its-kind immersive
film by Academy Award-nominated
director Darren Aronofsky. The film
offers a portrait of our planet
re-imagined as a sci-fi experience. It
brings audiences on a voyage spanning
all seven continents, deep into the
ocean, high into the mountains, into the
eye of a storm, and out into space.
'Postcard from Earth' takes full
advantage of Sphere's experiential,
next- generation technologies to
transport audiences and engage the
senses, making them feel like they have
travelled to new worlds without ever
leaving their seats in Las Vegas.
This includes utilizing the interior LED
display plane that wraps up, over, and
around the audience to create a fully
immersive visual environment.
At 16K x 16K, it is the highest resolution
LED screen on Earth. Through
Sphere Immersive Sound, a variety of
technologies, including beamforming,
enable audio to be directed to
specific locations at a volume that
remains consistent ? from point of
origin to destination.
085
Sphere's audio system also allows sound
designers to create a virtual point of
origin and place it in a precise spatial
location ? meaning audio can be
directed to the listener so that it sounds
close, even though the source is far away.
'Postcard from Earth' is also the first
production to feature the venue's
multi- sensory 4D technologies. This
includes immersive seats with an
infrasound haptic system that will use
deep vibrations so guests can feel the
experience ? such as the rumble of
thunder or a soaring rocket launch.
Sphere also utilizes environmental
effects to rouse the senses?the feeling
of a cool breeze and familiar
scents?which help audiences conjure
the feeling of being there.
THE ATRIUM
The Sphere Experience journey is curated
by five humanoid robots?named
Aura?that serve as interactive guides to
Sphere, each focusing on one
fundamental aspect of human ability:
connection, creativity, innovation,
longevity, and productivity.
Aura was developed using
next-generation technology in robotic
mechanics and artificial intelligence.
087
Aura will guide guests through an interactive
demonstration of Sphere Immersive Sound
powered by HOLOPLOT, which shows
beamforming technology can simultaneously
send unique audio content to specific
locations, allowing guests to hear
completely different content ? such as
languages or instruments.
Sphere Immersive Sound is the most
advanced concert-grade audio system in
the world ? using 3D audio beamforming
technology and w ave field synthesis to
deliver targeted, crystal-clear and uniform
audio to every seat in Sphere.
Other immersive technology experiences in
the Atrium include a 50 -foot-high
holographic installation that draws on the
themes of 'Postcard from Earth,' artwork
created by machine learning, LED displays,
and a 360 -degree avatar capture that
virtually puts guests on top of Sphere.
Aronofsky said: "Sphere is a temple to the
arts. It's not built for sports; it's built for
performance and for this new moving
image medium: this experiential cinema.
I can't wait to share Postcard from Earth
with the world."
Tickets for the 'Postcard from Earth' are

