TWO teenage terrors in
Michigan killed a Good
Samaritan for his kindness
after the 17-yearold
stopped to give them
a lift on a dark frigid night —
and fell prey to their carjacking
scheme, lawmen say.
High school senior Jack Snyder
was driving home from his
girlfriend’s birthday party in
February 2023 when he spotted
Justice Chimner, then 14, and Dewond
Estes III, 13, walking in the
cold.
Kindhearted Snyder generously
offered the pair a ride — only for
the baby-faced brutes to fatally
shoot him as they tried to steal his
car, authorities charge.
According to a probable cause
affidavit, the boys had planned to
swipe a vehicle and sell it to someone
Estes had communicated
with on Snapchat. The document
also alleges Chimner shot Snyder
twice, claiming he thought the
driver was reaching for a weapon!
Investigators say the accused
triggerman copped to taking his
mom’s handgun earlier that day.
Despite their ages, the suspects
were charged as adults.
Detective Brandin Huggett,
of the Battle Creek Police
Department, said at the pair’s preliminary
hearing, “I think it was
16 degrees that night and Chimner
said [Snyder] was just trying to be
a nice guy.”
Chimner’s attorney Lee Graham
argued that his client was not involved
in the carjacking because
the messages were swapped on
Estes’ Snapchat account.
Meanwhile, Don Sappanos
— Estes’ lawyer — claimed the
youngster tried to prevent the
shooting by telling Chimner to
“stop” when he saw him pull out
the gun!
Now 14, Estes recently pleaded
guilty to carjacking in a deal with
prosecutors, who agreed to drop
the felony murder charge against
him. He will be sentenced at a later
date.
Chimner, now 15, is facing
charges of felony murder, carjacking
and related firearm offenses.
His trial is scheduled to begin on
Jan. 21.

to a source, the Gimme More singer, 43,
is burning through cash like there’s no tomorrow.
“She blew a fortune on her recent birthday
bash in Mexico, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” says
the source. “Her money managers have been begging
her to slow down her spending. She totally ignores their
warnings, though, and just accuses them of trying to control
her like her father.”
During her 13-year conservatorship, Britney’s dad,
Jamie Spears, controlled her finances, but since its termination,
“she’s refused to listen to anyone telling her
no,” says the source. “Sure, when Britney was doing huge
concert tours and topping the charts, she could spend this
way, but those days are over. She says she’s done with the
music industry, so it’s not as though there’s any potential
for new earnings there.”
The pop star did reportedly earn $12.5 million for her

“April 11, I was having a bad headache,
and I asked my boy for a aspirin,” he recalled.
“Before I could get the aspirin, I
went out.”
Jamie was rushed to Atlanta’s Piedmont
Hospital, where a doctor delivered “some
horrible news” to his family. “He said,
‘He’s having a brain bleed that has led to
a stroke,’ ” the Oscar winner shared, holding
back tears. “ ‘And if I don’t go in his
head right now, we’re gonna lose him.’ ”
On May 4, Jamie woke up and was
transferred to a rehabilitation center in
Chicago, where he learned to walk again.
“It’s changed him,” a source says of the
health scare. “Jamie feels like he’s been given
a second chance. Life is too precious and
he doesn’t want to waste a single minute.”

Wearing prison khakis, the
rapper’s face “lit up” when he spotted
his family members seated in the
second row, says an eyewitness. Led

appeared. “He smiled, waved, blew
them kisses and mouthed ‘I love

that the music mogul appeared to
be in good spirits.
Not for long. Five days later, Diddy’s
request for bail was denied for
a third time. He spent Thanksgiving
behind bars — and is now set to celebrate
Christmas while incarcerated
at the Metropolitan Detention Center
in Brooklyn. The rapper, 55, was
arrested and indicted on charges of
sex trafficking and racketeering on
Sept. 16, and he pleaded not guilty
the following day. His trial is scheduled
to begin in May 2025. Since his
arrest, more than 20 civil suits have
been filed against him, and he has
denied all charges.
It will be a Christmas unlike any
other for Diddy, one marked by loneliness
and without his usual luxuries.
“He’s trying to stay positive,” says a
source. In years past, the Sean John
founder has been surrounded by
famous friends and loved ones, including
his mother and children
— he’s dad to Quincy, 33, Justin,
30, Christian, 26, Chance, 18, twins
D’Lila and Jessie, who turn 18 on
Dec. 21, and 2-year-old Love. Adds
the source: “The holidays will be especially
hard for the family without
their father.”
MIXED EMOTIONS
The cement halls of MDC aren’t
very festive this time of year. “There
are no decorations,” says federal
prison consultant Sam Mangel,
noting that contraband and
anything with sharp edges or pins
are prohibited at the facility. Visitors
are welcome on the holiday, but
stays are brief — Mangel says they
usually last 30 minutes to an hour
— and are limited to four people at

