Rotork supplies actuators for an automated ‘Next
Generation’ fully electrified offshore gas platform
otork has supplied over 200 actuators to ONE-Dyas
Rfor the N05-A upstream gas processing platform,
located in the Dutch North Sea.
The Skilmatic SI intelligent self-contained electrohydraulic
actuators, IQT3 Pro intelligent part-turn
electric actuators and CVA continuous unrestricted
modulating actuators will support the electrification
and automation of the platform.
HSM Offshore was contracted to build N05-A – which
will turn upstream wet natural gas into dry natural
gas for pipeline export – by Dutch exploration and
production company ONE-Dyas.
The next generation platform, scheduled for production
in the winter of 2024/2025, is expected to reach ‘near
zero’ operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) and will
be the North Sea’s first fully electrified gas production
platform. Electrification is central to ONE-Dyas’ nearzero
strategy, with power primarily supplied by a nearby
German offshore wind farm, Riffgat.
Reduced maintenance visits and limited unplanned
helicopter flights also form part of the near-zero
initiative. The platform will be fully automated and
normally unmanned, with all plant equipment controlled
autonomously. Reliability is also key to reducing
unplanned visits to the platform, and digital solutions
further supports reliability and availability of assets.
The energy efficiency of Rotork’s actuators will further
support the near-zero emissions target. Electric
actuators only consume power when in operation,
unlike pneumatic actuators and controls, which need
a constant supply of either gas or locally produced
compressed air.
Rotork performed a factory fit of the Skilmatic SIs with
free issued valves for the N05-A project, which were
fitted and calibrated at Rotork’s Rotterdam Service
Centre then shipped to the HSM Offshore yard.

AkzoNobel celebrates 50 years of manufacturing
excellence with CNH partnership
kzoNobel is celebrating a 50+ year partnership with
ACNH, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of
agricultural and construction equipment (ACE), and
how the super durability, performance, and colour
consistency of its Interpon Powder coatings are enabling
CNH to compete on a world stage.
One of the very first to use powder coatings to protect
its combine harvesters, balers, and forage harvesters,
CNH made the switch from AkzoNobel’s industrial paints
to its Interpon ACE powder coatings 25 years ago. The
AkzoNobel team helped CNH in adapting its existing
liquid line to accommodate powder, while using the
same floor space and oven.
CNH was also among the first to use Interpon’s low cure
(Interpon ACE 2010 Low-E) powder coatings which have
helped the company to reduce its energy consumption
and therefore its carbon emissions.
“We chose AkzoNobel because it has the global capability
to develop the powder coatings we needed to adapt to new
market demands, and the demands of our own production
facility,” says Frank Verhoye, who heads up Paint Central
Manufacturing at CNH at its Zedelgem plant in Belgium.
To meet evolving regulatory and environmental requirements,
production was transitioned to a new generation of polyester
products formulated without TGIC. This move ensured
compliance with updated health and safety standards
while supporting broader sustainability objectives.
The Interpon team helped in creating colours that
accurately and precisely matched those required; CNH
brands’ products are used mostly in the summer, so
having a powder coating that has a high resistance to UV
light was a major advantage. They similarly have good
resistance to corrosion caused by high humidity or liquid
spills, such as diesel and oil.
Martina Lösgen, Global Segment and Key Account
Manager ACE and CV within AkzoNobel Powder Coatings
says she is very proud of the long-term partnership with
CNH, “We are very much looking forward to working with
CNH on developing new product solutions that will help
it to further reduce its carbon footprint and increase the
long-life of the machinery and the future of its brands.”

