FROM THE

PRESIDENT

Submitted by

Glenn Henderson

The summer solstice is getting closer, and we have more

daylight and warmer days.

An effective combination for organizing more gatherings and

Corvette drives.

It is time to prepare our cars for driving. Many friends in the

CVC can accompany each other and travel together. This is what

the club is all about.

The club annual picnic is on Sunday June 1st and as of the last

meeting, on April 22 there were 61members signed up.

Kentucky Derby day at the Eskenders house is Saturday May

3rd It will be a fun day for all.

We have so many activities to participate in and members to

enjoy it with.

Thank you to the members who volunteer their time and effort to

improve these events. We really do appreciate you!

I need a few people to help set up tables and chairs for the

club picnic, and to take them down afterward. Let me know if

you are willing and we will set a time to make it happen.

Bruce and Sheri Garlock have donated their tables, chairs, and

tablecloths again. Thank you both. It is much appreciated.

The board is still experimenting with table and chair placement

at our general meetings at Yosemite Falls Café in Fresno. We

believe we have a better arrangement for next month.

Our club musician Allen Byus has volunteered to bring a large

professional speaker and stand to the general meetings for our

use. This should make it much easier to hear what the board

members are saying. Thank you, Allen!

APRIL

SUNSHINE & CLOUDS

By Debbie Garrison

Robert Still received good news, after his third round of immunotherapy

treatments at double dose level. His tumor has shrunk from 5cm to 1 ½ cm

and it is now operable. He is scheduled for a PET scan on May 2 and

surgery on May 5 th . Please join with me to pray for Robert and the skill

of his surgeons.

Jimmy Webb had his PET Scan and labs, the doctors called and everything

came back clear. God is Good!

My Keith tripped over some roots I left exposed after doing yard work

and took a forehead first header onto the lawn. Thank goodness I had

just watered, and the lawn was soft. Got a huge knot on his forehead,

did not break his glasses, jammed his neck and hurt his ribs. After ice

packs on his head, neck and ribs and a day of rest he is back doing yard

work.

Julie Sons was not feeling very well and did not make it to the meeting.

She was missed and we hope she is feeling better soon.

Kim and Charlie Fosnaugh took their grandchildren on a Spring Break trip

to Angels Camp.

Emily Piercy is in Texas again visiting her new great-grand child. The

third time in five months Tom told us, I think he misses her.

Dee & Chris Salazar’s son Cameron is graduating this May from Fresno

State with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Congratulations Cameron! And Mom and Dad too.

Keeping in school mode-Don Eskender has 33 school days left before

retirement. Woohoo!

Speaking of retirement-Brenda Elrich is retiring May 31 st . Double

Woohoo!!

If you have any Sunshine or Clouds or just something to share with your

Corvette Family, you can text or email me anytime.

SATURDAY NIGHT MOVIES WITH

THE FLYING GROUP - APRIL 2025

A group of about 14 of us met on Saturday night

April 12, 2025 at Triangle Drive-In for a burgers

and fries.

We caravaned over to the hangar at Sierra Sky

Park and met with the Flying Group for fellowship

and the trivia game.

The movie this month was Need For Speed

starring Aaron Paul as a muscle car mechanic and

his friends that drove in underground muscle car

races. He reluctantly gets involved with a

wealthy but treacherous associate. He gets framed

for a crime he did not commit and goes to jail

for two years. When released he is bent on

revenge and gets involved in a high-stakes race.

It was a good movie that kept you on the edge of

your seat.

The EAA Flying Group provided popcorn, water &

soda and there was a selection of desserts to

share with everyone.

Thank you, Diane Tjerrild and the EAA Chapter 376

Group, for hosting the movie and for the

invitation.

Come join us on the second Saturday of May, June,

September and November for a free movie and

snacks.

Wear your Club Badge and bring a dessert to

share.

Thanks to those of you that joined us at Triangle

and for the movie.