REVUELTO HPEV | Lamborghini Vancouver
t r a v e l
R / E V
Just before the 60 th anniversary
of the marque, Lamborghini
unveiled Revuelto, the first HPEV
(High Performance Electrified
Vehicle) hybrid super sports car
at a stunning event in
Sant' Agata Bolognese.
With the Revuelto, Lamborghini
has established a new
benchmark in performance,
on-board technology, and
driving pleasure.
The ultimate thrill the Revuelto
provides is reached thanks to a
powertrain that delivers 10 15 CV
total, combining the power of a
brand-new 12-cylinder internal
combustion engine with three
high-density electric motors and
a groundbreaking transversal
dual clutch e-gearbox. The
power of hybridization is
harnessed to take performance
and driving emotions to an
unprecedented level.
THE FUTURE IS LUXURY HPEV
Revuelto is not an innovation
solely in performance, technical
features and company
strategies; it has also brought a
real revolution in production
processes: M anifattura
Lamborghini N ext Level
perfectly expresses the
paradigm shift.
'Sustainability' defines the car's
interior, reflecting the company's
attention to avoiding waste,
which has become the modus
operandi of the Lamborghini
universe. This includes upholstery
materials cut utilizing the
latest-generation machinery: this
limits waste as much as possible
without affecting the
craftmanship and embroidery
processes, in which 'hand-made'
continues as a point of
excellence within Lamborghini.
095
The new Revuelto delivers performance
figures at the peak of its segment:
acceleration from 0 -10 0 km/ h in only
2.5 seconds and a top speed of more than
350 km/ h. These numbers combine with its
exceptional dynamism thanks to the
introduction of electric torque vectoring
and four-wheel drive available also in
fully-electric drive mode, ensuring the
Revuelto super sports car expresses its
amplified qualities both on track and in
daily driving.
"With Revuelto, we take the experience of
driving a Lamborghini to a superior level,"
said Rouven M ohr, Lamborghini's Chief
Technical Officer. "Revuelto takes a
significant step forward in terms of
reactivity and responsiveness to ensure the
most emotive and natural driving in every
environment. Revuelto is a car delivering the
highest performance but our objective right
from the start was to confirm it at the very
summit of driving emotions."
DESIGN IN G FOR A BETTER WORLD
Revuelto brings the future of Lamborghini
design to the road today. It stays constant to
the exclusive Lamborghini design DN A but
establishes a new stylistic language. It links
with the iconic and legendary Lamborghini
V12 cars of the past through the new shape,
while the new proportions open the door to
the future.
097
While Revuelto delivers a quantum leap
in an all-new car design, externally and
internally, the inspiration from previous
V12 legends is still evident.
Starting with the 1971 Countach
prototype and its perfect proportions
developed on a single longitudinal line,
this car created a pure and essential
style contextualized in the Space Age
era. It defined the Lamborghini V12
super sports car DNA and introduced
one of the most distinctive Lamborghini
V12 elements: the vertically-opening
scissor doors, which contribute to
creating the character of Revuelto.
THE ADREN ALIN E IS REAL
"The Revuelto is adrenaline made
visible," says M itja Borkert,
Lamborghini's Head of Design. "The
design of the new Lamborghini Revuelto
opens a fascinating door towards the
future of our unique design language. At
first sight, Revuelto is an intriguing
next-generation Lamborghini V12, with
all lines embracing the monocoque and
celebrating an unrestricted view toward
the V12 HPEV pow ertrain.
099
"The unique and recognizable Y-shape
light signature is significant in this new
era of our most iconic flagship car, and
the interior is a dramatic leap forward in
defining the new design direction of
Lamborghini. Our philosophy of
" feel like a pilot" is vivid and visible in
every detail: the driver and passenger
are deeply integrated in the very
lightweight Y-shape design of the
dashboard and center console,
replicating the sensations of being in a
race car but with a perfect intuitive
balance between digital and physical
controls."
The aerospace elements blend
harmoniously with an animalistic
muscularity starting at the front: the
shark-nose section modelling of the
broad monolithic carbon- fibre hood
conveys a sense of power and speed.
The headlamp clusters match this with
Y-shape daytime running lights - a
distinctive stylistic feature of
contemporary Lamborghini design -
framed by aerodynamic blades that
connect the splitter to the hood itself.
The side fins, located behind the front
wheel arches, channel the airflow along
the sides and the pronounced concavities
of the doors to the side air intakes, which
feature sharp edges that echo the arrows
on the front.
101
103
PERSON ALIZATION FOR AN ECO- EDGE
Revuelto is the production Lamborghini
model that offers the most potential for
personalization. Four hundred bodywork
colours are provided with many more
personalization options at the client's
disposal, allowing the creation of an entirely
individual super sports car. The sustainable
sportiness of Revuelto continues beyond the
technical specification of the plug-in hybrid:
all the paints used are w ater- based rather
than solvent-based.
A M ESSAGE FROM ITALY
Ranieri N iccoli, Chief Manufacturing Officer
of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: "To
manufacture the Revuelto, we understood we
had to go above and beyond. It's a highly
customizable hybrid car, yet it's built using
traditional handcrafted skills. We raised the
bar to produce it, creating what we call
M anifattura Lamborghini N ext Level: a
production system with people always at its
core but which we adapted to deliver a much
more complex product and to integrate
processes we haven't used before.
With the introduction of the Revuelto, we
expanded the area occupied by the company
facilities by 172,0 0 0 - square- meters, investing
? 150 million in the local area here in
Sant' Agata Bolognese."

