Ödülü’nü Mükemmel Ürün Tasarımı kategorsnde kazandığını duyurdu.

AR-GE’ye yatırıyoruz. Alman Tasarım Konsey’nden aldığımız

ödül, cobotlarımızı tasarlama ve akıllı üretm çözümler gelştrme

konusundak başarımızı onaylıyor. Güvenlk, vermllk ve pratklk

sunan tasarımıyla D-Bot’ların brçok farklı uygulama alanındak şletmelern

karmaşık htyaçlarını karşılayacağına nanıyoruz” ded.

Delta D-Bot’ların tasarımında güvenlk hayat önem taşıyor; özellkle

de cobot’ların üretm ortamlarındak personelle etkleşme yönelk

olması amaçlanmıştır. Yenlkç “Reflex Safety” özellğ, teması ışık

hızında algılar ve kazaları önlemek çn anında hareket tersne çevrr,

böylece hem personel hem de ekpmanı korur. Yüksek kaltel sensörler

ve çarpışma algılama entegrasyonu, güvenlğ en üst sevyeye

çıkarır. ±0.02 mm hassasyet ve 6 kg le 30 kg arasında değşen

taşıma kapastesyle D-Bot’lar, karmaşık bleşenlern montajından ağır

paletleme şlerne kadar genş br görev yelpazesnde kullanılablr.

Delta, announced a major milestone for its D-Bot Series Collaborative

Robots (Cobots) as they have been honoured with

the prestigious 2025 German Design Award in the category of Excellent

Product Design. Michael Mayer-Rosa, Senior Director at Delta Electronics,

said, “We are highly committed to innovation, consistently investing over

8% of our revenues into R&D. The award from the German Design Council

confirms our success in designing our cobots and in developing cuttingedge

smart manufacturing solutions. We believe the D-Bots will meet the

sophisticated needs of businesses across a wide range of applications.”

Safety is of vital importance when it comes to the design of the Delta

D-Bots, especially since the cobots are intended for interaction

with personnel in production environments. The innovative “Reflex

Safety” feature detects contact at lightning speed and instantly reverses

movement to prevent accidents, protecting both personnel

and equipment. The integration of high-end sensors and collision

detection (one-finger tap) maximizes safety. With an impressive

accuracy of ±0.02 mm and a payload range from 6 kg to 30 kg, the

D-Bots are versatile and capable of handling a wide array of tasks,

from assembling complex components to managing heavy palletizing.

Buluşması’ programında yaptığı sunumda ekonomk ve sosyal sürdürüleblrlk

ton plastk ham madde thal ettğn ve bu nedenle farklı ülkelere

500 mlyar dolara yakın br kaynak ödedğn anlatan İlkay Yıldırım,

şunları söyled:

“Ülkemzde ayrıca 40 mlyar ton plastk atık var. Öyleyse bz de

ekonomye hzmet etmek adına plastğ, kartonu, tekstl atıklarını

yenden kullanma yöntem le ekonomye ger dönüştürürsek bu ş

başardık dyeblrz. Bu konuda br sosyal farkındalık oluşturmalıyız.

Ekonomk sürdürüleblrlk konusunda kaynaklarımızın verml

kullanılması ve devamlı olarak ger dönüşüm sstem çersnde

sanayde tekrar kullanılablyor olması ülkemzn zengnlğ ve car

açığımızı kapatablmemz çn çok öneml br unsur. Sosyal sürdürüleblrlk

konusunda da breylern, toplumların refahını artırarak

sosyal adaletn sağlanması konusunda konulan br hedef bu.”

information on economic and social sustainability in his presentation

at the ‘Sustainability Meeting’ program.

İlkay Yıldırım said that Turkey imports about 400 thousand tons

of plastic raw materials and therefore pays close to 500 billion

dollars to different countries and added, “There are also 40 billion

tons of plastic waste in our country. So, if we recycle plastic,

cardboard, textile wastes into the economy by reusing them in

order to serve the economy, we can say that we have succeeded.

We need to create social awareness on this issue. In terms of economic

sustainability, the efficient use of our resources and the fact that they can

be reused in the industry within the recycling system is a very important

element for the wealth of our country and our ability to close our current

account deficit. In terms of social sustainability, this is a goal set to ensure

social justice by increasing the welfare of individuals and societies.”

TURCOMAC 'SMART PACKAGING MACHINES’ THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH

THEIR MODULAR DESIGN

Smart sers, genellkle dakkada 150 adede kadar kapastel, elle beslemel paketleme maknelerdr. Düşük-orta

hızlı makneler olarak adlandırılan bu maknelerde hız genellkle operatöre bağlıdır. Radkal ürün

boyutları, 50 μm'den kalın paketler, çoklu ürünler ve ürün geometrs de operatör dışında sık karşılaşılan

durumlardır. Makne tasarımında kalıp kolay değştrleblr şeklde tasarlanmıştır. Standart Smart Makne

teklflernde üç adede kadar kalıp yer almaktadır. Ürün paketleme bobnnn maksmum çapı 400 mm ve

maksmum ağırlığı 25 kg olmalıdır. Bu ölçülern üzerndek bobnler çn özel tasarım bobn grupları çzlmeldr.

Tüm bobn gruplarında manuel ve kolay ayarlanablr bobn sabtleme, paketleme merkezleme sstemler

ve sensör (fotosel) yükseklk ölçüm sstem bulunmaktadır. Otomatk hattı olmayan gıda üretmlernde,

hat sonlarında, yatay paketlemeye uygun temzlk ürünlernde, otomotv yedek parça sektöründe, tek kullanımlık

ürünlerde, kolay saklama ve koruma amaçlı tek kullanımlık maske gb medkal ürünlerde kullanılablr.

In the machine design, the mold is

designed as easy to change.

They are generally manually fed packaging machines with a capacity of up to 150 pcs/

min. In these machines, which are referred to as low-medium speed machines, the speed

is usually dependent on the operator. Radical product dimensions, packages thicker than 50 μm,

multiple products, and product geometry are also common situations apart from the operator. In the

machine design, the mold is designed as easy to change. Up to three dies are included in standard

SMART Machine offerings. Thanks to the special molds, the product can be packaged as tight or

wide as desired. The maximum diameter of the product packaging coil should be 400 mm and the

maximum weight should be 25 kg Special design coil groups should be drawn for the coils above

these dimensions. All coil groups have manual and easily adjustable coil fixation, packaging centering

systems and sensor (photocell) height measurement system. It can be used in food productions that

do not have an automatic line, at the end of the line, in cleaning products suitable for horizontal packaging,

in the automotive spare parts industry, in disposable products that attract great attention after

the pandemic, and in medical products such as disposable masks for easy storage and protection.

2023’te uygulanan yalın üretm sürecne geçş ve 2024 yılında yan

ve Vega Mcrochannel Kondenser serler, çevre dostu teknolojlerle

yüksek enerj vermllğ sağlayarak sektörde yen standartlar belrlyor.

