disrepair

A DAMNING report has 

revealed the extent of the 

damage that led to the abrupt 

closure of the Leeston Library. 

The report, which led the 

council’s senior management 

team to make a decision to 

close the Messines St library 

late last month, pointed to 

many areas where water was 

making its way into the 

building and cited a lack of 

maintenance. 

The council had been 

applying temporary solutions 

for a number of years to try and 

maintain the building until its 

replacement Whata Rau is built 

in 2027. 

The library and service centre 

will move to a temporary 

building on High St from May 5 

until Whata Rau is built. The 

medical centre and Plunket 

will continue to operate in the 

building as where they are has 

been deemed safe. 

Severe water leaks and 

mould were discovered in late 

January when roof repairs were 

being completed. This led to the 

council ordering a report from 

building consultants Maynard 

Marks. 

The extensive report outlines 

two main points of failure – the 

roof and cladding.

Ratepayers won’t pay to 

keep stadium running 


SELWYN ratepayers will 

not have to contribute to the 

running costs of Christchurch’s 

new stadium. 

Venues Ōtautahi, which 

manages Christchurch City 

Council-owned sports and 

hospitality facilities, has 

ruled out ratepayers across 

Canterbury contributing to 

the cost of operating One New 

Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha. 

It has instead developed a 

commercial model that will 

cover the cost of running the 

stadium. While Christchurch 

City Council made no formal 

request for funding from 

neighbouring councils, the 

option had been proposed to 

offset the cost of maintaining 

the facility. 

But Venues Ōtautahi has 

proposed a ticket levy for people 

living outside the city in its 

financial models. 

Said chief executive Caroline 

Harvie-Teare: “The assumptions 

underpinning the ticket levy are 

still being worked through and 

this is a draft placeholder at this 

time.” 

She said by June 30, Venues 

Ōtautahi should have a clearer 

idea of how the ticket levy could 

work.

Lego in fire place 

smokes out home 

A lego piece left on a fire place 

caused a West Melton home to 

become smoke logged last week. 

The family vacated the home. 

No one was injured. The West 

Melton, Rolleston and Darfield 

volunteer fire brigades were 

called to the property. Firefighters 

opened the doors and windows 

to air the house out. 

Three people 

injured in crash 

Two vehicles were extensively 

damaged and three people 

injured in crash at the 

intersection of Birchs and 

Robinsons Rds last week. The 

Lincoln Volunteer Fire Brigade, 

police and an ambulance 

attended. The people involved 

in the three-vehicle all escaped 

with minor injuries.

big boost

THE SELWYN Heritage 

Centre raised $8900 at its Great 

Ellesmere Autumn Clearing 

Sale. 

Centre vice-president Grant 

Clausen said the amount 

raised was twice as much as he 

originally expected. 

Clausen estimated 300 to 400 

people attended the sale. 

More than 100 items were 

sold, the majority of which 

were donated. 

“We really appreciated the 

donors of the goods and the 

enthusiasm from the buyers.” 

The money raised will 

allow the centre to progress 

its two “major” projects – the 

restoration of an 1880s saddlers 

cottage and an 1860s shed from 

Drumroslyn farm. 

Clausen said Leeston is 

fortunate to still have these 

historic buildings and it is 

important to preserve them. 

“It’s saving our history for 

the people of the future to 

understand where we’ve come 

from.” 

After the clearance sale, the 

centre has about $40,000 of the 

estimated $100,000 needed to 

complete the projects.

“The membrane roof and 

TCFC (texture coated fibre 

cement) cladding to both the 

library and medical centre are 

in an advanced state of disrepair 

allowing moisture to enter the 

interior of the building,” the 

report said. 

TCFC cladding was commonly 

used in the 1990s but over time 

it can be prone to cracking when 

moisture penetrates the outside 

layer. 

Part of the cladding showed 

a “very high” moisture content 

reading of 75% when it was 

tested. 

Despite the council doing 

patchwork repairs, the cladding is 

now starting to fail. 

“Although some temporary 

repairs have been undertaken 

which have temporarily prevented 

further water entry, these 

repairs are also starting to deteriorate 

and fail.” 

Community facilities and services 

executive director Denise 

Kidd said the council is well 

aware of the building’s issues. 