ystral rolls out
continuously operating
disperser
The German mixing and dispersion
technology specialist ystral
extends its machine portfolio with
the YSTRAL Coflow, a continuously
operating powder wetting and
dispersing machine. The inline
disperser, which was first presented
to the trade fair audience at this
year’s ACHEMA in Frankfurt/Germany,
is suitable for a broad range of
applications in different industries.
With the YSTRAL Coflow, powdered
solids are inducted, mixed and
dispersed into liquid streams in a
controlled way and in proportion
to quantity via volumetric or
gravimetric solid dosing systems. The
powders and liquids are combined
in a premixing zone, fine dispersion
then occurs via a rotor-stator system,
whereby the dispersing tools can be
designed with different slot widths
depending on the application.
“The product then experiences an
increase in pressure via an inducer
installed between the premixing
zone and the rotor-stator zone,” says
Uwe Klaumünzner, Expert Process
and Application Engineering at
ystral. “This change in pressure then
causes separation of the air that was
introduced with the powder, thus
a lower residual air content in the
product. In addition, this inducer is
used as axial pumping stage, to be
able to also process more viscous
products and then pump them from
the dispersing stage.”

ERP/MRP Software Company of the Month
Simple but Powerful MRP Software
for Small Manufacturers
Industrial Process News is pleased to name MRPeasy our ERP/MRP Software Company of the Month as
a recognition of its growing impact in the SME manufacturing space
RPeasy offers a cloud-based ERP/MRP
system built specifically for small and
Mmid-sized manufacturers and distributors.
With customers typically ranging from 10 to 200
employees, the platform helps businesses gain
end-to-end visibility, boost productivity, and scale
operations, all without the complexity or cost of
traditional enterprise systems.
MRPeasy has grown steadily and now supports over
2,000 manufacturers in more than 60 countries. The
UK alone accounts for nearly 500 clients, a testament to
the platform’s global appeal and local success. MRPeasy
continues to champion small manufacturers worldwide
by making advanced production management tools
accessible to all.
Designed for the real-world needs of small
manufacturers
MRPeasy’s strength lies in its comprehensive yet userfriendly
platform. Core features like production planning,
inventory management, and real-time reporting give
businesses the tools to make better decisions and
deliver on-time. Accurate quoting, reduced stock-outs,
improved equipment utilization, and smoother order
fulfillment all contribute to better customer satisfaction
and streamlined growth.
Just as importantly, MRPeasy enables seamless
collaboration across departments, connecting sales,
procurement, production, inventory, finance, and admin.
It’s a full-suite ERP/MRP system designed not just to
manage a business, but to scale it.
According to UK Business Development Manager
Sara Duff, this breadth of functionality, combined with
accessibility, is what sets MRPeasy apart, “Since day one,
we’ve aimed to bring the kind of powerful functionality
typically found in big, expensive systems to small
manufacturers. MRPeasy offers a low-cost, low-risk way
to gain full control over production without needing an
IT department to run it.”
Versatile. Scalable. Constantly evolving.
Unlike industry-specific MRP solutions, MRPeasy is
designed to serve a broad range of manufacturing
sectors. The system is continually updated based on user
feedback and real-world use cases.
Recent major updates include:
■ Master production schedule: Enables longterm
planning in addition to daily scheduling.
Manufacturers can now plan months ahead while
staying agile in the short term.
■ Customer portal: Allows end customers to view
order statuses, place repeat orders, and access shared
information, boosting transparency and customer
satisfaction.
■ Power BI integration: Adds advanced data
visualization capabilities. While MRPeasy already
integrates with platforms like Xero, QuickBooks,
Shopify, and Magento, it now also supports Power BI
for deeper insights and richer dashboards.
A transparent, self-service approach
Transparency is a core principle at MRPeasy. The
company embraces a self-service model, allowing
prospects and customers to explore the platform,
documentation, tutorials, and pricing openly on the
website without salespeople pressuring them to
purchase.
“We’re big on transparency,” says Sara Duff. “Everything is
out there: product info, pricing, user manuals, tutorials.
We want customers to feel in control and confident from
the start.”
This straightforward approach has resonated with
manufacturers who want robust functionality
without the usual ERP headaches such as lengthy
implementations, costly consultants, and crippling costs,
including hidden fees.
Proving it on the big stage
Earlier this year, MRPeasy showcased its solution at the
Smart Factory Expo, part of Smart Manufacturing
Week at NEC Birmingham. Sharing the floor with some
of the industry’s most established ERP vendors, the team
proved MRPeasy can more than hold its own.
“It was a great event,” Sara recalls. “We were able to get
the brand out there and build new partnerships across
various industries. And we had a lot of amazing reactions
to the software and the results we have produced.”
Making software affordable, practical, and powerful
As the platform continues to evolve, MRPeasy remains
focused on debunking the myth that ERP/MRP has to
be expensive or complicated. With its commitment
to power and usability, the company is equipping
small manufacturers around the world with tools once
reserved for enterprise giants.