Özellkle Perseus, çevre dostu teknolojs, yüksek enerj vermllğ ve

modüler yapısıyla uygulamada zorluk yaşatan geleneksel saha çözümlernn

standartlarını yükseltyor. Özgün tasarımı sayesnde %100

taze hava le çalışma özellğn genş br çalışma zarfında sağlayablyor.

Adopting long-term and stable growth as its philosophy, Imbat

continues to invest in increasing its production capacity. The transition

to lean manufacturing processes in 2023 and the integration of

the auxiliary factory into Imbat’s production facility in 2024 significantly

boosted its production capacity. This strategic move not only enhanced

the efficiency of production processes but also enabled the company

solutions. At the MCE Milan and Chillventa Nuremberg fairs in 2024, the

efficiency, and modular design. Thanks to its unique design,

it can operate with 100% fresh air across a broad operating range.

It consists of 4 operation units: pre-washing, detergent washing, rinsing and air blowing. All made

of AISI 304 stainless steel material. The drawer type is equipped with easy-to-remove filters.

Spray manifolds are easily removable. Stainless steel v-jet nozzles are used. Steam or electric water heating

option is available. The operator panel is a touch screen with PLC base. Conveyor speed and washing

temperature can be easily adjusted. It has a unique design washing system and specially designed rinsing

lines. Offering a digital control panel and information center, the washing temperature and conveyor speed

can be adjusted. There is a choice of steam or electric heating. Detergent dosing automation has a conductivity

meter system that minimizes chemical consumption. The general usage areas of the SINGLE-

WASH 4200-S-DRY machine are as follows: Tables, crates, tubs in various sizes in the Catering Sector,

meat crates in the Meat, Chicken and Seafood Sector, crates and buckets in the Agriculture Sector, crates,

buckets and molds in the Dairy Sector, trays, crates, cake molds and buckets in the Dessert Sector.

WORLDSTAR 2025'İN KAZANANLARINI DUYURDU

WORLD PACKAGING ORGANIZATION (WPO) ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF WORLDSTAR 2025

Dünya Ambalaj Örgütü (WPO), 09 Ocak 2025 tarihinde inovasyon

ve sürdürülebilirlikte mükemmellik standartlarını belirleyen küresel

ambalaj yarışması WorldStar 2025 Ödülleri’nin kazananlarını gururla

duyurdu. Bu yıl, 40 ülkeden 550 başvurunun yapıldığı ve 260

başvurunun rekor kırdığı olağanüstü bir dönüm noktası yaşandı.

En fazla kazananın olduğu ülkelerde ilk beş sırasıyla; Japonya (23

kazanan), Avusturya ve Almanya (her biri 22 kazananla berabere),

Hindistan (19 kazanan), Avustralya ve Yeni Zelanda (18 kazanan)

ve Türkiye (17 kazanan) oldu. WorldStar Ödül Töreni, 30 Mayıs

2025’te Milano’da IPACK-IMA sırasında gerçekleşecek.

Ödül Töreni sırasında WPO ayrıca Başkan Ödülü, Sürdürülebilirlik

Ödülü, Pazarlama Ödülü ve Gıdayı Kurtaracak Paketleme Ödülü dahil

olmak üzere özel kategorilerin kazananlarını açıklayacak. Bu yarışmanın

ambalajdaki küresel gelişmeleri ve sürdürülebilirliğe olan bağlılıkları

çok iyi yansıttığını belirten WorldStar Koordinatörü ve WPO Pazarlama

Başkan Yardımcısı Soha Atallah, “WorldStar’ın en iyinin en iyisini temsil

On January 09, 2025, the World Packaging Organization

(WPO) proudly announced the winners of the WorldStar

2025 Awards, the global packaging competition that sets the standard

for excellence in innovation and sustainability. This year marked

an extraordinary milestone, with 550 applications from 40 countries

and a record 260 applications. The top five countries with the most

winners were Japan (23 winners), Austria and Germany (tied with

22 winners each), India (19 winners), Australia and New Zealand (18

winners) and Turkey (17 winners). The WorldStar Awards Ceremony

will take place during IPACK-IMA on May 30, 2025 in Milan. During

the Awards Ceremony, WPO will also announce the winners of

Special Categories, including the President’s Award, Sustainability

Award, Marketing Award and Packaging to Save Food Award.

Soha Atallah, WorldStar Coordinator and WPO Vice President Marketing,

said: “This competition reflects very well the global developments

in packaging and the commitment to sustainability. I also want

to emphasize that WorldStar represents the best of the best because

only winners of recognized national or regional competitions can

participate in this competition. This adds another layer of rigor to the

election process and makes the success even more meaningful.”

Süper Film tarafından geliştirilen SUPCYCLE BOPP

ürünleri, doğrudan gıda temasına uygun tüketici

sonrası geri dönüştürülmüş (PCR) ham maddeler

kullanılarak üretilmiş ve tüketimden sonra geri

dönüştürülebilir şekilde tasarlanmıştır.

SUPCYCLE BOPP products developed by Super Film

are manufactured using post-consumer recycled

(PCR) raw materials suitable for direct food contact

and designed to be recyclable after consumption.

Tasarist bu projesine tüketicilerin ürünleri kolayca

hatırlayabilmesi için “ayırt edici görsel marka

varlıkları” tanımlayarak başlamış, bu süreçte “cesur

renkler” trendinden ilham almıştır.

Tasarist started this project by defining “distinctive

visual brand assets” for consumers to easily

remember the products, and was inspired by the

“bold colors” trend.

Korozo’nun yeni geliştirdiği dik duran poşetler,

geri dönüştürülebilir polietilen laminat yapı ile

tasarlanmıştır. Yeniden kapatma için çocuk geçirmez

fermuar gibi çeşitli özellikler sunar.

Korozo’s newly developed stand-up pouches are designed

with a recyclable polyethylene laminate structure.

It offers several features such as a child-proof zipper

for re-closure.

Korozo’nun bu projesi ise dairesel ekonomiye

katkıda bulunmak üzere tasarlanmış, tamamen geri

dönüştürülebilir polietilen malzemeden yapılmıştır. Sert

ambalajlara kıyasla %67 daha az ambalaj malzemesi

kullanan yeni bir ambalaj çözümü sunulmuştur.

This project by Korozo is designed to contribute

to the circular economy and is made entirely of

recyclable polyethylene material. A new packaging

solution that uses 67% less packaging material

compared to rigid packaging.

durumdayız. Artık daha fazla üretmek yerne var olanı doğru ve etkn

population increased by 84 million in 2024, surpassing the 8 billion

mark. Meanwhile, resources in nearly every area from energy to food are

rapidly diminishing. As a result of unrestricted production and consumption,

we have created waste “continents” in many sectors, including machinery,

equipment, technology, and food. Rather than producing more, it is our

responsibility to utilize our existing resources correctly and efficiently. In this

context, re-engineering emerges as one of the most effective strategies

for resource optimization. We spoke with Altuğ Bilgiç, Founding General

Manager of SmartS Engineering, about the significance of re-engineering.

What is re-engineering?

