CYLINDRICAL SHAPE
These lenses allow for a more low-profile
goggle to be designed because it is
only curved along the horizontal axis.
They can provide a very wide field of
view.
TORIC/SPHERICAL SHAPE
These lenses offer a number of benefits to support
visual comfort:
— Bigger lens surface supports improved peripheral
vision in every direction.
— The lens follows the shape of the eye, and is a
uniform distance from the eye, which minimizes
distortion.
— Better antifog properties because there is more
room between the lens and the eye.

WHAT IS VLT
VLT stands for Visible Light
Transmission, and is always given
as a percentage. The higher the
percentage, the more light can pass
through the lens.
LENS CATEGORIES
Lenses are categorized based on
their VLT, with each category being
best suited to a particular type of use.
Category 0 have little to no tint,
whereas category 4, are strongly tinted
and let only a very limited amount
of light pass through.
In ski goggles, category 2 lenses are
best suited to days with extensive
cloud cover, while category 3 are
better on sunnier days. The darkest
category 4 lenses are designed for
use on glaciers where the conditions
are very bright.

Each mirror tint serves a purpose;
and it’s not to grab attention. The
mirror finish is carefully constructed
to reflect light away from the eye
and reduce glare.
Beneath the mirror lie layers of
extra protection. Hydrophobic and
oleophobic coatings, including Ri-
Pel, help keep the surface of the
lens as clean and free of blemishes
as possible. Lens surfaces may also
be treated with anti-scratch and
anti-reflection coatings to keep the
lens pristine. POC goggles feature a
double-layer lens to help minimize
fogging and provide extra eye protection.
A thicker, 1.8mm outer lens
enhances penetration protection.
The Clarity Night Vision lens has
extra layers of anti-reflective coating
to reduce glare from floodlights to
give ultimate focus while racing at
night.

HELMETS
ABS: ACRYLONITRILE
BUTADIENE STYRENE
A very hard plastic used in the helmet shell.
It is widely known for its impact resistance,
strength and durability.
EPP: EXPANDED POLYPROPYLENE
A helmet liner material that can with-stand
multiple impacts, dependent on the severity
of the impact. EPP liners tend to be thicker
than EPS liners.
CARBON FIBER
Exceptionally lightweight and very strong
material used in the helmet shell.
PC: POLYCARBONATE
Stiff and strong material used in the
helmet shell.
It is well suited to thermo-forming to give
a secure bond with the helmet liner.
EPS: EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE
The traditional helmet liner material found
in most helmets (from all manufacturers).
Will compress under force, and tends to
only be suitable for one crash. Lighter
than EPP. EPS liners can be thinner
than EPP liners because EPS has better
impact resistance in terms of volume of
material used.
ABS/PC
A blend of ABS and PC used in some
of our helmet shells. It provides an ideal
balance of durability and stiffness.
ARAMID
Exceptionally strong synthetic fibers that
provide unsurpassed protection against
penetration and enhance the structural
stability of a helmet.
EVA: ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE
This thermoplastic offers rubber-like
qualities, giving softness and flexibility.

PROTECTION APPAREL GOGGLES
VPD: VISCO-ELASTIC POLYME DOUGH
VPD is our highly flexible protective material, viscoelastic
polymer dough. VPD retains its impact
absorption ability regardless of number of impacts. VPD
is malleable and shapes to the form of your body for
a unique and flexible fit, only hardening on impact for
enhanced protection.
DYNEEMA®
Dyneema® is one of the world’s strongest
materials. Around 15x stronger than steel,
the material gives exceptional laceration
protection. A new kind of Dyneema® with
stretch, developed specifically for POC, allows
us to create flexible armor.
GRILAMID
Lightweight, highly impact resistant,
strong and weather resistant plastic,
making it suitable for goggle and
sunglasses frames.
CP: CELLULOSE PROPIONATE
Highly durable plastic well suited to low
temperatures and with excellent optical
properties.
PC: POLYCARBONATE
Strong, highly durable material with
superior optical properties, making it well
suited to use in goggle lenses.
TPU: THERMOPLASTIC
POLYURETHANE
Stiff and strong material used in the
helmet shell. It is well suited to thermoforming
to give a secure bond with the
helmet liner.