“Throughout this time, we have 

implemented a strategy of ongoing 

monitoring and responsive 

maintenance, including targeted 

patch repairs and short to medium 

term remediation exercises. 

“Council undertook this approach 

to ensure the building was 

safe and functioned as it should,

community,” Kidd said. 

Alongside the cladding and 

roof issues, the report also noted 

the sunshade awnings attached to 

the library had several design and 

construction defects that allowed 

moisture to enter. 

It also found the metal roof 

flashing covers had been installed 

flat with no falls to drain moisture 

away. 

There was also no sealant between 

the joints of the flashings, 

allowing moisture to enter the 

roof. The report also found electrical 

cables had punctured the 

roof membrane. It raised questions 

about the building’s future, 

given the extensive remediation 

required if it is to be used again. 

“The only option viable to 

achieve long-term weather 

tightness and compliance with 

the building code would to be remove 

and replace the membrane 

roof, including the plywood 

substrate and the TCFC cladding 

including the plywood (precladding) 

Rab board,” the report 

stated. 

Said Kidd: “We will do what is 

necessary to manage the safety 

of the tenants and public while 

we consider and plan in relation 

to the medium and long-term 

future of the building. 

“This includes the demolition 

of the library portion of 

the building, subject to the 

appropriate consent process, as 

well as some remediation work 

and earthquake strengthening 

to the part of the building that 

houses the medical centre and 

Plunket. 

“Council staff regularly meet 

with the medical centre and 

Plunket to keep them abreast of 

progress.” 

Kidd said the cost of the repairs 

and demolition was yet to be 

determined.

Springs Rd intersection 

gets priority for lights 


TRAFFIC LIGHTS will 

be added to a busy Lincoln 

intersection a year earlier than 

planned. 

The council approved Carter 

Group’s request to bring 

forward the installation of the 

traffic lights which will replace 

the roundabout at the Springs 

Rd, Gerald St, and Ellesmere 

Junction Rd intersection. 

It means the traffic lights 

will be installed in the 2026/27 

financial year instead of 

2027/28. The change will allow 

Carter Group to move ahead 

with stage two of its 2100- 

home Earlsbrook subdivision, 

formerly known as Lincoln 

South. 

The intersection lights were 

required before stage one titles 

could be issued. However, this 

was later amended and they 

now must be added before stage 

two. 

The council was set to 

add lights to the Springs Rd 

intersection after Vernon Drive 

but this has now been switched. 

Staff said doing the work 

on Springs Rd first may make

Verdeco Park resident 

David Page made a presentation 

asking for improvements to 

make accessing Verdeco Blvd 

safer. 

Page said residents have major 

concerns about the impending 

traffic increase when the Earlsbrook 

homes are completed. 

“This is going to move to an 

arterial road, and it is going to 

be a death trap,” Page said. 

“If you can imagine going to 

the supermarket that is going to 

be (on Springs Rd) and someone 

stops to get into Verdeco Blvd, 

there is going to be a lineup 

back to the university.” 

Page wants the council to 

carry out a safety assessment 

and develop a plan for the road 

as soon as possible. 

“It’s lacking strategic insight.”

Crossing 

gets a 

paint job 

RED PAINT has been added to a 

pedestrian crossing in Prebbleton 

to make it more visible. 

The paint was added to the 

Springs Rd crossing as part of the 

council’s regular maintenance 

along with a repaint of the 

crossing, and at the request of 

the Prebbleton Community 

Association. 

Last week, Selwyn Times 

reported that despite the 

improvements, the community 

still wanted a long-term solution 

for the crossing, such as traffic 

lights. 

Christchurch resident Peter 

Marshall (pictured), who visits 

Prebbleton often, said the new 

crossing was a lot more visible and 

he felt safer crossing it. 

A petition for long term 

upgrades started by Prebbleton 

residents Dave and Jenny Adams 

has received 827 signatures.

Consultation opens on Selwyn’s Dangerous, Affected and 

Insanitary Buildings Policy 

We’re reviewing our policy around how we 

deal with Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary 

Buildings and are inviting the community to 

share their feedback. 

The policy sets out the process Council takes when 

a building could pose a serious risk to people’s safety 

or nearby property. The review is part of Council’s 

regular policy updates to meet legal requirements 

under the Building Act 2004 and to ensure the 

community continues to be protected from unsafe 

building conditions. 