Re-engineering involves redesigning a device, machine, or component

using modern technology to operate with higher efficiency. This method

Yenden mühendslk esasında gerçek sürdürüleblrlk faalyetdr. Şöyle

br örnekle açıklamaya çalışayım: Pompalar dünya genelnde yaklaşık 2

terawattlık enerj tüketm le küresel elektrğn yüzde 10’unu harcar. Bu

rakam, tüm dünyadak yenleneblr enerjnn toplamından ble fazla.

Ortalama 20 yıllık ömrü olan bu ekpmanlar zamanla operasyon koşullarının,

değşmesnden dolayı vermllğn kaybeder. İşte bu noktada

pompayı değştrmek yerne yenden tasarlayıp kullanmak, hem yenden

üretmde kullanılan enerj malyetnden kurtarır hem de ekpmanın

toplam vermllğn artırarak k türlü kazanç sağlar. İş dünyası

sürdürüleblrlğe asıl buradan başlamalı.

Var olan pompaların hdrolk parçalarının yenden tasarlanması ve üretlmesyle

bu pompaların vermllklernn yüzde 20 le 50 sevyelernde

artırılması mümkün. Bu hdrolk parçalar se, br pompanın toplam enerj

malyetnn çok düşük br kısmını oluşturuyor.

Potansyel kazanımları düşüneblyor musunuz?

Maalesef bu yöntem uygulayan çok az şrket var dünyamızda. Pompalama

sstemlernden kaynaklanan güç tüketmnn br dğer boyutu da

bakım yönü. Brçok pompa üretcs bakım çn orjnal yedek parçaların

kullanılması konusunda ısrarcıdır. Bu, stratejk ve tcar açıdan son derece

anlaşılır br durum. Bununla brlkte, son kullanıcıya ulaşmak çn dünya

çapında seyahat eden yedek parçaların naklye malyetler ve güç tüketm

dkkate alındığında çok büyük potansyel optmzasyonların olduğu

görülüyor. Ne yazık k bu durum, ulaşım sektörünün karbon ayak zmzn

üzerndek yükünü artırıyor, sürdürüleblrlğe büyük köstek oluyor.

industries rather than abandoning them entirely. Producing

new products from scratch entails significantly higher energy costs

than re-engineering existing components.

Can we achieve greater efficiency with significantly less effort in

existing systems to save energy?

It is crucial to evaluate and improve existing systems through sound

engineering rather than simply replacing them with new ones. Options

such as smart controls, variable frequency drives, automatic control

systems, innovative hydraulic designs, and predictive and preventive

maintenance plans should be prioritized. Additionally, local spare

parts production is vital, as it significantly reduces energy wasted

on transportation. When local production capacity exists, original

equipment manufacturers must focus on localizing production and

utilizing available resources instead of expanding operations and incurring

further energy losses associated with global energy sources.

What benefits does re-engineering offer for businesses and the planet?

Re-engineering is fundamentally a sustainability initiative. For instance,

water pumps are essential in power plants, agriculture, and

urban networks. Globally, these pumps consume approximately 2 terawatts

of energy, accounting for about 10 percent of total electricity

consumption more than all renewable energy combined worldwide.

With an average lifespan of 20 years, the efficiency of these pumps

declines over time due to changing operating conditions.

Redesigning and reusing these pumps, rather than outright replacing

them, conserves energy costs and enhances overall equipment efficiency,

yielding significant benefits for both businesses and the environment.

Despite billions of dollars spent globally on sustainability

initiatives, many companies merely scratch the surface of the issue.

While almost every organization claims to prioritize sustainability,

there is often more activity in showcasing their efforts than in

substantive change. Instead of pouring vast sums into superficial

sustainability campaigns, we can implement far more effective

practices that genuinely contribute to sustainability.

How much efficiency can we gain from re-engineering?

By redesigning and remanufacturing the hydraulic components of

existing pumps, we can enhance their efficiency by 20 to 50 percent.

These hydraulic parts represent only a fraction of the total energy cost

of a pump. Can you envision the potential benefits? Unfortunately, very

few companies in our world implement this approach. Another aspect

to consider in power consumption from pumping systems is maintenance.

Many pump manufacturers insist on using original spare parts,

which is understandable from a strategic and commercial standpoint.

However, when factoring in transportation costs and energy consumed

in shipping spare parts worldwide, we identify substantial optimization

opportunities. This reliance on long distance transportation contributes

significantly to our carbon footprint and hampers sustainability efforts.

As Muse Food Technologies, we have been serving the food sector for

years. With the machinery we design and produce in the food sector,

readers about the establishment stages and development process of your company?

Founded in 1974 and acquired by Kibar Holding in 1994, İspak has been operating in the flexible packaging

sector for 50 years. Today, our position as one of Turkey’s largest packaging manufacturers is based

on the importance we attach to R&D and our understanding of continuous improvement. Our facilities are

product range?

As İspak, we work with an integrated structure in our production processes from raw materials to the final

product. We keep quality and efficiency at the highest level by performing all processes such as lacquering,

lamination, extrusion, printing, slitting and many other processes in-house. Our product diversity is an

important element of our competitive power in our sector. Especially in the food sector, we offer packaging

solutions with high barrier properties for products such as chocolate, confectionery, dairy, beverages

and snacks. We also operate in sensitive sectors such as medical equipment, pharmaceutical packaging,

hygiene products and pet food. We are one of the pioneers of the sector in technical foil production. We

offer solutions that increase energy efficiency in air conditioning, refrigerator back panels and insulation foils.

For 50 years, how would you describe your position in the sector? How is your company different

from other packaging companies?

As İspak, we define our position in the sector as a leadership focused on innovation and sustainability.

Our half-century of experience, R&D Center and technological infrastructure are

the main factors that distinguish us from other companies in the sector. We contribute to the

circular economy with our environmentally friendly practices such as our solvent recovery facility

and offer sustainable packaging solutions. In addition, our performance, crowned with

awards such as the EcoVadis Gold Medal, reinforces our pioneering role in the sector. At the

same time, we are making our production processes more efficient with Industry 4.0 technologies

and automated warehouse systems implemented in our İzmit plant.

What are the technologies you use in packaging production? What advantage do these technologies

provide to your company?

Our İzmit facility is a modern production facility built with the latest technologies and Digital 4.0 infrastructure

as a Greenfield project to have a ‘clean’ ERP by designing all end-to-end business processes from

scratch at the end of 2017. Parts of our plant, such as the high storage and cylinder processing, are highly

digitalized and highly automated. In this way, we are able to program and automate production processes

with minimal human intervention. Our Solvent Recovery facility has a remotely manageable structure.

oluşmadan çok daha önce tespt etmey ve yönetmey planlıyoruz.

