3D PRINTING
A REVOLUTION IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
WHAT IS 3D PRINTING AND HOW IS IT
REVOLUTIONISING THE FUTURE OF CON-
STRUCTION?
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is an innovative process
in which three-dimensional structures are built up layer by layer on the
basis of digital models. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, in which
material is removed or moulded, 3D printing is based on adding material,
one layer at a time. This technology enables a remarkable degree of
flexibility and precision.
3D printing offers revolutionary advantages in the construction industry; it
simplifies complex construction processes, reduces waste and significantly
speeds up project lead times. Using robot-controlled printing systems,
large components or even complete structures can be manufactured at an
impressive speed.
A key advantage of 3D printing is the ability to realise geometrically
sophisticated designs that are often only possible at great expense using
conventional methods.
Innovative furniture created using 3D printing is setting new benchmarks
when it comes to both function and aesthetics. In the gardening and landscaping
sector, 3D printing makes it possible to create unique structures
that are both decorative and functional, and that blend in perfectly with
the natural environment. Artificial coral reefs created using this technology
provide a habitat for marine life and help to preserve biodiversity. When
used in art, detailed sculptures can be created that redefine traditional
manufacturing processes. This technology is revolutionising the way that
we design and live.
REVOLUTIONARY ADVANTAGES
FOR CONSTRUCTION:
Time-saving
A key feature of 3D printing is its high speed. While the construction of
traditional structures often takes weeks or months, 3D printing can produce
entire buildings in a matter of days.
Material efficiency
The layered structure minimises material losses, because the system only
uses the material that is actually required. This reduces the consumption of
raw materials and avoids waste.
Cost reduction
Reduced material consumption, shorter construction times and lower
labour costs contribute to a significant reduction in overall costs.
Sustainability
Many 3D printing processes use sustainable or recyclable materials such
as concrete with additives made from waste or biodegradable components.
This significantly reduces the carbon footprint.
Precision and design freedom
3D printing facilitates the production of highly complex structures that are
difficult or impossible to realise using traditional methods.
Flexibility
Whether detached family homes, modular residential concepts or temporary
structures – 3D printing is suitable for use in a vast range of applications
that can be customised to meet specific needs.
The advantages of 3D printing are widely diverse and are
both economic and ecological in nature.
COMPLEX SHAPES:
3D printing enables the precise production of
a wide variety of shapes.
2
ORIGINAL HOUSE BUILDING:
In the field of residential construction, 3D printing
allows us to think in an entirely new way.
QUICK, COST-EFFECTIVE, UNIQUE
WIDE-RANGING POSSIBILITIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION
INDUSTRY
The areas of application for 3D printing in the construction industry are highly diverse, ranging from residential
buildings and infrastructure projects to artistic or experimental applications.
Residential construction
3D printing is being increasingly used to create affordable housing
solutions. In particular in regions with a major housing shortage, robust
residential structures can be built quickly and cost-effectively using 3D
printing technologies. Companies around the world are already working
on projects that are revolutionising social housing.
Infrastructure projects
In addition to the construction of buildings, 3D printing is also used for the
production of bridges, support structures and other infrastructural elements.
Thanks to the possibility of printing organic and optimised shapes, bridges
can be created with minimal material requirements and maximum stability.
Modular design
3D printing can play a decisive role in the production of prefabricated
components. These modules are produced in a factory and assembled on
site, which results in a dramatic reduction in the construction time.
THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION LIES IN
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, AND IT HAS
ONLY JUST BEGUN.
Customisable designs
3D printing affords architects the freedom to design unique shapes and
structures. From biomorphic façades to individually designed interior
elements – thanks to the technology, it is possible to realise architectural
concepts that were previously only theoretically conceivable.

powerful mixing of the material guarantees a homogeneous consistency,
which in turn ensures optimum adhesion and strength even in complex
construction projects.
The multiC 3D print head
Versatility and precision for limitless
3D printing applications – from 2K
materials to 3 mm grain.
Particularly light, yet powerful
One of the main advantages of our 3D print head is its low weight
of just 15 kg. This not only facilitates its integration into existing robot-controlled
systems, but also ensures a high degree of user-friendliness
and flexibility in use. Thanks to the robust design, the print head
is guaranteed to deliver consistently high performance even under
challenging conditions.
Cleaning is quick and easy
Thanks to the sophisticated design with quick-release fasteners and easy dismantling, the
3D print head can be cleaned and maintained quickly and easily. This keeps downtimes
to a minimum and increases efficiency during operation. The quick cleaning option is
another advantage for industrial applications where time is a critical resource. A special
non-stick coating in the mixing area ensures less residue.

APPLICATIONS IN THE
LARGE VOLUME RANGE
The PFT SILOMAX 3D print is a machine solution that revolutionises the production
of large-volume structures such as houses, bridges and ceilings.
The PFT SILOMAX 3D print is a continuously
operating mixing and delivery pump for use
with 3D concrete printers.
The PFT SILOMAX 3D print conveys any machine-compatible, 3D-printable
mortar or concrete (up to 8 mm grain size) from silos/containers fully automatically.
After the water has been added to the mixing tube, the material
enters the collection tank of the delivery pump via a horizontally mounted
mixer with its own drive and is pumped from there to the processing plant
at a rate of up to 30 l/min.
With its impressive precision and speed, the system offers an ideal solution
for the challenges of modern construction projects. The ability to
print complex designs directly from digital models reduces the need
for manual steps and therefore saves valuable time.
An impressive advantage of the 3D printing process is the
significant weight reduction, which is achieved through the
targeted placement of material. This enables the production of
lightweight yet stable components that are ideal for bridges
or ceilings with high structural requirements. At the same
time, the construction time is dramatically reduced thanks to
the efficient combination of material conveying and rapid
production.
Be it in residential construction or infrastructure projects
– the PFT SILOMAX 3D print opens up entirely new
horizons for sustainable, cost-efficient and future-orientated