The review includes some minor updates to the 

policy including the addition of a flow diagram 

which is designed to provide clarity of the process 

steps taken when a building is identified as being a 

possible risk. 

Robert Love, Executive Director Development and 

Growth, says the policy plays an important role in 

keeping the community safe. 

Leeston Library relocation 

Leeston Library and Service Centre will soon 

relocate to its new temporary site next to the 

FreshChoice supermarket on High Street. 

Doors will open at the new temporary site on 

May 5. 

A temporary mobile library service has been offered 

throughout the April school holidays. This service 

will continue until 24 April and then stop to allow 

library staff time to start preparing the new site for 

opening day. 

The temporary Library and Service Centre will 

remain in place until the brand-new facility Whata 

Rau, is completed in 2027.

“It’s important we’re ready to respond when a 

building poses a potential risk. We’ve suggested 

some improvements that give Council and building 

owners greater clarity to ensure they can act swiftly 

and consistently when there’s a risk to public safety,” 

Mr Love says. 

“We want to hear from our residents to make sure 

the draft policy is clear and effective. Their feedback 

will help ensure the final policy works well for 

everyone.” 

The public are encouraged to review the draft policy 

and provide feedback before the consultation closes 

at 5pm on Friday 23 May.

Lincoln Voice members 

in bid for council seats 


TWO KEY members of a group 

that tried to stop the huge Carter 

Group subdivision in Lincoln are 

running for council. 

Lincoln Voice chair Tracey 

Macleod and committee member 

Aaron McGlinchy say they want 

to bring “more accountability 

and transparency” to the council. 

Both will run as independents 

and not under the Lincoln Voice 

banner. Macleod is standing 

as an at-large councillor, while 

McGlinchy has yet to confirm 

in which ward he will run. An 

at-large councillor is voted on by 

the whole district rather than just 

one ward. 

Lincoln Voice was set up 

to oppose the Carter Group’s 

2100 section development in 

south Lincoln, now known as 

Earlsbrook. 

The development was approved 

by council, a decision Lincoln 

Voice appealed to the Environment 

Court. 

That appeal was torpedoed 

before it could be heard when the 

council controversially approved 

the District Plan, effectively 

ruling out any chance of the 

development being stopped. 

Tracey Macleod 

Only six councillors were 

present to approve the plan at a 

closed door meeting, with mayor 

Sam Broughton also absent. 

Macleod and McGlinchy said if 

elected, they would try and avoid 

a similar process happening 

again. 

Said Macleod: “If I had wanted 

to directly impact the decision 

of PC69 (Lincoln South) I would 

have stood at the last election. 

But I trusted that our councillors 

and mayor would make an 

evidence-based decision and a 

community-based decision.” 

McGlinchy said he would have 

tried to defer the decision so all 

councillors could vote. 

While he could not promise

lower rates, McGlinchy said 

one of his main priorities, if 

elected, would be keeping things 

affordable. 

“I do commit to making sure 

the council runs efficiently – that 

they don’t have spending that 

shouldn’t be made.” 

Macleod said she was also 

focused on affordability but was 

realistic about some of the costs 

facing council. 

“We have to put on our big girl 

and big boy pants and accept 

there are some things we have to 

pay for. 

“But I think we have to be able 

to hold our council to account for 

the things that might be nice to 

haves.” 

IN THE late 19th century, 

Burnham – now one of 

Canterbury’s most fruitful grape 

growing areas – was considered 

“too barren” for settlers used 

to more traditional pastoral 

farming. 

It instead became the site of 

Burnham Industrial School 

in 1874, which was home to 

neglected or troublesome 

children. 

The first freehold owner 

of the land, Richard Bethel, 

named the area after his father’s 

birthplace – Burnham Beeches in 

Buckinghamshire, England.

across the sun was observed 

from Burnham and a stone cairn 

commemorates this.

established in 1923 and was 

rapidly developed to support

Rising to the occasion over Selwyn 

Ballooning started in 

France in the late 1780s. 

Reporter Sam Coughlan 

got a taste of why it is 

still popular 

CLOSE TO 5000-feet above the 

ground in a hot air balloon is not 

where I thought I’d be at 7.30am 

on a work day. 

But here we are. 

Everything is peaceful and 

quiet – save for the occasional 

blast of gas keeping us in the sky, 

and chief pilot Michael Oakley 

chiming in with fun facts about 

the landscape and his ballooning 

adventures. 

