BekaertDeslee introduces BALANCE
Collection and groundbreaking sleep
innovations at Interzum 2025
BekaertDeslee is set to showcase its BALANCE Collection along
with two groundbreaking technologies focused on sustainability
and sleep wellness at Interzum 2025.
WAREGEM –
BekaertDeslee, one
of the world’s leading
producers of mattress fabrics and
covers, has officially announced
its participation in Interzum 2025,
the world-renowned trade fair for
furniture production and interior
design. The event will take place
from May 20 to 23, 2025, in
Cologne, Germany.
Known as one of the most
influential global trade fairs in the
furniture industry, Interzum brings
together leading companies,
industry professionals, and
innovators from across the world.
For BekaertDeslee, Interzum
2025 presents an ideal platform
to debut its newest collection,
BALANCE, along with two
disruptive technologies aimed at
transforming the sleep experience
through design, functionality, and
sustainability.
BALANCE: A DESIGN JOURNEY
INTO HARMONY AND OPPOSITES
The BALANCE Collection reflects
BekaertDeslee’s commitment to
fusing craftsmanship, design, and
innovation into an integrated vision
of harmony and mindfulness. The
collection invites users to embrace
the coexistence of opposites—
boldness and calm, form and
function, light and shadow—within
their personal sleep environments.
Koen Bodyn, Design Manager
Europe and Design Support
Manager at BekaertDeslee,
describes the inspiration behind
the BALANCE Collection:
“With BALANCE, we sought
to capture the harmony that
emerges from contrast. The
collection is a journey into
balance—between textures,
colors, and moods—where
serenity and energy can coexist.
In a world that moves fast,
BALANCE offers a sense of calm,
making it easier to reconnect with
oneself in restful environments.”
Each fabric within the collection
is developed with sustainability
and user comfort in mind. Utilizing
eco-conscious materials and
innovative textile techniques,
BALANCE aims to enhance
both aesthetic appeal and
environmental responsibility. It
is not merely a collection; it is a
mindful design statement for the
modern era.
REVOLUTIONIZING SLEEP: TWO
BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGIES
In addition to the BALANCE
Collection, BekaertDeslee
will unveil two transformative
technologies that promise to
reshape the future of sleep
textiles.
12 SleepTech • May - June
The first innovation features
biodegradable microcapsule
technology designed to enhance
sleep quality naturally. Embedded
into the mattress fabric, these
capsules gradually release
active ingredients that support
the body’s natural melatonin
production. This contributes
to smoother sleep onset and a
more restorative rest, all without
chemical dependency.
The second innovation addresses
a common concern among
mattress buyers: the unpleasant
odor often associated with
newly unpacked mattresses.
BekaertDeslee’s new odorneutralizing
technology ensures
a fresher, cleaner, and healthier
unboxing experience by
significantly reducing chemical
smells right from the start. This
development is particularly
valuable in the context of
compressed, boxed mattress
models widely sold online.
SUSTAINABILITY WITH
MEASURABLE IMPACT
Sustainability lies at the core
of BekaertDeslee’s mission. At
Interzum 2025, the company will
highlight how it is moving toward
a fully circular product portfolio.
A key example is the newly
developed Infinity cover, which
combines high performance with
long-lasting eco-responsibility.
In a further step toward
transparency and accountability,
BekaertDeslee will also introduce
a carbon footprint measurement
tool. This groundbreaking
solution enables brands and
manufacturers to assess the
environmental impact of various
fabrics and covers based on real
data. The tool supports better
decision-making and encourages
the adoption of sustainable
practices across the industry.
CEO ERIC LACHAMBRE:
“INTERZUM IS MORE THAN A
TRADE FAIR—IT’S A MEETING OF
MINDS”
BekaertDeslee’s CEO, Eric
Lachambre, shared his excitement
about the company’s participation
in Interzum 2025:
“Interzum is not just a trade fair
for us—it’s a convergence point
for ideas, collaboration, and
inspiration. We are thrilled to
reconnect with our customers and
partners and to present a preview
of the future of sleep innovation
and sustainability. We invite
everyone to visit our booth in
Cologne and experience firsthand
what we’ve been working on.”