Smarter Packaging Company of the Month
Smarter packaging
Smarter business
In this issue of Industrial Process News, we are pleased
to feature GREIF-VELOX as our Smarter Packaging
Company of the Month
G
REIF-VELOX is one of the world’s oldest
companies, with roots going back 1,000
years. It began in 1100, when monks
established the Greifenmühle (‘Griffin Mill’) in
Klützow, Pomerania (now Poland), starting a
long tradition of expertise in bagging, filling, and
palletising. In 1938, Ernst Mahlkuch – whose family
had owned the mill since 1734 – founded GREIF-
WERKE, continuing this legacy with innovative
bagging and filling machines.
Today, as one of the most enduring companies in the
world, GREIF-VELOX offers sustainable and customised
semi-automatic and fully automatic solutions for
bagging systems, filling and palletising systems,
and load securing. What’s more, GREIF-VELOX has
also grown into a global leader in the vacuum filling
of ultra-light powders such as carbon black, silica,
pigments and pesticides.
Complete full-line systems and service integration
We heard from CEO Sebastian Pohl on what the
company can do for its customers, “Customers do not
need standard solutions off the shelf, but individual
concepts and developments. As a rule, this individuality
not only increases production quality and quantity,
but also leads to strong competitive advantages that
quickly pay for themselves. On request, GREIF-VELOX
can supply complete full-line systems including robot
palletising and load securing from a single source to
further enhance these advantages for the customer.”
Packaging as a Service (PaaS):
A new business model
To complement its offerings, the company recently
launched its ‘Packaging as a Service’ (PaaS) model
– an all-inclusive service package for industrial powder
bagging. Sebastian elaborates, “Packaging as a Service
includes the machine, financing, maintenance, and
optimised packaging materials at a monthly rate –
eliminating high upfront investments.”
Instead of purchasing expensive equipment,
customers pay a monthly fee covering machine

use, installation, maintenance, spare parts, and
even packaging materials. This transforms capital
expenditures into operational ones, reducing financial
risk and maintenance surprises. Remote support and
automated spare part replenishment ensure high
system availability.
Thanks to a close partnership with dy-pack
Verpackungen Gustav Dyckerhoff GmbH, GREIF-VELOX
supplies SAFEDyVac bags precisely matched to its
machines – delivering maximum sealing performance,
product protection, and up to 40% less material usage.
With PaaS, GREIF-VELOX presents a sustainable and
future-proof response to industry demands.
Tailored solutions for industrial sectors
From its headquarters in Lübeck, Northern Germany,
and its subsidiary in Houston, Texas (Greif-Velox
America LLC), GREIF-VELOX serves a global market
with core competencies in industrial packaging for the
chemical, petrochemical, food, and building materials
sectors. Its high-performance machines handle both
powders and liquids with precision.
“Our solutions include fully automated filling,
sealing, and palletising systems – from stand-alone
machines to full-line systems. In addition, we offer
comprehensive services, from commissioning and
training to predictive maintenance and remote
support,” adds Sebastian.
Engineering precision and safety innovations
GREIF-VELOX is known for engineering precision,
advanced automation, and leading patented
technologies. Among its standout innovations is the
patented ValvoSeal Safe system. The ultrasonic sealing
mechanism uses dual welds to form a structured
double seam, making it on average up to 60% more
secure than conventional methods. Designed for ultralight,
toxic, or hygroscopic powders (e.g., carbon black,
crop protection agents, lithium hydroxide), this system
ensures clean and secure valve bag sealing, reducing
product loss and contamination.
ValvoSeal Safe integrates seamlessly with GREIF-VELOX
systems and is compatible with ValvoDetect, a sensorbased
system for identifying defective valve bags
during the packaging process and ValvoMat, a fully
automatic empty bag applicator.
Future outlook: Digitalisation and global expansion
GREIF-VELOX is continually expanding its digital
services and automation capabilities. It is currently
developing AI-based service tools and extending its
PaaS offering. Sustainability and digitalisation remain
at the heart of its innovation strategy.
Parallel to its technological advancements, GREIF-
VELOX is also expanding its international partner
network. With recent growth in North America, Europe,
GCC, and Asia, the company is positioning itself for
increased global presence.
Sebastian concludes, “We are passionate about solving
complex packaging challenges and welcome any
opportunity to collaborate on future-proof solutions.
From batch-size-one automation to global service
concepts – we’re ready.”