Getting to this point took a 

bit of effort, but it was absolutely 

worth it. 

It started with a 4.30am alarm 

to give me enough time to make 

the drive to Oakley’s farm near 

Hororata, where his business, 

Ballooning Canterbury, is based. 

By 6am, we were ready to go. 

There were 12 of us, plus Oakley, 

and we piled into a van that 

took us to Glentunnel Domain. 

With the sun just beginning to 

rise, it was time to start setting 

up the balloon, with everyone 

pitching in. 

Set-up requires unrolling the 

balloon from its bag, before two 

big fans blow cold air inside while 

two of us hold the entrance open. 

Once the balloon is partially 

inflated, the burners are fired up, 

heating the air inside. We climb 

into the basket as the balloon fills 

with hot air and starts to rise.

Before I know it, we are away, 

floating above the trees and heading 

towards the Hororata golf 

course. 

The views are incredible. 

With the Canterbury Plains 

sprawling beneath us, Oakley 

mentions visibility is about 

200km today – it’s easy to tell. 

To the west is Mt Rolleston;

mountains near Lake Tekapo. 

Oakley said if we were just a little 

further over, we’d have a clear 

view of Mt Cook, too. 

Directly below us now is 

Coalgate, and to the left are the 

hills – once home to coal mining 

operations – that gave the township 

its name . 

In the other direction, we could 

spot Lake Ellesmere shimmering 

in the distance. 

As we climbed close towards 

5000-feet, the ground became 

a blur. Aside from Coalgate, it 

was hard to make out any towns, 

though Oakley pointed out the 

Fonterra factory near Darfield. 

Everything is so peaceful. 

According to Oakley, it was 

the perfect morning for a flight 

– clear skies, gentle winds, and a 

gorgeous sunrise. 

He’s been flying since the late 

1990s and has operated Ballooning 

Canterbury since 2012, so I 

trust his judgment. 

We touch down in a grassy 

paddock just after 8am and pack 

the balloon away – rolling it up 

and squeezing the air out – before 

packing it into a bag and sharing 

a glass of champagne to toast the 

adventure. 

The bubbly is a tradition 

dating back to the 1780s, Oakley 

explains. 

In the 18th century, hot air 

ballooning was a groundbreaking 

science. Because most had never 

heard of or seen a hot air balloon 

before, many onlookers were 

afraid and would often attack the 

balloons with pitchforks. 

The first balloonists brought 

champagne with them to offer 

farmers whose fields they landed 

in – an offering to assure them 

they were harmless. The bubbly 

smoothed things over and the 

tradition stuck. 

Today, champagne is still 

offered after balloon flights all 

over the world. 

Oakley tells me flights are 

“365 days a year, if the demand is 

there”. 

With the Hororata Glow 

Festival on May 10, he’s hoping 

to have balloons flying every 

morning that week, offering 

passengers a glimpse of the many 

colourful balloons visiting the 

region for the event.

Memorial to mark 

first Anzac service 


KIRWEE’S WAR memorial 

has been installed just in time 

for what is believed to be the 

settlement’s first Anzac Day 

service. 

Kirwee Community Association 

chair Stu Begg said it will be 

a special occasion. 

The association raised $30,000 

to build the memorial in the 

domain through a number of 

events and grants. 

“In today’s age with money 

real tight, it’s not easy try and 

pluck $30,000 out of the air,” 

Begg said. 

The only hiccup in the installation 

occurred when the crane 

arranged to put the memorial in 

place was not big enough. 

But the issue was quickly 

solved with a bigger crane being 

called in. 

Begg said the association’s 

research showed Friday’s service 

will be the first for Kirwee. 

The memorial features the 

names of 123 Kirwee men who 

fought in World War 1 and 2. 

The plaques have been inset 

on the base. Before Anzac day a 

concrete base will be put around 

the memorial.

recognition of residents who

Intelligro’s top tips for autumn gardening 

Autumn gardening might not have the 

immediate rewards of blooming flowers 

or ripening vegetables, but the work you 

put in now lays the groundwork for a 

healthy, productive garden come spring. 

With the summer days behind us, and the 

cooler months ahead, it may be tempting 

to retreat to the warm indoors, but there 

are still several tasks that can be done. 