İzmt fabrkamızın yanında nşaatı devam eden knc İzmt tess yatırımımız da yne sektördek

en son teknolojlere sahp kaplama sstemlerne ve MES altyapısına uygun br

şeklde tasarlanıyor. Yaklaşık 30 mlyon Euro’luk bu yen tessmz 2025 yılının başında

devreye almayı planlıyoruz. Tüm bu teknolojk yatırımlar ve süreçler, İspak’ın Djtal 4.0

konusunda sektör ortalamasının üzernde olduğunu ve deal dönüşüme her geçen gün

technologies in the packaging industry, our factory

has systems that continuously and instantly

control printing quality through special camera

systems that we use to monitor product printing

and quality control. Thanks to these systems,

we can ensure 100% quality control over the

entire width and length of the printing surfaces

and take precautions against potential problems

or measures in advance. In addition, we are expanding

big data analytics and IoT technologies

in our facility as part of our investments in MES

(Manufacturing Execution System) infrastructure.

Using this infrastructure, we focus on detecting

potential quality problems and changes

in production trends before they occur by analyzing

the sensors and signals of the machines

with a machine learning system called Predictive

Quality, which we work on with our own teams.

In the next step, we plan to develop this project

as a Predictive Maintenance project as part of

our preventive maintenance efforts, so that we

can identify and manage potential problems

long before they occur while improving quality.

Our second İzmit plant investment, which is under

construction next to our İzmit plant, is also being

designed in accordance with the latest coating

systems and MES infrastructure in the sector.

We plan to commission this new facility, which

costs approximately 30 million Euros, at the beginning

of 2025. All these technological investments

and processes clearly demonstrate that

İspak is above the sector average in Digital 4.0

and is getting closer to the ideal transformation

every day. Thanks to these technologies, our production

processes are becoming more efficient,

sustainable and high quality.

Can you tell us about your innovation processes?

Which factors do you prioritize when developing

new products?

Innovation is the fundamental DNA of İspak. In

2023, we allocated 50% of our innovation budget

to products with reduced environmental impact.

When developing new products, our priority is

sustainability, reducing environmental impact and

How do you guarantee quality in sensitive products such as

food packaging?

Our quality control processes are rigorously applied at all stages,

from raw material procurement to final product delivery. For our

products in the food sector, we produce packaging with high barrier

properties to prevent external factors such as moisture and oxygen

from damaging the products. For example, our glass water top foils

have been developed in accordance with hygiene and safety standards

and we have been a leader in this field for 30 years. We also

conduct regular tests in our high-tech laboratories in our Izmit facility

and produce in accordance with international quality standards.

What innovations do you see in the future of the packaging industry

and how are you preparing for these innovations?

Changes in consumer habits, urbanization and living in smaller

households are driving demand for products that are easy to

open and reseal and practical to carry and use. In this sense,

flexible packaging can meet the demands of consumers. Consumers

are also demanding more information and transparency.

Flexible packaging makes it easier for consumers to make decisions

by providing a better view of product ingredients. The

growth of organized retail and e-commerce is driving demand

for durable and transportable packaging. Sustainability and circular

economy are among the most important trends of the future

in the packaging industry. As İspak, we increase our R&D

investments to develop recyclable and compostable packaging,

and reduce our carbon footprint by switching to environmentally

friendly production processes. We are determined to lead the

sector with both sustainable and consumer-friendly solutions.

What are İspak Ambalaj’s target markets abroad and what are they?

Can you tell us about your national and international growth strategies

and your future plans as a company?

The exports of our sector reach 8 billion dollars. It provides an export

surplus of about 2 billion dollars. As İspak, we have a strong

presence in the international market and export to 40 countries

as one of Turkey’s leading packaging exporters. Our technical foil

products constitute a significant portion of our exports. Our annual

exports are around 40 million Euros, which corresponds to

40 percent of our turnover. We aim to increase this rate to 50 percent.

İspak has a very important position in the Kibar Holding value

chain. The packaging business will continue to grow. When we

look at our value chain, there is Assan Alüminyum, which is a big

flagship. One of İspak’s most important sources in flexible packaging

is Assan Alüminyum, so İspak stands in a strategic place within

this integrity. We are moving forward with the goal of quadrupling

our growth in the next five years. This includes the acquisition of a

plant in Europe, followed by a plant in the United States. Therefore,

İspak continues its activities as a branch focused on growth.

heating and shaping plastic films or sheets. The automated process is monitored and controlled through

touch panels, allowing for the adjustment and regulation of up to 40 temperatures, preselecting the film

speed, and monitoring machine functions.

The Green Dot Industry Awards, organized by the ÇEVKO Foundation

since 2014, highlight companies that stand out with their sustainable

contributions to environmental efforts and use the Green Dot symbol in

Turkey. The awards were presented for the seventh time at a ceremony open

to companies with a Green Dot sub-license agreement. ÇEVKO Foundation

Secretary General Mete İmer emphasized that the Green Dot symbol,

represented by the Foundation in Turkey, appears on more than 400 billion

packages annually, reaching consumers in 170 countries through over

150,000 producers worldwide. He stated: “In today’s world, the transition

to a circular economy has further underscored the importance of the Extended

Producer Responsibility (EPR) model. The Green Dot systems, which

symbolize the financial contributions of responsible producers to recycling

systems, are among the most successful examples of EPR models globally.”

Abd İbrahm - Akıllı Yazılım Projes: Abd İbrahm’n “Geleceğ İyleştrme”

vzyonu doğrultusunda ortaya koyduğu, HEAL2050 sürdürüleblrlk stratejsnn

temel amacı, daha az kaynak kullanarak daha fazla değer yaratmak. Bu

kapsamda, stratejnn lk fazını oluşturan “Akıllı Yazılım” projes le laç ambalajı

olarak kullanılan blster ve dış ambalaj malzemelernn tüketm öneml ölçüde

azaltıldı. Bunun yanı sıra enerj tüketmnde ve lojstk operasyonlarda vermllk

sağlandı. Yapay Zeka tabanlı sezgsel br optmzasyon algortmasına dayanan

Akıllı Yazılım sayesnde 26 ürünün ambalaj boyutları optmze edlerek,

aynı mktarda laç daha az ambalaj malzemes le üretld. Sonuç olarak, 179

ton ambalaj tasarrufu sağlandı, ambalajdan kaynaklı sera gazı emsyonları

kutu başına %28 oranında azaltıldı, 150 hanenn yıllık enerj tüketmne eşdeğer

enerj tasarrufu elde edld ve 1 mlyon Euro değernde fnansal tasarruf

sağlandı. Ayrıca, palet srkülasyonunda da 2.300 adet azalma gerçekleştrld.