AQUA SAFETY
SHOWERS and the
importance of having
an Emergency Safety
Shower
Introduction:
A qua
Safety
Showers
International
Ltd is a UK
manufacturer
and supplier
of emergency
safety
showers and eyewashes and has over 30 years’
experience in this industry. Janet Waine, Managing
Director of Aqua Safety showers explains how
important a safety shower is and what is required to
meet legal requirements.
In workplaces where employees handle hazardous
materials, the importance of having an emergency
safety shower cannot be overstated. Accidents
can happen, and exposure to chemicals or other
dangerous substances can occur unexpectedly,
putting workers’ health and wellbeing at risk.
By installing a safety shower unit, you are meeting
your duty of care to your employees as well as
promoting a culture of safety within your workplace.
The latest specifications state that the shower should
deliver tepid water to avoid thermal shock and further
injury. The unit should be easily accessible and visible.
The best option to achieve this is to install a TS1500L

Current transducers
from Danisense selected
for APS Upgrade
t the recent IPAC 2024 (International
Aparticle accelerator conference in
Nashville, Tenessee, USA) researchers
from the American Argonne National
Laboratory presented a paper about
their ‘Precision current measurement
and calibration system for the APS-U
unipolar magnet power supplies.’ The
measurement system uses several
custom commercial DCCT current
transducers from Danisense, the
leader in high-accuracy current sense
transducers for demanding applications.
The APS Upgrade (APS-U) multi-bend
acromat storage ring from the Argonne
National Laboratory requires 1,000 highstability
unipolar magnet power supplies.
For these power supplies a precision current
measurement and calibration system has
been developed to independently measure
the power supply output current to ensure
the accuracy and repeatability of the supplies.
The measurement system uses custom
commercial DCCT current transducers from
Danisense along with APS-U-designed
electronics. The calibration system is designed
to perform on-demand calibration of all 1,000
DC measurement channels simultaneously
using a single current reference source
instrument. The calibration system
includes a precision current multiplier
and impedance buffer based on a novel
use of DCCT technology that provides a
local precision calibration current for up
to 6 DCCTs in series through multi-turn
low impedance calibration windings.
Comments Loic Moreau, Sales & Marketing
Director at Danisense, “We are very proud
that the Argonne National Laboratory has
chosen current transducers from Danisense

Metals Expo 2025
The British Stainless Steel
Association (BSSA) is proud
to return to UK Metals Expo 2025
– the UK’s key gathering for the
metals supply chain – to highlight
the essential role stainless steels
play in a sustainable future.
As the trade association for
stainless steel in the UK, the BSSA
promotes correct specification,
processing, and application across
all sectors – from architecture and
food production to energy and
transport. We provide technical
guidance, training, and advocacy
to ensure stainless steel delivers
performance with sustainability.
At the Expo, we’ll spotlight
stainless steel’s environmental
and lifecycle benefits. It’s 100%
recyclable without quality loss,
with around 95% of end-of-life
stainless steel recovered and
reused. Some grades even contain
up to 94% recycled content.
Durable, corrosion-resistant, and
low-maintenance, stainless steel
products can last decades, reducing
maintenance or replacement costs.
This can improve efficiency and lower
costs whilst lowering environmental
impact across the supply chain.
We’ll also showcase our industry
support through training,
sustainability efforts, and
collaboration. Not yet a BSSA

