Welcome to Our Stars Awards
2024 from our Chief Executive,
Sharon Lea
I’m delighted to be hosting Our Stars Awards 2024; it’s going to be very
special, and I want to thank the finalists for joining us.
I can’t believe a whole year has passed and here we are again celebrating
amazing successes during what continues to be challenging times for local
government.
It’s fantastic to be hosting the awards at the Irish Cultural Centre
and, once again, we extend a very warm welcome to the
wonderful Angela Mooney and the Linking Hands Choir.
We also have a special live performance by the incredibly talented
violinist Maya Patel lined up for you - she’ll take you on a musical
journey you won’t forget.
Thanks to our great line up of presenters as well, and in particular
to Peter Parkin, who will support me in hosting the awards. Peter
is a natural entertainer, and I must say that the event would not
be anywhere near as vibrant without Peter’s wit and delightful
humour.
Our Stars is an opportunity for us to reflect, to say thank you and
to celebrate excellence and achievement. So, to every single
member of staff ‘thank you for all you do to make H&F such a
great place to work and live.’
You’ve shown just how many stars we’re privileged to work with –
we received a record number of 453 nominations!
For those that were nominated, you are all winners, and you
should all be very proud of your achievements.
I would also like to extend my huge thanks to everyone who took
the time to recognise their colleagues’ contributions by making
a nomination. I’ve personally acknowledged all nominations
and it’s not been easy to choose winners when there have
been so many wonderful nominations that have touched both
colleagues and the residents we serve.
It’s impossible to find out about or judge every act of excellence, so
please know that you play an important and valued part in contributing to
our continued success.
It’s events like this that make me feel incredibly proud. So, to all our Stars,
the very best of luck and thank you for all you do to make H&F a stronger,
safer and kinder borough!
Sharon Lea

BIOGRAPHY
I began learning the violin with Brent Music Service when
I was 8 years old. At the age of 10, I joined Junior Guildhall
supported by a Department for Education Music Award.
Throughout my secondary education I have been a
music scholar, first at The Royal Masonic School for Girls
(2018-2023) and now at University College School.
My music repertoire is diverse, as well as classic and folk,
I learn jazz violin with Rhiannon Dimond (Tomorrow’s
Warriors) and made my debut at the Royal Festival Hall in
June 2023 alongside Jazz Jamaica All Stars & members
of Chineke Orchestra.