Netpak Ambalaj – NetGO Projes: Netpak Ambalaj tarafından gelştrlen

NetGO, çevre dostu ve fonksyonel yapısıyla öne çıkan br taşıma

çantası. %100 ger dönüştürüleblr malzemelerden üretlen bu

sürdürüleblr ürün hem kargo hem de hedye taşımacılığında deal

br alternatf. Yenlkç ve güvenl kapak tasarımı, yetksz erşm engellerken,

taşıma sırasında oluşablecek yıpranmalara karşı da yüksek

dayanıklılık sunar. Taşıma şlem tamamlandığında koruma bandı

açılır ve kulplar ortaya çıkarak pratk br çantaya dönüşür. Ortalama

104 kez kullanılablen NetGO, uzun ömürlü yapısıyla kaynak tüketmn,

atık mktarını ve karbon emsyonlarını azaltır. NetGO, sürdürüleblr

Coca-Cola İçecek - Paletlemede NanoStreç Uygulaması Projes:

Coca-Cola İçecek fabrkalarında üretlen ürünler üretm hattı sonunda paletleme

maknesnde dzldkten sonra, stoklama ve sevkyat esnasında paletn

bütünlük mukavemetnn artırılması ve palet üzernden ürün devrlmelern

önlemek amacıyla, her palet çnde sıra aralarında karton separatörler

kullanılır ve paletn etrafı streç flm le sarılarak üretm hattından teslm edlr.

Her üründe stfleme sırasına göre farklı mktarda karton separatör ve streç

flm kullanılmakla beraber, ortalama 1 palette 5 adet karton separatör ve

350 gram geleneksel şeffaf streç kullanılır. “Nano streç” projes le daha az

kaynak kullanımı le karbon ayak znn ve atık mktarının azaltılması ve üretm

malyetlern düşürülmes amaçlandı. Geleneksel şeffaf streçleme yapılan

tüm ürünlern paletlernde, nano strece geçlerek separatör karton kullanımını

tamamen sonlandırmak ve kullanılan streç mktarını azaltmak hedeflend.

Packaging Waste Prevention Practices Green Dot Industry Awards

Abdi İbrahim – Smart Software Project: Aligned with its vision to “Improve

the Future,” Abdi İbrahim’s HEAL2050 sustainability strategy focuses on

creating more value with fewer resources. The “Smart Software” project,

the first phase of this strategy, optimized the use of blister and outer packaging

materials for pharmaceuticals, significantly reducing consumption.

By utilizing an AI-based optimization algorithm, the project optimized the

packaging dimensions of 26 products, enabling the production of the same

quantity of medicines with less packaging. As a result, the initiative saved

179 tons of packaging material, reduced packaging-related greenhouse

gas emissions by 28% per box, achieved energy savings equivalent to

the annual consumption of 150 households, and generated €1 million in

financial savings. Additionally, 2,300 fewer pallets were used in circulation.

Netpak Ambalaj – NETGO Project: Netpak Ambalaj developed NETGO,

an eco-friendly and functional carrying bag. Made from 100% recyclable

materials, NETGO serves as an ideal alternative for cargo and gift transportation.

Its innovative and secure closure design prevents unauthorized

access and offers durability during transportation. Once the delivery

process is complete, the protective band is removed, and the bag transforms

into a convenient tote. NETGO can be reused approximately 104

times, reducing resource consumption, waste, and carbon emissions.

Encouragement Awards

Coca-Cola İçecek – NanoStretch Application in Palletizing: The “NanoStretch”

project was implemented to reduce resource usage, carbon

footprint, and waste while lowering production costs. By transitioning

from traditional stretch wrap to nano-stretch wrap for pallets, Coca-

Cola eliminated the use of cardboard separators and significantly

reduced stretch film consumption. The project pilot, conducted at

the Tekirdağ-Çorlu facility, successfully eliminated the use of 14

million cardboard separators and 450 tons of stretch film annually.

Sapro – Newipe Next-Generation Baby Wipes: Newipe wipes are

made from next-generation viscose fabric characterized by natural, soft,

and durable qualities. These biodegradable and compostable wipes

decompose faster than generic viscose fabrics, leaving a smaller carbon

footprint. Additionally, recyclable foil packaging was used for the product.

What are the most important features of Feydaş Makina products that distinguish

them from other competitors’ solutions?

Our policy is to try to anticipate customer demands and the problems they may experience and

to offer practical solutions accordingly. Especially new entrants to the plastic recycling sector

may need help with their machinery needs. They consult our expertise for these needs. Instead

of buying each machine from a different brand, the customer sees us as one of the few

alternative companies that can produce all of them and provide spare parts for all of them, and

this brings us to the forefront in customer preferences.

We understand that you have business partnerships with many local and foreign companies.

What are your strategies for international markets? In which countries do you aim to grow?

We aim to expand our market abroad as well as at home, regardless of country. In the first

place, we aim to grow in Eurasia (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, etc.)

and the Middle East region, which are countries that are closer to us as a market and where

our customers and us can visit and make on-site determinations, while we do not ignore the

demands from other regions.

What advantages do your recycling machines provide in terms of waste management

and sustainability?

One of the biggest problems of our age is waste management. Apart from health problems,

irreversible damage is also caused to the ecosystem. Especially the damage caused by plastic

waste stands out in this regard. We offer our business partners the most effective solutions

to minimize this damage with our machines.

What innovations do you see in recycling technologies in the future? How is your company

preparing for these trends?

Especially with the development of artificial intelligence, some of our machines and some

recycling processes that currently require manpower will work without the need for manpower.

We expect new revolutions in automation. Our R&D department continues to research

on the subject and is already integrating some automation into our machines.

AMI has announced that the Injection Molding Expo will take

place on November 12-13, 2025 at the Huntington Convention

Center in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Building on the success of the Injection

Molding and Design Expos that ran in Detroit and Novi, MI in 2022 and

2023 respectively, the exhibition will take place in its own dedicated

hall adjacent to AMI’s well-established Plastics World Expos. The latter

includes four shows focused on compounding, recycling, extrusion and

testing. They will be open on the same days as the Injection Molding

Expo and visitors will be able to attend all the expos for free.

The Injection Molding Expo is designed to bring the injection molding

community together to identify new opportunities and to learn about the

technologies, materials and equipment that will drive the industry forward.

The expo will fill Hall A at Huntington Convention Center and will feature a

wide array of suppliers of: injection molding machinery; auxiliary equipment;

automation systems; molds; hot runners; machine and mold components;

plastic resin and compounds; additives, masterbatch and liquid colors;

design and analysis software; and a variety of industry services.

Kariyer yolculuğuma 10 yıl önce Henkel ailesine katılarak başladım. Evli ve

bir kız çocuğu babasıyım. Türk Henkel’de paketleme / etiketleme ve hijyen

satış sorumluluklarımın ardından, 2023 yılından bu yana da Tüketici Ürünleri

Ülke Satış Direktörlüğü görevini üstleniyorum. Bu görevim kapsamında

Henkel'in yapıştırıcı teknolojilerini müşterilerimize sunuyor, onların ihtiyaçlarını

anlayarak en uygun çözümleri sunmak için ekibimle birlikte çalışıyoruz.

Türk Henkel olarak, yapıştırıcı teknolojilerinde hangi çözümleri

sunuyorsunuz?