Appointments
BEP Surface Technologies
accelerates nanodiamond
R&D with key appointment
EP Surface Technologies, a
Bleading electroplating and
surface finishing specialist, is
accelerating its ground-breaking
R&D into nanodiamond technology
with a key appointment.
The Radcliffe-based company has
hired a highly skilled chemical
engineer, Dinesh Durgappa, to
spearhead advancements in
blending microscopic diamond
particles with electroless nickel plating.
Mixing nanodiamonds with metal
coatings can offer game-changing
improvements in components used in
many existing and emerging industries
because they radically enhance
thermal conductivity and improve
wear resistance.
This strategic hire underscores BEP’s
commitment to pushing the boundaries
of surface treatment solutions, following
the strategic partnership with Helsinkibased
nanodiamond manufacturer
Carbodeon, announced in September.
as it does not require electricity, offering
greater versatility and efficiency. By
integrating nanodiamonds into the
electroless nickel plating process,
Durgappa aims to improve the
performance of plated materials,
providing superior resistance to wear
and corrosion – two critical challenges
for heavy machinery and other sectors.
Durgappa is leading BEP Surface
Technologies' efforts to conduct in-depth
literature reviews and experimental
research. Technical consultant John Tor
and an industry veteran will support this
initiative and guide the incorporation of the
new technology into existing processes.

Handling, Storage & Logistics
Smart move by Hart
From Speedor Storm, the largest Speedor
available, Hart Door Systems has now
revealed Speedor Smart, the smallest
Speedor available.
Doug Hart, Hart’s Chairman, says the
development of Speedor Smart was very much
driven by demand from global airports. “We have
experience in delivering door solutions for very
many international airports so we welcomed the
opportunity to demonstrate our Speedor skills in
the area of automated baggage handling.”
“This is a great achievement. We have been able
to increase the range of solutions offered by
the Speedor brand, in this case by delivering a
secure, automatic, door to work repeatedly with
conveyor belts, Speedor Smart.”
“Overall this strengthens our skills in an
important area for airports be it baggage check
in, conveyor separation or equipment automatic
high speed access doors to the tarmac. There is
increasing sophistication in the process at a time
when airports are becoming busier. Being able to
interface and automate, reliably over millions of
operations is key.”
Hart has a considerable range of assets for airports
from a range of fire/security shutters capable of
delivering protection from smoke and fire threats
in a frequent operations environment to roller
shutters for Storage/Access areas in airports to
high-speed doors up to 6m wide x 8m high.
This includes roller shutters tested to 5,000 pascals
pressure. Upper-most is the ability of Hart to
deliver high quality solutions across a very wide
range of industries not just in the UK but abroad.
Airport customers, for example, come to Hart
for solutions and high-quality ones at that
which comply with UK, EU and US international
standards confirming the end-product achieves
a standard which complies with the expectations
of our customers and any applicable contractual
and legislative requirements.
Hart can be relied on to deliver the results and
one that understands how airport projects are
managed having a proven track record of British
engineering and service excellence on nearly 40
international airports.
These include Heathrow, where Hart installed
forty eight check-in desks with a unique
design, developed specifically for Heathrow in
combination with an international conveyor
manufacturer, combining features from other
Hart products namely fire, security and high
speed, automatic, operation.
Hart’s innovative products, problem-solving
approach and practical experience help companies
to maintain quality working conditions as well
as containing noise, odour and environmental
contaminants. This spirit of innovation is
embedded in in the philosophy of continually
evolving product range of Speedor high-speed
doors, fire shutters, Terror Screen security
rated shutters and specialist doors such as ATEX
compliant high-speed doors and shutters.
Hart’s products are manufactured to international
standards such as the ISO9001:2015 Quality