They’re changing the game in
mattress manufacturing
Backed by innovation and future-forward engineering, Fasmac
Fabric Solution Machine may be young—but it’s already making
waves on a global scale.
Fasmac Fabric Solution Machine
is a young and dynamic
company specializing in
mattress production machinery. With
a strong engineering background
and a solution-oriented production
mindset, the company has made a
name for itself in a short time. Thanks
to its investments in R&D, it offers
not only serial production machines
but also custom-designed solutions
tailored to clients’ needs. Aiming
to carry its domestic success to
international markets, Fasmac Fabric
Solution Machine plans to become an
active player in the global arena with
its advanced technology.
Abdullah Özarslan, R&D Manager
and one of the founding partners of
Fasmac Fabric Solution Machine,
together with co-founder Abdulkerim
Göçlü, shares how they blend
years of industry experience with
an innovative mindset to deliver
customer-focused solutions.
SPECIALISTS IN MATTRESS
MACHINERY
Can you briefly summarize the
Abdulkerim Göçlü - Co-founder
establishment process of your
company and its current position?
We are curious about the story
behind your specialization in a
niche area like mattress production
machinery.
“As two partners who have worked
for many years in companies serving
the sector, we founded our company
in 2022. After each of us spent
approximately 7–8 years in the
industry, life led us to start our own
company, and we are still serving the
mattress sector.”
Abdullah Özarslan, R&D Manager
A PRODUCT PORTFOLIO
STRENGTHENED BY INNOVATIVE
SOLUTIONS
What are the standout
technologies in your product
portfolio, and what recent
innovations have you introduced
to enhance efficiency in
mattress production?
“Our product portfolio includes
automatic mattress edge
sealing machines, automatic
mattress packaging machines,
base shrink machines, quilting
cutting machines, and mattress
production lines. We also
design custom solution-oriented
machines tailored to our
customers’ needs.
Our recent innovative
developments are related to
base production facilities. With
these machines, manufacturers
can produce more with fewer
employees.”
24 SleepTech • May - June
INDUSTRY 4.0 COMPLIANCE AND
DIGITAL INTEGRATION
In which areas do digitalization
and automation manifest
themselves in your production
processes? Can you share the
steps you have taken towards
Industry 4.0 compliance?
“In terms of digitalization, our
machines can be integrated into our
customers’ ERP systems, allowing
data flow to be recorded. If the
customer does not have an ERP
system, the machine can at least
send the product data to the relevant
unit via email.”
VISIBILITY IN NEW MARKETS
What are your plans regarding
participation in trade fairs, and
how do you view their role in
building brand visibility in new
markets?
“Frankly, since we are still new,
we haven’t had the opportunity to
participate in any fairs yet. However,
we plan to attend the new fair to be
held in Istanbul IBIA Expo this year.”
AMBITIONS FOR GLOBAL
EXPANSION
What role does export play
in your current operations,
and how are you positioning
the Fasmac brand for greater
recognition in international
markets?
“Currently, our export activities make
up about 25% of our production.
We are more active in the domestic
market. However, we are continuing
to work on expanding abroad. I
believe that by 2026, 60% of our
production will be export-oriented.
While European countries currently
make up the majority of our exports,
African and American countries are
among our future targets.”
SUSTAINABILITY WITH MINIMUM
MALFUNCTION RATES
Sustainability and eco-friendly
production are of great
importance today. What path are
you following in this context?
“One of our visions as a company is
sustainability. In other words, we aim
to establish a fast service network
and minimize chronic malfunctions
in our machines. Over the past three
years, the data has shown that the
malfunction rate of our machines is at
a minimum level.”
INVESTMENTS
THAT WILL
DEFINE 2025
What are
the standout
innovations
and product
launches we
can expect
from Fasmac in
2025?
“We began 2025
with an innovative
base production
line. This new line has revolutionized
the way bases are manufactured. In
the near future, we will introduce new
machine designs that will shape the
future of mattress production. These
will soon come to light and meet with
esteemed manufacturers.”
A CALL TO TÜRKİYE’S MATTRESS
MACHINERY MANUFACTURERS
As we close our interview, is
there a message you’d like to
leave our readers with—one
that reflects your company’s
vision and your outlook on the
future of mattress machinery
manufacturing?
“As everyone knows, there are many
competing companies in the sector,
and this number continues to grow.
However, this is not a disadvantage
for us; on the contrary, it is an
advantage. Even though we are a
new company, our innovative machine
designs have given us the opportunity
to compete with many established
firms.
Finally, I would like to emphasize
that Türkiye has made a significant
name for itself in the field of mattress
machinery production worldwide.
To maintain this success, I advise
all machine manufacturers to work
hard, move away from traditional
production methods, and think
innovatively. Otherwise, we risk losing
our place in a world where technology
is rapidly advancing.”

New trends in sewing thread
start with Özen İplik
Renowned for its green manufacturing mindset and trailblazing
thread solutions, Özen İplik Sewing Thread Manufacturing is
poised to make waves at Interzum 2025 with a sustainability-first
approach.
Founded in 1972, Özen !plik is
today one of the pioneering
companies in environmentally
and technologically advanced sewing
thread manufacturing, exporting to
75 countries. We interviewed Engin
Kalkan, Sales Manager at Özen !plik,
about their sustainability investments,
digitalization journey, and Interzum
2025 goals.
EXPORTING 70% OF ITS
PRODUCTION TO 75 COUNTRIES...
How did Özen İplik’s journey
begin, and how has its vision
evolved over time?
“Özen !plik began operations in 1972
in a 12 m² shop in Mercan, focusing
on sewing thread trading. Founded by
Chemical Engineers Hasan Hüseyin
Kalkan and Mehmet Ali Kalkan, the
company started production in a
modest 100 m² workshop in Kumkapı
in 1975.
The dyeing plant was later
established on a 1000 m² site in
Esenyurt, Istanbul. During this time,
the company produced mercerized
cotton sewing thread and, in 1980,
moved to a 3000 m² workshop in
Bayrampașa to begin producing
nylon sewing threads for the leather
industry.
In 1990, high-tenacity polyester
sewing threads were added to the
product range. With the second
generation joining the management
in 1997, the main goal shifted toward
global markets. In 2003, the company
launched its 17,500 m² factory in
Kıraç, Istanbul, aligned with new
strategic goals. Özen !plik regularly
participates in international fairs and
allocates substantial resources to
R&D.
To ensure human and ecological
product safety, the company obtained
the Oeko-Tex Class I certificate in
2003, and in 2015 received ISO 9001,
14001, and 45001 certifications for
risk management and sustainability.
Since 2007, Özen !plik has continued
investing to increase production
capacity and develop knowledgeintensive
products. Today, it exports
70% of its sewing threads to 75
countries and continues to grow
steadily.”
How does your corporate culture
reflect on employees and
business partners? How do you
strengthen loyalty, motivation,
and sense of belonging within
the company?
“Özen !plik’s corporate culture is built
on trust, transparency, sustainability,
and continuous development. These
values not only shape our internal
communication but also form the
foundation of our relationships with
partners. We consider our employees
not merely task performers, but
essential contributors to our success
story.
28 SleepTech • May - June
We implement various programs
to reinforce loyalty, motivation, and
a sense of belonging. Our open
communication policy provides an
environment where everyone feels
free to express their ideas. Regular
training programs and career
development support ensure the
professional and personal growth of
our team.
Additionally, we strengthen team spirit
through social events and recognition
systems that foster motivation.”
ERP INVESTMENTS ENHANCE
PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY
What steps have you
taken recently in digital
transformation? How have
infrastructure investments like
ERP impacted your production
and management processes?
“As of 2025, we have consolidated
many of our internal software systems
under a single ERP platform. While
the process was challenging at times,
by the end of 2025, this integration
will significantly improve service
speed across production, sales, and
marketing.”
How do you balance manpower
and automation in production?
What qualifications do you
prioritize in your technical
team?
“We use advanced automation
systems for critical processes
such as quality control, winding,
bobbin winding, and sewing thread
tracking. These systems increase
production speed while minimizing
errors. For areas requiring human
expertise—like machine settings,
product development, and flexible
production—our experienced staff
remain essential.
This balance allows us to maintain
high-quality standards while
optimizing costs. Our technical
team undergoes periodic training
in production technologies, quality
standards, and occupational safety.
We prioritize problem-solving,
technical know-how, and teamwork
skills, and work with professionals
who are familiar with R&D and open
to digital innovation.”

