A WORLDWIDE SELECTION
OF THE BEST HAIR SALONS
FORWARD
Estetica Network, in association with Exclusive Brands Torino, has confirmed its
partnership with the Pavillon de Monaco for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan -
a unique event in terms of international relevance, size, quality and exhibitors.
In 2025, Osaka will be at the centre of the world in ‘designing the future of
society’. For the occasion, Estetica - the world’s leading hairdressing magazine
- has produced a special edition of EsteticaDesign Magazine, showcasing the
best of the most recent designs in beauty spaces and salon interiors.
Thanks to Exclusive Brands Torino, the Pavillon de Monaco and Takara
Belmont - a valuable partner and world leader in the sector - EsteticaDesign
intends to bring 26 winning ideas in salon design interiors and hairdressing
furniture to the world’s top stage. Special thanks also go to Takara Belmont
and its Ceo Hidetaka Yoshikawa for believing in this operation and for a
collaboration that will deliver EsteticaDesign into the hands of the most
important stakeholders in our industry.
Roberto Pissimiglia, Publisher, ESTETICA NETWORK

This is the second time we have exhibited at a World Exposition, following
the 1970 Japan World Exposition in Osaka. We are delighted to participate
in the EsteticaDesign Magazine to commemorate Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai,
Japan, and to be able to introduce some of the world’s top trend designs and
most beautiful salon interiors. This magazine is published by Estetica, a company
with which we have a long-term relationship as a symbolic leader in the
beauty and hairdressing publishing industry. As a leading company in salon
furniture and equipment, Takara Belmont is constantly bringing new and exciting
innovations to the world, and we are working to make further improvements
to the industry. We will also continue to work to meet the needs of our

From California and Morocco to Portugal and Mexico, a welcoming and seductive neo-modernism is spreading across the
globe. It's a design trend that combines traces of Mediterranean folklore with a soft contemporary style. It is dominated by
rustic, earthy tones, colourful fabrics, ceramics, rattan furniture and Berber rugs, contrasted with white walls, concrete, bare
bricks, terracotta tiles and glass. The Hotel Mondrian on the island of Ibiza, designed by the Cuarto Interior studio in
Madrid, provides us with a very sophisticated example.
‘Shabby and a bit dilapidated’ is a fair literal translation of the French word délabré. However, in design circles it identifies a
très chic trend that finds its charm in the past. Not to be confused with vintage or bohemian, this style combines walls that
feature unrestored original elements such as old frescoes and wallpaper, with sophisticated interior design concepts. The
Lolita Eipprova café-pastry shop in Ljubljana is a perfect example of this. Designed by the Triiije architectural studio, it
exploits the true sense of délabré to create a unique atmosphere.

Into the future with a hint of retro. The term retro-futurism was introduced in 1983, merging the concepts of nostalgia about
the past and fascination for what’s still to come. It’s a style that likes reinventing itself, so thanks to the images that are now
being created using AI, it’s returning to define a new aesthetic. This combines rounded lines, metallic accents, sculptural
lights, vintage and hi-tech. An intriguing example is the Mo bakery in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Designed by the famous
Masquespacio studio, it’s a portal into a space incorporating two parallel dimensions.

Unexpected glimpses from surprising perspectives can offer truly original design solutions. The objective is to pique your
excitement by taking you into another dimension; one which is synergised to create an almost surreal effect. This is how we
can describe the dramatic trend and its theatrical approach to interior spaces. Contraste is a newly opened, top-ranking
restaurant in Milan renovated by the Debonademeo studio. It is a superb example of the trend, with its soft stage-like
curtains which open and close on four coloured spaces into which the main restaurant area is divided.

Brutalism is reborn! The architectural movement that emerged in the mid-twentieth century is once more gaining appeal,
thanks to new contemporary variations on its theme. The name comes from the French word béton brut, or raw concrete.
The 1950s paid great homage to the audacity of the material, whilst today it conquers our minds with its sense of permanence
and an integrity that satisfies our hunger for stability. Designed by Studio Fragment In Seoul, Our Bakery reinvents the classic
perception of a bakery by transforming it into a gourmet palace: a concrete temple bursting with delicacies.

The synergy between nature and design is an ancient one, but one which continues to evolve, especially in the ways in which
it is implemented. Nowadays, it’s necessary to remember that there is no alternative planet we can turn to and therefore more
sustainable technology and use of materials are essential considerations. It is in this spirit of conservation that the Nagami
studio has designed the eye-opening Ecoalf store at Las Rozas Village in Madrid. 3D printed entirely in 100% recycled plastic,
the interiors reproduce the landscape of a melting glacier, with clear reference to the ongoing challenges of climate change.

MAISON
BIRTHDAY
Maison Birthday can be found in Sano City in the Tochigi
prefecture of Japan. This salon’s interior design is so
unique that it is achieving iconic status in the region.
Its concept represents celestial bodies floating through
space. This effect is emphasised by the reflective floor
tiles and the landscape outside. A central sphere is truly
eye-catching, and the space as a whole conveys a cityconvivial
aspect which it’s hoped will become a friendly,
iconic salon that grows with the community.
“The location is a place
where the salon can grow,
while still contributing to the
local community in Sano.”