THE SPA M A GNOLIA | Victoria, BC
MWhen guests arrive at The Spa M agnolia,
owner Paula Veenema ensures their
experience is something they will
remember.
"Having a team of incredibly talented
therapists is by far my biggest asset. A
beautifully appointed facility and amazing
professional products only serve as
additional benefits when the people who
navigate the experience in the treatment
room love what they do; it's something that
can be felt. The positive energy you feel
when you walk into the spa, the luxurious
robe, warmed and extremely comfortable
tables, and really genuine care all add up
to the magic of The Spa Magnolia."
111
UPHOLDIN G EXCELLEN CE
At The Spa Magnolia, product standards are
incredibly stringent. Paula has set expectations
high and demands that all lines are aligned
with the brand's philosophy of healthy being.
All offered products are manufactured by
partners that have clients' health, beauty, and
safety at the forefront, including endota,
Comfort Zone, and Jane Iredale.
Each of these three internationally known and
respected brands share commonalities, such as
not being tested on animals, holding
certifications and clinical trials, being
transparent in manufacturing practices, and
are recommended by dermatologists and skin
care professionals around the world.
"What goes on your body goes inside your
body; the Spa Magnolia merges luxury with
organic health and beauty treatments with the
best nature has to offer, backed by scientific
research."
RESPECTIN G THE EARTH
The Spa Magnolia is one of the very few spas
that utilize the services of Green Circle.
This organization was primarily developed for
salons to recycle colour, foils, and hair,
resulting in 95% w aste diversion between the
salons in-house recycling programs together
with the services of Green Circle.
This allows one-time-use implements to be
collected and used in a waste-to-energy
process to create clean, renewable energy,
with the leftover ash used as filler in asphalt
projects.
A TIM ELESS PARTN ERSHIP
Paula's partnership with the award-winning
M agnolia Hotel & Spa has ensured that
visiting guests from around the world have the
convenience and luxury of a world-class spa
within metres of check-in.
"After 20 years in this location, I am just as
passionate as I was initially! My aim was
always to embrace what an honour it is to
provide experiences that can be genuinely
life-changing to our guests with gratitude,"
shares Paula.
CLIEN TS AT THE FOREFRON T
"In a world that continues to impose stress in
various ways to our daily lives, the need for
human touch and connection is greater than
ever. Touch deprivation is directly correlated
to negative physical and mental health
outcomes, and the pandemic demonstrated
increased feelings of loneliness and isolation.
"Coming to the spa is about trust and allowing
yourself to shift into a better mindset of caring
for yourself. At the end of the day, it feels
pretty great to be able to witness the change
in a guest from when they check in to their
demeanour and smile when they leave."
113
COM M ITM EN T TO COM M UN ITY
Paula's commitment to community is
strong and The Spa Magnolia has
developed strong relationships with
WeBC - Women' s Entreprise Centre.
This organization provides financial
support, funding options, skills
development, advisory options, and
business mentors to guide women
entrepreneurs through their journey to
success.
When The Spa Magnolia moved from its
facility on the second floor inside the hotel
to the heritage building next door, lending
options to finance the project were slim to
none, as the economy was experiencing
the crash of 20 0 9. Women's Enterprise
supported Paula through its funding
program, which in turn prompted other
financial institutions to assist.
Other community commitments include
providing worn spa robes, linens, and
towels to the Sandy M erriman House
(Cool Aid Society Victoria) and BC SPCA
Victoria and gift certificate purchases
and meal donations for Our Place Society
homeless shelter.
THE EVOLUTION OF SKIN
"Moving into the new year, guests to The
Spa Magnolia can expect our continuing
commitment to personalized engagement
with our guests. We love knowing skin and
providing facial treatments that are
designed to deliver an experience
tailored to your needs," shares Paula.
"We pride ourselves on understanding the
effectiveness of newer-generation product
ingredients and how individual needs
change as we age, develop sensitivities,
shift hormonally, and manage stress."