Making a big impact with the
smallest springs
Nano Springs is preparing to impress at Interzum 2025 with
its quiet, eco-friendly, and high-performance pocket spring
solutions.
Specializing in pocket spring
production for the furniture
and mattress industries, Nano
Springs holds a strong position in
the international market, particularly
with its small-diameter custom spring
systems. As Nano Springs gears
up for Interzum Cologne 2025, we
spoke with General Manager Serkan
Kır about the company’s digital and
sustainable vision for the future.
90% OF PRODUCTION IS FOR
EXPORT
Could you share the story behind
Nano Springs’s foundation and
walk us through its journey of
growth to date?
“Nano Springs was founded in 2013
with 15 years of prior experience,
aiming to serve the industry and
provide new solutions. The name
‘Nano’ comes from the size of the
springs we initially produced, as
our company was established with
a focus on small-diameter tablet
springs. Over time, we developed
expertise in this area and carved out a
unique niche in the sector.
In the beginning, we started
production with only a few machines.
Over time, our team grew thanks to
Serkan Kır - General Manager
innovative spring varieties and high
service quality. Today, we operate
with 100 personnel and two factories
totaling 4,000 m², exporting to more
than 20 countries, with 90% of our
production going abroad.”
TEAM OF EXPERTS & THE
LATEST TECHNOLOGY MAKE THE
DIFFERENCE
What about the technologies
you use in your production
processes and how they affect
product quality?
“One of the most crucial steps that
determine the durability of springs is
controlled heat treatment. Thanks to
our expert team and state-of-the-art
machinery, Nano Springs provides
springs with the right flexibility
and long lifespan through precise
calibration.
At the end of the production
line, each batch is tested with
measurement devices and tensile
testing machines. This ensures that
every spring is monitored for both
strength and flexibility.
Springs are coiled using computercontrolled
machines, which ensures
each roll maintains identical tension
and width with maximum precision.
This not only guarantees production
consistency but also delivers the
same quality to our customers every
time.”
How do you evaluate customer
demands and market trends in
your new product development
processes?
“At Nano Springs, we don’t just
produce — we also act as solution
partners. That’s why, when developing
new products, we don’t just ask ‘what
should we produce?’, but also ‘for
whom and why are we producing it?’
The world of furniture, mattresses,
and sleep systems is constantly
evolving. We closely follow domestic
and international fairs, sectoral
reports, and innovative brands to
stay ahead of the curve. Trends like
quieter spring systems, body-specific
support structures, and sustainable,
eco-friendly materials require early
adaptation — and we’re aware of
that.
38 SleepTech • May - June
Intuition plays a role in product
development, but we believe that
data should always make the final
decision. Sales figures, customer
satisfaction rates, and return reasons
all determine the destiny of each new
spring model.”
NEW INNOVATIONS READY FOR
THE SPOTLIGHT
Regarding your participation in
Interzum 2025, which will be
held in Cologne from May 20–23,
2025, which products do you
plan to present to visitors?
“In addition to our standard products,
we are excited to showcase several
items added to our portfolio in
recent years, such as the 25 mm
tablet pocket spring — our smallestdiameter
model — as well as our
recyclable pocket spring, felt pocket
spring, and edge-zoned pocket
spring. We also want to highlight the
many advantages of these solutions.”
In line with the fair’s main
theme, “Rethinking Resources:
Circular and Biobased
Solutions,” how do you plan to
approach sustainability and ecofriendly
production?
“At Nano Springs, we don’t just
produce products — we aim to
create value. That’s why we view
the fair’s central theme not only
as a responsibility but also as an
opportunity.
We are minimizing our production
waste. We direct residuals from
materials like steel wire, wrapping
paper, and nonwoven fabric to
recycling facilities.
When we move into our new 10,000
m² facility, which we plan to build
ourselves, sustainability will be a
major consideration in the planning
process. By 2027 at the latest, we
aim to generate 40% of our own
energy with solar panels installed.
At Nano Springs, we believe that
every small step we take toward
sustainability has the potential to
create a major impact across the
industry.”
STRONGER MOVES WITH
SMARTER MACHINES
What are your strategic targets
for the second half of 2025?
Are there any innovations
planned in production capacity,
export markets, or product
development?
“In the second half of 2025, our
aim at Nano Springs is to boost our
production power, expand into new
markets, and strengthen our position
in the industry by increasing product
diversity.
In August, we will introduce our new
‘high compression’ machine, allowing
us to produce pocket springs that
are more cost-effective without
compromising quality — thereby
increasing our overall production
capacity.
I would also like to mention that
earlier this year, we added a new
machine to our production line to
boost our bonnell units output.”
When it comes to eco-friendly
production and sustainability, what
projects or investments are on your
roadmap for 2025 and the future?
“As mentioned earlier, we plan to
install solar panels on 85% of the
roof area of our new factory. With
this system, we aim to meet 40%
of our total energy needs through
our own resources. Any excess
energy produced will be transferred
to the grid, significantly reducing
our carbon emissions. We also plan
to expand and refine our recyclable
pocket spring group with new internal
models.
In logistics, we aim to prioritize
working with logistics partners who
invest in electric transport systems to
help reduce carbon emissions.”

