THE AVENTADOR LP700-4 PIRELLI SPECIAL EDITION

The co-operation between Lamborghini and Pirelli dates back to the year, when Ferruccio Lamborghini

turned to Pirelli to supply the tyres for the first car of his newly established automotive company: the

350 GTV. Since then all Lamborghini cars have been equipped with Pirelli tyres. Today, more than

50 years later, Lamborghini announces production of an exclusive new special series, the Aventador

LP700-4 Pirelli Special Edition, created to celebrate the long and on-going history of co-operation

with prestigious Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli.

The new Aventador Pirelli Special Edition, available in Coupé and Roadster versions, is produced in a

special series and is available to order now from dealers, for delivery early summer 2015. The supersport

car maintains all its unique technical features, first and foremost the carbon fibre monocoque, the V12

engine, pushrod suspension and the permanent all-wheel drive, which underlie the Aventador’s global

success. The special Pirelli series is enhanced by exclusive equipment specifically designed by the

Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Distinctive features of the body are a thin red

stripe that runs along the roof and the

engine hood, the rear-view mirrors and

the outer profiles of the air intakes, a

stylistic element designed to evoke

the unmistakable Pirelli branding.

A Pirelli logo, once again in red,

is visible at the start of the

two roof lines as well as on

the tyres. A plaque reading

“Pirelli special series” is

also fitted inside each

car to underline the

exclusiveness of the

series.

The process of achieving a homologation is a complex one and can take up to three years to complete.

Pirelli’s research team works directly with Lamborghini’s engineers during the development of a new

vehicle to create a tyre that provides the perfect balance between safety in wet conditions, handling,

comfort and performance over the entire life-cycle of the tyre.

This development includes countless indoor and outdoor activities

in a number of areas such as high speed, integrity,

wet and dry handling, aquaplaning, rolling

resistance and winter performance.

Once all of the requirements from

Lamborghini’s target letter are

achieved the tyre is officially

homologated, marked with

an “L” and then put into

mass production.

Original Equipment tyres homologated by Lamborghini, recognized through the specific marking

“L” on the sidewall, are the result of a strong collaboration of technological development between

Lamborghini and Pirelli. These tyres are the perfect match for the car model for which they have been

developed for.

P ZERO

THE ART OF HANDLING.

A milestone in the development of the Pirelli range,

P ZERO has been chosen as original equipment for the

most performance oriented and powerful models on

the market. P ZERO sizes that feature the “L” marking

are those that have been developed together with

Lamborghini’s engineers to ensure the optimum

balance in all sporty conditions providing massive

grip on both wet and dry asphalt and fantastic and

very rewarding driving feel also in normal road driving.

Its asymmetric tread pattern improves braking

performance and enhances handling and control. The

P ZERO is excellent in wet conditions and provides

improved safety in potential aquaplaning situations.

P ZERO CORSA SYSTEM

THE TYRE WITH THE RACING SOUL.

P ZERO CORSA is the most sporting tyre in the road

car range and has been developed in association with

leading vehicle manufacturers in the high performance

sector. For use on both road and track, the P ZERO

CORSA SYSTEM concept combines directional (front

axle fitment) and asymmetric (rear axle fitment or allround

application) tread designs to enhance not only

performance, but also styling. “L” marked P ZERO

CORSA sizes have been developed by Pirelli together

with Lamborghini for both road and track use on models

derived directly from their motorsport counterparts.

The solid asymmetric tread pattern design guarantees

a wide and stable contact area and the specialized tyre

structure with an innovative “racing” tread compound

ensures direct sporty feel and massive grip for maximum

traction and braking levels.

WINTER SOTTOZERO SERIE II

EXCELLENT DRIVING SAFETY IN ALL ROAD CONDITIONS DURING THE COLD WEATHER SEASON.

For demanding drivers the Winter SOTTOZERO SERIE II

guarantees excellent performance on dry roads, in

the wet and in the presence of snow. In temperatures

below 7°C it counters aquaplaning more effectively

when compared to a summer tyre.

This product provides balanced sporty performance,

very good braking and traction in every winter condition.

The asymmetric tread pattern is divided into two

distinct elements; the inner area effectively expels

water whilst the external area, with its more rigid and

spaced blocks, ensures high levels of grip on snow.

TECHNICAL ADVICES

• Inflation pressures should be checked when the tyres are cold, at intervals no

greater than two weeks.

• Check the tyres frequently for wear and any signs of damage such as cuts, chafing,

bulges, etc. If in doubt consult an expert regarding serviceability.

• Tyre fitting and removal must be entrusted to a specialist.

• When fitting wheels to the car, always use the recommended torque settings.

• During long periods of inactivity, either remove the wheels or jack the weight off

the tyres. Alternatively set the pressure to 3.0 bar and frequently move the vehicle

or rotate the wheels slightly to minimize localized parking deformation. Don’t

forget to reset the correct operating pressure before using the vehicle again.

• Infrequently used or even unused tyres can suffer premature ageing, particularly

if not stored correctly. When vehicles are not utilized for long periods it is

recommended to check the vehicle and verify, through a specialist, the condition

of the tyres.

• Pirelli recommends to change 4 tyres in case of 4WD vehicles.