Offering a classically modern dining
space that promises genuine hospitality,
designer Sharon Bortolotto (BBA Design)
created an elegant room where the old

the old grand dame hotels of Paris. The
room features high ceilings and
bistro-style lighting to create a casually
elegant ambiance complimented by
commissioned abstract expressionist
artwork by Blu Smith.

The entry is highlighted by a
classically inspired tiled entrance
and chevron patterned wood floor,
which lead to a brasserie-style

Upstairs is a slightly more intimate

brass accents and bronze beaded
curtains illuminate the room.
IN THE KITCHEN
Driven by an interest in the
emerging, hyper-local food scene in
Victoria, Chef Brian Tesolin joined
The Courtney Room team in 20 19.
Over the years, he has elevated
Victoria's dining scene with menus
that reflect his knowledge and
experience garnered at both
Vancouver's award-winning
Haw ksw orth Restaurant and
Langdon Hall Country House Hotel
& Spa in Cambridge, ON .
Drawing inspiration from classic
cooking techniques focusing on
Pacific Northwest cuisine, Tesolin's
seasonal and special menus offer
the best ingredients from the
Island's terroir.
Menus include fresh produce from
local farm partners (Littlest Acres
Farms, Square Root Organics,
and the skills of wild food forager
Lance Staples). The dishes are
ingredient-driven and built on a
foundation of classic European
techniques that celebrate the
bounty of the Pacific Northwest
and showcase local growers
and products.
BY THE GLASS
The Courtney Room Bar Program
focuses on the ebbs and flows of
coastal offerings.
The team thoroughly enjoys the
research and art that goes into
pairing locally foraged goods
with the intent to showcase
fresh ingredients from the
Island's bioregion through a variety
of complimentary spirits
(Ampersand Distillery, Sheringham
Distilleries, Victoria Distillers),
in-house ferments, and the
experimentation of the bar team.

Early afternoon crudite of crisp seasonal veggies,

The meal began with an heirloom tomato salad
with fresh herbs, edible flowers, and tangy
pickles, followed by battered foraged mushrooms
with zesty hummus, dense house-made falafel
balls, golden and red beet salad, crispy rice
cakes in a savoury sauce, and blistered shishito
peppers on a bed of deep-fried potatoes.
The Courtney Room honours the traditions of
great hotel bars by holding strong roots in classic
cocktails yet continuing to push the boundaries
by exploring the nature of The Pacific Northwest.

BE LOVE RESTA URA NT | Harris Green | Victoria

With
its wooden floors, rough-hewn
ceiling beams, and captivating
artwork, Be Love restaurant is an
oasis for those seeking a dining
experience away from the pubs and
lounges of downtown Victoria.
Located in the on-trend Harris Green
neighbourhood and founded by
siblings Heather and Joe Cunliffe,
Be Love is a plant-based paradise.
Together, the sister-brother duo share
with the community a culinary voice
that reflects their passion for health,
clarity of mind, and lightness of spirit.
Using at least 95 percent organic
plant- based ingredients that are
mindfully sourced according to local
and seasonal availability and made
from scratch, as ordered. Everything
created wheat, gluten, dairy, and
processed sugar-free.
139
With a menu that changes with the seasons
to optimize the use of the finest produce
from the local wilds and the local farms, as
well as to best support their vitality
throughout the year.
Heather and Joe strive to run every part of
their business in a way that supports the
health and sustainability of the Island
community and, by extension, the planet.
We enjoyed a relaxing evening in the chic
but casual establishment. An intimate
table for two under incredibly high ceilings.
The experience was one of closeness
and familiarity, the meal rich in flavour,
and composition.
Conversation between tables was frequent
and the servers attentive and gracious.
Enjoyed were a M ezze Starter of za'atar
spiced flatbread, marinated olives, crisp
seasonal vegetables, harissa hummus,
cashew cream cheese, and poblano ranch;
a Morrocan squash soup, roasted potatoes
and ketchup, and a roasted beet salad.
It was a wonderful journey into plant-based
dining due to the dedication of a team that
wants nothing more than to nourish all
welcomed in.