Profile
How do you plan to enhance
your production processes
in terms of digitalization and
automation?
“At Nano Springs, we believe
the heart of production still lies in
craftsmanship. However, to make that
heart beat more efficiently, quickly,
and in a more controlled manner, we
must place digitalization at the center.
We plan to digitize all forms,
inspection sheets, and tracking slips
used in our production process. Once
this transition is complete, we will
save thousands of sheets of paper
each year.
We also want to enhance our current
barcode-based tracking system by
transitioning to QR codes. Although
we haven’t started this yet, we plan
to assign a unique QR code to each
product batch. Through this code,
customers will be able to access the
production date, test results, and
technical specifications of the springs.
This system will especially enhance
transparency and trust in export
markets.”
AN INDUSTRY GROWING
THROUGH COLLABORATION
How do you collaborate
with other companies in the
mattress industry, and how do
these partnerships contribute
to innovation and customer
satisfaction?
“At Nano Springs, we view other
companies in the mattress industry
not as competitors, but as partners
with whom we can foster mutual
growth. With this perspective, we’ve
established various collaborations
with both manufacturers and mattress
brands.
We share a common goal with
other firms in the industry: to satisfy
end-users and enhance production
processes. These partnerships
allow us to develop more efficient
workflows and explore new markets.”
Before we close, is there a
topic you believe will shape the
industry’s future, or a message
you’d like to share with your
ecosystem of collaborators?
“Today, the mattress industry is
no longer just about comfort and
durability. It’s also heavily focused
on environmental responsibility
and technological innovation. In
the coming years, sustainable
production and digitalization will be
the key drivers of the industry. Our
investments in technology won’t just
make production more efficient —
they’ll also allow us to continuously
improve product quality and customer
satisfaction. In short, the future of
the mattress industry will be shaped
by innovation and environmental
awareness. At Nano Springs, we
strive to be a strong role model in this
transformation.”

“Although we started with a modest
production capacity, thanks to
our manufacturing know-how and
our strong sales and marketing
expertise, we have become one
of the most recognized mattress
spring manufacturers in Türkiye
and Europe in just eight years. We
began international visits just months
after our establishment and have
consistently expanded into new
markets, significantly increasing
our brand awareness. In 2019, we
participated in Interzum in Germany,
one of the leading trade fairs in the
industry, marking the beginning of
our regular attendance at major
international exhibitions.”
Could you walk us through
your production capacity and
the technological setup of your
machinery?
“We initially started with two sets of
pocket spring production lines. Today,
we operate in two locations—both
within and outside the Free Trade
Zone—covering a total of 9,000
square meters of indoor space,
primarily serving international markets.
Our product range includes a wide
variety of pocket springs, bonnell
springs, and tablet springs with diverse
technical specifications. Each type of
spring is carefully designed to meet
different comfort expectations and
usage needs, with a strong emphasis
on quality and durability.”
50 SleepTech • May - June
What kind of technologies
do you use in pocket spring
production for the bedding and
furniture industries, and how do
these affect product quality?
“There are no manual machines in our
production line—our entire machinery
setup is fully automated. One of our
key priorities is to stay up to date
with industry demands and trends,
evaluating current and potential
needs. We work in coordination
with globally renowned machinery
manufacturers to continuously
improve and update our production
capabilities.”
COMBINING STRENGTH IN
PRODUCTION WITH A GREEN
VISION
How does your company
approach sustainability and
environmentally friendly
practices in its production
processes?
“For us, manufacturing isn’t just
about delivering high-quality
products; it also means fulfilling our
environmental responsibilities. That’s
why sustainability is at the core of
our production processes. We use
energy-efficient machines, manage
waste with precision, and prioritize
recyclable raw materials. We also
separate metal and plastic waste
generated during production and
send them to appropriate recycling
facilities. With our philosophy of
continuous improvement, we not only
raise
awareness
within our teams
but also invest in new
technologies to minimize
environmental impact. This
approach ensures that we act not just
with today in mind, but with a strong
sense of responsibility for tomorrow
as well.”
THE COMFORT OF THE FUTURE:
INNOVATION ON STAGE AT
INTERZUM 2025
Which products are you
planning to showcase to visitors
during Interzum 2025?
“At Interzum 2025, we aim
to introduce our innovative
spring technologies to industry
professionals. In addition to our
pocket spring, bonnell spring, and
tablet spring product groups, we will
highlight our new ‘Ultra Lightened
Series,’ which successfully balances
comfort and lightness. Thanks to
engineering optimizations in wire
thickness, this series maintains
comfort without reducing the number
of springs, while also lowering overall
product weight. We are thrilled to
offer visitors the chance to experience
our solutions that stand out both
technically
and
ergonomically.”
In line with the main theme of
the fair, ‘Rethinking Resources:
Circular and Biobased
Solutions,’ how do you approach
sustainability?
“Aligned with Interzum 2025’s theme
of ‘Rethinking Resources: Circular
and Biobased Solutions,’ we have
adopted an environmentally friendly
and sustainable production approach.
We ensure that the materials used in
our spring production are recyclable
and we work to minimize waste
during manufacturing. We also use
energy-efficient machinery and take
steps toward using natural resources
more efficiently. We produce our
key raw materials, such as wire and
nonwoven fabric used in pocket spring
production, within our own group
companies. This vertical integration
not only allows us to maintain strict
quality control but also ensures we
uphold environmental standards and
meet customer expectations at every
stage of the production chain. From
raw material procurement to final
product, we follow a system focused
on efficiency, waste management,
and recycling, constantly improving
our resource usage in line with
sustainability principles.”
Are you planning any
new product launches or
technological innovations at
Interzum 2025?
“At Interzum 2025, we plan to present

