Abel Beyene – Ethiopia
Abel Beyene (born 1995, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia) is an interdisciplinary visual
artist who explores the relationship between shifting identities and global issues
through his acrylic paintings, collages, oil paintings, digital art and photography.
Beyene studied art at Abyssinia Fine Arts & Vocational Training Centre and at
the Teferi Mekonen School between the years of 2015-2018.
Abel Beyene
Beyene investigates themes of history, diversity, knowledge and migration,
addressing the complexities of the human experience in an ever-changing
world. His work has been showcased in various art exhibitions, and he has
actively participated in workshops and volunteer services.
Drawing from his Ethiopian heritage and the rich cultural tapestry of Addis
Ababa, Beyene’s art serves as a medium for social commentary and a catalyst for
dialogue. Through his multidisciplinary approach, he challenges conventional
notions of identity and belonging, inviting viewers to reflect on the
interconnectedness of individuals and the global community.
As an emerging artist, Abel Beyene continues to refine his artistic language and
push the boundaries of his chosen medium, contributing to the contemporary
art discourse in Ethiopia and beyond.

Ange Akomezoa - Cameroon
Ange Akomezoa (born 1998) is a self-taught hyperrealist artist based in
Yaoundé, Cameroon. His artistic journey began in primary school, where his
passion for drawing took root and blossomed over the years.

and meticulously crafted works of art. His choice of medium, often

Arobieke Tomiwa – Nigeria
Tomiwa Arobieke is a visual artist known for the captivating and evocative
creations. Born in 1999, in Ogun State, Nigeria. He lives and works in the
city of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Arobieke Tomiwa
He studied Science Laboratory Technology in the Institution of The
Polytechnic, Ibadan. Tomiwa discovered his passion for art at an early age,
and embarked on a journey that would establish him as a prominent figure
in the Nigerian art scene. He honed his skills by a professional artist
named Daniel Emmanuel. The mentorship combined with his innate
talent, laid the groundwork for a prolific career in the art world.
Tomiwa’s works have been exhibited in numerous galleries, in Nigeria and
around the world and has found its way into the private collections and art
enthusiasts worldwide.
Tomiwa’s art explores the themes of building human relationships and
expression of feelings and emotions, offering his viewers a window into
the emotional journey of himself and his subjects. His art is a captivating
narrative of his personal journey and a reflection of the world as he sees
it.

Chinezim Moghalu – Nigeria
Chinezim Moghalu is a contemporary artist born in Awka, Anambra State,
Nigeria. His work explores the complexities of human existence, touching
on themes of relationships, class, religious inclinations, gender dynamics,
and the layered realities of daily life.
Chinezim Moghalu
Moghalu describes his creative process as akin to composing music—
spontaneous, intuitive, and eclectic. His figures and subjects are
suggestive, evocative, and self-referential, inviting contemplation and
dialogue. His palette often merges somber hues with carefully chosen
vibrant tones, creating a striking interplay of mood and energy.
Central to his practice is a moment of pause and reflection, a crucial
phase of reconsideration and analysis that can shift his creative direction
or even lead to the complete erasure of a piece. His meticulous attention
to detail and instinctive approach allow for an organic evolution of his
work.
His style blends elements of expressionism, minimalism, and
conceptualism, often blurring the line between the identifiable and the
abstract. He embraces uncertainty, allowing color to dictate meaning and
form, while his semi-abstract, often paired figures remain open to
interpretation.
His work has been exhibited and collected in Lagos, New Jersey, Senegal,
Paris, Johannesburg, the United States, and Italy.

"Corporate Ambassadors" looks at how people
from different psychological backgrounds often
start off pretending when they’re put in the
same space. Their reactions, behaviour, and
how they relate to each other are, at first,
shaped by surface-level interactions like they're
performing a role. It’s a strange but familiar
dynamic. Over time though, that pretence
starts to wear off, and something more real
begins to show through.

Reps. of House is a portrayal of representatives
of houses, as regards my clime. Heads of
families. When they converge, it’s basically to
reflect, discuss, and share especially family
affairs; which is occasionally in relation to family
ties.

Rolls Roys

"Rolls Roys" is based on two people I came across, both
named Roy, who looked almost identical but came from
very different cultural and psychological backgrounds. They
connected and tried to build something lasting, but their
differences made it hard for things to really move forward
smoothly.
With this piece, I wanted to explore how these two
Roys could find a way to “roll” together, how people from
different worlds might still find common ground through
personal connection. In the work, I’ve included a third,
symbolic leg, kind of a visual metaphor, representing a Roy
that can roll, or maybe one that should. It’s my way of
suggesting that through genuine person-to-person
interaction, even the most unlikely connections can find
their rhythm.

“Sisterhood: Margaret & I”

"Sisterhood: Margaret and I" is a piece that explores the
bond between two sisters an older and a younger one. It
reflects the warmth, love, and closeness they share. The
younger sister, Margaret, looks up to her older sister and
tries to follow her way of life. While this connection
helps Margaret grow, it also brings a risk. As the African
saying goes, "when a mother goat chews its cud, its kid
watches and learns," Margaret might copy paths that
aren’t right for her, showing how influence can be both
inspiring and misleading.

"Suppressed Couple" captures what I refer to as the
“die-die syndrome”—a phenomenon common among
struggling couples in my environment. Despite the
harsh economic realities, it’s not unusual for a
struggling bachelor to go ahead and marry a struggling
maiden. In doing so, the union often becomes a space
of quiet suppression, shaped by the weight of their
individual and shared economic struggles.

