College
LEARNER
SUPPORT
& HOW IT WORKS
You declare at enrolment that...
You have mental ill health.
You are care experienced.
You are estranged from your family.
You are a young carer.
You have ever had a social worker.
You have a conviction.
You have any other support need you want us to help you with.
Your allocated Mentor from your
curriculum area will contact you in
the first two weeks of college and
arrange a meeting to share support
you can access.
The bursary application form will
be shared with you so you can be
assessed for additional financial
support whilst at college.
Any other professionals working
with you may be contacted to
ensure college are providing the
support you need to succeed.
Your allocated Mentor will
attend professionals’ meetings
to share your voice, the voice of
your teachers and an update on
how you are doing at college.
A member of the Learner Services
team (this may be someone other
than your Mentor) will lead on
any PEP meetings to record and
share progress.