our sustainability- and efficiencyfocused
innovations to the industry.
As previously mentioned, our new
spring series, which optimizes wire
consumption, not only improves
production efficiency but also
reduces product weight, offering
advantages in transportation and use.
Additionally, reflecting our eco-friendly
approach, we plan to introduce
pocket spring series produced with
biodegradable nonwoven fabric. These
next-generation products reduce
environmental impact and contribute
to the vision of a circular economy.
Interzum 2025 will be a valuable
platform to debut these innovations
and connect with our global
stakeholders.”
STRATEGIES THAT BUILD
TOMORROW, TODAY
What are your strategic goals
for the second half of 2025?
Are there any plans for new
developments in production
capacity, export markets, or
product development?
“According to our marketing plan
finalized at the end of 2024, our main
objective is to expand our sales and
marketing team to establish a stronger
presence in international markets.
This will help us strengthen our
relationships with current customers
in countries where we already export,
while also forming new customer
connections.
Additionally, in product development,
we will continue to offer eco-friendly
and efficient solutions. We aim to
enhance both quality and sustainability
by focusing on lightweight spring
systems and the use of recyclable
materials.”
Can you share any projects
or investments you plan to
undertake in 2025 and beyond
related to sustainability and
environmentally friendly
production?
“From 2025 onward, our top
priorities include increasing the use
of recyclable raw materials in our
production processes and investing
in energy-efficient technologies to
reduce our carbon footprint.
In line with the European
Union’s Carbon Border
Adjustment Mechanism
(CBAM), we plan to align
our production for international
markets with eco-friendly standards
and develop compliant solutions.
We also aim to expand the use of
environmentally friendly materials, such
as biodegradable nonwoven fabrics.”
How do you plan to improve
your production processes
in terms of digitalization and
automation?
“We are continuously enhancing our
ERP system. Our goal is to automate
and monitor the entire process—from
order placement to product delivery—
without human intervention. This will
increase speed and transparency
while minimizing errors, allowing us to
maintain the high-quality service and
reliability that our customers expect.”
Can you tell us about your
collaborations with other
companies in the bedding
industry? How do these
partnerships impact product
development and customer
satisfaction?
“We collaborate closely with
companies in both domestic and
international markets that require
custom-made products. We carefully
evaluate their technical demands
and supply the most suitable spring
systems with a proactive approach.
Thanks
to these
partnerships, we
can
offer tailored solutions, act
flexibly and target-oriented in product
development processes, and ultimately
maximize customer satisfaction.”
STRONG STEPS IN A CHANGING
WORLD AND HOPEFUL
TOMORROWS
Finally, is there any issue
you believe is particularly
important for the future of the
industry that you would like
to emphasize? Do you have a
message for your industry peers,
partners, or customers?
“Geopolitical tensions, wars, and newly
announced additional tariffs—such as
those from the United States—have
made the foundation of international
trade more unstable than ever. In this
environment of uncertainty, we monitor
even the smallest developments
and position ourselves flexibly and
proactively to remain resilient and
achieve sustainable growth. While the
global outlook may present challenges,
we continue to look to the future with
optimism and move forward with
strong steps alongside our business
partners.”

Carrying 20 years of quality
expertise to Interzum 2025
Feltturc is preparing to celebrate its 20th anniversary at Interzum
2025 with its eco-friendly approach and established quality
products.
Feltturc specializes in the
production of felts and padding
materials for the bedding
industry, adopting recycling and
environmental awareness as core
principles. Since its foundation,
the company has stood out in
the sector with its commitment to
quality products, fast service, and
competitive pricing. We had the
opportunity to speak with FELTTURC
partner Mustafa Kiper about their
roadmap for Interzum 2025 and the
company’s broader strategic goals.
BUILT TO LAST: A PHILOSOPHY
ROOTED IN QUALITY
Could you briefly share the
founding story and sectoral
development process of Feltturc?
“As the Feltturc team, we have more
than twenty years of experience in the
industry. We were established to meet
the demands for quality products,
fast service, and affordable prices,
and today, we are one of the largest
manufacturers in our sector in the
world.”
You are known for your expertise
in felt and padding materials
production for the bedding
industry. What about your
production processes and quality
standards?
“We focus on producing highquality
products. Our priority is to
manufacture high-quality items.
Our quality process begins when
purchasing raw materials. Since we
use recycled raw materials for felt and
padding production, we believe that
the raw material must be of excellent
quality. We direct good raw materials
carefully into our production process.
At Feltturc, we approach every project
with precision and tailor-made care.”
What advantages do your products,
such as hard felt, soft felt, natural
cotton pads, and natural wool pads,
offer to mattress manufacturers?
“One of the most important
components of high-quality mattress
production is felt and padding. The
quality of the felt and padding directly
affects the quality of the mattress.
Mattresses produced with highquality
felt and padding can easily be
guaranteed for 10 years.”
How do you customize your
products to meet customerspecific
needs in line with
your commitment to customer
satisfaction?
“As I mentioned above, each
customer is special to us, and
we produce exclusively for each
one. Even companies producing
mattresses in the same dimensions
manufacture different concepts,
so the felts and paddings they use
differ. Felt, along with springs, forms
the skeleton of the mattress. If the
skeleton of your mattress is strong,
other materials you use will adapt
accordingly, offering a unique sleep
experience.”
FROM TRADITION TO TOMORROW:

valued customers and business
partners. At this fair, we will continue
to present our traditionally high-quality
products to our customers.”
In line with the fair’s main
theme of ‘Rethinking Resources:
Circular and Biobased Solutions’,

