Welcome

to Trump

Land

Donald here, sorry to interrupt you YMCA Ladies and

gentlemen, But have we got a new place and believe me,

I’ve seen a lot of places, and let me tell you, Diaper Dunes

National Park is something else. It’s huge, it’s messy, and

frankly, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Folks, if you’re looking for the ultimate challenge,

Diaper Dunes National Park is where you need to be.

Ah, journalism—once the noble art of delivering

hard-hitting facts, but more often the ancient

practice of yelling political opinions at the

masses through ink-stained fingers. Back in the

1700s-1800s, newspapers weren’t even pretending

to be fair. The Gazette (1789) was basically a

Federalist fan and The National Gazette (1791)

gushed over the everything. Fast forward to

the late 1800s-early 1900s, and we got yellow

journalism, where Pulitzer and Hearst turned the

news into a soap opera, By WWI (1914-1918)

and WWII (1939-1945), newspapers had gone

full propaganda mode, making sure readers knew

exactly who the “bad guys” were—no critical

thinking required.

Then came the 20th with a concept called

“objectivity.” The New York Times slapped on

the slogan “All the News That’s Fit to Print” in

1896, the Associated Press made a business out of

neutral reporting, and the Fairness Doctrine (1949-

1987) told broadcasters to at least pretend to hear

both sides. But, surprise! Big media companies

gobbled up failing independent newspapers,

and neutrality became more of a metric than a

principle.

Now, in 2025, The Washington Post has openly

embraced its bias with the “Two Pillars”

approach—unapologetically championing personal

liberties and free markets. Jeff Bezos himself set

the stage for this shift, prompting the resignations

and a flurry of Twitter meltdowns. Supporters

claim it’s a refreshing dose of honesty, while critics

say it’s just billionaires meddling with the media.

Whether this means more transparent journalism

or just a new brand of curated bias remains to

be seen. Stay tuned—same media circus, new

ringleader.

2

Bias Isn’t the Enemy—It’s the Backbone of Honest Journalism

For years, people have been chasing the mythical

unicorn of “objective journalism,” believing that

news should be a cold, unbiased presentation of

facts. But here’s the truth: no journalist, editor,

or publication is truly neutral. And that’s not just

okay—it’s essential. Journalism with integrity

doesn’t mean pretending bias doesn’t exist; it

means being upfront about it, embracing it, and

using it as a foundation for truth rather than a

disguise for manipulation.

Bias, when acknowledged, acts as a built-in filter

for truth. A publication that openly states its

principles—whether conservative, progressive,

libertarian, or otherwise—allows readers to engage

with its perspective honestly. It lays its cards on

the table, saying, “Here’s how we see the world,

and here’s why.” Compare that to the illusion

of neutrality, where a news outlet claims to be

objective while subtly steering narratives through

selective framing, misleading omissions, or

algorithm. That’s not neutrality—that’s deception.

A reader trying to navigate a landscape of hidden

biases ends up being misled, thinking they’re

consuming pure, unbiased truth when, in reality,

they’re just being guided toward a carefully curated

conclusion.

This is why journalism that openly embraces bias

can still uphold truth and integrity. If a newspaper

is upfront about its perspective, readers can engage

critically, debate ideas, and seek out counterpoints

without feeling duped. Honest bias acknowledges

its stance and then delivers facts through that lens,

allowing transparency rather than false impartiality

to guide the conversation. In the end, journalism

doesn’t die because of bias—it thrives when bias

is acknowledged and used responsibly. The real

threat isn’t taking a stand; it’s pretending not to

while pulling the strings behind the scenes.

PROTEST TRUMP’S

TYRANNICAL POLICIES

Remember,

Donald Trump is a convicted criminal. Trump’s

policy on immigration and all other aspects of civil

society is an example of hate-mongering

Xenophobia, and avid racism at its worst.

Following World War 1 increasing numbers of

Poles, Greeks, and Italians immigrated to the

United States. Congress passed an emergency

immigration law in 1921 that limited the number

of immigrants allowed in the U.S. based on their

country of birth. This xenophobic overreaction

created a response from songwriter and composer

Cole Porter who wrote a ballet protesting the U.S.

discrimination and vicious attack on immigrants.

