WELCOME...
...to the Palace Theatre Paignton
The Palace is managed by Jazz Hands, a local
Community Interest Company, set up in 2018 to
keep this lovely theatre open. Of course the theatre
has been going much longer than this ( since 1890 to
be precise) and one of our longest serving team
members is Technical Manager, Clive Simmons.
Clive first came to work at the Palace for the 1980
pantomime: ‘I love the magic of a production going
from a blank stage to a dazzling performance.
It’s amazing dealing with West End and touring
producers but it’s our amateur companies - like Bijou,
and Paignton Panto and local dance and theatre
schools - that can be the most rewarding. It’s great to
be part of developing an idea into a full stage
production, making the most of this fabulous venue
and theatre team.’
‘I’ve been lucky to meet
lots of lovely people
over the years, from
celebrities to the
youngsters that have
worked for us that
have gone on to fantastic careers in music and theatre.
We’re like a family here and we all say we’re just
happy being in show-business’.
TAKE YOUR SEAT AND...