Türk Henkel olarak yapıştırıcı teknolojilerinde müşterilerimize oldukça

geniş bir ürün yelpazesi sunuyoruz. Özellikle endüstriyel sektörler için

çeşitli yapıştırıcılar ve sistemler geliştiriyoruz. Bu çözümler, otomotivden

ambalaj endüstrisine, elektronikten mobilya sektörüne kadar

geniş bir alanda talep görüyor. Ürünlerimiz, güçlü performanslarıyla

üretim verimliliğini artırıyor. Eş zamanlı olarak, çevre dostu formüller

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

I started my career journey 10 years ago by joining the Henkel

family. I am married and the father of a daughter. After my

packaging/labeling and hygiene sales responsibilities at Henkel

Türkiye, I have been working as the Country Sales Director for

Consumer Products since 2023. In this role, I present Henkel's

adhesive technologies to our customers, understand their needs

and work with my team to offer the most suitable solutions.

brands and products in the packaging industry. I can show our Technomelt

and Aquence brands from our product portfolio as an example.

We offer various solutions such as water-based and hotmelt adhesives,

sealants, cleaners and protectors. As in all areas of packaging and labeling,

we prioritize providing the industry with quality, safe and customizable

products to meet the different needs of our customers.

You mentioned your wide product portfolio. At a time when simplification

is popular, why do you want to have a broad portfolio?

Our biggest goal is to sell value to our customers. When we think of packaging

and labeling, food and beverage sectors come to mind first. But these

sectors are only the tip of the iceberg. Apart from food and beverage, we

have a range to suit the different needs of many sectors such as ceramics, cat

litter, carpets, citrus, e-commerce. It is also our duty to provide our customers

with solutions that can improve their processes and help them achieve their

sustainability goals. Thanks to our wide range of products, our customers see

us not as a supplier but as a valuable partner in their sustainability journey.

How do you evaluate your position in the packaging and hygiene

sector?

As Henkel Türkiye, we reflect our wide product range in adhesive technologies

to packaging and hygiene areas. Thanks to our wide product portfolio,

we take care to maximize the number of customers we reach in the

sector. Our products not only aim to improve production processes and

Can you explain the difference of Supra series, your most popular

packaging products, compared to its competitors?

Our Technomelt Supra series are polyolefin-based products produced

with the latest technologies. It offers 35% consumption advantage

compared to the old technology EVA-based products. It

can operate at lower temperatures. Reduces maintenance costs by

cleaning the reservoir, hose and nozzles as the product gets used

to it. The reason why Supras are a series is because they have a

variety that can serve different needs such as Supra Cool (working

at low temperatures), Supra ECO (produced with a negative carbon

footprint) and Supra PRO (direct contact with food). With our

Supra range, we continue to deliver value to our customers.

Can you tell us about your transpack packaging solution?

Transpack packaging is a packaging method created from reusable

materials instead of cardboard packaging. This method supports

sustainability by reducing environmental impact and reducing waste.

Reusable packaging benefits consumers because it produces less

waste and contributes to the recycling process. Transpacks can be

easily collected from consumers for reuse after the product inside

has been consumed, as they can be folded down to pallet size.

Finally, can you share with us the contributions of your product

to sustainability based on the features of Transpack packaging?

Pioneers at heart for the good of generations is the common purpose

that unites us all at Henkel. Therefore, sustainable practices

are a part of our company culture and also at the center of our future

vision. In this context, the use of our new Transpack packaging

aynı zamanda tek bir transferde daha fazla ürün gönderme kapasitemizi

de artırdık. Bu, Henkel'in sürdürülebilirlik taahhüdüne önemli bir katkıda

bulunurken endüstriye öncülük eden bir uygulama olarak nitelendiriliyor.

Henkel's hotmelts were packed had a product capacity of 15 to 20 kg and

use of our new Transpack packaging, we have completely eliminated the

use of boxes. The durability and reusability of this innovative packaging allows

us to safely transport our products while minimizing waste.With the

use of transpack packaging, we have not only reduced the use of parcels,

but also increased our capacity to ship more products in a single transfer

- an industry-leading practice that makes a significant contribution to Henkel's

commitment to sustainability. In the future, we will continue to work

for a more livable future by focusing on minimizing environmental impacts.

Trade Fair held in Russia between January 21-24 and Dairytech

Milk and Dairy Equipment Fair held between January 21-23, 2025.

Türkye İhracatçılar Mecls verlerne göre, 2024 yılı Türkye hracatının br öncek

yıla göre yüzde 2,5 artışla 262 mlyar dolara ulaştı. Plastk Sanaycler

Federasyonu Yönetm Kurulu Başkanı Ömer Karadenz, kmyev maddeler ve

mamuller ürün gruplarında, plastkler ve mamullernn hracat lder olduğunu

söyleyerek, 2024 yılı toplam hracatının 9.5 mlyar dolarla lk sırada yer aldığını

açıkladı. Türkye İmalat PMI verlerne göre kasım ayında 48,3 olan manşet

PMI, aralık ayında artarak 49,1 oldu. Eşk değern çok az altında kalan bu gösterge,

son sekz ayın en ılımlı vers olarak dkkat çekt. Türk malat sektörünün

PMI verlernde görülen kayda değer yleşme belrtlernn sevndrc olduğunu

belrten Başkan Karadenz, pek çok sektörde nsp br yleşme görülürken, büyümenn

Accordng to data from the Turksh Exporters Assembly, Turkey’s exports

n 2024 reached 262 bllon dollars, up 2.5 percent from the prevous

year. Despte the global contracton, exports were the hghest n the hstory

of the republc. Automotve became the export champon wth 37.2 bllon

dollars, whle chemcals became our second largest exporter wth 30.8 bllon

dollars. Ömer Karadenz, Charman of the Board of Drectors of the Federaton

of Plastc Industralsts, sad that plastcs and ther products are the export leader

n the product groups of chemcal substances and products, and announced

that the total exports of 2024 ranked frst wth 9.5 bllon dollars. Accordng to

Turkey Manufacturng PMI data, headlne PMI, whch was 48.3 n November,

ncreased to 49.1 n December. Ths ndcator, whch was only slghtly below the

threshold, was the mldest n the last eght months. Statng that the sgns of sgnfcant

mprovement seen n the PMI data of the Turksh manufacturng sector

were pleasng, Presdent Karadenz sad that whle there was a relatve mprovement

n many sectors, growth came only from chemcal, plastc and rubber products

and food products. Pontng out that a sgnfcant porton of the ncreases

n new orders, as n producton, stemmed from the plastcs sector, Karadenz

As Grandpack Packaging Technologies, we have been serving our

customers with our experience in the sector for 16 years. First of all,

we determine the machines our customers need, design them and

start production. We support our customers in the area where the

machines will be installed during machine manufacturing.We have

almost all of the demanded machines under our roof. The main

production machines, horizontal packaging machines, vertical filling

machines, thermoforming machines and all the equipment needed

in production are all gathered under the Grandpack name. This

Doğa Holdng, ger dönüşüm alanına güçlü br grş yaparak

Türkye’dek yatırım portföyünü genşletyor. Holdng bünyesnde

faalyete başlayan Doğa PET, TOMRA’nın sensör tabanlı

ayıklama maknelern kullanarak tüketm sonrası petlerden

gıda ve tekstl uygulamaları çn uygun, en yüksek kaltede PET

çapak ve rPET granül üretm yapıyor. 2024 Ağustos ayının sonunda

faalyete başlayan tess, gelşmş teknolojler sayesnde

maksmum saflık sevyelerne ulaşarak Türkye ve Avrupa’nın

önde gelen ger dönüşüm tesslernden br olmayı hedeflyor.