a time. Phone calls are capped at 15
minutes. “When their family leaves,
inmates become very solemn,” says
Mangel. “It becomes very
depressing.” Former inmate Brad
Rouse, who spent time at MDC
between 2008 and 2009 and now
works as a mentor assisting
criminal defendants and their
families, says Christmas was
especially tough on fathers with
young kids at home. “The holidays
were more painful for them,” he
says, adding, “It’s a very hard,
difficult place.”
The inmates are cut a few breaks.
Mangel says staffers give prisoners
time in the enclosed recreation yard
to play sports tournaments, and
they’re free to enjoy dominos, chess
and card games. Religious services
are usually offered, and TVs are on
and tuned to major sports events.
There can be a sense of camaraderie.
“It wasn’t easy to be in jail
during holidays,” says Rouse, “but
we were all in it together.” He recalls
an inmate drawing customized
holiday greeting cards featuring
sketches of Santa or their kids for
fellow prisoners to mail to their
families in exchange for tins of
mackerel. Another former inmate
who was incarcerated in the ’90s
and early 2000s agrees the mood is
lighter, at least for a little while. “Everybody
gives a pass that day,” he
reveals. “Like, if somebody’s gonna
get hurt, don’t do it on Christmas.
Wait until tomorrow, you know?”
The inmate remembers getting a
goody bag on Christmas Day, filled
with things like Reese’s candy, coffee
and powdered drink mixes.
“When everybody was locked in
their cells, they would bring bags
on a push cart and give them out,”
he says, adding, “It was cool. It really
felt like a gift.” For about 10
days before and after Christmas,
the prison commissary would carry
special items, including pepperoni
and provolone cheese, that inmates
try to collect as currency. Mangel
says inmates make something
called “FOGU” with the sweets they
receive. “It’s like a hodgepodge of
candies and cookies, and then they
put a little bit of water or milk into it,
and they mash it into a ball and it’s
their version of a little holiday treat.”
Mangel predicts that Diddy may
eat his holiday meal with fellow
famous inmate Sam Bankman-
Fried, the crypto mogul who was
convicted of fraud and is housed
in the same unit. “I think they’ll
probably eat together and discuss

in last year with their families,” he
says. “They’re from higher socioeconomic
backgrounds before
coming in there. So they can reminisce
[about] what island they were
on last year.”
On the outside, Diddy’s family is
doing their best to remain strong.
On Nov. 4, Quincy, Justin, Christian,
Jesse, D’Lila and Chance posted a
video to their Instagram accounts
showing them all on a call with their
dad, who could be heard on speaker
as Love sang Happy Birthday. The
source says the older boys have been
caring for the younger kids and that
the family “believes in Diddy’s innocence
and that he’ll be exonerated.”
Janice, notes the source, has been
there emotionally for her grandchildren,
who are being cared for
by a close family friend in Florida.
“Diddy’s mom is based in L.A. but
has been back and forth visiting.”
She’s also been a part of holiday
planning, trying to keep things festive
for the kids. “The family will be
honoring [Diddy] on Christmas,”
the source adds, “they’re trying to
speak to him as much as they can.”
Diddy is focused on his defense,
but the hits keep coming. During his
Nov. 22 hearing, prosecutors
claimed he’d been attempting to
obstruct his case by orchestrating
social media campaigns aimed at
tainting the jury pool; they included
redacted notes that had been found
during a jail sweep and alleged he
has “contacted witnesses through
third parties” and used phone accounts
of other inmates. Diddy
denied the claims, and his lawyers
argued that seizing the notes violated
attorney­client privilege.
In late November, fashion designer
Bryana Bongolan filed a
lawsuit claiming he dangled her
from a 17th­floor balcony while
threatening to kill her in 2016. And
on Dec. 8, his longtime friend Jay­
Z was named in an October lawsuit
in which a woman alleges both the
rappers raped her in 2000.
Both men denied all the allegations
and Jay­Z is fighting back
against the anonymous accuser and
her lawyer. As for Diddy, “he’s been
lining up character witnesses and
people who can speak for his side,”
says the source. “This is the toughest
time of Diddy’s life, but he’s not
giving up on himself.”

What’s your advice for healthy living as we age?
BS: Take control of your healthcare. Be proactive and ask questions
about yourself. You know yourself better than you think you do.
Do you think women tend to neglect their health?
BS: Many women have spent a majority of their life taking care of other
people: siblings, parents, grandparents, children. We’re not really taught
to prioritize our own health, and too often a woman asking questions is
dismissed as difficult or hysterical. Women have been taught to power
through things, even when they know something isn’t right.

his breakout role in Silverado, Kevin
decided “to compete with nature. Since
my character didn’t relate to any other
characters on-screen, I shouted at the
hills and stuff like that. Later, when I was
told women like that, I was shocked. It

Calif., Kevin Michael
Costner admitted his
family “was very, very
normal, which made it
a hard choice to become an actor,
since that wasn’t ‘normal’ at all.
The choice of acting could have
been considered indulgent, an indication
of maybe not wanting to
grow up or face the real world.”
Nevertheless, this self-described
“rascal” would make it his world
— starting in college and through
dead-end jobs and challenges,
such as famously having his part
cut from The Big Chill. He endured
such setbacks and went on to become
a star in movies including
Bull Durham, Robin Hood: Prince
of Thieves and JFK — all while
finding the time to be a dad
to his seven children. And
while it may be difficult
to balance everything,
Kevin, who turns 70
on Jan. 18, wouldn’t
have it any other
way. “My life is
bigger than the
movies,” he says.
“That’s what I’m
known for, but it’s
the tip of the iceberg.
I’m not overly
impressed with
what I do. I just take
what I do seriously.
But when I’m done, I’m
also done with it.”

understood that it would be seen as a departure.

come with it. But I still felt like, ‘If I’m going to

Hatfields & McCoys. “Even when it
borders on being embarrassing or
violent or shameful, I’m still thrilled
with the story of our country,” he

anybody,” said Kevin of TV’s Yellowstone.
And yet, he decided to leave after five
seasons. “I believed so much in it. I wanted to
take people on that ride. One season turned
into five, but I wanted to work more than once
a year ... so I could go ahead and do other
things.”