This ballet is being revived in this second age of

Trump as a reaction to this distorted, hateful,

immigration policy. This Trump policy falsely

distinguishes innocent people who are in the U.S.

legally seeking asylum from their former country

as opposed to a few people who are seeking

immigration as criminals. Everyone who looks

different or talks with an accent

and does not have a permanent

green card is being detained,

harassed, and sometimes deported

The Carrot and the Stick

In a small, picturesque seaside village nestled

in the valley of cat-o’-nine-tails, snake spit, and

wildflowers, lived my dear old dad, Eamon. He

was a grizzled and stoic figure, known for his

wisdom and deep connection to the land. Eamon

had spent his entire life tilling the soil, growing

carrots, and nurturing the earth. He also worked

at Raythreon, and his wisdom was born of years

of hard work and a keen understanding of life’s

simple truths.

One bright Sunday morning, a young preacher

named Samuel arrived in the village. A passionate

and educated man, he believed that education and

knowledge were the keys to guiding people toward

a righteous life.

Their paths crossed one afternoon at the village

square, where a lively debate about the values of

morals was taking place. Curious villagers gathered

around to listen to the exchange between the old

man and the young preacher.

“Education is the key to understanding and living

a moral life,” Samuel began, his voice filled with

conviction. “Without knowledge, how can we

discern right from wrong? How can we truly

understand the teachings we hold dear and apply

them to our lives? Ignorance, after all, can lead us

astray.”

Eamon, leaning on his cane, listened intently, a

twinkle in his eye. With a gentle smile, he replied,

“Ah, young Samuel, knowledge is indeed valuable,

but it is wisdom—gained through experience—

that truly guides us. Let me share with you a lesson

I learned from my carrots.”

I earned through experience that taught me the

true value of patience, perseverance, and respect

for the land. They say that those who learn from

life itself often find the greatest success.”

He went on, “One day, a fierce storm swept

through our village and destroyed many of my

crops. I was devastated, but I didn’t give up.

Instead, I adapted and found new ways to nurse

my carrots back to health. That experience taught

me the importance of resilience and humility—

reminding me that when challenges arise, a

practical mind and a willing heart can turn even

the worst setbacks into opportunities to learn and

grow.”

Samuel listened thoughtfully, beginning to see

the old man’s point. Eamon added, “Knowledge

gives us the rules, but wisdom shows us when

and how to apply them. It’s that kind of common

sense—the ability to see the bigger picture and

make moral choices even when times are tough—

that truly lights our way. As the old adage goes,

‘Understanding comes not just from books, but

from living life.’”

The villagers nodded in agreement, appreciating

the clarity of the old man’s insights. Humbled by

Eamon’s words, Samuel finally replied, “You are

right, Eamon. While education and knowledge are

essential, they must be paired with wisdom and

common sense to guide us on the path of a truly

good life.”

The villagers leaned in closer, intrigued by

Eamon’s words, while Samuel, though skeptical,

was curious to hear the old man’s perspective.

Eamon continued, “I’ve spent many years growing

carrots, tending to them with care and patience. I

learned that no matter how much I understood the

science of agriculture, it was the practical wisdom

A Free Press

Why don’t unauthorized people talk about the free press? Well, it usually starts with them nervously saying,

“I am not authorized to speak on that.” Then they glance around the room, lower their voice, and continue,

“But if I were, I’d choose my free words very carefully.” Finally, with a sly grin, they add, “That’s also

why I’ve brought someone along who will swear they heard me say exactly what you wanted—just in case!”

Swamp Yankees of

Salt Lick Bay

Before I ended up heah, I retired to a wicked cute

beach cottage on the Atlantic. Reconnectin’ with

my Swamp Yankee roots, ya know? The waves had

this habit, right, they’d come in all majestic-like,

then as they rolled back out, they’d drag pebbles

an’ rocks with ’em, makin’ this tumblin’, rumblin’

sound. Honest to gawd, it sounded like nature was

applaudin’ itself, like, “Hey, look at me, I’m the

ocean, ain’t I wicked awesome?”

When visitors stayed for the night, they often

complained bitterly about the noise at first. Yet by

the next morning, they would claim they’d had the

best sleep of their lives. It was like sleeping in the

arms of the ocean itself.

We, the Swamp Yankees, are known for our

resilience, self-reliance, and profound connection

to the land and sea. Some of us were here even

before the Pilgrims landed in 1620. Many of the

early settlers who followed chose these quiet, rural

communities to call home. Our roots stretch back

to those earliest days of American settlement.

Over generations, our culture has grown its own

distinctive traits: a strong work ethic, frugality, and

an honest, straightforward way of life.