Damilola Joy Olusegun (born 1997, Ogun State, Nigeria) is an artist
captivated by the intricate beauty of flowers and the expansive majesty of
seascapes, landscapes, and open skies. Her art serves as a celebration of
the natural world, highlighting both the smallest details and the grandest
vistas.

Through her work, Damilola delves into the complexities and wonders of

Damilola's work has gained international attention and is held in private
collections around the globe. In 2019, she was honoured with the Best
Young Visual Artist of the Year award by the Everyday Chapter, a testament

David Awoleye
David Awoleye – Nigeria
David Awoleye (b. 1996) is a Lagos-based artist redefining mixedmedia
expression. Originally from Ekiti State, Nigeria, he holds a BA
in Creative Arts (Visual Art) with a focus on Sculpture from the
University of Lagos and sharpened his craft at the Universal Studio
of Art in Lagos.
Awoleye’s work is a bold fusion of textures and materials, Ankara
fabric, shoelaces, textile liners, and beads, woven into vibrant
narratives of culture and identity. His passion for experimental art
began in middle school, evolving into a signature style that
challenges conventions.
Now a full-time studio artist, Awoleye finds inspiration in solitude,
with music as his creative fuel.

John Ali – Nigeria
John Ali, born on February 11th, 1992, in the vibrant city of Lafia,
Nasarawa State, Nigeria infuses his captivating artworks with the
essence of his culturally rich and diverse hometown. From a young
age, John's palpable passion for colours and forms echoed the
vibrant energy of Lafia's cultural tapestry.

As he grew up in Lafia, John's artistic journey began to take shape
within the local primary and secondary schools, where his innate
talent for visual arts flourished. Continuing his pursuit of artistic
excellence, John further honed his skills at the Federal University of
Lafia, immersing himself in the study and practice of painting.
His university years not only polished his technical abilities but also
deepened his understanding of the human form and its expressive
potential. Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Visual and
Creative Art, specializing in painting, John emerged as a skilled and

Today, John Ali is a devoted full-time studio artist, with his creative

Liveth Ashiagbor
Liveth Ashiagbor – Ghana
Liveth Ashiagbor is a self-taught hyper-realistic artist from Accra, Ghana,
He discovered his passion for art during his high school years where he
studied Visual Arts. Although he wasn't able to pursue higher education in
the field, Liveth's artistic journey took off in 2017, driven by a deep-seated
connection to drawings that dates back to his childhood.
For Liveth, art is a medium for expressing his thoughts and emotions to
society, and this personal connection influences his creations. Despite not
having formal training beyond high school, Liveth's artistic prowess has
blossomed through dedication and self-guided exploration.
Since the inception of his art career, Liveth has set ambitious goals for
himself. His primary aim is to carve a successful path in the realm of
hyper-realistic art. Beyond personal success, he aspires to be a beacon of
inspiration for aspiring artists in Ghana. Liveth is committed to supporting

"DUAFE", is a traditional symbol originally from Ghana,
which literally means "wooden comb". The symbol
represents femininity, beauty, patience, prudence care
fondness, love and cleanliness of an African woman. This
piece was made to inspire and motivate every black
woman especially in the diaspora who feels insecure about
themselves for being racially bullied sometimes to learn to
embrace themselves with pride as an African woman and
to portray the significance of the symbol with honour.

Maduka Onyebuchi – Nigeria
Maduka Onyebuchi
Maduka Emmanuel Onyebuchi (b. 1997) is a visual artist living and
working in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. His passion as a
ballpoint pen artist comes from a lifelong obsession with creativity.
From a tender age, Maduka has always tried to manipulate objects
and materials in order to bring up something creative and artistic,
then he finally chose the ballpoint pen as his medium of art which
he claims to be another means of writing stories.
As a self-thought artist, he has been drawing since he was nine,
Maduka released his first hyperrealism masterpiece in 2020
titled “Behind The Veil” which illustrates a political issue of human
rights and freedom for women, the first series of “Behind The Veil”
was sold to a collector in New York.

In life, many claim to help but offer little genuine assistance,
showing fake care and love through superficial gestures and
empty promises. This dissonance between words and actions
can be disheartening, revealing a reality where true support is
rare. Some derive satisfaction from appearing helpful without
real effort, while others fear the commitment genuine aid
requires. This highlights the need for self-reliance and
resilience, as true progress often results from personal
struggle and determination. Recognizing the limitations of
others support fosters independence and ensures focus on
one's path to success.

Gifted explores the theme of innate talents and the fears that
often accompany them, linking to the broader narrative of my
project, *The Art of Becoming*. Talents are unique gifts that set
individuals apart, but many people struggle with fear and selfdoubt,
preventing them from fully embracing their potential. This
fear can transform what should be a blessing into a source of
anxiety.
The pressure to live up to expectations, whether from others or
oneself, often results in hesitation. Like in *The Art of Becoming*,
where internal struggles shape one's journey, *Gifted* highlights
how fear of failure or judgment can cause individuals to see their
talents as burdens. This inner conflict stifles growth, keeping
people from stepping into their true selves.
Ultimately, both works emphasize transformation. Overcoming
these fears requires courage and a shift in perspective. In
*Gifted*, talents are seen not as obligations but as opportunities
for personal growth and self-expression, mirroring the process of
becoming one's best self in my larger project.
