Dodge Coronet Super Bee
The famously known Dodge Coronet Super Bee! We’ve had the privilege of interviewing its owner: Jose Sanchez.
We’re delighted to share the history of this incredibly unique car.
It was bought by former Spanish footballer Walter Pandianni, but they did not treat it as well as the car deserved. Subsequently, it ended up in
better hands who carried out a good engine restoration in 2017 at Talleres Diputación by the great Santi (the best American mechanics in Spain).
I fell in love with this car so much that in January 2020 before the pandemic, I decided to sell the 2 Americans I had, a '74 Camaro and a '72
Buick Skylark, with the intention of going to Mataró for the Super Bee. I was lucky and sold the Camaro early, but the pandemic hit in March and I
already thought I wouldn't sell the Buick. Finally I sold it in and without thinking twice, even though we were all confined at home, I took the
whole family and we went to Mataró (Barcelona) to get off the car and it was forbidden to leave the province. He has been at home since May
2020 and will surely always stay here.

Anecdote:
In 2022 they told me that Richard Rawlings would come to Madrid and I didn't think about it, we took the whole family and went to Madrid for the event they
were organizing. What was my surprise, that Rawlings himself gave me the first prize for the car he liked the most of the 100 that were there that day and
apart from that, he offered me an exorbitant amount of money to buy the car and take it to the US to make a chapter with it.
I clearly rejected the offer so it's still with me ;-)
History:
This car was exhibited at the Barcelona International Fair in April 1970. It was sold to a famous singer of the time considered the King of
Catalan Rumba. Pedro Pubill, better known as “PERET”. It was registered in June 1970 in the city of Barcelona, and was owned by the singer
until 1977. I have traffic documents that confirm it and also several acquaintances who have seen the car at the time driven by the singer.
Around 1998, a good friend of mine, Julián Dorado, found out that there was a Dodge for sale in a town in Catalonia. The poor car was
semi-abandoned and he didn't hesitate for a moment to rescue it so he could restore it. Finally, he couldn't do it because another mutual
friend, Oscar, bought it from him to carry out the restoration.
After a couple of years of restoration, it was presented at the Barcelona Fair in 2000.
Characteristics.:
Coupe model of which 3,970 cars were manufactured and only 380 with manual transmission like
this one, 383 cu in engine, unique car in Spain, there is no SUPER BEE more than 70 here. Marker in
Kilometers, because it was manufactured for Spain, that's why it also came with a manual
transmission.

The Spanish Traffic Service (DGT) recently announced that more than 120 new
speed radars will be installed on Spanish roads, of which twenty have already
been operational since January. This brings the total number of speed gauges to
almost 2500, most of which, about 1,500, are mobile devices. Many of these
mobile radars are of the Velolaser type, which are popular with traffic police
officers due to their precision and compact size, as they can be easily placed in
different locations.
In addition to the Written mobile radars, by Sandra there are about 800 fixed radars, which must
always be indicated in advance with traffic signs. An important part of the speed
control are also the trajectory checks, which measures the average speed of
vehicles on a given route and prove to be very effective in maintaining road safety.
Technological progress has led to the development of new methods for speed and
traffic enforcement. Modern cameras, equipped with artificial intelligence, are
increasingly replacing traditional radars. These advanced systems can not only
measures the speed of vehicles in real time, but also evaluate other important
parameters. For example, they can check whether drivers and passengers wear
their seat belts and, thanks to thermal sensors, determine the number of
occupants in a vehicle. A remarkable innovation is the ability of these cameras to
measure the emissions of harmful substances from each passing vehicle in
real-time. This is an important step in monitoring and improving air quality and
the environment. In addition, these systems can use artificial intelligence to
analyse driving behaviour to determine whether a driver may be under the
influence of alcohol or distracted, for example by using a mobile phone while
driving.
These advanced cameras often work in networks, sharing information with each
other about potential offenders. This network enables the DGT to act more
effectively against traffic violations and to improve overall road safety.