When the waves crash against the rocks or pier,

the sound magnifies, turning into a thunderous

symphony. It’s overwhelming—a powerful roar

that reverberates through the structure. It’s a

testament to the ocean’s sheer force and untamed

majesty. This grand display is both awe-inspiring

and humbling, a constant reminder of nature’s

relentless power. Standing by the ocean, life

becomes strikingly clear. Just like the waves,

sometimes it’s calm and serene; other times, wild

and unpredictable. Yet, no matter what, there’s

beauty in both the highs and the lows.

Look at those waves crashing against the shore.

Each one might seem small on its own, but

together, they shape the coastline, carving new

paths and leaving their lasting mark. It’s much like

our lives. Every decision we make, every moment

we live, contributes to the bigger picture. Though

we may feel like tiny drops in the vast ocean, our

actions ripple outward, creating a meaningful

impact.

And love? Love is the lighthouse in this great

ocean of life. Even in the fiercest storms, when

the waters are rough and the horizon is lost, love

guides us home. It’s not always in grand, sweeping

gestures but in the quiet, everyday moments—the

shared laughter, the comfortable silences, the

simple act of being present. These are the things

that truly anchor us.

As we journey through life, we gather these

moments like treasures washed ashore. We hold

on to the joyful ones, learn from the painful ones,

and continue sailing forward. Because, in the end,

it’s not about how far we travel, but how well we

navigate the journey and who we share it with.

Sometimes, I find myself shouting at the relentless

waves, “Why do you ask so much from me?” And,

as if on cue, the echo replies, “Why do you ask so

little of yourself?” It’s a humbling reminder of a

boy I loved who gave me the strength and courage

to embrace my true self and just be me. The

ocean challenges us, urging us to rise above, push

our boundaries, and become the best versions of

ourselves and maybe being better to each other.

MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES

& HISTORICAL/CULTURAL

ORGANIZATIONS IN SOUTH FLORIDA

AND BEYOND FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (February 25, 2025)

By turning DEI from benefit to curse, corporate

and government friends of many LGBTQ+

organizations have gone from generous to

nonexistent. The community faces uncertainty,

in and out of Florida, in and out of the United

States.

Stonewall National Museum, Archives, &

Library (SNMAL) in Fort Lauderdale is one of

the many critical organizations and institutions

finding itself cut-off from major government,

foundations, and corporate financial support

simply because it is LGBTQ+.

In the past year, more than $100,000 of

SNMAL’s state and federal funding was yanked,

more is expected to dry up as the Executive

Orders and new rules pile up. “We expect that

more than half of the 52- year-old, non-profit’s

operating budget will vanish and significant

funding for programs and exhibits will disappear

as well,” said Stonewall Museum’s President and

CEO Robert Kesten. “These cuts are calculated

attacks, taking aim to destroy the historic pillars

of support of the LGBTQ+ community.”

“As we prepare to celebrate the 55th anniversary

of the first PRIDE March, we are forced to look

at our own community’s survival,” said Kesten.

“We need to rally, come together, reach deep

into our pockets and generously support the

organizations that provide our community with

the information, chutzpah, and materials it needs

to survive and come out stronger on the other

side of this onslaught.”

Despite urgently needing the community’s

continued support, Kesten is increasingly seeing

many who are too uncomfortable to give during

these fraught times. In fact, for the first time,

Stonewall’s fast-approaching March 1, 2025,

‘Standing on the Shoulders of Heroes’ Gala,

has a number of unsold seats remaining. The

Gala has fueled and covered half of SNMAL’s

operating and maintenance costs for the last few

years.

“The time to ensure our history is safe and

explore our collections, is now; the time to come

together and to be part of this one-of-a-kind

entity is now,” added Kesten.

Stonewall National Museum is one of the largest

and most significant LGBTQ+ museums and

archives in the world and has carried the name

Stonewall for more consecutive years than any

other organization in the world. For more than

five decades, SNMAL has fought for equality by

tirelessly releasing powerful messages, hosting

dynamic events, launching a solutions-driven task

force in Washington DC, mobilizing educators in

its national education project, recognizing leaders

and heroes and providing an inexhaustible

historic record of achievements, even in the face

of prejudice and hate. And now, SNMAL is

asking the community it serves to have its back.

