BC Camping News - Trips & Tips for RVers and Campers

Know Before You Go Camping in BC - information on driving conditions, wildfires and

other important details.

Travel the BC Mountains &

Vineyards Circle Route in Fall

In British Columbia, the ultimate fall

experiences can be found along the

Mountains & Vineyards Circle Route, a

road trip that starts in Kelowna, the largest

city in the Okanagan Valley. This seven-to-

10-day journey passes through Revelstoke

National Park along to Nelson, set on

Kootenay Lake, down to the southern end

of the Okanagan in Osoyoos before

heading back again to Kelowna. And if you

don’t experience everything autumn the first

time? Take the loop again.

Camping at Mabel Lake

Provincial Park in BC's North

Okanagan.

This fall we went back to Mabel Lake

Provincial Park for the first time in years,

and it was even better than last time! We

love the quiet, peacefulness of Mabel Lake.

It has an especially calm feeling in the fall

as the cooler weather sets in. Read more.

Port Renfrew: Fall Camping,

Old Growth Forests & Beautiful

Beaches

Last fall we took a Vancouver Island

camping trip north of Sooke to Port

Renfrew. We started out in Victoria and

traveled to Sooke along Highway 14. We

have spent lots of time in Sooke with family

and were excited to explore beyond to the

Port Renfrew area, especially when most

campers have packed away their gear for

the season. Read more.

Five Spots to Ice Fish and

Camp this Winter in British

Columbia

Ice-fishing is often overlooked as a winter

activity, especially if you live in southern

B.C. But fishing doesn’t stop when the

temperatures drop – it only gets more

exciting. Ice-fishing is a very social activity

that requires only a limited amount of gear

or experience. When solidly frozen, an

entire lake becomes accessible without the

need of a boat, and you don’t need the

often-complicated casting techniques

required in other fisheries. It’s as simple as

drilling a hole, and dropping a line. Read

Winter camping and RV snowbirding (RV

long stays from late fall to early spring) are

growing in popularity in British Columbia

thanks to the province’s mild to moderate

winter weather and over 150 year-round

campgrounds and RV parks. Camping

options range from full-service resorts to

more basic campsites in provincial parks

for self-sufficient campers. Read more.

The Camper's Code:
