Lake Braies and the Three Peaks. Seven nature parks protect the region’s diverse flora and
fauna, while 13 impressive mountain ranges with their striking rock formations stretch across
the landscape, captivating both - hikers and climbers. In this unique environment, next to
alpenrose and edelweiss, more than 6,550 species of animals and plants, have their home.
Outdoor enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. With around 400 mountain lakes, 1,700
alpine huts, and countless peaks, South Tyrol invites visitors to embark on journeys of
discovery. Whether on a leisurely alpine hike, a challenging mountain tour, or an exciting bike
ride through the picturesque scenery – there is something for everyone. More than 16,000