“Within our walls live the history and culture of

our people. We are the mortar that ties us to our

past and gives us a sense of

17

Who we were, who we are, and

who we will be,” continued

Kessen,

“Silence equals death and we

will not be silenced.”

DDG History 2016

Robert Kesten, Human Rights Advocate, is

President and CEO of Stonewall National

Museum Archives & Library, one of the world’s

largest and most significant institutions of its kind,

celebrating 50+ years of preserving history and

culture in the face of prejudice and hate. Kesten’s

human rights advocacy has taken many forms,

including writing and producing an award winning

documentary on the Holocaust at Concentration

Camps in Poland, working on the Ghanaian

Constitution, coordinating and producing events

leading to Ukrainian independence, producing

events for the first AIDS day treatment center in

the nation, pushing for the decriminalization of

homosexuality in Ukraine (the first Soviet Republic

to do so), challenging book banning, LGBTQIA+

inclusion in schools and navigating anti-LGBTQ

sentiments. Kesten also worked on the West Bank

during the Intifada and was brought into Egypt

and Tunisia during the Arab Spring to try and

establish human rights cities.

Happy Easter in 2025 is on

Sunday, 420

The Easter story is a central

event in the Christian church that

commemorates the resurrection

of Jesus Christ. The Bible states

how Jesus made a triumphal

entry into Jerusalem, and shortly

after, His apostle Judas agreed to

betray Jesus and deliver Him to

the chief priests for thirty silver

pieces. For Christians, Easter is the

remembrance of Christ’s voluntary

death and resurrection to save

humankind from sin and death.

Trans-phobia impacts us all

In Tennessee Williams’ play,

Suddenly Last Summer. (The

screenplay by Gore Vidal - stars

Katherine Hepburn, Elizabeth

Taylor and Montgomery Clift.)

It’s a story about a family secret.

SPOILER ALERT. The main

character, Sebastian Venable, is

homosexual and is murdered while

on a vacation in a particularly

scandalous way. That takes place

in San Sebastian in Spain. And a

portrait of the patron saint hangs in

the Venable home…maybe a copy

of the same one in White Lotus.

How to get yourself Off

The grid.

Living off the grid can be an exciting and fulfilling

lifestyle if you want independence, self-sufficiency,

or a closer connection to nature. Here are some

key steps to help you get started:

Choose Your Location:

States like Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Maine, and

Vermont are known for being off-grid-friendly

due to lenient building codes, affordable land, and

supportive communities

Energy Independence:

Set up renewable energy sources like solar panels,

wind turbines, or micro-hydro systems to generate

electricity.

Focus on repairable energy-efficient appliances

and reduce overall power consumption.

Water Supply:

Develop a reliable water source such as a well,

rainwater harvesting system, or nearby stream.

Consider water purification systems to ensure safe

drinking water.

Food Self-Sufficiency:

Start a garden and learn to grow fruits and

vegetables. Learn about seasonal crops and

preserving food for the winter.

Consider livestock for eggs, milk, or meat if

desired.

Shelter:

learn to Build or adapt a home designed for

energy efficiency (e.g., passive solar heating, proper

insulation). Many people explore tiny homes, earthsheltered

homes, or yurts for off-grid living.

Waste Management:

Compost organic waste and use eco-friendly septic

systems for gray and blackwater. Minimize waste

production by focusing on reusables and recycling.

Skills & Knowledge:

Learn skills like gardening, basic construction,

mechanical repair, and first aid.

Research survival techniques and how to handle

emergencies when living remotely.

Financial Considerations:

Save up for initial investments in land, supplies,

and equipment. Consider generating income

through remote work, crafts, or farming.

Community & Support:

Join off-grid communities or forums to exchange

knowledge, ideas, and support.

Communal Living?

Communal living involves a group of individuals

or families sharing resources, responsibilities, and

often living spaces. It can range from intentional

communities like co-housing or eco-villages to

informal arrangements among friends or likeminded

individuals.

movement. The Foundation for Intentional

Community (FIC) has over 35 years of partnership

with hundreds of intentional communities

around the world. As a movement, intentional

communities have unfulfilled potential to support

the wellbeing of the people who live in them.

In the Heart of a Revolution

Son of a swamp yankee

In the Heart of a Revolution

Hear ye! Hear ye! In the year of our Lord 1776, we

proclaim with fiery passion: The American Revolution hath

birthed a bold and daring democracy, one unlike any the

world hath seen since the

days of ancient grandeur.

