The AIMMP - Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries
- is a public utility institution at the service of companies and
entrepreneurs since 1957, proudly serving the sector and the Portuguese
economy.
With a dedication to businesses, our mission is to represent, defend,
support, and promote the Wood and Furniture Industries in order to
contribute to the success of their entrepreneurs and workers, primarily
through a continuous effort of influence, promotion, and provision of
services and initiatives for the development of this sector, which is
organized into 5 divisions: Cutting, Felling, Sawing and Packaging of
Wood; Panels, Other Wood Derivatives and Biomass Energy; Carpentry and
alike; Furniture and alike; Export, Import and Distribution of Wood and
Wood Derivatives.
With the support of COMPETE 2030, AICEP, IAPMEI, IEFP, and PRR -
Programa Recuperar Portugal - we have implemented a set of funded
projects with proven results and countless added value in the sector´s
competitiveness in Strategic Axes, aiming to empower the sector,
enhancing its value and growth, namely:

- Circular Economy
- Certification
- Innovation
- Talent Promotion and Retention
- Entrepreneurship
We have developed a Market Segmentation Strategy, managing a
portfolio of national and international brands and we promote Awards
and Competitions that encourage and foster innovation in the sector,
structuring connections between knowledge, industry, and the creative
community.
Through CFPIMM – the Professional Training Center for the Wood
and Furniture Industries, a protocol entity with IEFP, we offer a
comprehensive training program that qualifies Human Resources and
promotes Talent.

The impacts of our activity are evident in the substantial growth of
this forest-based industry, which is of enormous relevance to the
Portuguese economy. This growth is reflected in economic indicators
and exports, which have doubled in value over the past ten years. The
social and environmental impact of this productive activity, based on the
valorization of wood, is undeniable. The transformation cycle starts in
the forest, an essential resource for the quality of life on our planet.

In recent years, due to its vast experience and remarkable flexibility,
Portugal has shown a high degree of dynamism and creativity in the wood
and furniture sector becoming one of the major global suppliers.
Through Inter Wood & Furniture - a structured intervention program
dedicated to internationalization - more than 400 companies, through
more than 190 actions in more than 32 markets were supported with
incentives up to 50%, having certainly contributed to the growth of
the sector which, since 2010, has doubled its exports and expanded its
destination markets.