‘RETHINKING, RECYCLING, and
REUSING’. Moreover, we go one
step further by offering UPCYCLING
products that are respectful and
sensitive to the environment.”
Will you be introducing any
new products or technological

we believe 2025 will be a very
exciting and busy year for us. We
are very happy to serve our existing
customers, business partners, and
prestigious firms in the domestic
and international markets with our
high-quality and innovative product
portfolio.”
As a company exporting to more
than 50 countries, what are your
goals for expanding into new
markets or growing in existing
ones?
“Within our basic principles, we
consider each of our customers
as valuable business partners. Our
priority is the satisfaction of our
current customers. In order to offer
our experience to new customers and
business partners, we are in constant
search. We are evaluating West Africa
as a new market. Therefore, our
market research and travels focused
on West Africa have intensified and
will continue.”

with other companies in the
mattress industry? How do these
collaborations impact product
development and customer

other partners of Poli Sünger A.Ș.,
where we will produce foam, are also
esteemed companies in the mattress
sector.”
Are you involved in activities
such as association
memberships or sectoral events
to stay updated on developments
and innovations in the industry?
“As Feltturc, we are founding
members of IBIA Association, which
provides valuable contributions to
our industry. Additionally, I personally
represent our company on the Board
of Directors of IBIA Association,
where we share our experiences
for the benefit of our valuable
association.”
Finally, is there a topic you would
particularly like to emphasize
regarding the future of the sector,
or would you like to share a
message with your business
partners or customers?
“We believe that 2025 will be a
challenging year. Our company is
working intensively to turn this period
into an opportunity and to contribute
to its growth.”

Pushing the envelope while
expanding to new horizons
Poised to make waves at Interzum Cologne 2025, Sinova Bedding
continues to strengthen its presence with cutting-edge motion
solutions for Europe’s top mattress brands.
Based in Sinop, Sinop Çelik
Sanayi has been a recognized
name in metal manufacturing
since 1974. The company, which
introduced the ‘Sinova’ brand in 2006,
entered motion bed production in
2014 and restructured its identity as
‘Sinova Bedding’. Operating in a 4,000
m² closed production space today,
the company exports to 19 European
countries. Ahead of Interzum Cologne
2025, we had an insightful conversation
with Cihan Çelik, General Manager of
Sinova Bedding, Sinop Çelik San. Mad.
Eșya ve Mob. San. Tic. Ltd. Ști. about
their goals and fair preparations.
THE ROAD FROM HUMBLE
BEGINNINGS TO INDUSTRIAL
SUCCESS
Your company was founded
in 1974 in Sinop. Could you
briefly walk us through the
transformation and development
of Sinop Çelik since then?
“Certainly. Our company was founded
in 1974 by our late father, Celal Çelik,
who began production in a small
workshop making tables and chairs.
At that time, manufacturing was fully
manual and labor-intensive, with no
laser machines or robotics.
Thanks to
our father’s
discipline
and
foresight,
along
with
his
Cihan Çelik - General Manager
ability to generate practical solutions,
we quickly established a productive
workflow. In 2000, we built our first
international connections, and by
2002, we were exporting. Today,
we’ve become a company with 4,000
m² of production space, exporting to
19 European countries. Over time,
we modernized our facility with laser
machines and robot-assisted systems.
Now, we are not just a manufacturer
but an innovative brand in our industry.”
A BRAND GROWING WITH
VALUES AT ITS CORE
What core values have guided
your company in the industry
since its founding?
“From the very beginning, we’ve
operated with national values at the
heart of our business model. Our
goal is not only to generate foreign
exchange for Türkiye and contribute
to employment,
but also
to
represent our country on the global
stage. We produce with a sense
of social responsibility, focusing on
sustainable materials and environmental
awareness. We’ve embraced a valuedriven
manufacturing philosophy while
growing together with our team.”
How did the Sinova Bedding
brand emerge, and what product
groups do you focus on under
this brand?
“We registered the Sinova brand in
2006, inspired by the name of our
hometown, Sinop. With this name,
we aimed to evolve from a local
player into a global actor. In 2014, we
entered the mattress industry, focusing
on motion bed systems. In 2023,
we officially registered the brand as
Sinova Bedding. Under this brand, we
offer a broad product range including
motorized bed mechanisms, telescopic
systems, headboard connectors, table
legs, and various metal furniture parts.
All of our products are tailored for both
boutique and mass production needs.”
A TRUSTED NAME ACROSS
EUROPE
What are your standout products
and solutions in the field of
motion bed components and
metal furniture parts?
“We collaborate with many major
European mattress brands. We
design custom solutions for clients.
For instance, our Sinova Special 100,
200, and 300 series stand out for their
compatibility with different bed types,
durability, and ease of assembly. Our
telescopic mechanisms and Eco Flat
BR systems offer both user-friendly
64 SleepTech • May - June
functionality and robust technical
performance. Our R&D team actively
develops and customizes products
based on client demands. As a result,
Sinova Bedding has become a trusted
and preferred brand in Europe.”
How do you ensure efficiency
and quality throughout your R&D
and production processes?
“To us, quality is not just a process—it’s
a culture. We implement quality control
at every stage of production. We
manufacture in compliance with ISO
standards and apply measuring and
analysis systems from product design
to final delivery. Most of our machines
are CNC-supported, which enables
high-precision manufacturing. We’re
also running energy efficiency projects
to make our production lines more
environmentally friendly.”
How would you position your
operations in domestic and
international markets?
“During the
pandemic, we
focused more on
the domestic
market. But in
the last two
years,
exports have gained momentum
again. We have long-term partnerships
in Germany, France, Belgium, and the
Netherlands. Currently, we’re focused
on the European market, but our
strategic goal includes expanding to
the US and Middle Eastern markets.
We expect 2024 and 2025 to be years
of export-driven growth.”
BRINGING BREAKTHROUGH
DESIGNS TO INTERZUM 2025
What innovations do you plan to
showcase at Interzum Cologne
2025?
“We began preparing for Interzum
2025 well in advance. This year, we’ll
showcase our new-generation modular
and user-friendly bed motion systems.
We’ll also debut our newly developed
telescopic table leg mechanisms. Our
booth will include demo areas where
visitors can experience our products
firsthand.”
FORGING GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
AT INTERZUM AND BEYOND
What partnership or export
opportunities are
you targeting at
Interzum?
“We see huge
potential in the U.S.
market. Favorable
tax
policies for
European-origin products provide a
great opportunity for us. We’re also
planning distributor-based partnerships
in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and
the UK. During the fair, we aim to
attract new customers and deepen
collaborations with existing partners.”
What are your general
expectations for the industry
and your company in the second
half of 2025 following
Interzum?
“We expect to see
a recovery in the
industry after Interzum.
In the second half
of 2025, we believe there will be a
significant increase in business volume
across European manufacturers. We
are adjusting our production plans
accordingly and also enhancing
our export logistics through digital
transformation.”
EACH PRODUCT IS POWERED BY
A TEAM SPIRIT
Is there anything else you’d like
to add that we haven’t covered?
“Absolutely. While we’ve talked a lot
about our products and goals, I must
emphasize that none of this would be
possible without teamwork. The reason
Sinova Bedding has gained recognition
across Europe lies in the dedication,
faith, and shared success culture of our
amazing team.”

