FROM THE

PRESIDENT

Submitted by

Glenn Henderson

Every year in the spring season, our club becomes very active

with many adventures on the calendar. This year is no

exception as there are many activities planned. Our club

membership continues to grow as many people are discovering

how much fun we have, and they want to be part of it.

Starting this month, March 17, 2025, we will be meeting at

Yosemite Falls Café in Fresno. Located at 5123 N Blackstone

Ave. The meeting will start at 6:30PM but most of us start

arriving around 5:15PM so we can order dinner before the

meeting starts. This move is temporary, as Club One Casino is

remodeling the room we meet in. We will let you know when we

move back in about six months.

The Super Bowl party hosted by Larry and Janet King on Sunday,

February 9th, was sponsored by Mike and Mary Lou Lebda. We

had many members attend and plenty of good food. We all had a

great time. The Superbowl betting squares were won as

follows, 1 st Qtr. Lorraine Henderson. 2 nd Qtr. Jim

Sickler. 3 rd Qtr. Jeff Engleman. 4 th Qtr. Stephanie Engleman.

On February 15th we had a fun Valentines run up into the hills

with scenic driving and a late lunch/early dinner at Oakhurst

grill and bar 41 lounge. The food and service were excellent.

The restaurant was chosen by Chris and Dee Salazar. It was a

beautiful day, and the scenic driving was enjoyed by all even

with the detours we ended up taking. The run was led by Jimmy

and Jody Webb, the mid sweep was John and Ashley Kelly, the

rear sweep was Josh and Marina Bowling. The run was sponsored

by both the Sons and the Webbs.

I am looking forward to all the upcoming runs.

Here we grow again!

How exciting is it that we have 7 potential new

members! What a diverse group we are in the way we

came about owning a Corvette, the model and how we

came to the club. Diverse but we’re all passionate

about our cars.

We had 71 members attend our February meeting and 7

visitors. As of right now we have 116 members.

JANUARY

SUNSHINE & CLOUDS

By Debbie Garrison

We have Good News this Month!

Janet and Larry King are going to be Great-Grandparents for the 7th time this August.

Our Jimmy and Jody are home after 26 rounds of treatment at Standford Medical Center. Our Jimmy rang the

bell last Tuesday to celebrate the end of his treatment. A group of CVC Members; Freida Null, Julie and David

Sons, Mike and Mary Lou Lebda and Frank Phillips and Dana Beasley made the trip to Standford to surprise

Jimmy.

Besides the fact that it was Robert Still’s birthday the night of our meeting, he had his second

ImmunotherapyTreatment last Friday. The doctors have told him that his tumor shrunk 1.5 centimeters. It’s

very encouraging news.

Joe Bratton and Darlene Trower are on a 12-day cruise to celebrate her birthday and Valentine’s Day. They

will be visiting Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. They will be ending their cruise in Singapore and

plan on spending a few days there.

Kim and Charlie Fosnaugh were on a fantastic cruise last month with their family to celebrate their 50 th

Anniversary. They spent Valentine’s Day in Napa, just the two of them.

Frank Phillips and Dana Beasley spent Valentine’s Day enjoying the beautiful weather at the Genesis

Invitational Golf Tournament at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

Tom and Emily Piercy spent Valentine’s Day in Key West Florida. We will have to get all the details next

month.

A little happy news for Charlotte Renna; her sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Bob Jacalone, have

moved back to California from their home in Maui, Hawaii. Their family is very happy to have them close.

Charlotte is having one of her sought-after raffle dinners with her sous chef and number one helper Bob

Peluso. This time she is honoring those individuals and couples that have contributed to making this club the

great club it is. Diane Tjerrild for her countless contributions whether they are themed decals for our cars or

pens, key chains or Sundae glasses as giveaways she is always ready and willing to give her all and marketing

expertise. Charlie and Kim Fosnaugh for his many years doing our newsletter and handling our website. Julie

and David Sons for her contributions to the newsletter and for stepping in and doing the newsletter this year

and doing a great job. Bruce and Sheri Garlock who from almost the moment they joined the club volunteered

to provide tables, chairs and tablecloths for any club activity at no cost.

Jimmy Webb stepped up to thank Charlotte for her friendship and guidance as one of the Charter Members of

the Club. He reminded us that it is Charlotte’s belief that we should strive to be a Club of Friends. A Family.

She is truly the Heart of our Club.

Keith and I have always said “It’s the cars that brought us together but it’s the people that keep us together”

Larry still thinks

he’s the KING

of his castle.

RING THAT BELL JIMMY WEBB

The ringing of the bell is a common tradition and a symbolic sign that marked the end of Jimmmy’s 25-

day treatment journey. It was so good to be there and help him celebrate his strength and resilience,

and he certainly showed us much love.

He rang the bell as he finished his last treatment and walked out of the treatment room. There were

several of us present and many well wishes of love from others in spirit. It was a joyous moment we

shared with both he and Jody and I can tell it meant a lot to both of them as it signifies the beginning of

his recovery. We love you Jimmy

SEVERAL OF YOU ASKED FOR THIS RECIPE BECAUSE THEY

WERE A BIG HIT AT THE SUPERBOWL PARTY

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9,

2025, at 2:00 A.M.. As we sleep, the clocks

"spring forward" one hour! However, they don’t

adjust themselves (except the atomic ones) so be

sure to stay awake until 2am so you can move

them forward one hour. If you don’t want to

stay up just adjust them before you go to bed.

Did you know that three years ago in March 2022,

the Senate passed legislation to make Daylight

Saving Time permanent. The federal Uniform Time

Act allows permanent standard time but not

permanent DST.

The U.S. Senate passed the Sunshine Protection

Act (S.623), introduced by a Florida senator.

This would have established permanent Daylight-

Saving Time in the U.S. starting in November

2023. To the surprise of many, the Act was

passed by unanimous voice consent.

However, since federal law

does not currently allow

year-round DST, the Sunshine

Protection Act needed to be

passed by the House and then

the President, in June 2022,

the U.S. House failed to

pass the bill, which expired

in December 2022. To be

considered again, it will

have to be reintroduced.

So, here we are once again

turning the TIME!
