Say it LOUD! 2025 BIPOC PRIDE
In Our Own Voices (IOOV) is proud to present our 19th annual Pride event: Say it Loud! BIPOC* Pride! This is a truly unique event for our region. Say it Loud! BIPOC Pride is an opportunity for us to unapologetically celebrate the courage, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities to the larger LGBTQIA+ community in New York’s Capital Region. Not only do we seek to provide a safe and enjoyable space for LGBTQIA+ BIPOC, our allies, families, and friends, we also create opportunities that link our communities with inclusive, sensitive, and affirming resources and health screenings free of charge through our Health & Wellness Expo. In 2024, we had close to ninety (90) exhibitors providing/promoting services that addressed the physical, mental, spiritual, political, economic, and cultural needs of attendees. We hope to provide space for even more exhibitors in 2025! IOOV is also excited to enter into our second year of partnership with A Big Gay Market which provides opportunities and safe space for LGBTQIA+ small businesses, makers, and consumers. Pride has come to symbolize a moment of respite for our community members. And Say it Loud! BIPOC Pride helps us meet that need while also creating space to improve health outcomes, combat isolation, and provide access to resources and services that LGBTQIA+ BIPOC individuals and families would not receive otherwise. This June, we’re honoring strength and power– not only in who we are, but also in what obstacles we are able to overcome. *Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color

A MESSAGE
FROM OUR CEO
As one of the oldest LGBTQIA+ organizations created to serve the unique and intersecting needs
of BIPOC individuals and families in the nation, we know firsthand that communities of color face
difficulty navigating and communicating our perspectives within the larger community. Say it
Loud! BIPOC Pride is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of over 5,700
LGBTQIA+ BIPOC individuals in the Capital Region, and to ensure that their voices and experiences
are at the table and amplified.
Recently, there have been numerous efforts to halt progress, silence voices, and dismantle programs
and systems that promote diversity and inclusion. These efforts impact us all - especially those who
have traditionally been forced to exist in the “margins” of mainstream society including, but not
limited to: LGBTQIA+ communities, women, immigrants, religious minorities, folks with physical/mental
challenges, individuals living with HIV, and more. We cannot let those efforts rob us of our joy, or
cause us to forget who we are- a strong, resilient, and vibrant community that will not be erased! It is
more important than ever for us to come together in unity to celebrate, mobilize, and fellowship.
IOOV remains committed to advancing the health and wellbeing of our family here in the Capital
Region (and beyond). As we celebrate another year of service, we look forward to increasing our
capacity to combat marginalization, develop strong leadership, and create positive, long-lasting
change for all.
As I always like to say, “If this is your first BIPOC Pride, ‘Welcome.’ If not, thank you for joining us for
another year to say, ‘We are here and we are PROUD to be who we are!’”
