This decorative spatial structure symbolizes the
meeting of cultures separated yet united by the sea.
Crafted from salvaged Portuguese waste wood, it
revitalizes forgotten materials. The red and yellow
discs represent Japan and Portugal’s flags, while the
wave pattern and ceramics honor maritime heritage,
uniting craftsmanship and history from both nations.
この 装 飾 空 間 構 造 は、 海 によって 分 離 されながらも 結 ば
れた 文 化 の 出 会 いを 象 徴 しています。 回 収 されたポルト
ガルの 廃 棄 木 材 から 作 られ、 忘 れられた 素 材 に 新 たな

The Soldita side table is a sculptural piece made
from industrial offcuts, hand-welded with patterns
inspired by Japanese art. Embracing imperfection
like kintsugi, it transforms discarded fragments into
a functional, poetic object. The visible welds add
decorative value, blending artisanal technique with
contemporary design to tell a cultural story.

“Namban Screens – The Encounter” is a folding
screen (from Japanese byōbu) honouring the 16thcentury
Namban meetings between Portugal and
Japan. Inspired by Japanese screens of Portuguese
sailors, it reimagines that inaugural exchange,
celebrating sustainability and circular economy. Each
panel uses wine, coffee or chocolate production
waste, inviting contemplative discovery.
「 南 蛮 屏 風 – 出 会 い」は、16 世 紀 のポルトガルと 日 本 の
南 蛮 交 流 を 讃 えた 折 りたたみ 屏 風 ( 日 本 の 屏 風 )です。
ポルトガルの 船 乗 りたちの 日 本 の 屏 風 にインスパイアさ
れ、その 初 期 の 交 流 を 再 構 築 し、 持 続 可 能 性 と 循 環 型 経
済 を 祝 っています。 各 パネルにはワイン、コーヒー、また

user and is compatible with IKEA’s KALLAX system.
Made from chipboard with oak veneer, it is available