LONGI NES

M INI DOLCEVITA | Longines | Sw itzerland
M D V
The M ini DolceVita has arrived.
With its discreet profile, classic
styling, and aesthetic variations
that are at once timely and
timeless, it is a masterpiece that
exquisitely expresses, in equal
part, Longines?quiet luxury and
contemporary elegance. The
latest from Longines are bound to
resonate with dynamic
personalities that are drawn to
breathtaking watches that
perfectly complement any styling
choice.
?Elegance is unique because it
allows us to break from
traditional aesthetic codes
while revealing multiple facets of
our personality. It is an
opportunity to continually
reinvent ourselves, based on our
desires and moods, whether
serious or playful, but always in
keeping with our own tastes and
values.? ~ M atthias Breschan,
Longines CEO
"Elegance, of course, is an
instinctive, elusive concept. It
sometimes defies definition, but
we know it when we see it. We
see it in our distinguished
Ambassadors of Elegance
like Jennifer Law rence,
Regé- Jean Page, Kate Winslet,
Suzy, and Zhao Liying . And we
see it in every Longines watch,
where each small detail
enhances the harmony of the
whole piece. This is particularly
the case with the Mini DolceVita,
whose elegance is apparent in its
soft, pure lines and its precise
proportions."
A COLLECTION LIKE N O OTHER
The Mini DolceVita features a
case with a reduced profile, pure
softened lines, and a newly
designed stainless steel bracelet,
this modern classic is as trendy as
it is elegant.
159
BIRTH OF AN ICON
The Mini DolceVita has an impressive lineage:
it was inspired by a Longines legend created
in 1927 and, of course, the original DolceVita
collection from 1997. That collection triggered
the now-familiar slogan, ?Elegance is an
attitude,? and the Mini DolceVita updates the
story for a new generation.
IN THE DETAILS
Each reference in the Mini DolceVita
collection features a rectangular 21.50 mm x
29.0 0 mm stainless steel case and is powered
by a highly accurate L178 quartz movement.
They are w ater resistant to 3 bar (30 metres).
The highlight of the new Mini DolceVita
collection dazzles with a case framed by
38 IF- VVS Top Wesselton diamonds. And a
new Cosmo circular dial inside the
rectangular case calls attention to its
uncompromising elegance. The Cosmo dial, on
view through a scratch- resistant sapphire
crystal, is characterized by subtle contrasts,
featuring a silver sunray background, a white
matt hour track, a silver sunray inner circle,
and a white matt round small seconds subdial.
Its painted Roman numerals and blued steel
hands are highly legible against the lighter
shades of the dial.
This Mini DolceVita is presented on a newly
designed stainless steel bracelet, which,
thanks to its 198 links and include an
impressive range of colour options and
configurations. Six of the new references
feature diamonds bordering the case.
In addition to the classic model introduced
above, there is a similarly-appointed watch
with a Roman rectangular silver-coloured dial
distinguished by flinqué decoration, whose
subtle geometric patterns are embossed on
the dial with a guilloche effect, and painted
Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The
small seconds hand at the 6 o?clock position is
presented in a square subdial.
Each Mini DolceVita model is a powerful
expression of elegance and the Italian sweet
life associated with the collection. Not only
are these stunning jewel watches built on a
rich heritage, but they are also
uncompromisingly contemporary models for
those who value living life to its fullest.