From dark factories to global
takeovers: ELEKTROTEKS is
forging the future of the industry
With two massive booths
covering 1,150 square
meters at Interzum
Cologne 2025, Elektroteks and
Mammut are once again stepping
up to drive the industry forward.
Dark factory target in robotic
technologies
Founded in Bursa in 1990 to
provide electrical and electronic
service solutions, Elektroteks
has now become a company
that exports its machinery to
nearly 140 countries from its
factories located in Kayapa
Organized Industrial Zone and
Görükle Industrial Area. Osman
Güler, Chairman of the Board
of Elektroteks, stated that the
company’s integration of robotic
systems into mattress production
processes has allowed them to
stand one step ahead of their
competitors by maintaining a
production approach that never
compromises on quality. “We
manufacture using the highest
quality raw materials in the world.
R&D is an indispensable part of
our work. With our team of 60
R&D specialists, we develop 7
to 8 new projects every month,”
said Güler. He emphasized
that they have been working
for years to integrate robotic
technologies into mattress and
foam production systems, and
that their goal is to achieve full
automation by establishing dark
factories worldwide.
A 350-person team and
production across three
continents
Elektroteks, which builds Industry
4.0-level factories for mattress
and foam production, is the
world’s largest manufacturer of
mattress production machinery
and lines, and ranks among the
pioneering companies globally in
foam production lines. Thanks to
the technological innovations it
has implemented, the company
has become a brand that shapes
the industry.
Osman Güler stated that they
have adopted a customerfocused
production approach:
82 SleepTech • May - June
“We turn our customers’
dreams into reality. We develop
special machines based on their
requests.”
Güler continued: “At our facilities
in Bursa, we continue our
production with a team of over
350 experts. In addition, we
provide services on a global scale
through our facilities in different
parts of the world. With our
plant in the state of Virginia in
the United States, we serve the
American market; with our facility
in Bulgaria, we serve Europe; and
with our plant in India, we provide
services to that region.”
Global strength reinforced by the
Mammut acquisition
Last year, Elektroteks acquired
Mammut, a Germany-based
company with a 152-year history,
known as one of the world’s
top manufacturers of quilting
machines.
Chairman Osman Güler
emphasized that by acquiring
Mammut, they have strengthened
their position in the global
market and that the brand is
recognized as one of the most
well-established companies in
the sector for industrial sewing
(quilting) machines.
Güler noted that Elektroteks
produces 80% of the machine
types used in mattress production
and said: “In order to complete
our machine range and further
increase our strength, we
decided to acquire one of the
most reputable brands in the
market. After nearly two years of
negotiations, we acquired 100%
of the shares of the Mammut
brand. At the first exhibition we
participated in together, we rapidly
increased the company’s sales
performance, and by reducing
profit margins and making the
machines more accessible, we
managed to sell in 2–3 days what
they used to sell in an entire year.”
Highlighting that major investment
opportunities often arise abroad
during times of crisis, Güler said:
“Bringing a brand like Mammut to
Türkiye is an honor. It will provide
significant contributions to our
economy.”
Two stands, one vision at
Interzum 2025
“As Elektroteks and Mammut, we
strive to participate in all trade
fairs related to our industry around
the world, especially Interzum
Cologne 2025. The Interzum
Cologne fair holds particular
importance for us as it is the
largest fair in our sector. With
two separate stands, a team of
approximately 45 people, and a
total area of 1,150 square meters,
we will showcase the latest hightech
machines for the mattress
and foam industries under the
Elektroteks brand, and the
exciting new versions of quilting
machines under the Mammut
brand.”