1. Clear out spent plants 

Begin your autumn garden clean-up 

by removing dead or dying annuals, 

spent vegetables, and diseased plants. 

This prevents pests and diseases from 

overwintering in the soil and prepares 

your beds for fresh planting in the spring. 

2. Plant spring bulbs 

Now is the perfect time to plant springblooming 

bulbs like tulips, daffodils, 

crocuses, and hyacinths. Get them into 

the ground before the first hard frost so 

they can establish roots over winter. 

3. Protect tender plants 

If you live in a region with harsh winters, 

bring tender potted plants indoors or 

into a greenhouse. For those planted in 

the ground, consider adding a layer of 

mulch or using frost cloth to shield them 

from frost. 

4. Improve your soil 

After harvesting, enrich 

your soil with Intelligro

5. Sow cover crops 

Sowing cover crops can help 

to protect and enrich garden

7. Maintain tools and equipment 

Clean, sharpen, and oil your gardening

Plan to connect sportspeople to trades

Liam Robinson is fronting 

a new campaign aimed at 

helping sportspeople earn 

trade qualifications and also 

encouraging those in the trades to 

get involved in community sport. 

Robinson, captain of both 

Weedons’ premier cricket team 

and Waihora’s division one rugby 

side, has been a carpenter for five 

years. He recently finished his 

qualifications through BCITO, 

the trades training organisation 

behind the campaign. 

Balancing a 45-hour work week 

at Kingston Builders with his sport 

commitments is a big workload, 

but one he’s proud to manage. 

“It just shows you can play sport 

and be in the trades at the same 

time,” he said. 

“That’s really what the message 

is – getting people into sport, 

no matter what level. If they’re 

a retired athlete or a club level 

player, just encouraging them 

to do what they can, whatever 

environment they’re in.” 

BCITO Sport national lead 

Jeremy Benton, who is also 

player-coach at Weedons and 

plays rugby for Waihora, said 

the campaign would take several 

approaches. 

“ At the top, we’re working with 

professional organisations, say 

Super Rugby players, and getting 

them into trade qualifications,” 

he said. 

“Obviously they can’t really 

hold down a full-time trade 

job, but a lot of them are really 

passionate and keen on getting 

into the trades in some capacity 

post sport.” 

Young footballers get a taste of top level 

Prebbleton Football Club hosted two training camps at Kakaha Park last week, run by 

George Cowie Football in partnership with the West Ham Foundation. Cowie, a former 

English first division player with Premier League club West Ham, set up George Cowie 

Football to offer coaching for young footballers in Australia and New Zealand. The 

organisation has since partnered with Cowie’s former club to give players the chance to 

travel to the UK. Prebbleton president Shannon Gilmore’s daughter Everley was one who 

travelled last year, and he was keen to offer more opportunities for young footballers, so 

invited the organisation to host a camp in Prebbleton. About 70 children attended, with 

similar camps held in Palmerston North and Mosgiel. Selected players from the camps will 

be invited to attend a special training camp on the Gold Coast later this year.

Now is a great time 

for making plans and 

doing the prep work for 

the year ahead in your 

garden 

Vegetables 

Autumn is a good time to 

assess the limitations of your 

garden. 

Some questions to consider 

are whether the summer climate 

suited outdoor tomatoes, runner 

beans or onions, and whether 

winter greens were planted at 

the right time. 

Something else to consider is 

improving the vegetable garden 

by having raised beds. 

Not only do raised beds 

ensure better drainage and 

increased soil warmth, they 

also enable the gardener to 

add a layer of clean soil and/or 

compost each year to improve 

productivity. 

To shelter the vegetable plot 

from wind, look at shelter 

made from manuka scrub, 

pine branches or commercial 

windbreak netting. 

If you have hedges, trim 

them now so they remain tidy 

for the next six months. Do 

not cut those from the conifer 

or cypress families back too 

severely or whole sections will 

die off. 

This is the time to clean up 

garden rubbish. Destroy any 

diseased material, then compost 

the remainder. 

Vacant ground can now be 

dug over and lime applied at 

a rate of 100g a square metre. 

Laundry-powder scoops make 

good measures for lime and 

other fertilisers. 

Alternatively, sow some empty 

plots with a green manure 

plant (lupins, oats or barley) for 

digging in during October.