These United States

now rise, a beacon of

freedom, casting aside the

chains of monarchy and

aristocracy to establish

a government devoted

to the common people.

Behold the power of

popular sovereignty,

where all authority

floweth from the will

of the people! Let this glorious Revolution echo across the

globe, sparking flames of liberty and inspiring republics far

and wide. God save these United States of

America—and may her light never dim!

Growing up as a true Swamp Yankee in southeastern New

England, Jacob’s life was nothing short of a rough-andtumble

adventure. His world was tangled with wild woods,

salty breezes, and whispers of rebellion echoing through the

tall grass. Every step felt like walking alongside history

itself.

Massachusetts Bay Colony General Court had called for

militia regiments. Theirs was a heritage soaked in resilience

and bravery, and both boys were determined to rise to the

call.

Jacob wasted no time in mastering the art of war—beyond

just his drumsticks. He immersed himself in tactics, maps,

and strategies, leaving many seasoned soldiers in awe of his

skill. For Jacob, it wasn’t just duty—it was destiny.

The day Jacob and Alexander met on the parade ground,

their uniforms hung awkwardly on their wiry frames. Their

youthful energy made up for their lack of stature, and as

the sharp cadence of the drums filled the crisp morning

air, they quickly bonded over shared nerves and unspoken

dreams. That evening in the mess hall, the two found

themselves side by side, balancing plates of stew on a wobbly

wooden bench that seemed better suited for kindling.

“I’m Jacob,” said the boy with a mop of untamed curls and

a grin as mischievous as a fox in a henhouse. He extended

a hand, stew spoon clutched awkwardly in his other.

“What’s your story?”

Alexander hesitated before replying, his accent betraying his

New York roots. “I’m Alexander. New York. And you?”

“Boston,” Jacob replied, leaning in like he was about to

share a secret. “My ma didn’t want me coming. Said I’d get

From the tender age of boyhood, Jacob and his fearless

friend Alexander found themselves caught up in the

stirrings of a nation in turmoil. Too young to officially

join the fray as soldiers, the boys proudly took on the roles

of drummer boys—keepers of the rhythm and bearers of

commands. Little did they know, their beating drums would

someday echo through the pages of history. Jacob knew well

the legacy he inherited, stretching back to 1636 when the

26

and knowing, like he understood the risks but was too

stubborn to care.

Little did they know, their bond would outlast the war

drums and carry them through some of the fiercest battles

of the Revolution. Together, they would not only witness

history—they would help shape it. “But someone’s got

to do it, right? We are 18 your and sttrong and full

of...”

When Jacob finally found their assigned bunks,

tucked side by side near the back of the room,

relief flooded him. “Finally, Here,” he whispered

to Alexander, who dropped his bag onto the cot

next to Jacob’s with a tired grin. They settled in,

the noise of the barracks fading into a low hum as

exhaustion claimed most of the boys.

As the night wore on, Jacob became acutely aware

of Alexander’s presence. The heat from his body

seemed to radiate through the thin space between

their bunks, his breaths steady and warm. The

faint scent of him—a mix of campfire smoke and

something inherently Alexander—lingered in the

air. Jacob’s eyes adjusted to the dim light, tracing

the curve of Alexander’s face, the soft fullness of

his lips just inches away.

Sleep eluded Jacob as he lay there, unable to tear

his gaze away. There was something captivating

about the quiet vulnerability of Alexander in

slumber, his usually guarded expression softened.

Jacob’s thoughts churned, caught between the

surreal intimacy of the moment and an unspoken

longing he didn’t fully understand.

When the first rays of dawn broke through the

barracks window, Alexander stirred, his eyes

fluttering open to find Jacob already awake,

watching him. For a moment, neither of them

spoke. The world outside seemed to hold its

breath, suspended in the fragile stillness between

them.

In the early morning light, Alex woke suddenly, his

chest rising and falling as if he’d been jolted from

a bad dream. Jacob, who had been awake all night,

turned to him immediately. “Are you okay?” he

asked softly, concern threading his voice.

Alex’s breath hitched as he met Jacob’s gaze, the

flickering candlelight casting restless shadows

across their faces. The air between them

crackled with something forbidden, something

unspeakable—yet utterly irresistible.

“Can I kiss you?” Alex’s voice was barely a

whisper, thick with anticipation and the weight of

a thousand unspoken fears.

