on students’ academic performance, time

management, study habits.

Understanding how to create balance between

social media and academic work.


What Is Social Media?

Social media is a range of digital platforms and applications that allow

people to create, convey, and engage with content in online communities


Research Objective

Examine the effects of social media on academic

performance

Identifiy the benefits and challenges of social media

Provide recommendations on balancing social media

to improve academic results.


Positive Impact

Social media provides entry to educational

resources such as; tutorials and academic articles.

It assists students in cooperating and associating

with each other through study groups and academic

forums .

Time management tools and reminders on social

media can aid in arranging study schedules.


Negative Impact

The abundant use of social media leads to

procrastination and time wastage.

It disrupts students focus during study

sessions and can reduce productivity.

The overuse of social media can cause lack

of sleep as a consequence it can negatively

affect academic performance.


METHODOLOGY

Surveys were carried out to evaluate the impact of social media on

students academic performance.

The survey will include both quantitative and qualitative date

Literature reviews and case studies were collected for this topic.


Results/Findings

The excessive use of social media leads to lower academic

performance

Students are inclined to see positive academic outcomes when they

use social media for educational purposes.

Social media has study groups which assists students on improving

their academic performance.

Nevertheless , overuse leads to procrastination and lower

performance.
