An editorial feature in the journal
Welcome everyone to the 141st edition of the RE’s annual Fellows and Associates
exhibition.
Four words, four descriptions,
IMAGINATION - invention, transformation, permutation, communication.
VISUALISATION - design, texture, pattern, shapes.
FORMALISATION - patterns, movements, relationships, changes.
INOVATION - materials, variations, separations, combinations.
Artists use the I.V.F.I. code of practise in any combination they choose, however
without the ability to arrange and construct within this simple ‘creative alphabet’,
much art is conceit and deception.
We live in a world of dynamic and radical change, and not all of that is good.
The printing press and the digital realm work in tandem with heart and hand. They
combine, to combat bigoted ideals, fear, and ignorance.
“So go I.V.F.I. yourselves despots, and charlatans of the modern world”.
Enjoy the exhibition, it is the RE’s tradition and privilege to produce it.