Doğa PET, Türkye’nn en modern ger dönüşüm tesslernden br

olma yolunda öneml br adım atıyor. Kırklarel Organze Sanay

Bölges’nde bulunan 25.000 m2 kapalı alan olmak üzere toplam

86.000 m2’ye sahp tessnde lk etapta ayda 4.200 ton üzernde

PET şşey şleyerek 3.000 ton/ay PET çapak ve 2.000 ton/ay

rPET granül üretlyor. Tesste kurulumu yapılan dört adet TOMRA

AUTOSORT genel ayıklama maknes, k adet INNOSORT

FLAKE ve k adet AUTOSORT FLAKE çapak ayıklama makneler,

yüksek ürün kaltes ve kapastesn desteklyor. Müşter taleplerne

göre en yüksek kaltede ve farklı çerk sınıflarında üretlen

PET çapaklar, PET Levha üretm çn sunulablrken rPET granüller,

ağırlıklı olarak şşeden şşeye ger dönüşüm ve yüksek kalte tekstl

uygulamaları çn hraç edlyor.

Doğa Holding has expanded its investments portfolio in Türkiye

by making an impressive entry into the recycling field. Doğa PET,

a subsidiary of the holding, produces the highest quality PET flakes and

rPET granules from post-consumer PET, suitable for food and textile

applications by utilizing TOMRA’s sensor-based sorting machines. The

facility, which has begun operations at the end of August 2024, aspires

to become one of the leading recycling plants in Türkiye and Europe by

achieving maximum purity levels through advanced technologies.

Doğa PET has taken a significant step toward becoming one of

Türkiye’s most modern recycling facilities. Located in the Kırklareli

Organized Industrial Zone, the plant covers a total area of 86,000

m2, including 25,000 m2 of indoor place. In its initial phase, the plant

processes over 4,200 tons of PET bottles monthly, producing 3,000

tons/month of PET flakes and 2,000 tons/month of rPET granules.

The facility’s sorting machines include four of TOMRA’s sorting allrounders

AUTOSORT as well two INNOSORT FLAKE and two

AUTOSORT FLAKE units – both flake sorters – and support high

product quality and capacity. Depending on customer demands, the

highest quality PET flakes, produced in various content classes, are

used for PET sheet production, while rPET granules are mainly exported

for bottle-to-bottle recycling and high-quality textile applications.

Doğa Holdng, yenleneblr kaynaklar ve döngüsel ekonomy destekleyen

yen yatırımlar üzerne yoğunlaşıyor. Doğa PET le lk etapta

30 mlyon Euro üzernde yatırım yapan holdng, ger dönüşümün

lokomotf alanlarından br olmasını planlıyor. Doğa PET Genel Müdürü

Dr.Selçuk Gökhan Gerlkhan; “Türkye’de PET ger dönüşümü

son yıllarda öneml br vme kazansa da halen gerçek potansyelne

ulaşmış değl. Öte yandan artık gelnen noktada PET atıklarının kncl

malzeme olarak daha düşük değerde (downcycle) ger dönüştürülmes

değl, gelşmş teknolojk altyapı le orjnal ham maddeye yakın

özellklerde ger kazanılması önem taşıyor. Bu alandak boşluğu

görerek ttz br fzblte çalışması gerçekleştrdk ve yatırım yapma

kararı aldık. TOMRA, projemzn başından ber yanımızda oldu. Tessmzde

8 ayrı TOMRA maknemz aktf olarak çalışmaya başladı.

Müşterlermz tarafından da TOMRA’nın çözümler sektörümüzde

referans olarak kabul edlyor. Bu doğrultuda hatlarımızı gelştrerek

yapacağımız yen yatırımlarımız le TOMRA maknelermzn sayısını

da arttırmayı planlıyoruz” şeklnde açıklıyor. Tessn kurulum sürecnde

novasyonu ön planda tutan Doğa PET, ger dönüştürülmüş nha

ürünler Avrupa ülkeler başta olmak üzere hracat etmey planlıyor.

Doğa PET’n bu alandak yatırımlarında en büyük motvasyonlarından

br, regülasyonlar doğrultusunda ambalaj ve tekstl sektöründe

dünya markalarının ger dönüştürülmüş çerğe olan taleb oluyor.

En büyük başarımız, TOMRA teknolojlernn katkısıyla ulaştığımız

saflık sevyeler

Faalyete başlamaları üzernden kısa br süre geçmesne rağmen çok hızlı

şeklde hedeflenen saflık sevyelerne ulaşıldığını belrten Dr. Gerlkhan, şöyle

açıklıyor: “Saflık sevyelern polmer ve renk olarak k kategorde değerlendryoruz.

Polmer bazında nha ürünün yüzde 99,998 saflık sevyesne sahp

olmasını hedefledk ve bunu başardık. Renk olarak se nha ürünümüzde

yüzde 99 oranında şeffaf PET çeren saflık sevyeler elde etmey amaçlıyorduk.

Bu, açık mav PET dahl olmak üzere nha üründe dğer renklern yüzde

1’n altına düşüreblmes anlamına gelyor. Geldğmz noktada se renk farklılıklarını

yüzde 0,5’n altına düşürerek beklentmzn ötesne geçtk.”

Doğa Holding is also focusing on new investments that support

renewable resources and the circular economy. With an initial

investment of over 30 million Euros in Doğa PET, the holding

plans to make recycling one of the key areas of growth. Dr. Selçuk

Gökhan Gerlikhan, General Manager of Doğa PET, mentioned;

“PET recycling in Türkiye has gained significant momentum in

recent years but has yet to reach full potential. It is important not

to recycle PET waste into lower-value materials but to recover it

with advanced technological infrastructure to produce materials

with properties close to virgin raw materials. After recognizing this

gap in the market, we decided to make an investment, conducting

a thorough feasibility. TOMRA has been with us since the beginning

of our project. Eight TOMRA systems that are now actively

operating in our facility, and since TOMRA’s solutions are recognized

as a reference in the industry by our customers, we plan to

increase the number of sorters as part of our new investments,

which will be made through the development of our lines.”

Doğa PET, which focus on innovation during the facility’s setup

process, plans to export its recycled products, primarily to

European countries. One of the main motivations behind Doğa

PET’s investments in this field is the growing demand for recycled

content in the packaging and textile sectors, particularly

from global brands, in line with regulations.

Achieving purity levels with TOMRA technology is great success

Dr. Gerlikhan has highlighted that the targeted purity levels were

achieved in very short time after the start of operations; “We divide

purity levels into two categories: polymer and color. We had

aimed for a polymer purity of 99.998% for the final product, which

we achieved. For color, our goal was to reach a purity level of 99%

transparent PET in the final product. This includes reducing other

colors, such as light blue PET, to below 1%. At this point, we have

exceeded expectations by achieving color variations below 0.5%.”

