Learning a new instrument is exciting! This book will show you how to play the jHorn instruments through lots of
fun tunes. Don’t forget to ask your teacher if you have any questions.
If you take your instrument home to practice, is there someone in your family you could teach to play? Try
making your own tune and give it a fun title!
Look for these questions throughout the book. Can you answer
them all?
How it works!
You will see some references throughout the book for various materials that can be downloaded for free from the
WindStars website – www.nuvo-windstars.com.
Each tune has a backing track (music only) and a practice track (with your part). When learning a new tune, you
will find it helpful to listen to and try to play along with the practice tracks. Some files are for teachers only so do
not worry if the numbers seem out of order. The references are shown below:

Introducing Windy!
Windy is an aspiring aviator who always wears a helmet, goggles and an over-sized flight jacket. Windy has
a dream to fly around the world, but is too young for such an adventure. In the meantime, music is the focus.
When the time comes to take off, music will be the universal language to connect with the people that Windy
will meet along the way.
You will see Windy going on a few adventures and even exploring some of the instruments you might want
to play when you graduate to WindStars 2.
Can you spot two jHorns?
