Choosing the Right Lawyer is No ACCIDENT- A Personal Injury Guide - By Jeff Adelman (2025 Edition)
If you are reading this, you likely have been injured as a result of a car accident or slipping or tripping on someone’s premises as a result of negligence. In the pages that follow, I will provide insight as to what you should expect from a lawyer (attorney) fighting on your behalf for personal injuries. This book is intended as a general guide if you are unfortunate to have had this happen to you. It has been with the least amount of “legalese” as possible, so you do not have to be a lawyer to understand it.

Choosing the Right Lawyer is No Accident
Investigators may need to go to the scene to obtain evidence before the
negligent party cleans up or fixes the hazard. Time is of the essence!
8. Once you hire an attorney, do not speak to anyone from the other side
without your attorney being present. If you receive phone calls, direct
them to call your lawyer.
9. Don’t put anything about your incident on social media. It can’t
help you, it can only hurt you.
10. Just like in automobile accident personal injury claims, you MUST
provide all documents, medical records, photographs or other potential
evidence to your attorney. The defendant will find your prior medical
treatment records. Whether you are believable and being honest affects
how much money a defendant will offer you for a personal injury
settlement. Attorneys can guide you if they are aware of negative
information. But if you fail to disclose this information even to your own
attorneys, you could be risking your entire claim. Again, your credibility
in a personal injury claim is everything.