Minimizing loss of light blue PET material while reaching high

purity in clear

Doğa PET has also aimed to prevent the loss of light blue PET material

when they are producing only clear flakes, but the company

also separates light blue materials from transparent clear ones when

necessary. The blue bottles, which are sorted as undesired product

when processing transparent clear PET, can be a valuable resource for

other applications. Doğa PET is the first facility in Turkey to achieve this

success, regardless of the input product. At the sorting stage for every

input material, they separate light blue products and recover them to

reuse as per demand. The production line of the facility features four

AUTOSORT machines, TOMRA’s sorting allrounder, which pre-sort

the PET bottles. The first three machines sort PET bottles by material

and color before sending them to the subsequent crushing and wash

20 kategorde 60 ödül verd. TİM Başkanı Mustafa Gültepe, “2024, hracatımız

açısından zor br yıl oldu. Küresel talep, 2023’ün ardından geçen

yıl da yavaş seyrett. Daha önemls grd malyetler ve kur arasındak

makas açıldığı çn rekabetçlğmz zayıfladı. Özellkle emek yoğun

sektörlerde pazar kayıplarımız oldu. Tüm olumsuzluklara rağmen yılı

yüzde 2,5 artıda kapatmayı başardık. 262 mlyar dolarla tüm zamanların

en yüksek yıllık hracat değerne ulaştık. Küresel hracattak payımızı

yüzde 1,08’e çıkardık. Zor şartlarda elde edlen bu başarıda elbette

Aegean Exporters’ Associations presented 60 awards in 20 categories

at the ‘Stars of Export Awards Ceremony’. TIM President Mustafa

Gültepe said, “2024 was a difficult year for our exports. Global demand remained

slow last year after 2023. More importantly, as the gap between input

costs and exchange rates widened, our competitiveness weakened. We had

market losses especially in labor-intensive sectors. Despite all the negativity, we

managed to close the year with a surplus of 2.5 percent. At 262 billion dollars,

we reached an all-time high annual export value. We increased our share in

global exports to 1.08 percent. Of course, the contribution of Aegean exporters

was important in this success achieved under difficult conditions. In 2024,

more than seven thousand companies registered with the Aegean Exporters’

Associations contributed 18.4 billion dollars to our exports. We started 2025

with an export target of 280 billion dollars. What this means is this: We need

to increase our exports by 7 percent by 2024. Under normal circumstances,

we can easily do much more. But we also have to take into account develop-

pineapple, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cheese, eggs, meat and fish in

your diet to increase serotonin levels, also known as the happiness hormone.

Consuming these foods, taking advantage of sunlight as much

as possible and exercising will also support mental health and mood.’’

Polimer Teknik, a leading manufacturer of co-rotating twin-screw

extruders, has achieved a new milestone in hot melt adhesive production

with its poex T80 extruder line. This advanced system, renowned for

its efficient production process and high-performance capabilities, introduces

a significant innovation to the industry. Hot melt production heavily relies on

ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)-based adhesives. The poex T80 co-rotating twinscrew

extruder line, developed by Polimer Teknik, processes EVA materials,

adhesives, and various additives to produce high-quality hot melt adhesives.

With a production capacity of 1,000 kg/hour, this system offers superior efficiency

and cost advantages, making it a powerful alternative in the industry. The

production line is equipped with world-class components, providing high-precision

manufacturing through advanced technology. Key system components

include German Brabender gravimetric feeders, Austrian Elin motors, Italian

Zambello high-torque gearboxes, German Mayr torque limiters, and Maag gear

pumps, along with an advanced filtration and underwater pelletizing system.

This combination ensures a durable, reliable, and energy-efficient

production line, reducing operating costs for manufacturers. Applications

of hot melt granules Hot melt granules produced by poex

T80 cater to a wide range of applications. These include granulated

adhesives specifically designed for edge banding machines, as well

as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)-based hot melt adhesive films.

ASD signed a cooperation protocol with QuickCarbon, to support

the carbon footprint calculations and reporting of companies

in the packaging sector and their compliance processes with the EU

Borderline Carbon Regulation Mechanism. This agreement will help

members of the Association of Packaging Manufacturers to achieve

their environmental sustainability goals, while enabling them to effectively

manage and report their carbon footprint.

IN EXPORTS THIS YEAR

2024 yılında gerçekleştrdğ 30,8 mlyar dolarlık hracatla Türkye’nn en fazla

hracat gerçekleştren 2. sektörü olarak başarı stkrarını sürdüren kmya sektörü,

İKMİB’n öncülüğünde 2025 yılına yen hedeflerle güçlü br adım attı.

Türk kmya hracatçıları adına küresel tcarettek değşm y okuyarak sektörün

dönüşümüne öncülük etmeye odaklandıklarını fade eden İKMİB Başkanı

Adl Pelster, 31 Aralık 2025 tarhne kadar SKDM kapsamındak sektörlerde

AB’ye hraç eden frmaların karbon emsyonlarını raporlamaları gerekyor. Ancak

1 Ocak 2026 tarhnden tbaren thalatçılar, thal ettkler ürünlern karbon

çerklerne karşılık gelen SKDM sertfkalarını satın almakla yükümlü olacaklar.

SKDM le karbon çerğ yüksek ürünlern fyatlarının artması, Türk hracatçıların

rekabetçlğn etkleyeblr. Bu nedenle, sektörde karbon ayak znn düşürülmes

krtk hale geld. Keza ham madde de thalata bağımlılığımızı azaltmamız

da büyük önem taşıyor. Bunun çn orta vadede en az 5 tane daha petrokmya

tessne htyacımız var. İKMİB olarak tüm muhataplarımız ve paydaşlarımızla

küresel tcarettek değşme hazır olmak çn gerekl adımları atıyoruz” ded.

Continuing its stable achievements as the 2nd highest exporting

industry of Türkiye with 30.8 billion dollars of export value it achieved

in 2024, the chemicals industry took a strong step into 2025 with new

targets under leadership of İKMİB. Noting that they focus on reading the

change in global trade well on behalf of Turkish chemicals exporters and

lead transformation of the industry, Pelister said one of them is the carbon

border adjustment mechanism that will enter into force in the scope of EU

Green Deal. Companies that export to EU in industries in the scope of CBAM

have to report their carbon emissions until December 31, 2025. However,

from January 1, 2026 onwards importers will be obliged to purchase CBAM

certificates that correspond to carbon content of products they import. Increasing

prices of products with high carbon content with CBAM may impact

competitiveness of Turkish exporters. Therefore, reducing carbon footprint

in the industry became critical. Similarly, reducing import dependency in raw

materials is also very important. In order to achieve this we need at least 5

more petrochemicals facility in the medium run. As İKMİB we take the necessary

steps to be prepared for change in global trade with all our addressees

and stakeholders and conduct discussions before out government as well.