WHERE QUALITY, INNOVATION
AND TECHNOLOGY GO HAND IN
HAND
What role do quality control and
R&D play in your production
processes?
“At Form Sünger, we place quality
and continuous improvement
at the center of our production
processes. For us, quality control is
not just a final step but a systematic
process integrated into every stage
of production. In our advanced
laboratories, physical, chemical,
and performance tests are regularly
conducted, and our products’
compliance with all technical criteria
is meticulously inspected.
Our Quality Test Laboratory, which
is certified by the Turkish Standards
Institution (TSE) and operates under
TS EN ISO IEC 1702 standards, also
serves external clients.
In addition, our R&D activities play
a key role in both raising quality
standards and offering innovative
products to the industry. By
analyzing the demands coming
from different sectors, our R&D
department develops foam solutions
that are more durable, more
comfortable, more eco-friendly, and
offer higher technical performance.
Moreover, by integrating
digitalization
into our
production and quality processes,
we gain significant advantages in
traceability, rapid intervention, and
continuous improvement. At Form
Sünger, we believe that quality is
not a coincidence, but the result
of a systematic approach and an
innovative vision.”
FROM OUTER SPACE TO YOUR
VISCOPILLOW
Could you tell us about your
high-density Form Pillows
produced using NASA-developed
viscoelastic material?
“Viscoelastic (Visco) materials
developed with NASA technology
were initially used to reduce pressure
on astronauts; today, they have
become a solution that represents the
pinnacle of comfort and ergonomics.
At Form Sünger, the pillows we
produce from this advanced material
in different sizes, shapes, and weights
provide ideal support for neck and
spinal health due to their bodyresponsive
structure. They conform
to the user’s head and neck, offering
personalized comfort. Thanks to
the increased density of the visco
material, the pillows can be used for
a long time without losing their shape.
They are also highly resistant to
classic pillow problems
such as sweating,
pressure,
and
deformation. Our visco pillows meet
both the comfort expectations in the
bedding sector and the orthopedic
support needs in the medical field.”

bring our innovative products and
technologies — a result of our R&D
work — to the global market. In

containing copper gel and bamboo,
as well as eco-friendly foam varieties.
Throughout the fair, alongside these
products focused on sustainability
and high performance, we will also
be introducing our technical foams
designed to meet the needs of
different sectors. We believe these
innovations, developed by accurately
interpreting global trends and
customer expectations, will leave a
strong impression on our visitors.”
In line with the fair’s main
theme ‘Rethinking Resources:
Circular and Biobased
Solutions,’ how do you plan
to approach sustainability
and environmentally friendly
production?
“For us, the main theme of Interzum
2025 — ‘Rethinking Resources:
Circular and Biobased Solutions’ —
is not merely a concept, but a vital
call for transformation that will shape
the future. At Form Sünger, we have
taken this call seriously for a long
time and are constantly developing
our sustainability-oriented production
philosophy.
We carry out systematic efforts to
reduce waste in our production
processes, increase energy efficiency,
and use recyclable raw materials.
Within this scope, we are developing
foam products with specially
formulated materials that minimize
environmental impact and increasing
our use of recycled raw materials
every year.
We also adopt a design philosophy
that extends product life and prevents
material waste. With our long-lasting,
durable, and eco-friendly foam
solutions, we aim to contribute to the
vision of a circular economy.
At Interzum 2025, we aim to present
not only our products, but also the
responsibility we bear toward nature
and future generations. As a company
that believes sustainability is not only
a production principle, but also a
corporate culture and strategic vision,
we aim to strengthen our leadership
role in this area.”
BOLD AMBITIONS IN THE GLOBAL
ARENA
What are your strategic goals
for the second half of 2025? Are
there any innovations you are
planning in production capacity,
export markets, or product
development?
“Our strategic goals for the second
half of 2025 are shaped around
three core focuses: increasing our
production capacity, diversifying our
export markets, and accelerating the
development of high value-added
products.
On the production side, we are
continuing our investments in
capacity planning and automation to
meet both local and global demand.
Increasing efficiency and shortening
delivery times are among our
priorities.
On the export side, while maintaining
a strong presence in over 60
countries, we aim to expand into
new markets such as the Americas
and the Far East. We are actively
holding discussions with potential
business partners in these regions
and developing solutions tailored to
local market dynamics. In the area
of product development, we plan
to expand our foam solutions that
combine comfort, durability, and
sustainability. We are also continuing
86 SleepTech • May - June
our R&D efforts to increase the use of
environmentally friendly raw materials
and reduce our carbon footprint.
With the responsibility of being a
reliable global business partner, we
continue to add value to our industry.”
Could you share your projects
or investments focused on
sustainability and eco-friendly
production for 2025 and beyond?
“At Form Sünger, we see sustainability
not only as an environmental
responsibility but also as one of
the cornerstones of our long-term
growth strategy. In line with this
vision, we have planned and partially
implemented important investments
to make both our production
processes and our energy usage
habits more environmentally friendly
before and after 2025.
In addition to our rooftop solar power
plant (SPP) projects implemented in
previous years, with our new groundmounted
SPP investment set to be
operational by the end of summer
2025, we aim to significantly reduce
our carbon footprint and decrease
energy dependency.”
Could you tell us about your
collaborations with other
companies in the bedding
industry? What is the impact of
these partnerships on product
development and customer
satisfaction?
“At Form Sünger, we maintain longterm
and strategic collaborations
with leading brands in the bedding
industry. These collaborations
go beyond the classic suppliercustomer
relationship and include
joint efforts in areas such as R&D,
product development, and comfort
innovations. By closely following
customer needs, we co-develop
special foam solutions and ensure
that the products make a difference
in both performance and user
experience. This customer-focused
approach, centered on satisfaction,
allows us to produce more accurate
and innovative products through

the unique values of each of our
customers’ brands and develop
products that support the emotional
bond they establish with the end
consumer.
Our customer-oriented production
philosophy enables us to quickly
integrate market feedback into our
R&D processes. Thus, we are able

information about
the projects or
investments you plan
to implement in 2025

sleep industry has shifted from being
product-oriented to offering solutions
that directly affect quality of life. We are
proud to be part of this transformation.
The future of the sector is evolving
into a structure where innovation is

experience is central. At this point,
we believe that companies should not
only be producers but also solution
partners and brands that enhance
quality of life.
Our biggest message to our partners
and customers is this: We want
to design not only today but also
tomorrow, together. With our approach
based on mutual trust, transparency,
and creating shared value, we will
continue to make a difference in
our sector and build long-term
relationships.
On this occasion, we thank all our