Jacob didn’t answer—not with words. Instead, he

leaned in, his breath warm against Alex’s lips, a

silent act of defiance in a world that would never

understand. Their first kiss was hesitant, stolen like

a crime in the dead of night, but the moment their

lips met, hesitation melted into something deeper.

It was dangerous. It was reckless. And yet, in that

secret space, hidden from the eyes of a world

that would damn them, it was the only truth that

mattered.

And they weren’t alone in their defiance. Even the

most well-known, the fearless Baron Friedrich von

Steuben—Prussian military strategist, the man

who forged the Continental Army—had stolen

kisses from boys. Their love was whispered of

in the dark corners of history, just as Alex and

Jacob’s would be, daring to exist in a time that

refused to name it. Next issue things get dirty

North America. Its indigenous flora and fauna,

which the Cahuilla people so expertly used, and

its abundant Washingtonia filifera (California

Fan Palm) are breathtaking contrasts to the stark

rocky gorges and barren desert lands beyond. A

moderately graded foot path winds down into the

canyon for picnicking near the stream, meditation,

exploring, hiking or horseback riding. Information

Caution its on a

area of San

Onofre State Beach is

located south of the

state park beaches.

This beach, aka

Gladiator Beach, is at

the edge of the state

park boundary, and the

only way to get there

is by hiking from the

state park. San Onofre is one of the better-known

clothing optional beaches in California.

From the linear parking lot on the bluff, there are

six numbered hiking trails (numbered 1 to 6 north

to south) that lead down to the beach. The nude

beach is south from the bottom of Trail 6. See

Bluffs Beach for more information.

Hike this trail down to the beach, then walk south

on the beach away from the lifeguard tower for

about one-third mile to reach the designated

clothing optional zone. Eventually you’ll find a

fence that divides the state park from federal land

in Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.

San Gregorio Private Beach San Gregorio

Private Beach is a clothing-optional beach on

private property just north of the state-owned

land in San Gregorio State Beach. It’s considered

to be the first nude beach in America.

Helping immigrants facing mass

deportation requires a multi-faceted

approach. Here are some steps you can

take:

Legal Assistance: Support organizations

that provide legal aid to immigrants. Many

immigrants facing deportation do not have the

right to a publicly funded attorney, so donating to

or volunteering with legal aid organizations can

make a significant difference.

Community Support: Engage with local

immigrant advocacy groups. These organizations

often provide resources and support to

immigrants, including legal advice, housing

assistance, and emotional support.

Raise Awareness: Use social media and other

platforms to raise awareness about the issues

immigrants face. Sharing stories and information

can help garner public support and put pressure

on policymakers to protect immigrant rights.

Political Action: Advocate for policies

that protect immigrants. Contact your local

representatives and urge them to support

legislation that provides protections for

immigrants and opposes mass deportation efforts.

Emergency Preparedness: Help immigrants

prepare for potential deportation by ensuring they

have legal documents in order, such as custody

arrangements for children and important personal

documents readily accessible.

Support Networks: Create or join support

networks that can provide immediate assistance

to immigrants in crisis. This can include offering

temporary housing, transportation, or financial

support.

By taking these steps, you can help provide

crucial support to immigrants facing the

threat of mass deportation.

Quotes that reflect the importance of

immigrants and their invaluable contributions

to society.

“We should embrace our immigrant roots and

recognize that newcomers to our land are not

part of the problem but part of the solution.” —

Roger Mahony

“Remember, remember always, that all of us,

and you and I especially, are descended from

immigrants and revolutionists.” — Franklin D.

Roosevelt

“Our attitude towards immigration reflects our

faith in the American ideal. We have always

believed it possible for men and women who start

at the bottom to rise as far as the talent and energy

allow. Neither race nor place of birth should affect

their chances.” — Robert F. Kennedy

In a 1946 commencement address at Lincoln

University, a historically Black college, Albert

Einstein stated that segregation was “not a disease

of people of color. It is a disease of white people”

“We are a nation of immigrants, and if America is

to be great, we must not only protect but cherish

our immigrant heritage.” — George W. Bush

“Immigration is not just a link to America’s past;

it’s also a bridge to America’s future.” — George

W. Bush

“Everywhere immigrants have enriched and

strengthened the fabric of American life.” — John

F. Kennedy

“America was built by immigrants. Almost all of

us have ancestors who braved the oceans—libertyloving

risk takers in search of an ideal—the largest

voluntary migrations in recorded history.” —

George H. W. Bush