If you have not done so, 

remove all stems, leaves and 

weeds from rhubarb and apply 

a mulch of stable manure, cow 

manure or compost. 

Blood and bone lightly forked 

in is also useful. 

Where winter vegetables 

are growing, control weeds by 

hoeing the ground as often as 

soil conditions allow. 

This also helps control excess 

moisture in the soil and lets 

oxygen penetrate the upper 

levels, where minute life forms 

convert organic material into 

plant foods. 

In the glasshouse, remove

most of the leaves from tomato 

plants to divert plant foods up 

from the roots into the fruit. 

Alternatively, cut off a portion 

of stem with the fruit attached 

and hang in a warm place to 

ripen. 

Plants can be pulled up to give 

the soil a rest. 

If they have been growing in 

containers, throw the old mix 

on the garden, where it will be 

weathered by winter rain and 

frost into rich garden soil. 

Mustard or oat seeds can be 

sown in the greenhouse and 

dug in later to help next season’s 

tomato crop. 


Flowers 

Prepare areas for new plantings 

before the soil becomes sodden 

with winter rain. 

Fresh cow manure can be 

added to retain moisture in light, 

sandy soils, while stable manure 

containing sawdust or straw, or a 

rich garden compost, is best for 

heavy clays. Mix lime into the 

topsoil, but avoid mixing it with 

the manure. 

Perennial plants that have 

grown into large clumps can be 

lifted, divided and replanted in 

ground enriched with compost or 

well-rotted manure. 

Hollyhocks, lupins, 

delphiniums and red hot pokers 

(Kniphofia) look good as the 

back row in a perennial border, 

while Asiatic lilies, Japanese

Get your outdoor furniture winter ready

After a largely unsettled summer, 

autumn is well and truly here and while 

you may already be getting to grips with 

getting things cosy and warm inside, 

don’t forget about your outdoor furniture 

during the colder months. 

Although most outdoor furniture is 

built to withstand the elements, it can 

still face a tough time when we’re hit with 

heavy rain, winds, and even snowfall – but 

fear not, because it’s pretty easy to protect 

and take care of it. 

Most of us will be using our outdoor 

furniture a lot less during the autumn and 

winter, so storing it away is a really simple 

way to keep it safe. 

You may need to enlist the help of a 

friend or relative to help you move any 

heavier items, and – obviously – you’ll 

need somewhere to store it. Ideally, you’ll 

want somewhere dry that you can lock, 

such as shed, garage, or a conservatory, if 

there’s room. 

If none of those spaces area available 

to you, there are options to hire storage 

space, while these do come at an 

additional cost, it may be worthwhile 

splashing out and could be cheaper in the 

long run than running the risk of ruined 

garden furniture. 

Wherever you store it, make sure 

you give it a good clean first and avoid 

placing furniture right up against a wall 

or crowded together as you want air to 

be able to flow freely to stop mould and 

mildew from forming. 

If storing your furniture really isn’t 

an option, then you may want to invest 

in in a shade cover. Shade covers will 

keep your furniture safe year-round, 

offering protection from the sun during 

the summer months as well as the rain, 

ice, and snow in the winter. Choose a 

cover that is durable and waterproof and 

make sure you carefully measure your 

furniture first to ensure your cover is a 

good fit – you’ll want it to be nice and 

snug. Don’t forget to sweep off any buildup 

of ice, snow or dead leaves and debris 

throughout the winter. 

For a cheaper option, you can buy some 

heavy-duty tarpaulin with grommet holes 

in so you can securely tie the tarps down 

to keep your furniture safe however wild 

the weather gets. 

Depending on how sheltered your 

garden is, you might want to consider 

securing your furniture so that it doesn’t 

blow around during strong winds 

– potentially causing damage to the 

furniture itself and your property. 

For smaller items, such as cushions, 

umbrellas, throws, and camping chairs, 

can also be brought inside until the 

weather warms up. If there’s no room 

indoors, you can buy durable storage 

boxes that can be kept outside and 

secured with a lock. Much like larger 

items, make sure everything is clean and 

dry before you pack it away. 

At this time of year, wooden furniture 

can be given a helping hand with an oil or 

stain, just make sure you check that the 

product you’re about to apply is suitable 

for the material your furniture is made of. 

By taking a few simple steps now to 

winter-proof your outdoor furniture you’ll 

be able to enjoy it for years to come.
